I had a fabulous experience touring with Christophe, I booked two tours in total and did not regret it. I personally preferred the east of the island for the dramatic cliffs, high mountain peaks, dramatic cloud-level viewpoints and rugged peninsula. Christophe recommended some great restaurants which we visited during our stay, this additional knowledge and information made are visit to Maderia even more special and unforgetable!

The West Coast Tour was the highlight of our stay in Madeira. Christophe was an outstanding guide, knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about his home island. From start to finish, we felt welcome and well looked after. We particularly enjoyed the open-roof and the off-road experience, which made the tour even more memorable. The Fanal Forest was simply breathtaking, like stepping into another world. Christophe went above and beyond throughout the day, taking a detour so we could taste local fruits, introducing us to native flowers and plants, and pointing out fascinating details about the island's architecture, history, and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will definitely be back for the East Coast Tour. If you're visiting Madeira, this is an experience not to miss. And if possible, make sure Christophe is your guide!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re visiting Madeira, I cannot recommend Christophe highly enough! Our family of four booked two private 4×4 tours with him, exploring both the western and eastern sides of the island. Our West Madeira tour featured breathtaking mountain landscapes, dramatic coastal cliffs, beautiful viewpoints, and exciting off-road adventures. Every turn seemed to reveal another spectacular view. Two experiences particularly stood out. We were absolutely in awe of Fanal Forest, with its ancient, twisted laurel trees and almost otherworldly atmosphere. It felt like stepping into another world. We also had the opportunity to swim in the volcanic natural pools, surrounded by dramatic rock formations and the Atlantic Ocean. These were unforgettable experiences that made the western tour especially memorable for our family. Our East Madeira tour was equally incredible but offered a completely different experience. We visited Cristo Rei, the Santa Cruz viewpoint, Machico, Santo António da Serra, the Pico Ruivo area, Santana, Faial, Porto da Cruz, and the rugged eastern coastline near Caniçal. Along the way, we drank fresh water from a natural spring, enjoyed thrilling off-roading, visited Santana’s traditional thatched-roof houses, and sampled local sugarcane products. One of our family’s favorite memories was feeding wild Madeira chaffinches directly from our hands near Ribeiro Frio! Our children absolutely loved it. These unexpected experiences made the day so much more special than a typical sightseeing tour. But what truly set these tours apart was Christophe himself. He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, an excellent driver, and genuinely passionate about sharing Madeira with us. He made our family feel comfortable and never made the experience feel rushed. It felt more like exploring the island with a knowledgeable local friend or brother than following a standard tour itinerary. My advice: If you can, book both the East and West tours with Christophe! The two sides of Madeira are remarkably different, and seeing both gave us a much deeper appreciation for this beautiful island. We’ve traveled to many places as a family, and we’ve learned that the people you meet often shape your most lasting memories. Christophe was certainly one of those people. We had an amazing day with Christophe exploring the west and north highlights of Madeira. He was so knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun from start to finish! We recommend Christophe highly! We would have booked another day with him to see the east side of the island but his schedule was full for the rest of our stay. This tour was bizarrely recommended by a nurse at our medical centre. She recommended booking directly with Christophe which we did. The day didn't disappoint. We visited all the highlights of north and west Madeira on a fun filled jeep tour. Christophe was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the island. The small group meant it was set at our pace and we could linger or move on depending on how we felt. Christophe was a wonderful and pleasant guide and we would fully recommend this tour with him. We are considering booking him for a tour of the east part of the island.

Absolutely brilliant day with Christof who speaks fluent English. He was so informative and a great tour guide. He took us to all the points of interest before all the other tours arrived so it wasnt too busy. The off road journey standing up in the jeep was amazing. We visited Porto Maniz and also Camera de Lobo both were lovely. If you decide to book a tour book this one.

I was initially reluctant to book a tour in Madeira, as these experiences are often too commercial and not really worth it. This tour, however, was completely different. It's a family-run business, and Christophe is a five-star guide. We never felt like we were on a "tour" — it felt like exploring the island with a friend. Brilliant tour of the island, if you are thinking of booking one book this one! Everything about the tour was right, including amending the final section to our preferences/ when the original bar we had planned to go to was closed. Cristophe also took the time to explain every stop to us and point out good restaurants for lunch when we noticed that other guides had just left their groups.

The tour was amazing, really opened the understanding of the island without being too formal. The guide is fantastic and very funny. We chose it because it gave 2 hours stop over in Porto Moniz and you DO need this time if you want to swim. And you do want to swim there.

Christopher was the best guide we could have asked for. He made sure that we saw all the places, we really saw everything of Madeira. He took the time at each place and also explained everything in details about the island including history, animals, flowers, food and much more. He has a good humor which elevates the experience. Christopher is the best guide I have ever met. Very professional, came to pick us up and brought us back home. Such a smart man, knows a lot about the island and not only tells you about the history/vegetation of the island, but also makes you experience the island by letting you try the local delicacies, smell and feel the plants, let you stand in the land rover with the open roof and go off roads, shows you the hidden gems of the island that you cannot find on the internet. He listens to his guests and their wishes for the places they want to visits and has awesome recommendations. We really enjoyed our time thanks to him. Thank you lots!

He moved through the streets and back roads with precision. We stood up in Landrover riding up the mountain ridge 5000 feet up. Truely once in life time experience!

Terrific way to see more of Funchal and the different microclimates as you climb to higher altitudes. Despite a rainy and cloudy day, our driver Christophe still made it a very enjoyable experience. His knowledge, and humour, makes this a must-do trip.

We were 5 girls and spent a full day on a day tour in Madiera and it was easily the highlight of our trip! Awesome experience by very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy guide Christophe. We learned so much about Madeira, the history , culture and botany. Christophe adapted the tour to suit our preferences and interests. I think this would make equally a fun tour for young friends (off roading and standing up in jeep) or a more informative tour ( and still fun!) trip for older customers. It was great, exciting day and we felt safe at all times. The West tour was so good we went again on an East tour and asked Christophe to find a beautiful quiet levada for us to try . It was brilliant. I dont often write reviews but these two days were the best of our 2 week holiday. It is easy to communicate with Christophe by what’s app and easy and affordable to arrange your perfect day .

This was a fabulous experience. We took the west side tour first and were so taken with the experience we went back and did the east side a couple of days later.
