Andre went out of his way to assist all of us including my handicapped friend. He made sure he saw everything we were able to experience. Nice excursion.

Hear also about Winston Churchill’s historic visit, which inspired some of his famous paintings From the bay. After the introduction, guests take a short walk through the village, passing Churchill’s statue and several creative monuments made from recycled materials, including a striking monk seal sculpture. The stroll continues to the opposite side of the bay, offering an incredible panoramic view of the coastline and the charming village.
Stop at Quinta de Santo António, at SafariCo’s private and exclusive viewpoint, offering an incredible panorama over the company’s own sugarcane fields. Here, guests receive a brief explanation of local agriculture, including the traditional methods used in sugarcane cultivation and the region’s favorable conditions for growing grapes, both proudly produced by SafariCo.
Stop at a local bar, a typical Madeiran tasca, for a tasting of poncha, the island’s traditional drink. Here, guests enjoy an authentic atmosphere while the guide explains how poncha is made, from the fresh citrus and local sugarcane rum to the traditional mixing technique. The guide may even prepare a poncha on the spot, giving everyone a genuine taste of Madeira’s heritage and its long-standing fishermen’s tradition.
Brief stops for photos at several stunning viewpoints along backroads known only by locals, offering unique landscapes and incredible scenery.
Visit the panoramic viewpoint of Boca dos Namorados, offering a breathtaking view over Nun´s Valley. Excellent experience with Safari Madeira! Everything was very well organized, punctual and professional. Our driver was very kind, patient and attentive, and we truly enjoyed every stop along the way. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had the opportunity to have a personal and special experience with our guide and it was super fun
Had such a fun day! Our guide Silva was very knowledgeable and super friendly! We had a full day of visiting local villages, beautiful viewpoints and had the chance to try some traditional Madeira Wine and Poncha. The food at the restaurant we stopped off at was amazing.
Great company and experienced guide. Fantastic time.
Having looked forward to this trip we received an email from Tripadvisor to state that the tour was cancelled. The issue I have with this was it was too late to book an alternative and no reason was given.
Our guide, Alexis, was a local who had in-depth knowledge of the area. We stopped for local drinks at out of the way places. A memorable day.
Although we had a rental car, we decided to book this tour because we wanted to experience Madeira from a local’s perspective—and what can I say, we were not disappointed. Alex was not only very friendly but also an extremely knowledgeable guide. He patiently answered all of our questions—and there were quite a few—and shared a lot of interesting insights about his homeland. You could really feel his love for his country and the passion with which he conveys it. He also gave us additional tips (including GPS coordinates) for our remaining days in Madeira. Conclusion: SafariCo - an absolutely recommendable agency!
This trip to explore Madeira was the absolute highlight of our cruise stop. While we enjoyed beautiful Funchal, the inland beauty of the island was best experienced on this trip. We really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful viewpoints Madeira had to offer. Getting off-road allowed us to see the "real" Madeira and our guide was knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend
This was the most amazing tour with the team giving us spectacular views and ending with a local bar where we were made a poncha by our outstanding guide. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
The tour in the south of the island was very nice—but… We had specifically booked the tour in German, but unfortunately, the driver didn't speak German. He used a translation device for the limited information he gave us as our tour guide. This device worked when we were parked and could be understood even from the back seat. However, the translation couldn't be used while driving, meaning we couldn't ask any questions. When the driver was using the device, the translation was too quiet to be understood from the back seat.
We had a wonderful day with Andre. His knowledge of the island is fantastic and he kept us very entertained. This was one of our favorite parts of our trip. Thanks Andre!
Andrea was a fantastic tour guide. We had an extremely local experience, visiting less-known viewpoints and enjoying poncha from a local bar in the mountains. Incredible.
We had booked a German tour, but the one was unfortunately sick. The tour was then in English but there was a translator if we did not understand information. Our tour guide Andre has given us an unforgettable trip! There were both spots that are typical for tourists, but also some stops that made us experience typical Madeira! Around it was really nice! Offroad was sensational too!
Hello Andre, we really liked the trip or the tour. We are totally thrilled and impressed by the islands. Christopher is a very nice, likeable driver💪❣️He showed us an incredible amount, explained everything calmly and made the whole day very special for us. You can tell immediately that he does his job with a heart. We loved him, the ride and the whole tour. Thank you for this wonderful day! Highly recommended🫶See you soon
