April Best guide ever. Thank you for the Excellent Tour. It was amazing!!! I booked the next tour wirh April as Guide
Was a good tour. Could accommodate like 10 people+. Was easy pick up at our hotel, based off their map of pick ups. It wasn't super hot and sunny the day we went but on a hot Miami day, you wouldn't be able to beat getting in the ac. The stops weren't as long as I would've liked, especially in little Havana. But it was good to see different parts of the city with the guide explaining some of the history and who lived where. He also took pictures of us at every stop.
Christian was a very good guide and gave us lots of information about Miami Beach and Miami City.
Very informative, educational tour/history of MIA, its relation to Cuba, and insight into Cuba’s plight, today (we asked, at tour’s end). Since we’ve stayed in Little Havana three times and visited once before, we asked to see other sites, allowing us to see The Miami Circle, among others. We were disappointed by the Biscayne Bay Market, but really enjoyed a Cuban Flatbread at Margaritaville! Our tour inspired us to visit the Miami Museum, The Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, and we’ve just ordered books on Miami’s archeaology and a history of Cuba. Highly recommend Christian Morgado, our wonderful guide!
It was an absolute amazing experience! Cris was an excellent tour guide, friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. It is totally worth your money and time.
This fabulous. Russ was so knowledgeable. It was an informative beautiful tour. I highly recommend. We saw so much of Miami in a comfortable van. Very personalized.
Tour guide was terrific, once we got to him. Tour company, Banana Bobs, is totally incommunicative …they don’t answer emails or correspondence and there is no way to reach them by phone. They provide no pick up instructions. Viator is even worse. They provide inaccurate information and they are rude and unhelpful on the phone. While we enjoyed the tour, it was super frustrating to get it arranged, and it took over 6 hours of my vacation to make it happen. Whatever you do, do not use viator to book this tour.
This was a private tour of Miami. Our tour guide was absolutely amazing!! He was very knowledgeable and experienced with the different parts of this city, and he was the best part about the tour. However, the owner of the company, Banana Bob’s Tours, could not have been more incommunicative. There was no information about pick up times, pick up locations, etc., and the information we were given was entirely inaccurate. They never responded to a single inquiry and you cannot reach them via phone. Viator was even worse. I spent hours making many phone calls, trying to get clarity so that we could make the tour on time. The many people that I interacted with were rude, oppositional, and worthless. I have been using Viator for a lot of things over the past few years, but no more. I will find other ways to source my tours from here out so that I don’t have to deal with these rude and incompetent people. Book this tour directly righ… do not use Viator. I regret ever giving them any of our business.
Ruslan was a great guide! We got to see all the hot spots in Miami. Had a nice lunch (not included) in little Havana. Loved all the colorful murals. Thank you for a great tour!
Sadly we never got picked up at the time given the afternoon before. We waited patiently, after half an hour we tried various ways of contacting the tour company. Eventually they replied stating the time had changed by half an hour earlier than previously had been given. Apparently they sent an email the evening before which I never received. I have asked for the $300 I paid as a refund on a number of occasions and have heard nothing. Very disappointed.
We did the Miami city tour and it started out a little confusing as we were not sure the exact pick up spot, but it worked out well. Our tour guide Haugen was excellent. He was a wealth of information and adjusted the tour for us and the weather. The tour covered so much of Miami and all the areas we wanted to see. The guide was very flexible and accommodating, offering to stop for food and pictures. Highly recommend!
Perfect day excursion! Dominic was a the perfect guide. He was very informative took his time to let us experience the day and personality was outgoing, friendly and respectful to all
After posting about my disappointment Banana Joe Tours responded well to my communications with them and have provided excellent customer service. I’m very appreciative and recommend them. Sorry that todays tours were fully booked. Thank you Ludwig for resolving my issue!
Highly recommend this tour. Chris the tour guide was excellent, he was full of knowledge, enthusiasm and came over as an all round great guy. The 5 hours flew past as we got to see loads of parts of Miami we would have definitely missed out on had we not signed up to the tour. One of the top highlights of the holiday!
I had booked the Miami city tour with pickup & drop for my family of 5 with 3 kids. I was confirmed by Ludwig for a 1.30-1.45pm pickup. The tour guide informs me closer to my pickup time that he will be delayed by 90 mins and messages me that my pickup may be around 2.30pm-3pm. I respond to Ludwig immediately & the guide stating that this is not feasible for me as I already have a dinner booked for 6pm and to cancel my tour & issue the refund. To my surprise & disappointment, Ludwig responds stating that delays are normal & tour guides arrive late and he cannot cancel my tour, issue the refund since the tour guide is already on his way to pick me up. When I check again with the tour guide Christian, he informs me that my tour is already cancelled & he has already got busy with other plans. So I still continue chasing Ludwig for the refund on my cancellation & I’m having no response. This is shocking behaviour because you would expect a cortsey of a response & as a tourist with kids timing is the most important thing for a tour operator. Otherwise when cancellations happen due to unavoidable circumstances by the tour operator then refunds should be done immediately to customers. I continue to chase my refund and will keep this thread updated on my experience with Ludwig & team. I hope other tourists benefit from my feedback and don’t have this terrible experience that I faced with my family.
