This was a fantastic tour and Maik (owner) was our guide. He was prompt with communications before and day of. Throughout the drive, tour and on our return - Maik was filled with history knowledge and he tells it in a humorous engaging way. His car was spacious and comfortable for family of 4. We toured Heidelberg and then did the Benz museum afterwards. The lunch spot that he chose was great. We only had one full day in Frankfurt and so glad we booked this tour to explore the outer areas. Highly recommend!

Great tour with Mike. Very knowledgeable and personable. He was also flexible to customize the tour. I highly recommend this tour.
It’s a very full day of touring but very worthwhile. Heidelberg is a beautiful city not to be missed. Most of the time is spent at the palace. The lunch place we went to was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend. Unfortunately, no free time to wander around the town on our own, which would’ve been nice. But considering we also go to another palace and the Mercedes Museum. It would not have been feasible. Our guide Mike was very well informed. His knowledge on the history past and present was invaluable. Although his views on women based on his comments and jokes, seem to be a little misogynistic. Nothing that would make me not take another tour with him but enough that by the end my husband and I were getting mildly annoyed. Overall, I would recommend this as a great day to get away from Frankfurt
What an awesome experience we had with Mike M. The castle was awesome, the Mercedes museum was interesting but lunch was the best Schnitzel in Germany! They also had the best Heffevizen as well.
We had the best time on our tour with Maik! He was very knowledgeable about the sights, and he provided interesting information throughout the tour. It was so nice not having to worry about travel or prearranging tours/tickets. He had everything ready to go and made the experience seamless. We really enjoyed his lunch recommendation. He was very accommodating in picking us up from our hotel and making sure we were taken care of. We loved our tour and highly recommend it!
Heidelberg Castle and Palace was excellent and a must visit when in Germany. This was a personalized trip and Mike our driver cum guide promptly picked us at our Hotel, and drove us to Heidelberg. Along the way he gave us a lot of info on the place. Tx to Mike's reco, we enjoyed the German food and the icecream thereafter. Book the funicular train on line to avoid long wait times. We also visited the Benz musuem in Mannheim. This was the factory where it all started, later moved to Stuttgart. Good information for car enthusiasts
Maik was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had!! He was on time to pick me up - explained our day before we started our journey and was super knowledgeable and personable He shared a wealth of knowledge about each location, site, town, city and the country. I felt very safe with his driving, well fed from his food recommendations, and would rate this experience once of the best
This private tour might have been the highlight of our two week trip to Europe. Michael made sure that we saw everything that was of interest to us. He was able to give us so much history as we drove. We loved having lunch with Michael in a German restaurant. They know him there because he frequents the restaurant with guests. Michael went above and beyond to enter our experience was amazing!!!
We had an amazing trip to Heidelberg with Michael. The conversation throughout the trip was wonderful. He shared his incredible knowledge of the area history with us. He has also had vast travel experience throughout the world that gave us the opportunity to discuss many topics and relate many items back to medieval Germany. He also gave us great food and wine recommendations! We highly recommend booking a trip with Michael.
Great personalized tour! Mika was a great guide - very attentive to our comfort and an unbelievable fountain of knowledge. Enjoy the autobahn, the town, castle, and gardens. While lunch is not included, the restaurant we went to and his menu suggestions were excellent. Highly recommend.
It was a great day with beautiful weather. A little on the warm side if you stood in the sun too long but with an occasional breeze to help cool off. The drive to/from was comfortable in a nice vehicle. Our tour guide Mike was very informative and efficient with getting us to where we needed to be at each leg of the trip. He is easy to chat with. Lots of walking. You will enjoy this trip.
The trip was relaxed and enjoyable. Our tour guide, Michael shared a lot of information and insights of the places that we went. He was friendly and helpful and we had a good conversation during lunch.
Tour guide was fantastic Well organized prompt friendly Greet itinerary Delicious lunch at a very nice location
We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Michael Maus is very knowledgeable about the area and German culture and did a great job explaining the history, food and culture. We would definitely recommend this tour!
This was my first time to Germany. I was very interested in seeing some towns, learning background and history. I’m glad that I found Maik! I initially booked a tour of Heidelberg. I worked with him in advance as I had an extra day in Germany. I wanted advice on where to visit and he recommended Rothenburg. I’m glad that I took his advice and booked that tour too. I enjoyed both tours very much! I have traveled a lot and toured many places around the world. I was looking for a local expert and found a world expert! He has been to more places around the world than anyone I have ever met! I learned so much about Germany during both tours and places around the world! I consider Maik more like a friendly companion than a tour guide. We had great discussions on both days that made the travel time to these towns move quickly. I highly recommend Maik if you are looking for someone with a wealth of knowledge, great discussions and memories!
If you’re really into history then this is good for you. I had two teenagers who were talking quietly in the back seat when our guide told them to shut up I’m talking. The first half of the day nobody was allowed to talk as he wanted to tell us his story. While actually a nice guy he insisted we remain silent the first half of the day. I am a very patient person however at his favorite restaurant I wanted to browse the menu and was actually told I needed to wait until he said I could look. I’m 67 and as well as the others we were treated like we were children. He got better after lunch. Myself it was a terrible experience
We had an amazing tour in Heidelberg! The Mercedes museum is closed on Tuesdays so we had more time in the villiage and castle, it was magical!
