The show is wonderful. They give you the history of Fado music and its origin, which shows that we are connected in more ways than one especially through music. Music is an escape through hard times and a necessary part of celebrating. This shows s my second time at this show. The first was earlier this year with husband and friends. This time just hubby and I and we throughly enjoyed it AGAIN.

Interesting, informative and entertaining
Beautiful show. Singers and musicians were very talented and committed to Fado art. It was a bit uncomfortable as the space had no air and become very warm inside
A lovely introduction to Portuguese folk music, this intimate 50-minute Fado performance was both moving and informative. Between the beautifully lyrical songs, the performers shared fascinating insights into the origins and traditions of Fado, explaining its history and introducing the instruments that accompany its deeply emotive melodies. As we listened, we enjoyed a glass of Madeiran wine, which added to the authentic atmosphere and enhanced the overall experience. The combination of heartfelt music, engaging storytelling, and the cosy setting made for a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable evening. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the soul of Portuguese culture.
The show was very nice! I loved how the performers not only beautifully sang Fado but also explained the history behind it. I recommend!
Wonderful concert with history of the genre.
Beautiful evening with great and passionate singers in an historic building. Perfect amount of time.
Excellent show! Set in a beautiful, cozy venue, we were treated to a delicious glass of Madeira wine and sat in the front row. The singing was fantastic by all performers. We were given explanations of how the genre came to be and the meanings of the songs. We had never been to a Fado performance before and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We learned about the history, savoured the music and are now fans! An excellent show!
It was very soulful and uplifting - Sofia was amazing and her translation helped to understand Fado music for a foreigner like me who doesn’t speak Portuguese
We really enjoyed discovering the history of Fado, which was pitched at exactly the right level for us. I did know a bit about it - but certainly not as much as I thought I did! We also enjoyed the performances!!
This was truly a great experience. The atmosphere is cosy with the subdued lighting and the performers are great at their craft. I thoroughly enjoyed both hearing about the history of the songs performed and fado in general, and listening to the songs themselves. It's obvious the artists care about the music and it elevates the already wonderful performance even more. The local wine was perfect to go along with this experience. All in all a very nice way to spend an evening and I highly recommend it.
This was a wonderful show, worth dedicating 50 minutes of your time Much more than dinner entertainment, this show has 4 musicians, passionate about their craft, sharing fado in an accessible way. Enjoy the intimate setting & get transported into stories about Life.
Wonderful experience, the history of fado very well explained, the singing and playing were amazing. Definitely a show to not miss. Thank you all
This was truly great. We get to be in stunning room in silence, listening and learning about fado, while we drink madeira wine. Will do again when I return!
Really glad we caught this while we were still in Funchal, Madeira. It was a nice, intimate venue, I'm guessing a whole different experience than the show we had hoped to see in Lisbon. The male and female singers had great voices, his was actually exceptional, and they told the history behind Fado and each song they sang. The 2 guitarists were really talented as well, plus we were served very delicious locally produced port. We can highly recommend this show! (Apologies for the poor quality of the 2 photos, they were screen grabs from videos and the venue was subdued lighting).
We enjoyed the history lessons and appreciated the guitar music and the Madeira wine more than the singing. It would have been exciting to see some younger people involved in the performances as I'm sure there are lots of local up and coming talent!
The singers were very good. The guitars and instrument players very good. The room was small, dark, and hot. We sat on plastic chairs. The singers knew some English and did ok translating the songs and information and history for us. I think we paid way too much for this experience. I would suggest half of what we paid is reasonable. If this was held in a local bar or place they really sang Fado, it would have had a good atmosphere.
Authentic and soulful! The Fado show was a moving journey through Portuguese music and emotion. Beautiful music.
We found the balance between learning about and listening to authentic Fado singing an playing well taken care of. We very much appreciated this event and found the guitar-players and singers high class. Recommended.
A wonderful experience, both for the body and the soul. I would feel my short but intensive visit to Madeira is somehow incomplete without this concert. Great Artists, soothing music, nice historic interior and a deep dive into the history of Portugal. Go and see/hear/taste for yourself.
Just started performing in Madeira this is an hour of beautiful music that will touch your soul. And if you are value orientated it is an absolute bargain to witness such vocular talent backed by classical and Portuguese guitars. Loved every minute of it.
Very beautiful 1-hour concert. Only shame, no translation in French, only in English..but the music, the fado was a treat to listen to!
Highly recommended! Great 50 minutes, great performers, gives a completely different picture about Fado.
Nice show and being a small room you could hear and feel the music perfectly. I'll be back as soon as I get another chance.
Very cozy space and with excellent lighting. A memorable experience for those who want to know the fado world better, accompanied by a good glass of Madeira wine.
Topper that deserves more attention. A 50-minute journey through the history of fado. Didn't understand a word, but the goose bumps were on my arms. Touched by the music made by 4 people.
Unique experience accompanied by a beautiful wood wine! Very welcoming place , fantastic musicians , explained everything about fado and its origins !