We had a wonderful time ! The guide was helpful, informative and entertained us through the whole trip. Thank you 🙂
Our tour guide was name Haagen he was very knowledgeable and did a good job explaining everything. He arrived at the hotel on time. This is a good tour for the money. Loved everything about the tour. If you are in Miami, you should take this tour.
It was a good small group experience. Our guide Hagen was helpful and knowledgeable. We got to see places which we would not have gone on our own. It gave a better experience of Miami
Hagen was an excellent guide and narrator, with extensive knowledge of the area. It was very impressive how he could immediately change to narration in fluent German for the German customers without missing a beat.
Greta small group tour. They were very accommodating and able to change the day of our tour without problem. They also found a replacement guide at the last minute so we did not miss our tour. Benjamin handled the dual language tour (English and German) smoothly. Really got a good sense for the metro area with a couple of photo stops along the way. Excellent.
Love that it's a small group tour! Hagen was a great driver and tour guide. Booked for English tour but he had a group of Germans, so it was a bilingual tour which was not a problem for us. Had some great stops to experience Miami culture. Hagen was great at explaining the history of the city. This is much better than the big bus tours.
We had the most wonderful time touring Miami with Hagen as our guide. He knows everything about Miami! It was fun, informative and interesting. Would highly recommend! Thank you!
Excellent tour with a friendly knowledgeable & funny guide. Would thoroughly recommend. Small group is ideal.
Everything was perfect! We covered all the main areas, were able to take photos in multiple locations
It was the best tour hands down. The tour guide (Ludwig) was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about miami and its rich histories. He explained everything very well. He is funny and entertaining throughout the trip. Another great thing about this tour was it offered hotel pickups and drop-offs. I would recommend it to anyone who's interested in seeing and learning history behind the magic city.
Leader was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Promised hotel pick-up is for downtown close-in hotels only, so we paid more for our cab ride to meet the tour than we did for the tour. Music in the bus was offensive when he played Elvis’ “In the Ghetto “ as we drove through a low income section.
We spent 2 days in Miami before flying to Montego Bay and wanted to see the city, having never been there before. To our de1ight our driver Christian picked us up and spent about 6 hours as his only guests driving us all over the area. We enjoyed Miami Beach, the Art Deco area of Miami, Little Havana and Winwood for its marvelous graffiti paintings over several blocks of otherwise bland buildings. It was memorable not only for what we saw, but also Christian's intelligent descriptions of the history and life of the region. We highly recommend Banana Joe's Tours, especially if Christian is your guide!
Absolutely awesome tour! Chris is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend! I booked last minute as we had a day before our flight home after our cruise. It was a rainy messy day but Chris made it very enjoyable tour.
Christian was a great guide. He went above and beyond to show us best of Miami and Miami Beach! Highly recommend this experience!
Christin- was awesome guide! Due to the events happening in the city yesterday traffic was horrible. All in all it was still a wonderful day.
If I could give this company and Hagan 6 stars I would! I booked this tour on the morning of and it was accepted immediately with clear details on what happens next. I was picked up from my hotel in a brand new state of the art van with 8 other people - I would highly advise going with a more intimate and smaller group vs big bus tours (avoid avoid avoid! The info they give isn’t even true half the time!). I was blown away by how much our tour guide Hagan knew, he’s an absolute expert on all things Miami as he’s a local. We were able to jump out and walk around key hot spots for 20 or so minutes at lots of the stops so that was great. I have learnt so much from the tour and Hagan was so entertaining, giving us lots of jokes and laughs along the way. I would highly recommend booking this tour, I went as a solo traveller and had a wonderful time. I was able to see and experience so much of Miami in a few hours… more than I could have done in 3 or 4 days. I loved the trip and Hagan so much that I’m now booking the Everglades tour in a few days time. Don’t think twice - book with Banana Joe!
Hagen was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our sightseeing tour and would highly recommend it.
We booked same day and the operators were able to accommodate us. Christian was very professional and kind. He worked with us to make our trip fun, even with teenagers.
Hagen was very friendly and we had a great time with him ! We can tell that his totally in love of the city ! Really nice tour !
Paid for the trip to go yesterday 27/12/23 and was cancelled by the operator. Still amount paid £52.07 not refunded.
