We really enjoyed this walking tour and a chance to learn about the beautiful Art Deco buildings of Miami Beach. Franzi was our tour guide and she was very engaging and knowledgeable. She took us into some of the buildings to see the interiors which made it even more interesting. I thoroughly recommend this tour. The group size was about 14 which was easy to manage and the headset made it easy to listen to Franzi's commentary. It was nice to be able to support the Miami Design Preservation League by taking this tour!

Who knew that architecture was so much fun! We had an excellent two hour tour with Rick who helped improve our knowledge of Art Deco and other styles around South Beach and pointing out which famous celebreties stayed and owned. Rick is very entertaining and knowledgeable passionate and is part of the movement to retain the Art Deco cultural aspects of the area. We had an absolutely wonderful tour and highly recommend it.

After two other tours were cancelled with less than 12 hours notice, I wish I’d found this tour first. It goes ahead every time it’s scheduled! It was good to give my money to a not-for-profit as well. Our guide Franzi was knowledgeable, went at a good pace and considerate of her guests. The tour was a great insight into the art deco architecture and history of South Beach. We went into hotel foyers and saw architectural details you wouldn’t get just walking around. Also the context of what was happening in America at the time the buildings were erected and subsequently was interesting.

This was an excellent tour. Sandy was an exceptional guide due to her knowledge and passion for the history of the Art Deco district in Miami. I feel like I learned a great deal on this tour and have developed a passion for the preservation of these buildings.

Rain or shine - highly recommend! My mom and I booked a tour our last day in Miami and despite the rain at the beginning of the tour, it was one of the highlights of our trip. We learned a lot about the history and geography of Miami - not just architecture. That was most certainly thanks to our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Howard. He pivoted to try and wait out the rain and left everyone with a smile on our faces. I would happily join this tour and others he leads the next time in Miami.

A worthwhile experience. At first I thought two hours was going to be long. But Franzi made the your interesting and informative. If you want to learn a little history about South Beach and learn about the architecture this is a perfect tour.

Our guide Ileana was super! She was able to blend the history of Art Deco with anectodes from Miami's history very well. She also balanced the exposure to the outside heat with some nice air conditioned visits to the inside of some hotels!

We had an amazing time on our art deco walking tour of Miami Beach. Our guide, Ileona, was incredibly knowledgeable about the area history and architecture. Additionally, she had so many personals connections and stories she shared willingly that were informative and fascinating. It was a hot day but she managed to get us indoors often enough to keep us cool. The time flew by as we walked this historic neighbor hood absorbing the history and the beauty. If you take this tour, I highly recommend this guide.

Our tour guide was extremely informative, and I really appreciated the detailed explanations of both the interior and exterior of the buildings. The indoor sections provided a welcome chance to cool down, and providing water before we started was a thoughtful touch. There was a minor audio issue with the portable speaker at the beginning, but it was quickly resolved before we even left the starting point.

This tour by the Miami Design Preservation League is a fantastic way to explore Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco architecture. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing fascinating stories about the buildings, history, and culture of the area. It's enjoyable and informative tour.

Lovely art deco walking tour, it was close to 40 degrees but our host Iliana still took us to the most amazing buildings and we were allowed inside nearly all of them, this is a must do on Miami Beach,

Excellent tour. Miami Beach is like open air museum and our guide Howard was excellent showing us around and answering all our questions. Ticket also includes visit to art deco museum in the park which includes really cool informations about development of Miami beach and art deco over time. And they have great gift shop you can find a lot of cool stuff

We had Howard B as our guide. He was EXCELLENT! His voice was loud and clear. His knowledge (when we’d ask questions beyond his script) was fantastic. He was engaging. Always looking for shade when talking to us. If you have a choice of guides, choose Howard! (And yes, the art deco history was magnificent!)

While the tour itself is very interesting and well researched, we were disappointed by our tour guide Missy. She was very long winded, rambling, and not an engaging storyteller. While it’s listed as 90-120 minutes, ours was 145. I appreciate that she got us in shade or air conditioning as much as possible but we barely covered a 3 block radius which was underwhelming when there’s so much to see in South Beach. Also there’s a $10 up charge on Viator vs directly booking with the tour company.

Really good tour. Our guide, Rick, was excellent and gave us loads of information about the history of South Beach and the architecture, including showing us several fabulous hotel foyers. He also had loads of recommendations for places to eat and drink.

We did the Miami Beach Scandals tour with a small group and really enjoyed it. Howard was a great guide. We're local and learned a lot of new things - would definitely recommend.

This was an awesome tour. When we checked in we enjoyed viewing the historic photos and antiques on display. Also visited the gift shop and made a few purchases ( which are discounted for those taking the tour!). The tour took us to many of the historic art deco hotels in the area. Our tour guide, Iliana, was fabulous. She had first had knowledge of the events and people who were responsible for the preservation of so many of the buildings. If you love history and architecture you won’t want to miss this tour! Get your walking shoes and sunscreen and enjoy!

We had a great tour with Joel Levine and learned so much about the history and architecture of Miami Beach. We brought our friends who have lived in Miami Beach for years and they thought it was great too.

This tour is nothing short of excellent. Missy our guide, was exceptional. She shared so many interesting facts and historical context that made the time fly by. I would do the tour on repeat. This is a must do if you are a lover of history or architecture. Little side note, the guides are volunteers so be kind and generous.

Our guide, Joel, from the Art Design Preservation League, exhibited a vast wealth of knowledge about the style characteristics, which make up this conglomerate we call Art Deco. His presentation was very engaging, in that he referenced films shot in this area, as well as actors, directors & well-known personalities who lived in the area. This was a highlight of our trip.
