Overall good. Pros: Breakfast was nice. Parking available in a garage. Sauna. Great service. Cons: Hit my head on the slanted ceiling multiple times. The shower/bath was awkward to use / not ergonomic.

Perfect for us. It's roughly 30 Minto walk into the city but we love to get our steps in. We loved to go the pool and sauna after a day out. The gym is very small but has a good set of basic dumbbells, a bench, a treadmill and a bike. For a weekend that's fine and much better than nothing. Can't say anything about the food but they do offer breakfast and dinners but we were always out all day. So ate out. Reception was friendly and efficient. Rooms were spacious. So was the bed. It had everything you might need. We were happy with our stay and had a blast.
I gave the location four stars, as it is in a quiet street, but not quite in the city centre. a walk of ten minutes gets you to the railway station, slap in the centre of town. The quieter location does, however, make parking easier! The rooms vary quite a lot, depending on the class booked, but all are clean and more than adequate. The staff are lovely, and nothing is a trouble. The hotel has both a swimming pool, which is usually pleasantly quiet, and a sauna, steam room, and relaxation room in which guests can chill after their sauna! There is also an outdoor, semi-covered relaxation room, which could perhaps do with a coat of paint before springtime! The relaxed ambience, friendly staff, pool and wellness area, plus the almost-central, but quiet location make this my hotel of choice in Saarbrucken.
This hotel is okay if you’re not depending on public transportation or are a business traveler. The lobby is beautiful, and the rooms are comfortable but not very modern. If you have a lot of luggage or are in a wheelchair, this might not be the right hotel for you. While there are elevators, there are still steps to overcome when entering the hotel and when going to at least some of the rooms. I had two pieces of luggage and was not happy with that. My main critique point however is the gym. I specifically booked this hotel because they claim they have a gym. There is a fitness room, but there is no treadmill which I consider standard equipment. The elliptical is a squeaky, wobbly piece that I would consider a safety hazard and shouldn’t be there. The hotel has a pool and wellness area which looks nice. However, the pool opens at 8am and if you’re a business traveler like me, I simply didn’t have the time to take a swim that late. Overall, this was a disappointing hotel stay.
The hotel was much nicer than what I was expecting except for the surly waiter at dinner. I got a very nice welcome at reception by Miss Stein on arrival. The room was nice overlooking the garden with a comfortable bed but I could hardly squeeze past the toilet into the tight-fitted shower. I went to the indoor pool which was about 15 metres long and quite wide and had a very nice swim. There were sunbeds next to the pool and there was a sauna with showers nearby. The fitness room was tiny and under-equipped so I didn't bother using it. I had dinner in the hotel and the food was fine but the service wasn't. It would be nice if the waiter could be a little bit more friendly instead of seeming like he's just waiting it out until he can retire.
