Mercure Hotel Koblenz

I specifically chose the hotel because it said it had a gym. It turns out to be a cupboard with three pieces of equipment: a pulley-based station “ out of order”, a crosstrainer and a bike. No weights, nothing else. Mercure: FAIL. Great rooms nevertheless

This hotel looked great on pictures and most reviews are positive. The location is quite good, within walking distance to both the central station and city centre. There was a problem with the plumbing and the bathroom smelled strongly of sewage. To control the smell we had to sign a waiver for the staff to unlock the window. That helped but then the air conditioning didn’t work and the room was very humid as a result. We also woke up early from the noises from traffic and construction work near the hotel. On our first night the hotel was fully booked and there was no possibility to change rooms, on the second night we were offered another room but that smelled strongly of cigarettes instead. This hotel is in need of some renovations to get back to a decent standard. I would not stay here again. Update- The management refuse to give any compensation for the inconvenience. None were offered during the stay and afterwards the only offered compensation is perks on a future stay. As I wrote initially, I don’t plan to stay here again.

Great hotel located next to the River Rheine. Super friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary drinks on arrival. Secure parking. Great rooms with river views. Local restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Super choices for the buffet breakfast. Also a robotic waiters assistant too, very unique. I'd recommend staying here. 😁🇩🇪👍

The Mercure Koblenz has the most terrible customer service we have ever experienced. The hotel demonstrated a serious lack of duty of care for visitors and provided no support or services at a time urgent medical care was required. Apart from the bad service, there were light fittings falling off the wall and the safe in our room would also not lock, no matter how many times we asked for this to be fixed, the request took 3 days to action. We will never choose to stay at a Mercure hotel again,
