Unfortunately, my experience here was absolutely awful, and I would not stay here again. From the moment I checked in, the service was disappointing. The front desk agent was unhelpful, and the condition of the room was genuinely shocking. There was black mould and cobwebs all over the window, the lamps were covered in dust, and I even found hair in the bed when I lifted the blanket, as well as in the shower. The ceiling above the bed had visible water stains, and the bedside table was covered in what appeared to be red and blue paint scratches. The room was also incredibly outdated and clearly not being cleaned to an acceptable standard. On top of all of this, there was an overwhelmingly strong perfume smell in the room that kept me awake for most of the night. Between the mould, the cleanliness issues, and the overpowering smell, the room was incredibly unpleasant to stay in. When I went to the front desk to ask about changing rooms or getting an upgrade due to the mould and the strong smell, I was essentially told it would cost me an additional €135. There was very little effort to address my concerns or make an already terrible experience any better. I am extremely disappointed that I spent my money staying here. The only positive was the location, which was convenient. Unfortunately, a good location does not make up for a room that is this poorly maintained, unclean, and uncomfortable. **I would genuinely rather sleep in the back of my car than stay here again.** Save your money and look elsewhere.

Very poor value and a badly run-down room The hotel looks reasonably well maintained from the outside, and having plenty of parking was helpful. Unfortunately, those were the main positives of our stay. We paid around £165 for one night without breakfast. For that price, the condition of the room was unacceptable. The windows did not close properly, the wall was stained and damaged, the furniture was very dated and run-down, and the carpet looked old. The bed was just about adequate, but nothing more. The hotel was advertised on the booking website as four-star accommodation, although the hotel itself appears to describe itself as three-star. In our experience, the room felt closer to basic two-star accommodation—and not particularly well-maintained accommodation at that. The value for money was extremely poor. We would not stay again and cannot recommend it.
My wife and I stayed in room 1. The room itself was good enough. The shower in the bathroom squirted out black gunk when first used. Also mould in the shower recess. There are plenty of products that can be used to clean this so there is no excuse for this. Bathroom sink plug hole also had black gunk growing in it. The most annoying issue was a continuous background droning noise coming through the wall. Sounded like an engine was running. Noise stopped at 10 PM but started again early morning and woke us both up. Nice location but not a great hotel for a restful stay. The source of the noise in my room is the ventilation shaft shown in the attached photo.
If you eat at their restaurant, 10/10 recommend the curry. There's easily enough in 1 serving for 2 people, so take that into consideration. Their family sized room was small but sufficient with stunning Loch views. The bathroom doesn't have much space for things like toothbrush/paste or a hairbrush, but the shower is spacious and the towel warming racks are LEGIT. (You have to push the button next to the bathroom light in the hallway to turn the warmer on.) Great family run business, 10/10 would stay here again.
We were passing by and dropped in at the off chance of getting an evening meal. The staff were super polite, friendly and very hospitable. We both had chosen the steak pie which was probably the best i have ever had to be honest. The meat was so tender, the puff pastry was so light and the gravy was perfect in it. My wife chose the apple tart for dessert and absolutely loved it and said she had never tasted anything like it. I myself had the sticky toffee pudding and again, light and just perfect. The next time I'm in the area this is the hotel i would certainly book not just for the gorgeous views but also their wonderful friendly staff and their amazing food.
