We had a wonderful experience on our tour with Marco! Everything was very well organized, and we truly enjoyed every moment of the day. Marco was an excellent guide — very attentive, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about Madeira. Being a local, he shared so many interesting stories and fascinating details about the island, which made the experience even more special. We also really appreciated how smoothly he communicated in two languages, making sure everyone felt included and understood everything. He was always happy to help whenever needed and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire trip. Another thing we appreciated was the convenience of being picked up directly from our hotel and dropped off at the same place at the end of the day. It was a beautiful and memorable experience, and we are very happy we chose you. Thank you once again for such a lovely day!

Fabulous trip, our second trip with this company. Wonderful information friendly guides. Full long day but nicely paced. Marco even took us to see a view point that wasn’t on the itinerary because we were early for the next stop. Marco was friendly, so proud of his country and very knowledgeable, have us a great insight into living in Madeira as well as the history about the areas we visited. Great value for money would definitely recommend

What a fabulous tour company, we actually did two day trips with them, the West Side of Madeira with Tony, an amazing guide, knowledgeable, funny and a careful driver, the tour itself was excellent, what an experience, standing on the glass walkway looking along the coast was stunning, the ancient forest was magical and today we have been with the wonderful Marco, along the East side of Madeira, to see the highest point, we was so lucky with the clear views, above the clouds, you do need a fleece/jacket it was quite chilly and blowy, Santana and more, Marco is a wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable enthusiastic guide you could come across, I can’t recommend this company enough. Thank you for two wonderful days

We had so much fun with our British friends and our tour guide, Marco. All the little stops he made while sharing precious information about the island helped us enjoy our day even more. He made our day trip incredible. On top of that, he made us feel better about our flight home the next day. (Marco and our British friends were right—everything went smoothly!)

What a day! Our driver/guide Marco was exceptionally knowledgeable and kind. The sights and information were incredible and all the places we stopped were absolutely stunning. It really was an amazing day and fantastic value for money. We shared the vehicle with Max and his wife, a Canadian couple, and they were delightful too. I honestly cannot fault anything and along with the stunning sights Marco was a stunning host. Wonderful.

We did a full-day trip around the Eastern part of the island, doing many stops to enjoy beautiful views and to walk around. We went there on a minibus. I would like to thank for the bus driver who was our guide at the same time. A great professional, agreable person who was willing to help us with whatever we needed. His guiding skills are at a very high level.

Highly recommend this tour and this tour company. Saw some amazing places that we would not have seen otherwise . The views were really breathtaking and there was a real variety of places . In addition we got to experience some rum tasting and some good traditional food (although there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything ) . The trip was made even better by our great guide “Romero” who was very knowledgeable and friendly and gave us a good insight into the geography , culture and history of Madeira . So pleased we booked it !

Perfect tour to experience beautiful Madeira! This is the only way to go. Forget renting a car. Our driver Mario knew all about the timing we needed to experience everything we should see. Loved him!

From the start, we could see the love that our guide Marco has for Madeira. We had a lovely day with him exploring half of the island. He set up a great lunch for us at a local restaurant in Santana and made great suggestions of local foods to try. He was so informative about the history and daily life in Madeira. The island is stunning. We had a great day.

A fabulous, interesting facts about Madeira, amazing breathtaking at times views. Dont miss this trip.. Its a long day, but plenty of stop offs for refreshments or loo break. Wear comfy shoes and bring layers as it can get windy/chilly at times when up high.. Marco was lovely and spoke plenty of languages so no one felt left out.. Mini bus is quite tight regarding leg space and width space thats my only niggle... Bring change for toilets .. Some of the views you need to walk up hill on uneven ground so not good if you struggle with this..

We booked a two day private tour as we didn’t have much time. On these two days our tour guide, Marco, showed us the best highlights in the North and the West of the island. From the very start Marco impressed us with his remarkable knowledge on pretty much any topic related to the island: history, botanics, economics, politics, society etc. He continuously adapted the depth of his explanations to our interests. Madeira and Marco impressed us so much that we know we will be back very soon!

We had a fantastic day! The guide and driver was the same person—extremely friendly, multilingual (speaking English, French, and German), and very knowledgeable. He shared a wealth of information about Madeira’s history, the locations, and the sights in a professional yet engaging and humorous way. It made the whole experience truly enjoyable. He was also a very attentive and professional driver throughout. Highly recommended!

Booked this experience through Get Your Guide. Spot Madeira travel got in touch night before with pick up details. However due to illness I had to get in touch with them early hours on day of trip to cancel they were so understanding and went out of their way to help. I have never come across such a kind. Caring and helpful company and would certainly use them again. Thank you to all involved.

