Not the best experience. Not enough concessions considering the heat in FL. Nearly every vending machine had no available water and only warm water came out of the fountains. Food was just OK. No place to cool off but gift shop.

Feeding the Giraff's was excellant. Lot's of walking. The splash area worked really well to cool us off.
We had a wonderful time at Zoo. My kids loved it, go with plenty of available time as its too big and you will need time to explore everything. Just loved it.
So we booked the zoo due to the inclined weather conditions we didn't get to view anything. All we did was sat there and waited for the rain to stop but it never did and the zoo was closed. We re kindly asking if we can be rescheduled or refunded.
The rain and thunder was very heavy. We didn't get to see anything. We're disappointed since we are on vacation. I know it would have been a wonderful experience if he weather was clear.
Very nice Zoo. The zoo is large so leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy it all.
The zoo was set up well. We had a good time observing the animals and foliage. Recommend when you visit Miami.
This is a beautiful zoo- clean, well maintained and easy to find your way around. We rented a pedal bike since our time was limited that day and got to see everything we wanted. Our favorite exhibit was feeding the lorikeets. Friendly staff, lots to see and read, paved access everywhere. We loved it so much that we purchased a membership even though we'll only be in the area for 4 months!
Very spacious Park although that much transportation needs and the one traim they have the times are way too off Animals seem to just hide away with the heat and prices for food are way overpriced unfortunately this didn't feel like a real zoo
We paid $7 extra to take the narrated trolley ride that passes behind the scenes, explanation was great but he got mad because some passengers (2 small kids and adults who needed translation, interrupted him) The zoo has many exhibits, some relocations etc in overall a lot of walking to see everything, there is an option to rent the ride on cycle either pedal or electric but seemed expensive to us. Make sure to spend at least 3-4 hours to take it all in.
The Zoo Miami didn't disappoint for the plethora of fana and animal species from various ecosystems was incredible to see. We were especially impressed with the Amazon Rainforest and the live show presentation. We definitely look forward to coming back with our entire family.
The Zoo is currently undergoing major renovations, and unfortunately there was very little to see during our visit. Many exhibits contained swampy water, and several animals were taken inside around 1:30 p.m. while staff cleaned the areas. This was extremely disappointing, as guests paid full admission but were unable to view many of the animals. It seems these cleaning activities could have been completed before visitors arrived for the day. The bicycle rental process was also frustrating. It took approximately 10–15 minutes just to connect to the internet and complete the rental process. The Wi-Fi service was very poor, leaving numerous guests standing around waiting 5–10 minutes simply to get enough connectivity to proceed. If patrons are required to use Wi-Fi to rent bicycles, the Zoo should invest in a more reliable network. Once we finally reached the rental window to receive the key, only one service window was open while two employees stood nearby talking. After waiting several more minutes, a second window was eventually opened. Thankfully the line was not long, but the process appeared disorganized and would have been much more frustrating during a busy time. Overall, our experience was disappointing. Between the renovations, limited animal viewing opportunities, poor Wi-Fi, and inefficient bicycle rental process, the visit did not meet expectations. The Zoo should consider improving communication about renovations, scheduling exhibit maintenance before operating hours, upgrading Wi-Fi capabilities, and streamlining the bicycle rental process to provide a better guest experience.
BEAUTIFUL!! Wide open spaces and beautiful landscapes provide a great setting for Zoo Miami animals and visitors alike. The viewing areas offer opportunities to see animals in a natural environment; and interactive maps on the Zoo Miami App provide directions to each area. Also, because we have a zoo membership in our hometown, we received discounts on our Zoo Miami tickets! We recommend arriving at 10 AM while temperatures are lower and animals are more active than they might be in the afternoon. A lovely experience—you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve visited zoos in many cities all over the world, this one is one of the nicer ones. I feel its been built with a much bigger crowd expectations, the day I visited (granted it was Wednesday) I only met a handful of other visitors and it felt like Im almost alone. A lot of the space is underutilized so it feels like a lot of walking (however you have the option to rent a paddle vehicle to move around). The animals look well cared for, with nice habitats, but most of the habitats only hold 1-2 animals of the species. Very nicely done Amazon forest exhibit and the Everglades mission. Being in Florida, they should have way more gators in that exhibit. There is plenty of restrooms and refreshment facilities. You will not find a beverage in a plastic bottle there so if you prefer to drink from those you will have to bring one with you.
