Warning!! I’m extremely disappointed with Florida Adventurers and how they handled a weather-related cancellation. Please read the weather cancellation policy before booking. They do NOT PROVIDE refunds. When plans are canceled because of weather, customers should be able to rely on the company to be ethical and provide a refund. Instead, this experience left me feeling that my money and customer satisfaction were not valued. A company’s credibility depends on fairness, and good business practices. Unfortunately, Florida Adventurers fell short of those expectations. I expected better communication and a fair resolution, not a refusal to provide the refund. Only offering a rain check that they know will not be used in the future for most vacationers. Based on this experience, I would hesitate to recommend Florida Adventurers to others. I hope management reconsiders its approach on weather related cancellations.

Our guide, Javier, was amazing. Super informative, energetic, funny, and encouraging. My friend and I were the least experienced kayakers in the group and he was very patient and encouraging to us while making sure the entire group had a great experience !
Javier was a fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly and fun to talk to during the tour. All the needed equipment was provided. There were port-a-potties there so you didn’t have to worry about needing to go before/after your tour. Bring a towel if you want but best bet is bring a change of clothes. Great tour for a reasonable price.
We had a fantastic time on the sunset kayaking with bioluminescence tour. We have previous used Florida Adventurer when vacationing to the US from the UK and didn’t hesitate to go book back up with them. Terence, our guide for the evening was awesome. His passion for wildlife was evident and his knowledge on the history of the Merritt Island wildlife reserve and its species was brilliant. We had lots of free kayaking time, felt completely safe, saw manatees, great bioluminescence and lovely weather. As a family avid on ecology, biodiversity and the outdoors this beats all the theme parks combined (in my humble opinion 🤗). Thank you Terence, we will definitely be booking up again when we fly back across the pond. Safe journeys.
Drove a total of 3hrs round trip from Melbourne Fla for 43 wedding anniversary celebration only to be left wanting and wondering why no one from Florida Adventures showed up; we witnessed two other Companies leave with their guest only to feel extremely let down; only positive is Florida Adventurers did give us a full refund. I would not recommend; go with another company
So much better than I expected. Guide was incredibly knowledgeable scenery was perfect. But it is in the middle of no where
Jeremiah did a great job helping us see all types of wildlife including the beautiful bioluminescent plankton. This was our second Florida kayaking tour this summer. This was by far a much better experience than our other trip on the gulf side of the peninsula. Our family had a great time kayaking, though the alligator freaked the kids out… my husband and I loved it. Jeremiah was so good at sharing information about the wildlife and habitat. We were lucky to have a small private tour versus other very large groups that launched around the same time.
Great tour with family of 4 (kids 13 and 8). Our guide Brian was great and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area. He gave my 8 year old a net (called a "critter getter") for her to catch jellies. We saw manatee, an alligator, racoon, bioluminescent jellies and lots of bird species. Very relaxing pace, no boat traffic. A very beautiful and peaceful area.
Terence was our guide and is absolutely the best he made tour very exciting if you book you want him our tour was windy but I thought that made it fun we saw dolphins also on tour
Our guide Terence was awesome. We loved being out on the water at night. We brought bug spray but our guide had some for guests that didn’t. He took photos and shared them with us so we could leave our phones behind and trurly enjoy the moment.
I booked a tour for my birthday to enjoy the sunset and see the bioluminescence. 1. At first, our tour was rescheduled an hour later. We were supposed to start the briefing at 6:30 pm but actually started at 7:30 pm. For the sunset that timing was fine, but we had driven three hours to get there, and it would have been very useful to know about the delay in advance, since we just wasted that hour sitting in a restaurant. 2. During the tour we were mostly paddling back and forth in circles. The location itself was not very interesting. 3. We found a few glowing jellyfish that we touched and noticed a slight glow. But there was nothing even close to the scale and brightness shown in your promotional videos. I was really disappointed. Later, we were supposedly waiting for dolphins at night — but we had already seen them ourselves during the day without the guide. What I noticed was that we were just floating around and basically “doing whatever,” while the guide was sitting under a sign, looking at his phone… After about 10 minutes of this pointless paddling, I asked to be taken back to shore, because I realized we weren’t going to see anything else. Yes, maybe the guide was right and the cloudy weather was the reason there was no bioluminescence. But if you already know that under such weather conditions nothing will be visible — then call your guests, reschedule the tour. You’ve been doing this for many years, yet you still leave people with such bad impressions.