Despite shocking weather conditions, all four seasons in one day including snow, our guide Marco was excellent he had plan B and C due to many roads closed. This did not detract from Marco giving us a first class tour, taking us to many different locations in this beautiful island whilst keeping us one step ahead of the storm. Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our day spent on this tour last Thursday. The views were spectacular at every stop, it was well organised and a worthy addition to our trip to Madeira. I couldn’t pick my favourite spot if I tried, we went from feeling like we were at the top of the world at Pico do Arieiro to the very edge at Ponta de São Lourenço. A highlight has to be our guide and driver Patrick who was an absolute delight, very informative and put every effort in to making sure we had the best day possible. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Prompt pick up from hotel and greeted by Marco, who was our wonderful and knowledgeable guide. The scenery was breathtaking, with plenty of time given to do the small hike at Ribeiro Frio, stopping later for lunch at Santana. The only negative, was the air conditioning at the back of the mini bus wasn’t functioning well, meaning it was a little sticky. Would recommend for those who want to get away from the beach and/or city and explore the beautiful countryside and mountains of Madeira.

We had an incredible day led by Marco. On the first stop we came up through the clouds to see amazing views, the second stop we had opportunity for a 45 minute walk through the forest followed by a lunch stop and more scenic stops. Marco impressed us with a constant flow of information on things around us, flowers, local history and funny personal anecdotes. he did the whole tour in english and german but this didn't stop it feeling very personable! It was a perfect way to spend my birthday and see the island without the stress of trying to navigate and drive a country that's new to me. 100/10 recommend!

Great tour for exploring part of Madeira. Take a light jacket or something as it can be a bit chilly when you explore the highest parts of the island.

There was a little confusion about our pick-up, but that was quickly sorted, and after that we had a great day. Our guide, Carlos, was very knowledgeable, and shared a lot of interesting information about Madeiran history and the places we visited. We particularly enjoyed the levada walk, the views from Pico Do Areeiro, and the triangular thatched houses in Santana. There were several stops during the day to get snack and refreshments. We stopped off for a three-course lunch (which was an optional extra). The day ended with a visit to a rum factory and a tasting, and the chance to buy some locally-made Madeiran rum (without being pressurised to do so). We were a multi-lingual group, and Carlos switched easily between Portuguese, French and English throughout the day. This tour was the last thing we did in Madeira, and was a great way to end our holiday.

We really enjoyed our trip to Eastern Madeira and Santana. The minibus was comfortable and our guide Carlos was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this excursion.

Although the weather was wet the first portion of the day, it was a great tour of the north and northeast parts of Madeira. Daniel was an excellent driver and guide, and filled us in on an incredible amount of information and trivia, and allowed us ample time at the stops to enjoy them. The rum distillery was a highlight, as were several viewpoints, and the levada walk. Time well spent.

Very good tour with beautiful views. Weather varied from 1 degree Celsius ( and very wet and windy) at the top of the mountain to 19 degrees Celsius at sea level! Marco, the guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. We would recommend this great value tour.

Amazing tour through the spectacular landscapes of Madeira! Our guide, Marco, was excellent, attentive, professional and extremely knowledgeable. We really enjoyed Marco’s insights about plants, agriculture, history and cultural contexts during the tour. His love for the island was very present in all his stories. We were taking this tour with our 2 y.o. toddler and everything was very kid-friendly! Everything was smooth, from the communication about pick-up to the timetable etc. The bus was very comfortable, clean and had a car seat ready for our toddler. And Marco is an excellent, obviously very skilled driver! We can’t recommend Spot Madeira Travel enough! Thank you, Marco!

Spot Madeira Travel were excellent in all respects. Marco, our guide, took us to the top of the island where the sun shone and the views were breathtaking. Marco, with his command of several languages, was always attentive to the groups needs and willing to make adjustments to the timings in each location visited so that everyone felt calm and relaxed. His knowledge of the island was immense and he was able to put it into interesting stories as we went along. He drove very carefully which was essential when the journey involved some very high routes albeit on the high quality Madeiran roads. (He did show us some of the old roads, now abandoned, on the north coast which have now been replaced by tunnels and new roads - they were routes we would not have contemplated travelling on). We went on this trip with my wife and loved it. The guide showed us extra locations and went through smaller roads and showed us places where tourists are not normally taken. It was a really awesome day and I would definitely recommend this tour.

Well spent day, the guide was through and informative throughout, the timings at some places can be adjusted like at Santana coz there is nothing to do , instead may be let people go on a 2 hr hike somewhere.

This was our second tour with Spot Maderia and we enjoyed it as much as the first. We had an awesome day exploring the East side of Maderia Island. Highlights included the incredible Pico do Aeriero, Forest, historic Santana Rum factory and all the way to the coastal tip. Stops were well planned and good amount of time allotted to each. Marco our guide was brilliant. Very knowledgeable, keen to answer all questions about history and culture. His pride in being Maderian shone through.

A leisurely experience using all the back roads to see the real beauty of Madeira. Stops were well judged and the time of stay was dependant on the local attractions, but certainly was enough time at each stop