Nice and clean. A variety of animals. The bikes were so much fun to ride around the park. Check the website before you go to see what is closed.
The zoo is huge lots of land to cover, i recommend take a family bike/tricicle or a tour cart. But a lot of the attraction were not ready a lot of animal habitat were empty with a sign coming soon and the souvenirs prices are too high, very expensive for any low income family. Our trip was less exited than what we anticipated very dissapointed were the kids.
It was a fun day and the food was good! It is a big place and a lot of walking, I suggest renting the petal carts if you can!
Huge zoo. Lots of walking. Take one of the bike riding carts. Food was good but wish we would have gotten a cart. Everything closes at 5:00 so if you want the gift shop get there before 5
Unfortunately I did not make it to the Zoo because of terrible rain then I got sick the next and headed home the day after, but the staff was so friendly and understanding. They gave me back a full refund and I have already set my calendar to redo this event in May
Despite the rain and thunderstorms. We were allowed to enter the zoo. Which we were able to see 12 animals. I still enjoyed the zoo!..
This Zoo is perfect for family visit, kids will enjoy and have a nice time together. There are plenty of animals varieties, including rare spacious from different places of the world. The Zoo is huge, it is better to came early as open so you can see the whole spots. There is the option to rent bikes and explore with peace of mind. Restaurants are available where you can enjoy meals, also there are snacks stands. It is well-maintained, clean, and outstanding. Absolutely kids will love it.
Looks like that are several areas empty, reason I don’t know. We rent a bike trolley, ok since the area is almost flat. I expected more, since I had the opportunity to be in several differents across the globe. Two to three hours will be enough to visit.
Good atmosphere the app to buy the cycles was down. So we did not stay long— food was good though i highly recommend nourish 305 overall
It was a lot of walking but beautiful experience, my daughter had a lot of fun and I think we would do it again
Nice Zoo with lovely animal. It was a great family visit. We all enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Thank you 🙏🏻
TheZoo is huge! BUT there are so many animals missing. We saw about 5 in total; that for a place this big is bad. Its a nice place to walk around, but there isnt a lot to see.
Very clean and well organized. Lots of animals to see. Fed the giraffes. Lots of places to rest along the way. It is very long so if walking is a concern rent a scooter. Very happy we went. Loved the free photo provided.
I had a wonderful experience at the Miami Zoo! The place is beautifully maintained with spacious, natural habitats for the animals, making it feel like a true wildlife adventure. The variety of animals was amazing — from playful monkeys to majestic lions — and each exhibit was educational and engaging. I especially loved the tropical landscaping and shaded walking paths, which made exploring comfortable even on a warm day. The staff was friendly, and the facilities were clean and well-organized. It’s a perfect destination for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a fun and memorable day out
The best day trip! So much fun, the zoo is beautifully maintained and the staff are attentive. The animals looked happy and active. We hired a pedal cart to get us around and it was so a real laugh and we got to see a lot of the park at ease.
Very good my Grandson enjoyed it very much..feeding the Giraffes and the Parrots.would do this again
Beautiful zoo ! So big territory. Amazing animals . Great customer service. We spent all day there and really enjoyed! Definitely recommend!
Get ready to walk or pedal all 6 miles . We barely saw any animals they were hiding, so I guess they have specific hours you can really appreciate them. Over all it was a cute experience for me and my family.
We loved the zoo. So tropical. So beautiful. I would definitely rent the bicycle built for 4 because this zoo is hugeeee!
Not as much animal as expected, but it was cool to see also a lot of habitat was missing animals and did not stay that longgg
It's a nice zoo very big a lot of walking. I've been in dec and September, the animals were much more active in dec.