Great evening kayak outing w/a little something extra! Tour guide Terrence was a lot of fun and had alot of great info & local history.
We went out with Jeremiah. He was very helpful and informative. It was a perfect evening for kayaking to bird island and we were able to see the flamingos. Yes flamingos, not spoonbillls. Then after an awesome sunset and a little break on land we were in awe of the magnificent bioluminescent waters. We did also have manatees come near us and see other birds. Great tour I would highly recommend.
We did the sunset tour with Florida Adventurer. This is the second bioluminescence kayak tour we have done. The first time we did a night trip with a different company and this tour was so much better. Terrence and Matthew were our guides and they were fantastic. This tour was MUCH smaller than the one we did with the other company so it was much more personal and enjoyable. Terrence took pictures of everyone and sent them to us after the tour. Very nice thing to do! Also, since this was the sunset tour we saw much more wildlife: manatees, dolphins, alligators, and a raccoon foraging on the shore. And we saw the bioluminescence at the end and could see the fish swimming through the water. It was vey cool. We would definitely recommend Florida Adventurer if you are thinking about doing one of these kayak tours.
First, let me begin by saying my friend and I were SUPER excited about experiencing this. It is about an hour from Merritt Island on a wildlife preserve. It was easy to find and the hosts were fantastic. And the water did, in fact glow with the fungi that make this possible. However, I would never, ever EVER do this again unless I had on a full body hazmat, air conditioned suit. I wore leggings, a T-shirt and water shoes. As soon as I got out of the vehicle, I was swarmed with thousands of tiny, black, angry, mosquitoes. You literally FELT each bite that these demonic blood suckers did. They bit me THROUGH MY CLOTHES. you felt them land on you, bite you, and buzz in your ears. They bit every single part of my body. Hence, three days later I am still suffering with tremendous itch. Pain and an overall foul attitude because of this experience. And yes, for those wondering I did have plenty of mosquito repellent to no avail (others around us used DEET and were still getting bit) And no, I would not recommend this outing to any adult and ESPECIALLY children unless you want to put up with their incessant complaining about the ITCH. To end this horrifying ordeal, this brief description provided was all BEFORE we got in the kyack for 90 minutes where we continued to be tortured. I should have listened to my friend and immediately left the premises and drove the hour back home. Do. Not. Do. It.
Beware! Florida weather caused our tour to be canceled, safety first. This company will NOT refund your money. They have hundreds of dollars in a rain check for me. My family of 8 will likely never be in Florida again.
It was an awesome tour! Zack was personable and so knowledgeable about the wildlife. We saw numerous dolphins, jellyfish, birds, and some of the plankton. Tried to visit the manatees, but they weren’t haven’t it lol! Will definitely be back during August next time, as that’s when the plankton are most abundant! My son and I had a great time!
Worst experience ever! BUYER BE AWARE, YOUR SAFETY IS AT RISK WITH THIS COMPANY! Please do not book with them. We arrived at 6pm for our 6:30 tour. It was heavily raining with thunderstorms, our car was slipping due to the heavy rain. We tried calling multiple numbers since 5:30 to get ahold of the company because we were worried about our safety. Once we got there we spoke to the tour guide who mentioned visibility and weather is not safe and we would receive a refund. When I called the company the next day they refused to give us a refund stating the rains cleared at 6:50ish and we should have waited for the storm to pass. This company goes against its policy and safety of customers. It should be reported. The owner also comes on here to harass reviewers.
This was an amazing tour and a breath taking experience! Shout out to our tour guide Josiah, he’s the best one around🤙
We had a private tour with Zac and he was awesome! We got up close to some manatees, dolphins, and fish. The sunset was beautiful and the bioluminescence was amazing. Would definitely do it again and recommend going to anyone!
I liked the tour, the tour houses Drew and Jake were really nice. I saw dolphins and lots of birds, the bioluminescence was really good.
We enjoyed our trip. There were 12 kayaks (including the 2 guide kayaks) of us from what appeared to be different experience levels. All of the kayaks were tandem and you were paired up to fill each one so if you have an odd number in your group you will be paired with someone from another group. We had a positive experience with this as well. The guide was informative with the bioluminescence & it was a unique experience to see. It was a 2nd trip doing this for 2 in our party & they stated with their 1st trip they were able to do a few more things with that guide group. It was a fun time & I would recommend it. We even drove almost 3hrs across the state to do it. BRING BUG SPRAY & wear light weight clothes that you are okay getting wet. There were portapotties at the launch site.
