We were a party of 6 adults from Bonnie Scotland 🏴 on a private tour with Roberto from Madeira Electric Tours as our personal guide. We booked well in advance with Roberto as they had excellent reviews and feedback. We had planned a private tour of both sides of the island but unfortunately it was a rainy day with significant fog at higher levels. Roberto adjusted the tour for us on the basis of the weather which was a great choice. In his very comfortable and silent electric Mercedes we had a great time visiting many towns and sites on the south west coast of the island. Roberto was very knowledgeable and attentive to our comfort and any of our needs. There was no rush with plenty time to savour the views, enjoy a local restaurant for lunch and sample Poncha at a local bar. All extremely enjoyable. We had a wonderful day from our pick up from our hotel at 10am till our drop off around 5pm. I can wholeheartedly recommend Roberta and Madeira Electric Tours if you want to explore the island.

Despite the poor weather Roberto managed to give us a comprehensive introduction to Madeira. He was a fount of knowledge about all matters Madeiran, the vehicle was really comfortable for the 6 of us and we had a great day.

We had an absolutely brilliant day on our private tour with Robbie, exploring the island which has been the highlight of our holiday in Madeira. Robbie was a fantastic guide and host with deep knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for the island. Robbie gave us invaluable context to the places we visited, took us to some hidden gems and gave us lots of tips and ideas for the rest of our stay. We really appreciated all the facts, history and pointing out the flora and fauna in each area. Robbie was a great host and keen to tailor the tour to our needs and ensure we had a great experience. His flexibility and expert knowledge allowed us to navigate the island on a very stormy day and avoid the worst of the weather at each location, which was an amazing feat. The electric vehicle was very comfortable and a smooth sustainable drive. I can not recommend Robbie and Madeira Electric Tour highly enough and will definitely be using them when we visit Madeira again

Calling it a tour doesn’t even come close, it was more like this emotional, hilarious, slightly wild adventure that we’ll never forget. And Roberto is total legend. He is not just a guide– he was our hype man, DJ, therapist, amateur photographer, and I’m still not convinced he’s not a retired rockstar. From the first minute we felt safe and just completely full of joy. Every stop felt like a scene from a movie– jaw-dropping views, charming little villages, the cosiest restaurants, and let’s just say... a lot of poncha and Madeira wine (I’m almost certain we tried every single flavour). And honestly… If my bachelorette event hadn’t been cancelled literally an hour before it was supposed to start, we probably would’ve just had a fun night, a rough hangover, and remembered, like, half of it. But instead– we got something way more special– real moments, spontaneous adventures, and memories that feel like sunshine sealed up in our hearts. Thank you big time for all of it. 100% recommended, no question, just do it.
Our hotel recommended Madeira Electric Tours, and it turned out to be one of the best parts of our short holiday. I was traveling with my parents and three kids, and this tour was perfect for all of us. Our guide was amazing: friendly, knowledgeable, and great with both adults and kids.
