The tour was fantastic. Sheron, our tour guide was very informative. We toured He in ways house first, then proceeded to a restaurant for He I way’s recipe for sliders and a rum drink. We continued with shrimp tacos and mojito. We enjoyed key lime pie at another shop. The tour a,so included a visit to a cigar maker which was extremely interesting. We finished up with a rum tasting and cocktail.

Itinerary
Enjoy a guided tour through Ernest Hemingway's home where he wrote literary works such as "For Whom the Bell Tolls," wander the lush gardens, pet his six-toed cats, and see the writers desk where it all happened.
Enjoy a full cuban meal of roast pork, rice, beans, and plantains accompanied by a glass of homemade sangria.
Stop into the iconic and nearly 100-year-old hotel in the heart of Key West - this culinary experience celebrates local flavor with a twist. Sip on Mojitos and savor local shrimp cocktails in a Havana inspired modern restaurant. There might even be a surprise visit from the Chef!
Meet the close cuban family of this 3rd generation owned and operated Cigar Factory. Learn how they moved their business and rebuilt their lives in Key West. See the cigar rolling process in person, peek your head into their humidor and leave with a surprise.
Pop into the original and the new Sloppy Joe's to see where Hemingway rubbed shoulders with his local "mob" at their favorite watering hole, now turned into a MUST SEE for every Key West visitor.
No Key West Food Tour would be complete without a slice of the pie that put us on the map!
Finish the tour inside the Hemingway Rum Co's newest renovation, The Social Club, for his signature drink that he fell in love with during his many stints in Cuba taking back to introduce stateside. Become familiar with the drink and space over a distillery guide's entertaining presentation.

Looks like a wonderful tour unfortunately I fell ill and could not finish tour . I will say all the activities I engage in through this company have been Awsome!!
Wow!!! What a great way to spend the day!! Super tasty local food, fantastic guide, Amy Jo was knowledgable, witty, friendly and serves as a fantastic ambassador for all things Key West! My Hubby and I are avid Hemingway fans and this tour did not disappoint. We learned a lot, laughed a lot and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Hemingway & Key West. 5 STARS!!
Very informative and grounds with kitties are beautiful 😍
Excellent tour! History, fun facts, cultural influences. Great food and beverages. Jo was an excellent tour guide - enthusiastic and knowledgeable of Key West, Hemingway, local lore and just a fun guide. Highly recommend this tour.
AmyJo was an amazing guide. Fun and extremely knowledgeable. The tour was packed with information and delicious food and drinks, all at a very leisurely pace.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Janice. She was a wealth of information a d we learned so much about local food, history & culture. I was apprehensive to book such a long tour (4 hrs) but the variety of places we visited for food, drink & cultural experiences were fantastic. We highly recommend this tour! Arrive hungry!!!
The experience was well planned and informative. The food was extremely good especially loved the sliders at Mangoes and the mojito at La Concha’s Tropicado Bar. An enjoyable experience from beginning to end.
This tour was so much fun! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and such a fun person! I can’t remember her name, but she had a blond ponytail (Sorry). It was small group of 7 which made it more personal. (One of our group was going to be a guide for this same tour and was just doing a “ride along”). She also was delightful! The Hemingway house was amazing as were the 60+cats! Our food and drinks were excellent and all of our stops were great. 4 hours and worth the price! Highly recommend!
What a great tour. Our guide Shayla was a wealth of information, not just regarding Hemingway, but Key West as well. I am shocked at the value received for this tour. Plenty of great food, drinks, and valuable information. My advice is to start with an empty stomach because it won't stay that way for long.
Such a fun and informative tour! Our guide Sharon was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any question we had! Delicious eats along the way included the tastiest sliders (a Hemingway recipe) and shrimp tacos accompanied by fantastic and refreshing cocktails. Highly recommend the tour for anyone looking for a great blend of history and delicious food and drinks! The key lime pie on the tour was my husbands favorite yet - and we have tried several! Most of all we were sincerely grateful for Shayla and the kind office staff who helped accommodate us as our first flight was canceled to Key West and we had to make last minute changes. Can’t say enough about this group! I recommend all of their tours!
Joe was our tour guide and she was great! Super nice, very knowledgeable on Hemingway and she had a fun day planned for us! If I had any complaints it would be that it just seemed to be a bit too long. There was a lot to do in 4 hours and it flowed well, however we wished it was more like 3 than 4 hours. We got a free freshly rolled cigar which was cool, even though we don’t smoke them. And we had literally the BEST Key Lime pie I have ever had, and I’m not usually a fan. I highly recommend this tour as a part of your Key West experience!