Miami Zoo is the ideal place to visit year round. There are some very cool attractions and interactive experiences to enjoy. I personally recommend the Big Cat adventure where you get close up and personal with the lions.
The impressions after the excursion were positive, we were very pleased. Disadvantage: not all the enclosures had animals.
This zoo is huge. I recommend that you rent the bike or the ride on. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The food is very good. I will visit it again
Bring water multiple fillings station vey high humidity they have multiple rentals options and just a great price and value for the price
My kids loved it, there was so much to do and so many amazing animals to see. Because it's summer, I don have to say bring water and use sunscreen unless you want to burn. Thankfully the zoo had a lot of places with shades that were very easy to find. It was a great experience!
Very disappointed! Half the exhibits are empty. The walk around is nice if you are there to view plants, but don’t go if you are seeking a normal zoo full of animals. I was not the only one at the zoo disappointed as well. Value for the money is not worth the visit.
I have been to several zoo's and saw a few animals I've never seen. Also we weren't traveling with children ut great amenities for the kids including splash pads and photo opts.
I specifically typed aquarium into the app. Play some pictures.I just showed an aquarium. Add a little to my surprise. There is no aquarium here, just a few exhibitions of fish
Of all the Zoos I've visited this by far was the best. Because of bad knees I only managed to get around to seeing about half of the exhibits. A lot of walking unless you rent a peddle car, wheelchair or pay for a personal riding tour. Wish I had done that because it was a hot day and I got dehydrated. Hope to return to Miami to experience what I missed.
We saw a lot of animals surprise they were all at. Guess they had been feed already and was sun bathing .. lol no but a fun time we had
Really nice zoo, however there were quite a few enclosures (seemed to be more than just timing) that were empty or lacked the animals. We saw many animals we had not seen before.
I had a wonderful day exploring Zoo Miami and gaining insight and appreciation for the numerous animals that inhabit it. In some ways it felt like a safari more than a traditional zoo experience. I would highly recommend for anyone interested in animals. The animals have a wealth of space - the zoo sits on 750 acres - and look to be well taken care of. The animals seem to have ample space to hide away from visitors if they wish. I participated in the giraffe feeding experience which was very pleasant for I believe both the humans and the giraffes, as the giraffes were all lined up waiting for their lettuce, freshly cleaned by staff in front of us. Signage on the animal enclosures was very educational with info about nocturnal/diurnal species, behaviors, population distribution, and diet. The facilities are clean, there are plenty of food/snack/beverage options, and ample seating to get a rest. I do recommend going during the Winter months for a better chance at a cool day. The zoo necessitates a lot of walking or cycling, which I cannot imagine doing in the worst of the Summer. Speaking of which, this zoo is huge so if you're with children or have limited mobility, I highly highly recommend renting a 2-4 person quad-cycle to get around. Tickets are reasonably priced, entry was smooth, and there is a photographer on site that takes an entry photo for free with of course opportunity to purchase more shots. Parking was simple. It is a far drive from the city, so definitely account for that and traffic. Coming early is the best way to get parking and have time to see most of the exhibits. I will definitely be returning at some point.
Terrible. Where are the few animals you have there. Are kidding me. In some areas there's none, others only 1. Stressed elephants 2. WHERE ARE THE CLEAR SIGNS TO TELL PEOPLE DIRECTIONS. NOT GOOD AT ALL. This place is as bad as the Miami sea aquarium.
An amazing zoo, huge enclosures. Especially went for the giraffe feeding for my partner. Extra special memory for her. Plenty of water fountains to refill our bottles and plenty of sprinklers for cooling off.
Too 3 Zoo’s in USA. We were delighted by the exhibits, reasonable cost, and easy to navigate signage given the tremendous size of the place. The only other zoos that rival this are DC and San Diego. We only had two hours which is not enough time. I think 3 hours assuming no lunch break is about right. You will get your 10,000 steps in but they did have peddle bikes and I think golf carts for rent. The only thing that would have made my wife and I happier would be grandchildren but we need to be a bit more patient with our kids on that front, lol!
