Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Numa Bloc Frankfurt and would book here again. The concept works well for independent travelers. Like any property, there were a few pros and cons. Pros: The biggest reason we’d return is the location. It’s within walking distance of restaurants, shops, public transportation, and many attractions while still being away from the busiest tourist areas. The staff was excellent. One employee didn’t just point me to the trash bins, he walked us there and showed us where guests could find extra towels, irons, earplugs, and other supplies. We also had a locker issue, and both the virtual agent and on-site staff responded quickly and resolved it without any problems. We extended our stay, so we experienced two different room types. Our favorite was the 800-series building without the elevator. The room was larger, had beautiful tall windows, plenty of natural light, and a functional kitchenette. A fan was also provided, which was appreciated. Cons: The elevator building has larger bathrooms but smaller bedrooms. The stair-access rooms are larger but can be noisy because of guests carrying luggage on the stairs. We also paid for the 1:00 p.m. early check-in. After a long flight we were looking forward to getting settled, but our room wasn’t ready on time. We only lost about 10 minutes, but if guests pay for early check-in, the room should be available at the promised time. Our biggest concern was cleanliness. Both rooms had dust, crumbs, the second room had a stained shower curtain, and both showers needed a deep cleaning. There was also a towel left in the wardrobe, sticky drink rings on the table, and the first room’s linens looked worn and needed replacing. The sheets were changed when requested, which I appreciated, but the same cleaning issues appeared in our second room. I even bought cleaning spray from dm to spray the shower myself, which shouldn’t be necessary. Final Thoughts: Parking is available but limited, and the spaces are small, so reserve it through the app if needed. The app itself is very convenient for parking, breakfast, room refreshes, and other services. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location, staff, spacious rooms, and self-service concept outweighed the negatives. My biggest recommendations are improving housekeeping, replacing noisy fans, and making sure paid early check-in rooms are ready on time.
Rooms are incredibly hot in summer and have no AC and there’s no information about it when booking. Also there’s no customer service, hotline will kick you automatically after waiting for 15 minutes. No reception either. They even make you create a user account in order to check in. Terrible experience.
- Very good located. The center is about 5-10min, if you walk. - The Hotel is not directly at the street and has a private Parking infront of the hotel (only 4, but can be reserved) - clean room and easy accessible with a code (no key needed) Perfect Hotel for a trip with friends or your partner if you want to see the city.
I am sharing this review to provide constructive feedback and help the hotel improve, as my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. First off, the location is absolutely perfect. You are right in the city center, steps away from the business district and very close to the main station. With a metro stop nearby and the heart of Frankfurt only a 10-minute walk away, it’s ideal for exploring. The neighborhood is also very convenient with plenty of shops, supermarkets, and restaurants around. I also really appreciated the digital check-in; the app and the access codes for the doors are very efficient. This modern approach is a key reason why I choose to stay in these types of hotels. However, I was deeply disappointed by the room view. When booking, the website showed a beautiful Frankfurt skyline, but I ended up facing a very unattractive wall (see photo). When I reached out to customer service via WhatsApp, I was simply told "that’s just how it is." I felt quite misled, and given that the hotel didn't seem full, a room change would have been a much better gesture for the customer experience. The room itself was modern and stylish, and the bedding was very comfortable. It’s also worth noting that the kitchenette is well-equipped with everything you need. That said, the maintenance needs more attention: there were scratches on the floor and stains on the walls. Also, despite the windows appearing to be thick triple-glazing, I suspect a sealing issue as a surprising amount of street noise could still be heard. Another detail to keep in mind is the temperature; even in April, it was very warm inside. I would definitely recommend avoiding the non-AC rooms once summer hits. On my last day, the 1:00 PM late check-out was a great bonus. I also met a very helpful staff member who assisted me with the luggage lockers, allowing me to store my bags for free until my train. This was a much more positive interaction than the day before, when I encountered a cleaning staff member who seemed quite annoyed by the elevator's logic. Overall, it's a good hotel with great potential, but better maintenance and a more empathetic customer service regarding room assignments would make a huge difference.
