You can choose to visit Funchal city, learn about its history, visit some of its iconic landmarks and areas, like the XV century Old Town, the Sé Cathedral, its famous “Mercado dos Lavradores” (farmer’s market) or “Fortaleza do Pico”. Your guide/driver will also take throughout the back streets to places that only a true local knows.
The lush hill side village of Monte at 550 meters above sea level, has lovely gardens, fantastic views and its where the famous “Taboggan Ride” is found.
The east cliffs of Garajau can also provide excellent views over the Atlantic Ocean and the city of Funchal. On the way up the first stop will be at Pináculo, 280m above sea level and located on the edge of a cliff. Travel on through to Garajau, set at the east end of the bay of Funchal. You will be offered a spectacular view of the "Christ the Redeemer" statue (older than the one in Brazil), whilst marveling at the crystal-clear waters below.
The e fishing village of Câmara de Lobos is famous for its picturesque looks, with colorful fishing boats in the dry dock right in the center of the village, a small bay and steep hills crowded with small old buildings. Its unique beauty was immortalized in one of Winston Churchill´s painting. Once in the village you will have the opportunity to explore it and learn about its history, culture and try some of the local delicacies.
After your visit to the fishing village you can head up the hills to the top of Cabo Girão cliff where, at its highest point, 580 meters above sea level, a glass sky-walk will provide some breathtaking views over the south east coast and beach below.
The Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in Madeira Island, with marvelous views overlooking the city of Funchal.

An absolutely perfect day in Madeira with Tukxi! We explored in two tukxis with another couple and saw so many amazing sights. The views from the top of the cliff were breathtaking, and driving through the gorgeous old town was such a memorable experience. Our guides, João Silva and Natércio, made the day extra special. We stopped for lunch with them to enjoy authentic local food, and it was heavenly! They also took us to two ceramics shops, where the pieces were so beautiful—it was a wonderful way to bring a little of Madeira home with us. From the stunning scenery to the delicious food and the wonderful company of our guides, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Tukxi, especially João Silva and Natércio, for an unforgettable day in Madeira!

Daniella arrived right on time to pick us up at cruise port for a 6 hour fun filled day! We saw so many sights all around Madeira! We got great pictures and we learned so much from Daniella. She was passionate about Madeira and the beautiful historic Funchal. She helped identify the gorgeous foliage of the area. We visited the market and saw fish we had never heard of and ended our tour having the fish for lunch! All six hours went by quickly and we were never rushed. It was a fantastic day and thanks to Daniella!🎉

I had a great tour with Daniela. I did a half day tour. She picked me up at my hotel in old town and showed me Camara de Lobos which is a very quaint fishing village with a flair for art. Next we covered the downtown area from west to east. She gave me a great overview of the sites and history. I enjoyed her company and highly recommend requesting her. The open air Tuk Tuk was a fun way to explore the city.
Wonderful time with Pedro, he was very knowledgeable and patient, answering our questions. He took us up and down streets in the old down and pointed out various things of interest, stopping at a beautiful church for us to visit inside. We then went to a beautiful fishing village and let us have 30 minutes to walk around and then finally for an extra €30, he took us to the famous Skywalk. If your looking for a wonderful way to see Maderia, then the Tuk'Tuk ride is the best way to do it!!
We had a wonderful on the Madeira Grand Experience by Tukxi during our cruise port day in Funchal. Our guide was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us a great introduction to the city's culture and sights. The tour was relaxed, informative, and a very enjoyable way to spend our day in Madeira. We especially enjoyed ending the tour at a local festival downtown, which was a fun and memorable way to experience the city. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Funchal!
We did a 6 hour tuk-tuk tour. We visited Nun's Valley, viewing it from above, then going down into the valley to see it from the floor up. We loved this, and my wife and I enjoyed a glass of chestnut liqueur which we didn't find anywhere else in our trip. After that we visited Pico de Arieiro, the third highest mountain on Madeira. This was spectacular. It's a long climb up in a tuk-tuk, but much more fun than in a car. Looking out over fields of clouds was an amazing experience. A highlight of our holiday. After that we did a bit of exploring in Funchal on our way back to our hotel. You don't get to see as much of the island in a tuk-tuk as you would in a car, but it's SO much more pleasurable. Our guide, Tiago Jesus, was excellent, highly knowledgable, and happy to take us wherever we wanted. This cost twice as much as the 90 minutes city tour, but was four times longer -- you know it makes sense!!! We will definitely book again if we ever return to Madeira, to explore different parts of the island.

