Maritim Hotel Darmstadt

Great hotel for the business trip, especially when on a layover from Romania to the U.S.: rooms are large enough, come with a great view balcony. Just need to keep a good Aircon flow in summer.

I am currently staying at this hotel. The room is comfortable, the service has been good, and the location is excellent, especially being so close to the main railway station. However, I am disappointed with the air conditioning. The system is centrally controlled, so guests cannot adjust the temperature themselves. With outside temperatures around 35°C, the room does not cool down at all, making it very difficult to sleep. A comfortable night's sleep is one of the most important expectations when staying at a hotel. Overall, the hotel has many positives, but due to the lack of individual climate control, I would not choose to stay here again during the summer months.

The hotel was okay. Maybe because I’ve stayed in good hotels before, I expected too much, especially since this was for a business trip. The location was good for my company, and the service was okay. However, my main issue was with the room and overall experience. In my first room, the aircon switch was not working. Then, when I opened the cabinet, part of the ceiling fell on my head, and it was quite heavy. Luckily, I was not injured, but I did not really receive any compensation or amenities for the inconvenience. During my stay, the smoke alarm also went off, so I had to go down the stairs from the 5th floor. Overall, it was not a good experience, but it was also not the worst. What I can say is that there might be other better places to stay. Also, the breakfast was the same every day during my stay.

Very good hotel with spacious rooms and a balcony. The small fridge in the room was very convenient during the warm weather, and it was nice to have Netflix on the TV as well. The beds were comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too soft for my liking. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice and good coffee. The pool was nice, but could have been slightly warmer. The sauna was under renovation during our stay. The underground parking garage was convenient and had plenty of space, although €20 per night is a bit expensive. Overall, a great hotel and definitely recommended.
