Sun, Snorkel & Sip : Key West Day Trip From Miami

The bus was nice. Unfortunately, my pick-up time was 6:40 AM, the bus was 20 minutes late, and then we spent AN HOUR AND A HALF driving around Miami to various hotels picking people up. The whole 6:40-10:00 excursion got me 6 hours, total, in Key West. (And the outing was canceled due to weather, but that’s not the tour operators fault. If they fail to refund that I will lower to 1 star.)

DO BIT USE TBIS COMPANY! They never showed up at the meeting point. Myself and 6 other guests waited for over an hour, tried to call text and what’s app. Mind you, the meet up time was 6:30am on our voucher, we got a text message at 4:36-& saying be at the meeting location at 6:40am. I arrived at 6:30am to be safe. Absolutely no answer response until 4:07pm from these so called business people. AND they gave a bogus excuse. Saying their staff missed the stop on the route. It took them 12 hours to come up with that lie. Don’t wade your money or use this company. Luckily, I was able to call trip adviser for refund. DO NOT USE THEM!

If you are going to do one trip to Key West, it has to be this one! Long journey on the coach but worth it. You'll be taken 7 miles offshore to a coral reef, great briefing and introduction by the crew and amazing sights when snorkeling. Free bar on the return, over the azure waters. It was magical and a memory that will last for a lifetime. Thanks to all who made it an incredible day!

Booked this tour for my last day in Miami. Got up at 5a.m to leave Miami Beach on the bus, rode for about 4 hours to arrive at Key West around 12:15p.m. Checked in at Sunset Water Sports right away, and was told to grab a sandwich and meet at the dock before 1p.m by our tour guide. 8 of us did so, arriving at the boat 2 minutes before 1pm to watch the boat drive off and leave us on the dock with who I assume is the first mate staring right at us as they drove away. Neither the Captain or other staff on the boat would answer the phone, as well as management. Was offered a simple refund as if that makes up for wasting a whole day coming down here. 4 hour trip down to Key West for nothing. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time with this trip. Book elsewhere!

This was so much fun! Jamie, Voy, and Captain Ed were excellent hosts. This is great for couples or families. This was one of the main things we wanted to do in Key West and I’m so glad we did it with Jamie, Voy, and Captain Ed. They provided everything and the drinks were delicious!

When they say arrive early, they’re not kidding. We walked from our hotel down Collins, arriving at the Claremont at the time the listing and confirmation says to arrive (6:45am), and there was no sign of a bus. We tried calling the number listed for the operator to no avail, and then contacted them through TripAdvisor messaging. Two hours later, they replied that the bus had left by the time we arrived… obviously, we figured that out on our own. We requested a refund, and they offered to let us take it another day, but we were down for a limited time, and had scheduled it that day for a reason. They would not refund any of our money, and I’m not even sure they were ever there to begin with.

This was an amazing trip. I have no complaints. We were lucky that we got perfect weather, sunny in the 80s no wind. It’s very important that you check the weather when you book this activity. The staff was super nice helpful and friendly. The drinks were good they are very generous with plenty of alcohol. I’m definitely using their services again

The entire day trip to Key West was filled with amazing people and staff. Everything was on time and the staff on the bus (Lili) was incredibly sweet and helpful. Her instructions were super clear plus the staff on the boat when we went snorkeling was just super helpful and professional beyond my expectations. I personally panicked when I went inside the water and the life guard (not sure about the name) saw me struggle and he promptly reached towards me and offered to help. Even though I was very nervous, he went out of his way to calm me down and offered to help. Highly recommend booking this trip because for the price it is so much worth it. Hope this helps.

Lots of fun, great staff operating boat, great drinks, lots of fish, and plenty of time to explore Key west too! would recommend.

So be prepared the tour guide is very sweet but she talks dang near the entire time beginning at 6am when you board the bus. When we arrived we had about 45mins the Conch Restaurant was fast and accommodating and the food was excellent!! The boat ride was short and uneventful, music was more of elevator music played extremely low. Snorkeling was great. Overall I won’t be back to Key West.

