If you don't listen to the tour you miss the whole idea. It's truly amazing. I know if someone made this for me, I definitely would have went to see it.

Itinerary
A monument dedicated to heartbreak and lost love, Coral Castle is one of the world’s most remarkable accomplishments. During their visit, guests are invited to move on their own through the castle and can expect to see walls consisting of 8-foot-high pieces of stone; an accurate sundial; a Polaris telescope; an obelisk; a barbecue; a water well; a fountain; celestial stars and planets; and numerous pieces of furniture. The furniture pieces include a heart-shaped table, a table in the shape of Florida, twenty-five rocking chairs, chairs resembling crescent moons, a bathtub, beds and a throne. A typical visit takes about 1 to 2 hours. To this day, no one knows how Edward Leedskalnin created the Coral Castle. Built under the cover of night and in secret, at a time when there were no modern construction conveniences, Ed would only say that he knew "the secret of the pyramids."

Not my first visit but it gets better each time. Our guide was great and even if you're not allowed to seat everywhere as before or touch everything, it's still a great place to visit. This place is truly fascinating. I love going there because it brings me back to the Billy idol song Sweet 16 and I'm a massive fan of this artist.
Such a wonderfully odd place. It's kind of like Albert Einstein meets Howard Finster. The creator was an amazing and brilliant man. While he claimed to have created this for the love of his life, I suspect it may have been one sided; she may have just been a kind person to an eccentric guy. Our guide was quirky too - and matched the place. We went during spring break and it was nice to be someplace not overcrowded. I also like the back story of how the current owners were able to purchase the castle. A great place for a side trip.
Tours are continuous so we did not have to wait. If there happens to be a bottleneck, there is a video in a shaded seating wait area with interesting, informative castle history.,Great tour guide who made sure all our stops were in the shade. Felt like we had gotten to know the craftsman of the castle with lots of details of how he went about it and a visit to his tool shop. Amazing
The tour was very educational and had interesting history. It's a small area but has a great story behind it. Very cool to see in person. There is a small gift shop and restrooms available. Parking lot is small but was not busy when I was there. Location is at an odd intersection. Public transportation is nearby but about 15 minute walk to nearest bus stop.
This place truly rocked! We arrived 20 minutes before closing time and they gave us a personal tour and stayed open an additional 15 minutes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic! So happy we could see this place.
Coral Castle is a bit like a home that has had a bad renovation. The current entrance has you go through a trailer and you join the tour wherever they are and exit when you reach the point you have started. The history is interesting and the fact that a man moved all these large stones on his own is impressive. I find the most impressive part is that he could live here and produce his vision and not have it taken by property taxes or other taxes we pay these days as it doesn't sound like he worked full time. The $18 entrance fee seemed fairly steep for what the place is but they do have several high quality tour guides on staff who are prepared to answer all of your questions.
It's an interesting place to visit but at $35 for two people a bit pricey and a tourist trap. It is amazing that this was built by one man without the use of modern technology but the tour guides try to make it out to be the work of aliens or something. If you search the internet you'll find plenty of information on how this could be done using basic tools and techniques that have been around for decades.
Its Truley and amazing place . Do some research first so you'll be even more amazed ! We visited 10 years ago and liked it so much we came back ! They are always finding out more about it and how it was made and you should definitely see it !
Even though it was a hot day this place is worth the cost of admission! I lived in the area as a kid and missed it then when everything worked and wish my parents had taken us. So glad to see it and the entertaining tour guide made it memorable!
I would never be able to imagine the existence of such place in Florida until it came in an unexpected way in my dream. When I happened to pick up a pamphlet in double decker a week later, next morning I decided to go for a visit with my mom. The place is much smaller than I would expect, yet the guides are more captivating. I didn’t get to hear the full stories since mom was not feeling well in the bright hot sun, I even missed the second floor of Ed’s room! Either way, it was a memorable experience. I brought home with some books I bought there. Is he related to aliens? I can’t deny the possibility.
2nd visit to coral castle Andrea is fabulous so excited about edward and her ability to share his story. She made the tour just fabulous!!!
Clearly the man who built this was a genius, but from what I saw, he was not a stable genius. The tour guide, Andrea, was fantastic. She made it so much fun. I have seen this place on television but to see it in person was really special.
I've known about this place for years, and finally got a chance to visit last weekend. Yes, it's hot, and the umbrellas the museum provides for shade are much appreciated. It also makes you appreciate that much more how someone lived there before air conditioning, and the feat of building this incredible place. The continuous tours are an ingenious idea--you just join wherever the tour is and stay as long as you like until you hear everything. Very informative guides. I loved learning about this old school Florida attraction and the mystery behind its creation.
Very good historical site ... unique experience / inexpensive entry and very interesting story. Makes a great day trip..
Overall a very interesting story and circumstance. The tour guides bring the castle to life and provide compelling information. It is a full 45 minutes, so I feel like you get your money's worth. Super hot, the umbrellas they provided were greatly appreciated!
We already knew the story of Edward Leedskalnin before we visited Coral Castle. The place is truly unique and the tour is informative (great tour guides). Don't expect a huge Disney-type castle though. This is the work of one single lovesick man. The stories behind the various objects in the castle are funny and captivating. However, admission is on the expensive side.
This is somewhere I'd wanted to visit for years and finally got the opportunity. The place is fascinating, as is the story behind it. It's been shown on multiple TV shows over the years and is so much more impressive in person. The entire structure is made of coral and where it is now is not where it was originally! If you're in Florida, plan 2-3 hours and tour the castle. It really is an unforgetable experience.
We loved our visit to the Coral Castle. The tour was very interesting and informative. Its worth the stop.
