Landidyll Hotel-restaurant Birkenhof

What is not to like? The sauna area is spacious and luxurious for a hotel in a relatively rural area away from major centres. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. We had a balcony room this time which was super special and also a very good size. The breakfasts are always a treat, with hot fresh rolls if you get down when they are first out. They are still tasty later in the morning but what a treat! This is our second stay here and I would have no hesitation in returning again. Although we didn't use the restaurant this stay, I must say it is extremely well thought of and always busy all times of the day and evening. They have special nights throughout the year which get booked up really quickly.

Excellent hotel! Friendly staff, good food, biker friendly, good location. There was room to store the motorcycle under a roof out of sight. Not exactly locked up but felt very safe. Exactly what I needed!

Went to the hotel have lunch and do the dream loop hike but alas! The restaurant was closed for lunch as it is off season and only open for dinner and fully for weekends. Even so, Ms Tanja asked if I wanted coffee on the sunny terrace and also offered cakes but as I was preferring something savory, I did not choose the cakes. Upon serving the coffee, Tanja offered to make me Flemmkuchen which I gladly accepted. The flat bread topped with creme fraiche, thinly sliced onion and fragrant bacon bits was delicious and the hospitality was absolutely 100%. Highly recommended.

A friendly reception started the family get together on the right foot. The private location was a warm and comfortable room with pleasant view. The food was well presented, cooked and the portions ample. Free parking in the hotel's own lot, well sign posted from the country road. Highly recommended!