Dave was our guide and he was great! I highly recommend this company and this tour. We have not done the other tours, but I’m sure they are just as awesome!
It was awesome. Dave, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the best spots. I would recommend this experience.
We had the best time at the sunset/bioluminescence tour! It was absolutely breathtaking at sunset and our guides were awesome (Bonnie and Chris (or maybe it was Mike…I’m sorry I cannot remember but he was phenomenal!)). We took our young kids (ages 6 and 8) and it was fun for them to take in the views and see the bioluminescence at night. Thank you to Bonnie for staying with me as I was the slowest kayaker in our group! Pack the bug spray…honestly take it on the kayak. Those mosquitoes are no joke. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat…great way to spend time with the family!
This was an amazing trip! Our tour guide Josiah was so knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area; he was incredibly nice and very interesting. Being within an arms length of manatees, seeing the dolphins jumping 10 yards away, and then seeing the glowing of the bioluminescent plankton in the water as we paddled around was something I will never forget - and we will definitely be doing this again!
The bioluminescence tour we took was truly amazing! Our guide Chris was exceptional; very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining everything we saw. We kayaked to areas near manatees and dolphins where the mammals swam all around us. The sunset was gorgeous, but at nightfall, the water glowed in the dark with any movement. It was spectacular! Chris took us to an area where the fish illuminated the water as they jumped and swam between our kayaks. Three of us had fish actually jump into our kayaks! It was crazy but such a fun experience. I would definitely recommend this trip!
Great time the guide was knowlegeable about the area. We saw dolphins and manatees. Great sunset and the bioluminescence showed up very well at the end of the tour.
This was an absolutely amazing experience! Josiah was an amazing guide, and very well educated in kayaking and the area around us. He has answers to every question and was so relaxed and confident on the water. We got to opportunity to see manatees, a small gator, and even a dolphin! This was such an amazing experience and I cannot wait to do it again!
Our guide, “Pirate” was outstanding. Funny, witty and very knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour, so long as you bring a ton of bug spray!
My boyfriend and I went on a sunset/bioluminescence kayaking trip. Our guide, Pirate, was phenomenal! He kept us all engaged, shared some awesome personal stories, and knew all the best spots to see the animals as well as the bioluminescence! We are so excited to go back and are already planning our next trip (and will specifically request Pirate)!!
Our guide, Pirate, was great. We did the 8pm bioluminescent tour. We saw some manatee shadows swim beneath us and some snouts as they surfaces for air. Several baby alligators. Then we came across several areas where the bioluminescent algae was pretty good. Pirate let us know that it was just getting into the season. So the luminescence was not a 100%. Still the paddles made “blue sparks” in the water. If you reach down and pull your arms out it looked like the blue sparks were running up and down the arms. Over all Pirate was very enjoyable, he had a lot of information and pointed out a lot wildlife and told us what to look for to help spot them ourselves. My girl and I had a lot of fun!
Although the wind was a little high and the bioluminescent wasn't quite in season, we still had a great time. The guides were friendly and knew a lot of the history and about the animals that live in the area. The sunset on the river was beautiful and we did see some sparkles in the water. We would gladly go on this trip again. We went with our teen children and a 7 year old as well as family that had never been in a kayak before.
Chuck and Donna are AMAZING! The sunset tour was beautiful! We capsized in the middle of the ocean at night on the bioluminescence! It was scary not knowing what was around you in the dark water. I was thankful when we made it to shore!
You will not regret taking this tour or choosing this company to guide you. We came all the way from Colorado to take this tour based on a recommendation from a friend. If you can request a guide, request Ashley and Bonnie ! They seriously made this experience perfect. They were informative and SO kind when it came to teaching new kayakers. We had a lot of manatee activity, a baby alligator sighting, and even some sting rays. Due to this experience, my boyfriend and I will be purchasing a kayak and pursuing this hobby. Thank you so much Ashley and Bonnie! Hope to see you next time we are in town.
Bonnie and Ashley were our guides. They were full of information and super nice. We got to see manatees even a little baby one. One came up real close to the other couples kayak. The bioluminescence was really cool. We saw a group of stingrays that made the water light up! I recommend booking the combo of sunset and bioluminescence that way you can see all the animals in the day time!
Took my 7yo grandson on the bioluminescence tour. It was beautiful and amazing and fun all in one. Josh our guide was fun, knowledgeable and safety conscious. Would definitely go again.