Michael is a wonderful tour guide. He is kind, considerate, and knowledgeable. He explained thoroughly to us every spot that we visited! The tour is well-designed and covers traditional German cuisine, history, and natural scenery. You won't be disappointed to visit Heidelberg with Michael!
Had a 14 hr layover at Frankfurt Airport and we arranged a day trip with Maik to Heidelburg. He was responsive to our needs, a delight to be with and full of interesting stories and information about the area. We had a wonderful day and highly recommend Maik as a guide.
Great trip, highly recommend it. Maik was very personable, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. When rain curtailed the gardens, he took us to another fascinating location. Lots of information, great experience. Thanks Maik
Maic (pronounced Mike) picked us up from our hotel in Frankfurt and drove us to Heidelberg. He was friendly, kind and engaging. Once we arrived in Heidelberg, he took us up the furnicular to Schloss Heidelberg, where he toured us around the exterior before turning us over to the castle tour guide for a humorous and insightful view of the inside of the castle and the ruins. The Heidelberg Castle, along the Neckar River, is a must see for centuries of architectural styles and stories of many ruling classes - dating as early as 1225 - and the tragedy of ruins that resulted from the French invasion in the late 17th century. Afterwards, Mike gave a us a walking tour of the town, which is filled with lovely buildings - all built after the invasion in the short span of a decade (!), except the church which was sparred. (It’s Lutheran and much less adorned than the Catholic churches we have seen.) We enjoyed a yummy traditional, German lunch, before departing for a short drive to the next town, Ladenburg, to visit the Automuseum Dr. Carl Benz (the founder of Mercedes Benz) and tour the town center. I especially enjoyed the timber-framed buildings dating from the 1600s! Very traditional German town indeed with very few tourists. we then headed back to Frankfurt and said goodbye to our wonderful tour guide. I would highly recommend this option if you are staying in Frankfurt. It’s a great way to get out of the city and enjoy traditional German culture, food and history.
Michael was a fantastic tour guide! He is very knowledgeable about the history of the city. He Has exceptional stories about the region he tours. He is a world traveler and great storyteller. You will enjoy authentic German cuisine while he explains the nuances of eating in a traditional German restaurant. It was a great day!
Mike is very knowledgeable and trio was well organized. However we did feel a little rushed trying to cover the Heidelberg castle, town, bridge, Karl Benz museum (which was closed on that day) and Ladenburg/garden all in 8 hours. It is probably better to do just a Heidelberg tour, walk around the town, relax and do some shopping and enjoy the atmosphere.
Loved Heidelberg and the Carl Benz Museum. Great trip. Mike was a great guide. Communicated lots of info to us.
Our trip from Frankfurt to Heidelberg was quite a treat! The scenery on the way there was beautiful! The castle ruins were fun to learn about. Lunch at an authentic German restaurant was delicious! And the Benz Museum, open on the Saturday we booked, had an extensive display of beautifully restored antique cars and not just Mercedes. Maik makes the trip informative and entertaining! It’s obvious that he enjoys his work! It’s very convenient and stress-free to be picked up from the hotel and then dropped back off at the end of the day!
If you want to have an amazing experience, please hit up Maik. He is an amazing person to go on a tour with. He knows his stuff, answers the questions, well communicator, and does things in a timely manner to ensure we get the best of the best during the tour. Thank you so much, Maik! -Hir&Sarina
Mike was very good and organized. We loved the town of Heidelberg! Good balance of driving and walking. Lunch was best we had while visiting Germany.
Tour guide Michael Maus made it all possible starting with pickup at the airport, fabulous tour and drop off at my hotel. Michael (Maik) was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the local customs and culture. He had good answers and perspective on my many history and political questions to give me a better understanding of the area. He has lived many years in the area and his personal experiences made sightseeing authentic! Thanks Maik!
Mike was an excellent tour guide & driver. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Heidelberg Palace, Christmas Market & an authentic German lunch in a very charming restaurant. Since Mercedes Museum was closed on Thursdays, he took us to the Mannheim Christmas market which was, as he promised, so much better than Heidelberg. We learned so much from him & appreciated all his knowledge. It was a long day but a perfect tour. Mike is a nice, personable guy!
Maik, our guide was wonderful and this was such a fantastic tour to start our trip to Germany with! Maik was so knowledgeable about Heidelberg but also all places in Germany. We learned so much and he had an answer for every one of our questions. The Heidelberg castle/palace is such a great story and the guide for that portion of the tour did a great job and was quite funny. The small tram ride up was so special and lunch was great! The small town of Heidelberg is so enchanting and since the Mercedes Museum was closed we got to see another small town and enjoy a sweet treat. Overall great experience and would recommend the tour and Maik to anyone!
Had an incredible trip and awesome guide! Very happy with our experience. Would definitely recommend.
On October 4th, we were fortunate to meet Michael, our tour guide in Heidelberg, Germany. He is likable, enthusiastic, and very energetic. We sincerely appreciate his passion and knowledge as he showed the beauty and taught us the rich history of his beloved city. Michael greatly exceeded our expectations. His heartfelt dedication is admirable and uplifting. With deepest thanks and appreciation, Mirela Luchian and Nina Talkat
Mike is knowledgable and chill guy that will definitely impress you as a private tour. Just want to say thanks Mike, I believe we’ll meet in Berlin soon🍺
Michael was great. Nice relaxing day with lots to see and great information. Highly recommend. Even coffee and cake in a quaint town as a bonus.