It’s frustrating for me to put no for recommending this experience to anyone else because apart from having to deal with the “guide” and the transportation, the activities on key west were great (I’m assuming because they were separate from what we booked with). I was hesitate on booking so I decided I would rather speak with someone on the phone, his name was Mark and he was very helpful booking-wise and once it was all set me and my boyfriend were excited because it seems organized and well planned out. This is not at all how it was. Both the booking company and the text i received the night before from “big Dave’s tour company” were extremely adamant on being at the pick up location early and not a minute later then the pick up time. We woke up at 5:30, rode city bikes to the location (because they made it sound like hotel pick up would cost extra which was a joke because the bus made 49 stops and one ended up being right outside our hotel..) and waited almost 50 minutes for the bus to arrive. My boyfriend decided to look down one block to see if there were people waiting at another stop because we saw multiple coach busses pass by and none had stopped. As my boyfriend walked away this man came walking down the sidewalk yelling to me “key west key west?!” I gave him my name and he said get in the bus let’s go…. At this point I’m annoyed because of the time, we couldn’t even contact this man (who we later found out was Orlando) the bus was NOT at the pickup location and he threatened to leave us there because I was explaining to him that my boyfriend went 50 feet over to the next block to look for him because he’s 45 minutes late. He gave me a disgusting attitude, told me no, and I had to scream down the block to my boyfriend to sprint to the bus because this man was trying to close the door in my face and leave us. In addition to that, he continued to make everyone late by bringing the coach bus to the bus yard to check his car for his personal cell phone… absolutely ridiculous. Problem two, he did not mention that the bus was filled with a mix of people, meaning some that paid for a full experience and some that paid for just transportation. So this caused confusion when he was talking as if we were on the wrong bus and were not going to get what we paid for. When I tried to show him my voucher he rudely grabbed my phone and said “I don’t know what you’re talking about” and walked away. All I wanted to know was that we were on the right bus for what I paid for since he was providing us with no information. I did contact viator and all they did for me was tell me that the trip is non-refundable (which I understand and never asked for a refund I just wanted to know that we were on the correct bus for the correct package), and the man on the phone told me he would personally call me back which he never did. Moral of the story, we were on the correct bus but confused the entire way to key west, given no information, LATE, and were basically dropped off in the middle of the parking lot and given traffic light instructions of where to go … I would have much rather dealt with the people in key west regarding activities because viator and big Dave’s tour bus (or whatever it’s called) was a literal joke. If you’re thinking about it, just skip the stress and save your money and plan a separate vacation to key west.

Not at all what it was advertised to be. My husband and I are pretty laid back and understanding people, but we don’t appreciate being lied to. This is a 6 hour trip (one way, but the ad stated it was a two hour drive). Could have been shorter but we spent close to an hour and a half driving all over Miami picking everyone up from random spots. Why not just have us all meet in one location? Not to mention that on the way to Key West, our guide kept mentioning how great the trolley ride around Key West is and we should spend time taking pictures with a famous landmark there. We both had a feeling that what we had paid for was simply a bus ride and nothing more. We ended up taking an Uber home when the bus made a pit stop & so thankful we did. An hour later we received a text stating that all water events had been cancelled for the day. Glad we didn’t waste our entire day riding on a bus for 12 hours

Got on the bus at 6:30 and didn’t leave Miami until around 8. By 9:00 we stopped at a store for 40 minutes and we’re still 3 hours away. The snorkeling was canceled due to rough water. Basically just an expensive and long bus ride

Loved this your! The tour guide waS great! Ariel was amazing full of facts and knowledge. Also showed us great spots to eat and The Mojitos we’re amazing! We are ruined I have a meeting we’ve tried in Miami has not been as good. We even went back and eat at the place that we had our lunch for dinner!