This is a very interesting and fun tour. We learned a lot, had some really good food, and some good drinks.
This was a great experience. Very informational. The food was great. The guy was exceptional and we had a good time. We think of Jo as a new friend and a valued guide. The fee was very reasonable for all the information, drinks, experiences, and food.
Jo is an excellent tour guide. The tour of the Hemingway House was fascinating, and Collier was a great docent. The food and drinks that were included in the tour were superb. This was a great way for me to become acquainted with Key West. Definitely worth every dollar.
nice experience to learn about a person in history. It explains to a person who never knew the way life was impacted him. I loved the house and alot of sayings were set ther
Amy Jo was an amazing tour guide! She had great knowledge of the tour and the area. She made sure to point out a few things at the Hemingway House that the resident guide forgot to mention. The food and drinks on the tour are DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this tour especially if you are a reader and/or Heminway fan! And definitely recommend requesting Amy Jo as your tour guide!
This was incredible. The tour guide we had was incredible. They do tours every 15 minutes and then you can go back in to check out things you liked. There are a lot of cats on property that have been there for generations. The price is not bad for a couple, would be costly if you have kids. Kids did seem to enjoy it.
The person who took us around was very friendly and knowledgeable! Gave us some great facts about all our stops and some interesting information along the way! I would highly recommend this tour to others!
Lots of history there. Loved all the cats!
Very interesting and engaging. The guides were very knowledgeable making this beyond what was expected.
Throughly enjoyed this experience. The tour of Hemingway’s home was just right. The food selections were perfect.
We met up with Kyle and the rest of the group right in front of the Hemingway House. Once we were all accounted for, Kyle explained exactly what we could expect throughout the afternoon. First, we took the tour of the house and that guide was very good as well. After, Kyle gathered us together and we went to the first place for some local food and drink - a great Cuban restaurant, where we had a slow roasted pork dish with black beans and yellow rice. Extremely good and I ate too much, considering there were other food and drink experiences to come. Second place started off with a mojito (with rum!) making demonstration and additional food. Third stop was a cigar factory (Rodriguez) where we saw a few cigars being rolled, and we received some complimentary cigars, which my husband really enjoyed on the rest of our trip. Lastly, we had some really sweet key lime pie slices. Aside from the fantastic food and drinks, and the excellent historical narration given by Kyle, it really helped us to get out bearings in downtown Key West. We had a great afternoon and learned alot!
Kyle was our tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and friendly! Great food and drinks. Wonderful tour, and learned a lot.
This is a great way to see several things in a short period of time. My only recommendation would be to allow extra time to go back to the Hemmingway house and thoroughly enjoy reading all the history. Kyle did a great job showing us all the hotspots!
This tour was AMAZING! I loved the variety of all the stops on the tour. And Kyle our guide was very knowledgeable about Key West & Hemingway. Every stop on the itinerary was special! Wonderful day!🏝️🤩
We had a small group, which made it nice. Kyle knew a lot of information and showed us things off the beaten street that I would have missed otherwise. I later visited some of these areas with my family and they loved then. I went solo on this tour and Kyle made sure I felt included.
Kyle was the best! We had so much fun and he is so knowledgeable!! Would very much take one his tours again!
Great tour of Key West if it’s your first visit there, it really covers off all the things you want to see!
I highly recommend this tour. Walking, great food and super drinks. And Kyle did a great job explaining facts
Fantastic experience all around. Sharon was knowledgeable, friendly and shared many details about Hemingway’s life. All of the food and drink stops were great
We spent the morning of 20 March with Kyle. There were only 5 in the group and it was an amazing experience. It was well represented in the description and the guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience a tour to remember. We got VIP treatment everywhere we went which justified the price of admission. No trip to KW would be complete without this tour. The only logistical information I would include is, there is a lot of walking and be prepared to do some morning/day drinking. If you're OK with these it'll be a tour you talk about for a long time to come.
We had a great tour and tour guide, Kyle. The food and drinks were amazing. Learned at lot of history on Hemingway and loved his house and cats!
