We had a really great experience on this trip, the crew were knowledgeable and considerate of the whales we saw. They were also informative about the landscape of Madeira. We booked this trip on for a rainy day and it was still brilliant!

Somewhat boring. We barely saw 1 or 2 whales from distance and for less than 30 seconds each time. We saw more dolphins (maybe 5-6) but also for a short period (maybe 1-2 minutes). The sailing takes almost 1.5 hour each way and it is boring!
Great experience from beginning to the end. We started the trip with spotting a monk seal in the harbour and then spending time watching a very close distance pilot whales pod for a while. The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable which made the experience even more interesting.
Good trip, we saw some bottle nose Dolphins and there was time for a swim. Drinks and snacks available, with toilets if needed. Friendly and informative crew in several languages.
Fabulous. Booked through trip advisor very easy. We were on a cruise so we paid at the port before our trip. Tickets came through straightaway, very easy process. Friendly staff on arrival. Great experience.
Great trip . Although didn’t see many dolphins we did see lots of pilot whales which was wonderful to see . The captain had said it was the biggest sighting of them so far this year so really lucky. The boat then stops afterwards for a while for a short swim for those who chose to before heading back . The trip was the right amount of time and the amount of people on the trip wasn’t too many so plenty of space on the boat . There’s some basic snacks and drinks on board from what I could see but it’s all about looking in the water . Great trip
We were able to see pilot whales and spotted dolphins! The guides were kind and knowledgeable. There is a bit of time on the water where you won’t see anything but you can use that time to take in the amazing views of the island.
Amazing experience in this amazing place called Madeira , for sure will come back one more time , or many more times
Don't forget to take your swimsuit and a towel for a quick swim in the water! Nice tour. Saw many pilot whales.
Great to see dolphins and whales. Impressive guides and comfortable boat
Great fun, well organised, really good price Remember to bring swimming gear. They even let you ride the dolphins
We had a lovely morning aboard the Magic Dolphin and were delighted to see Whales, Dolphins and even the elusive Monk Seal. A respectful and mindful way to see Madeira's coastal wildlife.
Well organized trip, all was on time & we saw pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins - we took the morning trip.
I feel that this is just a fine experience. The cost doesn't seem to give the right value. We only saw one whale species and one dolphin species, each for just 10 minutes, as that is the allotted time for each boat. The water was nice for a quick 10 minute swim. But, the time out there can feel long and there are over 100 people on the boat. It is a nice boat with a decent amount of space and very great guides, but in general I didn't feel this was worth it. Perhaps it is better with a different group, but it may be the same.
Excellent tour. Good boat.. Comfortable. Great crew and narrations and available for questions. I did the morning tour and enjoyed it all with sightings as well. I highly recommend.
It was really good and very organized. Everything went so smoothly. I would definitely use them again and recommend this company
The operator is super rude and offered zero compassion when we were 5 min late, no other solution and laughed at us saying it says in the description to be here 15 min early which in fact it doesn’t. Her name is Oomoot
Fab trip. Saw dolphins and whales. Lots of interesting facts. We had calm seas and Lovely views of Madeira. Plenty of room on the catamaran to move around to see. There was also time for swimming in the sea off of the catamaran so don’t forget to take your swimming costume!
It was a great experience. We got the chance to see the dolphins and also this is good way to see the beauty of Madeira island from the sea.
Pleasant cruise along the coast. Only saw a few dolphins and a distant seal, and no whales, but that is the gamble. If the whales aren’t there, we can’t see them.
Amazing experience - I did it twice. On my first trip on the 03rd October I saw a pod of Pilot Whales which was incredible and then on my second trip on the 08th October we saw a huge pod of Dolphins. It was magical on both days. Highly recommend.
Great experience, saw a podcast of dolphins, stopped off for a swim. Great crew, boat very clean.
It’s okay. But no luck we did not have any chance to see the whale. Large amount of dolphins were seen in the sea and was really funny.
Amazing experience saw two whale species (pod os 7 Pilot, and Blainsville Beaked) and one dolphin species (small pod, Bottlenose).
We had a wonderful trip and saw both whales and dolphins within the 1st hour! The rest of the trip followed the coast and it was lovely to see the island from the sea. All the crew were helpful and knowledgeable. When the dolphins and whales were spotted everyone had a chance to see them
If you are disabled or difficulty walking they escort you on to the catamaran first, much appreciated. The crew were friendly and helpful. The boat wasn’t overcrowded and was clean. We saw pilot whales and bottle nose dolphins. The captain positioned the catamaran so the right and left side so all had good viewing opportunities. Various points of interest on the island were identified. There was an opportunity for people to have a swim. An enjoyable afternoon!
