Today was our last day, and honestly, I just didn’t feel like leaving! Unfortunately, there aren’t many direct flights to and from New York, otherwise I would definitely be coming back soon. I stayed in the Presidential Corner Suite, which had spectacular views of the ocean and Funchal, especially at night. The rooms offer great value for the price, and I was very happy with the buffet and the pools. A special mention goes to the on-site spa and sauna, which were wonderful additions to the stay. Marisa deserves special recognition for doing such a great job accommodating me and my parents — her hospitality and attention were truly appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and I would happily come back!

Not a true 5-star experience The hotel has a beautiful location with stunning views, and our room was clean throughout our stay. However, the in-room facilities didn’t meet our expectations for a 5-star hotel. The tea and coffee facilities, in particular, were extremely basic. The hotel itself was very clean, and the pool area was beautiful. However, service could be quite slow at times, and we often found ourselves waiting longer than expected for staff. The buffet food was perfectly edible, but it was quite basic and not what we would expect from a hotel of this standard. We also dined in one of the speciality restaurants, where the sushi was excellent. The only downside was that it needed to be booked a day in advance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and especially loved the views. However, the premium price and 5-star rating didn’t reflect the experience we had. Had this been marketed as a good 4-star hotel at a slightly lower price, we would have rated it much more positively.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Every room has a guaranteed ocean view, which made our stay even more special. The private access to the sea is fantastic, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The food was generally good, although the main restaurant could offer better quality and more variety. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel, and we would definitely recommend it.
Spent a week at this resort and had a wonderful time. People mention that the rooms need updating and they probably could but I didn't mind it. Bed was firm but I slept well all week. Food was great, huge choice at both buffet breakfast and dinner, some foods especially at dinner I'd never heard of but was nice to try different things always came away full. Set back off the main road the hotel was very quiet with no noise in the rooms whatsoever. Large pools and sunbathing areas, always loads if beds available and nice and quiet, Ocean bar for food and drink if needed. 30 minutes steady walk to edge of Funchal add extra 20mins to cable car for Monte Palace and sledge. Steep hill down means steep hill back up. Would return this hotel 100%
Nice room, with great ocen view (at lest mine on 5th floor). Good service but with some common quirks like 5eu for opening wine bottle or soft drinks not included in all inclusive dinner for some reason. Nice pools, indoor one could use hoter jacuzzi but over all everything was nice and competent. There are also restaurants and spa at location, but I didn't use those. Over all if you can get good deal I would highly recommend it.