The crew of Boat Mede me feel so bad; when I said that I didn’t speak English and I didn’t understand when they explain about the snorkel they just ignored me ; me and my girlfriend! Always they had a bad humor ; looks like that I’m bothering them when I ask for some of drink. I supuse that because when they were talking about tips probably they thought that I didn’t understand about it …. So; They behaved terrible with me and my girlfriend.

The weather was perfect! I had a great time on the boat and snorkeling for about an hour admiring the corals and fish. Drinks on board are free ( special mention to their homemade margarita which is very nice after swimming) except for the top shelf liquors. I had time after the arrival of the boat to go around the city and bring back souvenirs or to have something to eat, while I was going back to the bus. Anyway, all in all, it was a great experience.

Tour was canceled at 11 PM on the night before. So I could not book any other tour for the next day.

Traveling with this tour company was a great experience. Snorkling trip was the highlight. Got to see many cool different species of fish on the coral reef. The boat crew was friendly and the open bar after was a plus. Shoutout to the tour guide/organiser of the bus trip Thamara, she was friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. She went the extra mile for all the guests on the bus and helped with coordinating directions and meeting times for the different activities that were purchased. Only downside was some of the people on the bus were annoying and wouldnt stop talking during the long bus ride. However this is not under anyones control as it is open to the public. As long as you are early, you will not miss your bus to Key West. Thanks again!

I had good time. This is 15 hrs long trip, mostly spent in the bus, commuting to Key West from Miami and back. The snorkel trip was good, short but good. Two things I wished they did better. First, once you arrive at Key West, they give you 1 and half hour before and after snorkel trip to go around Key West. Wish they would give you entire three hours so you can go and enjoy Key West, instead of having to come back for activities. 2nd. Wish they would take you to places in Key West. We were driven to a parking lot and then we had to find our own way to get to attractions.

Trip. Cost first, I paid $120 each for my honey moon, come to find out people paid $40 to get the same experience, second, it's says 3 hrs snorkeling, and 2 hrs in key west, well it was 55 min in the water and they seemed to be in a hurry, with great weather, I did pay for a experience but the main part is snorkeling not on a bus for 7 hrs, lost a huge bag of food because of the wait at the beginning, our guide made it a better trip, then when we go back they had a closer stop to our hotel but didn't let us get picked up from there .. great concept but need to be polished up, foreign people have a intitled way of talking to you like your the visitor to America. So seeing that some.people have a wide reach when they give word of mouth you might wanna fix those issues

Me and my husband had a amazing time the best day trip for a honeymoon the ride to Key West was fun we stopped to get breakfast and snacks for the day snorkeling was awesome crystal clear water everything was awesome including the driver and tour guide and the people on the bus we will do this again with the rest of our family thank you for everything

Amazing trip. Which even made it better before the trip even started was that they called us the day before and asked us did we want to get picked up at our hotel. Let me tell you if you don't know what it's like to be in Miami and try to wake up one vacation at 5:00 in the morning and try to be somewhere it is an exciting experience. Then I'm picking us up just made the whole trip just seeing magical. The trip there was awesome the ride was smooth. I went snorkeling and actually lost my phone in the water and the coolest guide jumped deep dived and got my phone for me blessings to him.

Very good time, we loved it . Key west is a very nice place and we loved the margaritas We will do it again

The tour guide was friendly and helpful, the staff on board were also great! The snorkeling was a wonderful experience. I Would use this company for future excursions. A little patience is needed when making the stops throughout the city to pick everyone up but otherwise they make things pretty clear and convenient.

If you are looking for an amazing one day adventure, I highly recommend this package. It may take a long drive but all worth it! Our tour guide Orlando shares a lot of knowledge during the trip and he made the trip lively. The staffs in the boat were friendly *they give you bottomless drinks by themselves* Snorkeling was fun and exciting! After the activity, you will still have time to walk around the area and grab something to eat way back home. Have fun! Drink responsibly! and don't forget to tip them.