Very knowledgeable staff. Beautiful boat very clean. Saw plenty of Dolphins and Pilot whales. Have been before would go again
Excellent excursion. Knowledgeable crew.
Saw 3 different whales 🐋 dolphins 🐬 various species, pilot whales, bottle nosed dolphins and a rare Blainville's beaked whale.
Enjoyed seeing the island from the sea. We saw pilot whales, which are really dolphins, who knew? We were really lucky to see a very rare wolfseal too. Nice way to spend a few hours.
Lovely trip, fabulous to be able to observe dolphins in their natural habitat and views of Madeiras coastline were incredible
Really great value! The boat feels overcrowded as you get on but there’s room for everyone to sit and as soon as dolphins are spotted everyone is up watching anyway. The staff were very knowledgeable and we saw dolphins about 40 minutes in. Get to stop off for a swim in the sea towards the end too. Recommend if you’re in Madeira!
Beautiful scenery and a great crew, we felt safe and had a great time. We saw lots of dolphins and there was plenty of picture opportunities
It was a pleasant experience but sadly the fish were not playing along and hiding. Crew did their best I give them that
It's fantastic 🤩 saw pilot whales and bottle nose dolphins, stopped to swim, very informative staff who explained everything too
Sadly did not see any dolphins or whales. Swimming wasn't for us, so was a long time just looking at just the sea. Guys tried their best and understand it's nature but wouldn't go again, as paid for a trip to see whales and dolphins not just a boat trip. They offered another trip for €10 but could be same again and had other events booked. Dissapointed, as you see all the great videos of what others got for their money.
The team was very friendly - all the four of them, incl. Afonso, Salvador, Fernando. We saw a few dolphins swimming very near to the boat, unfortunately no whales, but I guess it’s not the season, as it is still quite hot. There are drinks and snacks on board. The whole trip takes about 3 hours and it is a pleasant ride. I recommend.
We managed to see Pilot Whales and Bottle Nosed Dolphins, which was brilliant. A great crew and catamaran.
The guys worked hard to make sure we saw some Marine Wildlife, we have been before and saw whales previously. This time we saw a pod of nearly 70 Spotted Dolphins. The guys give an explanation and background of what you have seen on the return journey. A nice relaxed and friendly tour again.
Fantastic trip with passionate guides. Unfortunately they had to look for the dolphins a bit longer than usual and no whales in sight, which results in a four instead of a five, but overall a great experience!
We were lucky and managed to experience a pod of dolphins for the maximum of ten minutes allowed. No whales unfortunately but still a very enjoyable trip. We were unsure if a swimming stop was included. We could see no information on this, but took swim gear just in case. Would be good if this is highlighted in the information. Some very good information from the crew about dolphins and parts of the island we could see.
It was a great 3 hour trip. Great crew and very informative. We managed to see some pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins and a beaked whale.
Overall excellent Saw two types of dolphins - the crew worked hard to find as many animals as possible
We did not see any whales or dolphins on our trip unfortunately but was offered €10 to redo the trip which was nice of them to offer. Despite not seeing any animals it was a really nice experience to be on the ocean for a few hours and see the island from that view as well as have a swim in the sea. Boat was quite crowded but there was still room to sit and change spots, there is food and drink available on board.
A lovely afternoon on the ECO catamaran in Madeira looking for dolphins. The crew were friendly and professional and the ‘spotter’ was very good. He found false killer whales (this is unusual) and we were really close to them; a lovely sight. We also got to have a quick swim in the ocean. All in all a great experience.
Amazing experience we saw many dolphins and a large whale and spent a decent amount of time viewing them in their natural habitat. We did the sunset cruise so then moved to another area to view this and learn about other parts of the island. Very enjoyable and informative experience
We had a beautiful boat trip on the Magic Dolphin Eco. We saw a huge pod of bottle nose dolphins just 10 minutes into the trip and a whale just a few mins later. The staff were great and very knowledgeable. All in all a lovely way to spend the morning, enjoying the wildlife without harming it! Highly recommended.
Great value trip. We spent 3 hours on the boat and saw a large group of pilot whales, as well as birds and flying fish. The guides were knowledgeable and provided enough information, without talking non-stop!
Brilliant trip - crew were amazing and full of interesting information. Saw a big family of pilot whales, 15 mins for videos and photos with only one other boat nearby. My only issue is that kids pricing only applies to those under age 12, so I had to pay an extra EUR20 for my 12 year old on the day. The boat is spacious enough so everyone could get a view from each side depending on where the whales were. Bar and toilets on board, shady and sunny areas to sit. Priority boarding line for families/disabled. Overall a great experience, and the views of Funchal. Câmara da Lobos and Cabo Girao are amazing from the water.
Great trip although very busy. We were lucky enough to see whales and dolphins. Would recommend this trip and company