3/5 — Decent but didn't live up to the reviews. The Hemingway Home itself is worth seeing — excellent museum-style displays with thoughtful photos and descriptions. The key lime pie stop was a highlight. The mojito demonstration at La Concha was impressive — the hotel's food and beverage manager came out personally and gave us real attention. That was a standout moment and probably the high point of the tour in terms of hospitality. The cigar factory visit was a letdown; the person there was on a phone call and then busy with a retail customer, so we never got the promised demo. They handed us a cigar on the way out, which was a nice gesture but not the behind-the-scenes experience described in the listing. The biggest issue was group size at the Hemingway Home. Our food tour group of 9 was folded into a public guided tour of about 20 other visitors, making a total group of roughly 30. That's far too many for a small historic home — it was crowded and hard to hear or see anything up close. The house tour should have been private for our food tour group. Our guide Kyle was friendly enough, but the tour felt disjointed. Stops didn't connect into a cohesive Hemingway narrative. Downtime between stops was filled with facts about street directions and address conventions rather than interesting history or storytelling. We arrived at 9:40 for our 9:45 call time and 10:00 start, only to learn we were actually booked on the 10:15 house tour — so we stood around for 30 minutes before anything happened. The food and drinks along the way were good, and the Cuban lunch was solid. But we've done many food tours in different cities and expected more from this one given the strong reviews. It wasn't horrible, but we wouldn't rebook or recommend it over other options in Key West.
Lots of great info about Hemingway's life. The story about how they got a pool is both funny and filled with the spite I would also feel.
Kyle is awesome! It was a fun way to get a feel for Key West with several food and drink stops (which were delicious).
Danielle was a warm, fun, informative tour leader. We had a great time at every single stop. Good food, drinks, and Hemingway lessons!
Fantastic tour - very interesting & informative. We enjoyed the food & drinks. Our guide, Kyle, was very knowledgeable & kind. Overall, we were very happy that we chose this tour over other choices, and would recommend it to anyone.
Excellent tour. Sharon was outstanding. She shared many facts on Key West. The food and beverage stops were great. We left a lot more knowledgeable about the area we visited. That meets our goals.
Good tour to some history on Key West. Guide was very knowledgeable. Food was good and stops informative.
Nicely paced. Got some great food and a great mojito presentation. Nice rum presentation. Competent tour guide.
What a great way to start off our visit to Key West. I heartily reccomend the Hemmingway Experience in Key West tour. We found the tour a great representation of who Hemmingway was and how his life in Key West effected him, as a writer, and also provided a way for us to appreciate just what Key West was, and is, today. The tour started at a most logical place, the Hemmingway House. Spending about 45 minutes touring the house and grounds gave us the background for viewing Key West from Hemmingway's viewpoint. The dining and drinking stops along the way included a wonderful meal of roasted pork asado, training on what a Mojito was and how to make the perfect one, served with amazing chicken tacos, the requisite piece of key lime pie, and ended with a flourish at the Hemmingway Distilery, where rum tasting ensued, including the perfect daiquiri, neat, not frozen, finished the eating and drinking portion of our tour. The cultural side of the tour took us to a small strip center where we toured a local cigar factory and enjoyed a demonstration of cigar rolling by one of the few surviving Cuban cigar rolling families (Rodriguez) in Key West. In the same shopping center there was also a sandal sewing shop where we observed employees stitching sandals. I was so impressed I brought a pair home as a souvenir of our adventures in Key West. Our guide was friendly and informative. He was very knowledgeable about the life and times in Key West and enjoyed showing us around the city. What a great way to see Key West and enjoy the best of what the city had to offer visitors!
This was a fun fully packed tour. Lots to recommend it besides Hemingway. Hotel and mojitos, cigar factory, Cuban lunch, etc. We enjoyed more than we imagined. Great guide. Good value.
Too big of a group! 16 people!! Kyle was very nice. Very hard to hear most of the time even in indoor places. In addition, we are now (next morning) having serious intestinal issues. This is the first (of many) Viator experience where we were disappointed!!
Incredible! A must-do Key West experience filled with history, culture, food, and drink. Loved the tour with Danielle!
Hemingway experience was a great way to see key west. Guide was knowledgable and took us to some great local spots. Hemingway daquari was a nice treat.
Great food and history lesson on Hemingway and Cuba/Key West! Kyle was a fantastic guide full of knowledge.
The tour started promptly on time. There is a LOT of walking. Every dish we had was delish! Hemingways home was a nice experience. However, I do think the guide lost track of connecting what we were doing to Earnest Hemingway. It was more of a Carribean Experience that started with Hemingways house.
This is a great way to see a lot in Key West in a short time. Our guide, Danielle, was so fun and personable- she was like seeing the city with a friend