It was a horrible experience, booked with hotel pick up without any problem, we were waiting and waiting and no body could be reached. Wasted half day by waiting and finally requested to cancel but still waiting for the refund
I visited Miami, Fl on Dec. 11-14, 2023 for the first time. The tour just made my trip more enjoyable. I wouldn't have seen and experience all the beautiful attraction in Miami without my tour. I'm so glade that I took the tour. It was increadible, breath taking, and rememberable to my life journey.
If you have limited time in Miami and want an awesome experience look no further. I booked at the last minute and had to reschedule from Saturday to Sunday...all this was done smoothly over email. There was a change of pickup location and this was also very clearly communicated. I was in a group with majority German tourists and the guide did a fantastic job switching between English (to cater for me) and German. At the various stops we got clear instructions to explore on our own and were picked up at agreed times. Overall a 5 star experience. Thanks Banana Joe team.
The tour was very interesting & informative. Hagen (the guide) passed on lots of info! It was unfortunate that we felt we had been 'shoe-horned' into a German tour - the two of us English speaking, the other six, German. Four hours with half in German was a little wearing... The minibus was rather warm, despite air conditioning, and it would have been a nice touch to have been given a bottle of iced water maybe, half way around? We have been on similar tours where the minibus was bigger - especially bigger windows...it wasn't always easy to see what was being pointed out. I think we might have preferred an open top bus for visibility! Hagen was very accommodating taking photos, etc.
This was by far one of the best tours I have had in a very long time. Hagen was the best tour guide I have ever had and he deserves that title. He is extremely knowledgeable, funny, and, considerate, and entertaining. You can definitely tell that he has a passion for what he does. I highly recommend this tour for any person wanting to see and learn more about Miami.
Hi! Guys, if you really want to find out a lot of interesting things about Miami (not only lay on a beach (in spite of beaches there are amazing!) & get drunk 🥴), you must take this tour! Our guide, Hagen, is so knowledgeable, intelligent & nice person! I really had a GREAT time! I'm so happy to find this company! I'll definitely come back to Miami & try to take other thier tours! Thank you very much, Hagen!
We consciously decided on a German-language tour and were not disappointed. Hagen is a great guide who was able to tell us a lot about Miami and its history. The tour is very varied and also offers free time outside of the tour bus. Anyone looking for a German-speaking tour in Miami has come to the right place.
Unfortunately, we absolutely cannot recommend this tour. The driver was about 20 minutes late due to traffic – that was still fine for us and can happen. The drive through the different neighborhoods was basically worth seeing, but there was an extreme lack of background knowledge. It was stopped here and there, but there were hardly any really informative explanations. Our tour guide was exceptionally nice throughout the trip – almost overly friendly. In the end, we realized why. Our guide could hardly answer questions about the places, mostly there were only very superficial standard statements, which could have been put together yourself. As soon as you asked in more detail, he could hardly provide any information. For a city tour in this price range, we find this really disappointing – we have already experienced significantly better tours. Honestly, on other trips even a taxi driver could tell us more about the surrounding area than here the tour guide. After all, we have seen a lot, but unfortunately without any background knowledge about the sights. Now for the real negative highlight: In the end, we tipped the guide appropriately from our point of view – in hindsight, we regret this very much. You have to remember: He arrived too late, it was basically just driven and hardly anything was conveyed in terms of content. When we were back at our accommodation, I received a really outrageous message from the tour guide complaining that the tip was too low and that more should be given. This brazenness alone is absolutely inappropriate. We gave the tip voluntarily and out of good nature – complaining about it is not possible. The messages were also very long and intrusive, so we almost felt this was harassment. Looking back, the exaggerated friendliness during the tour seems more like a ploy to get as much tips as possible. We've never seen anything like this on our travels. For us it is clear: We will definitely never book here again. A real disappointment – a shame!
The tour was MEGAAA I was even very lucky that I had a private tour because I was the only one out there Tourguide Ruslán is the best he showed me and explained everything and you could tell him everything questions you need that he loves his job as a tourguide
In a good 4-hour tour, tour guide Ruslan gave us a perfect impression of Miami. Besides the numerous photo stops, his detailed explanations also contributed to this. We can highly recommend Banana Joe with tour guide Ruslan.
Ruslan gave us wonderful insights into the different districts of the city, history and countless information about the country and people. I can highly recommend him and the tour!
We had a very nice day, I can only recommend. We were lucky and there were only two of us and our tour guide Ruslan did really well, he is funny and could tell us a lot. Thank you so much
Ruslan was a great guide. We had great moments and were able to take great photos. The bus was air conditioned and enough breaks were made. Thank you
It was a great experience. They worked through all the highlights of Miami and always got some time to explore the area. Unfortunately, you haven’t seen much insider spots, rather the typical “touridinge”.
