Stayed here for 5 nights, lovely hotel in a fantastic setting. We stayed in the older of the buildings because we were travelling with dogs, the room basic but exceptionally clean with plenty of storage, a modern t.v. a large fridge and a good shower. The room also had a winter garden (orangery) that leads out onto a shared garden which was an absolute godsend for the dogs. So much easier than having to walk through corridors and down stairs with them in the middle of the night or first thing on waking. The hotel is family run and the owner is generally on the premises. Have I mentioned the hotel is exceptionally clean. The breakfast is out of this world, The meats, cheese, bread and pastries are all high quality, the cereals, nuts, and other offerings are all exceptionally fresh, all the jams, chutneys, sauces etc are all either made in house or very locally (there is a small shop in the reception that sells them), most importantly the coffee is fantastic. The restaurant is open evenings (except Monday and Tuesday), and the food is exceptional with everything including the sauces and dressing being cooked or prepared from scratch in house. The restaurant also sells its own wine. Again exceptionally clean. If like us you are traveling with dogs there is an open field about 300 metres walk up the hill to let them off lead and exercise there is also a walk down by the river about 100 metres away. The village of mesenich is situated right on the border with Luxembourg and the town of wasserbillig is a 3-5 minute drive, here you will find lots of restaurants and shops open all week including Sundays, there is also a market and plenty of EV charging here. The ancient historic city of trier is about 15-20 minutes drive away through the hills and vineyards with some exceptional scenery along the way. In short the hotel is lovely, exceptionally clean, and manages to strike that perfect balance between being informal and everything done correctly. We will be staying here again.

What a fantastic place to stay. Called late around 9 in the evening if there was still place. They fixed it for us. Really good price for the quality and standard! Amazing local home made wine and food (after the kitchen was closed!) On the border of Germany and Luxembourg. I would really recommend it, it feels like coming home!
My stay was very pleasant! I didn’t quite understand that breakfast was free for those staying there so I didn’t go 😭 but she was kind enough to give me a little bottle of wine to take with me in replacement! Very kind and accommodating staff. Don’t forget to make dinner reservations! Their food is amazing! The steak platter I had was one of the best steaks I’ve had in Europe so far. 😍 10/10 recommend. Also if you’re in the area, an hour walk from here is an amazing cidery called Ramborn. You must go!
Had a great diner and night. The diner was fresh and very very nice. Local products and interesting menu. Since they have their own wines it is a good place to go for the wines included diner. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly. Great starting place for going hiking too. I will definitely come back here with friends and family.
Really nice and clean restaurant with a cozy in and outside area. After the order we got some home made really awesome appetizer. The champagne was great such as the wine which from we bought a bottle to take away. The food was really tasty and nicely served as well, but the most wonderful was the asparagus cream soup which was seasonal. I were satisfied with the prices also so I really recommend this restaurant and I'm sure we will go back soon.