Fun daytrip with my friends. Keywest has great restaurants and bar, we had good fun and got a little bit over the limit. They also give us free Margaritas on the boay after the snorkeling, i think that was super cool and made the day even greater 😎😀

Putting one star because it wouldn’t let me do 0. The bus never came to the drop off location until over an hour after the original pick up time. No one answered the phone so after 50 minutes of waiting we left. Spent $50+ on Uber for nothing. (Would love a refund on that) Almost 2 hours later after being stranded we finally got a text lying that they sent a welcome text that they would be late and that the bus came at an earlier time (which it did not because we were still waiting). We did receive a refund, but would never recommend because of how unorganized it is.

Don’t even bother wasting your money and time. We had so many complications and ended up asking for a refund because of how horrible it was. First of all they are extremely unorganized. There’s nowhere to park your car so you have to valet it for about $50. Then you are rushed onto a gross bus that they showed up 30 minutes late. We got on the bus and started to head out. I noticed the bus driver driving dumb and the bus ended up breaking down. We were stuck waiting on the side of the road for another bus to come to take us on the 3 hour ride to key west. The second bus didn’t show up until about 40 minutes of us waiting on the side of the road. My party and I decided that this was enough and wanted to leave. We had parked our cars in valet and it was paid until only 6:30pm because that was the time that they said we would be back. But because of the breakdown of the bus and how extremely unorganized it all was we decided to not go on the second bus and ask for a refund because they told us that due to everything we wouldn’t be back in Miami until 10pm. That wasn’t going to work for us because our rental car was in a valet spot only until 6:30. We didn’t want our rental to get towed away. We explained all of this to the company since it was all their fault and they still didn’t want to refund us our $1,253 that we spent on this horrible trip. So I had to go out of my way to make a claim with my bank because they stole my money and my time. Please book with someone else. They absolutely suck. I wouldn’t waste my time writing a bad review if it wasn’t necessary..

The transportation bus takes forever to get you to Key West and the snorkeling tour is much cheaper to just buy on the bus. Overall, I don’t understand the price of this package and I would not recommend booking through this platform. Drive yourself so you’re on your own time (the bus stops at McDonald’s for breakfast for 40 minutes) and not waste time waiting around on others.

My boyfriend and I had so much fun on this day trip to Key West. Pickup was smooth, a little behind schedule, but we didn’t mind. The bus was air conditioned and the drive was beautiful (especially once you get to the keys). Our tour guide on the bus was so much fun as well as the staff on the boat ride! (i’d suggest to bring some cash for tips) We had never been snorkeling before and it was kinda freaky at first, but incredible, I didn’t realize it was going to be so independent, and it was awesome being able to explore the coral reef and see all the fish in their natural habitat. The open bar on the boat ride back was a ton of fun and we got to meet people from all over the place. Once we got back we explored some of the local bars in downtown Key West and they all had live music, which we loved! We ended up falling asleep for most of the ride back to Miami, which was much needed. Overall, the trip was so much fun and super convenient having transportation since the ride is about 3.5 hours. I would definitely recommend booking here. :)

The bus was late getting us due to a lot of people going. I wish we would have been notified of late arrival but other than that it was an amazing trip. The ride to key west was 3.5 hours but a beaut view of the keys. The boat ride was amazing with open free bar and great fun staff. You will want to have cash for tips and wet suit if wanted.

The snorkeling experience was really poor. They told us after we were on the boat that we could not get to the coral reef due to the wind. The visibility where we did stop was very poor. The staff was friendly, but I don’t think I will do a transportation trip again.

They were always punctual. The friendly and clear tour guide in giving the instructions. The times were accurate.

The area is nice and very beautiful. Snorkeling was just amazing, the seabed is beautiful! And the little reminders by message allowed me to prepare well the day before to wake up on time! Do it again!