We took the Tuk Tuk tour in Madeira and it was fantastic. It’s a great way to see the highlights of the city and learn about its history. John was our guide and did an outstanding job. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and fun. And I had injured my knee and he helped me in and out of the Tuk. We were never rushed so we had long stops to make sure we saw everything. Also took us to a bakery that makes this wonderful dessert. Can’t remember the name but this place makes the original. I would definitely ask for John if I was going on the tour

This was a great way to tour around Funchal area on a beautiful sunny day. Our driver/guide John was really good and helped us get a feel for the area. We felt safe & everything went well capping off the tour by dropping us at the vintage room for a Madeira tasting. Great day!

We had a wonderful trip with Margarida on our tuk-tuk tour. We were unfortunately delayed with our ship arrival, but the company was very accommodating and waited for us until we were able to get off. Margarida was a fabulous tour guide. She listened to our interests and tailored the tour perfectly. And she took great photos of us. Our first stop was up the hill to the toboggan. She gave us great instructions, and when we were finished was there to pick us up. We then covered much of the downtown area and some of the newer developments while she took us up to some incredible vistas and then down into a lovely fishing village. We also visited the glass-bottom viewpoint, some beautiful caves, and she even took us to a winery so we could try the famous Madeira wine. We had a lovely day with her and appreciated her knowledge, experience and sense of humour. It was a great introduction to Madeira and encouraged us to return at another time.

Our guide, Daniella was bubbly, funny, knowledgeable and a great deal of fun. We saw places thst buses cannot get to. I asked to taste local pastries abd if course some Madiera, she stopped at places she knew were not touristy which was great. Brilliant tour, highly recommend and ask for Daniella 😄

Tiago was waiting for us right outside our ship on the quay. He asked us if we had any where that we wanted to see, we told him that we would leave that to him. The weather was not great so a trip into the mountains was not worth it as the visibility was terrible. Tiago made the best of it and took us on a lovely tour of the Funchal and Lido area. All in all would highly recommend this tour.
John S. Is an exceptional guide who took us to a variety of interesting stops during our four hour tour. We particularly enjoyed his knowledge of history, the island’s unique characteristics and even the local flora. We found the tour to be an excellent value and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anybody. It’s worth noting for cruise ship guests you will be afforded pick up right at the terminal.

This is really the perfect way to see Funchal and surrounding areas. This vehicle can get into spaces and alleys that even small cars can’t pass through. Our tour guide was exceptional and knew so much about the history and sites we were viewing. I really like the fact this Tuck Tuck could get up clase for easy access to view areas , plazas, and parks. I would highly recommend this tour, for even seasoned travelers to Madeira.

We had an amazing experience of Madeira, mainly due to Daniella. We had a four hour tour in the Tuk Tuk and what we got to see and do in that time was fantastic, Daniella asked us what was important for us to see within our time, and she delivered. We got to go all the way up into the mountains, it was Christmas and we saw traditional nativity scenes in the local villages. It was a great adventure, as it was sunny and warm in Funchal, going up into the mountains it was inclement, colder and drizzly. All created the experience of the visit. We had a lovely lunch stop as well as coffee and Custard Tart stop. Never tried so many variations of Chestnuts, (cake, soup, liquor, roasted, you get the picture) we will never look at a chestnut again without thinking of the lovely Daniella. Thank you!
We were picked up from the hotel lobby. Our guide was very thorough asking us what we would like to gain and see during the journey. We made our way through the Port and Lido area and then went very high up into the mountains and enjoyed fabulous scenery. Would highly recommend!