Let me begin by saying that I can see how this place may be viewed as a tourist trap however, if you are interested in science at all its an interesting stop. Ticket price was $18 each however we found a $2 coupon. The establishment is small and you could walk through in 15 minutes but that's not how it's supposed to work. We had a great tour guide who explained to our small group in detail the significance of each statue and sculpture there and how they functioned. The story was very interesting as well as the theories as to how the items were moved and placed. I will say that the gift shop was overpriced. Magnets shouldn't cost $10. Other items that we were interested in and had looked at online were not available or sold out. This was disappointing. Also, food and drinks are grossly overpriced as well so don't go there thinking you're going to buy food at a reasonable price I do recommend visiting the Coral Castle though, I found it very interesting and I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else. Staff were very pleasant and informative.
It was hot, sort of interesting but the price for what it was - not worth it. Over $50 for our family to walk around a bunch of coral rocks/the story is kind of interesting but you can read that on Wikipedia for free. Pretty much a waste of money.
very cool experience especially if you're into science, unexplained mysteries or teaching moments for kids. There really isn't much to see or do except the coral that was placed there and they don't know how he did it. that's what makes it interesting. no one knows how he moved all the coral with the tools he had, all by himself.
I heard about Coral Castle many years ago on a documentary, so when I had an opportunity to visit it I had to. It's a wonderful place to see, and the tour guides are knowledgeable and great. How did one 5 foot 0, 100 pound man build this incredible structure? No one really knows, but we all benefit from his hard work. If you are in South Florida, don't miss this, only place in the world like it.
This is a weird roadside attraction, with an interesting story behind it. I love the story and touring the site, however I had one of the worst tour guides I have ever had. The presentation was all over the place and the facts we were given were contradictory to the video you watch and the brochure you're given when you buy your ticket. I'm not sure if this guide needed more training or was just having an off day, but it was a disappointing tour. The guide that started after us seemed to have a better handle on how to lead a tour and several people from our group actually joined that tour after ours was over. I would recommended going on a cloudy day (rare in FL, I know!) or going earlier in the year. In early June, it was about 90 degrees and really hot on site. Takes a little over and hour to go through, depending on how many pictures you want to take. Definitely recommended, but hold out for a solid tour guide or just use the brochure you're given at the entrance and do a self-guided tour
My husband and I took in this attraction and thoroughly enjoyed the property and tour. The guides are very informative and made the 40 minute tour enjoyable. There is a video that you can watch before or after to help you remember all the bits of information. Cute gift shop with nice tees of the Castle. Snack machines available. Easy parking and flat walking in and about the museum. Truly an amazing piece of history preserved. The one picture shows the man’s unique way of telling time, plus the season and date. He was an amazing man and well beyond his time.
This was a cool place to visit. The tour guides helped us understand all the aspects and the history behind all of the different parts. My only recommendation is NOT to go in the summer it is way to hot outside.
We enjoyed the tour of the coral castle with Willie. Willie was very knowledgeable and passionate as well as adding humor to the tour. He even took some time after the tour to give us a little inside information and even recommended a local eatery. Willie deserves a raise. Thanks Willie.
My husband has been fascinated with Coral Castle since watching an episode of In Search Of...with Leonard Nimoy back in the early 80s, so while we were vacationing in the Keys he could think of no other place to visit for his 69th birthday. The place did not disappoint! Smaller than it looks on tv for sure, but packs plenty of beautiful areas. The tour guides did a wonderful job of bringing this place to life. Lots of photo ops available, and having umbrellas handy was a definite plus, we had unsettled weather the whole time we visited. A small gift shop was available, everyone was so friendly. They really tried to downplay the “Ancient Alien” reasoning behind this marvel, but you still have to wonder how this place was even possible. A great time for anyone interested in off the beaten path type of places like we are!
This quirky site is a one of a kind and I think well worth the somewhat expensive price of admission, at least when the weather is good (as the site is out in the open.) What one man can accomplish is truly astonishing and the symbols carved into the rock are thought provoking. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and added to the enjoyment.
My sister had recommended to see this place. We got the senior discount ($15). We took the guided tour and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Very cool place. Worth the money.
As a european i have seen a lot of stone buildings and castles in my lifetime. This one has a funny historical background as it was build by one man. But to be honest: - The castle is more of a disappointment for 20$ - the guides really try to make it appear more interesting as it is (which i appreciate, because its their job) - it was originally built to make money out of it and thats still the purpose. Summary: Not worth a visit. Just to expensive. Not really astonishing or impressive.
Coral Castle was made from tons of coral limestone blocks by one man using only hand tools in the early to mid 1900s. It is not really a castle but more of a park and it is all outside except one small part. It contains tables, chairs and other items you would expect inside a house, but also monuments and sundials, all made of coral. It was intended as a tourist attraction from the beginning. The construction is somewhat interesting, but this is not a must see. It is something to do if you have an hour or two and need to do something. The $20 admission is overpriced. It is not that large a place and doesn't really take an hour to see, but the guided tours provide a lot of interesting detail. They run continuously; you start whenever you get there are stop when you get to the same place in the tour.
My spouse wanted to go to Coral Castle so we went. It was ok but overpriced. I paid a reduced admission fee but ended up paying $35 for 2 parties. You are then walked from one person to another person to another person before a tour started. The tour guide was good and informative. During the tour other parties kept on joining us so that the group grew quickly. Then the group was turned over to another person who did a second part of the guided tour. Again very informative and good. But again people joined the tour throughout. The six people tour ended up being 16 or so. After one hour or so the tour was done. Great historic place though.
Not worth the money charged to see the attraction. Unusual, but these are old ruins not worth your time or money. However, if you want to see coral and designs from it, have time to spare, then give it a try.
