We had a great time. The crew provided good service, cold beer, and was very friendly. The view was stunning and the trip was relaxing. It was the perfect end to our vacation. ⛵

Itinerary
The "Pass", as locals refer to it, was created by a hurricane on September 27, 1848. A pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass. Over one hundred merchants with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants and local tour operators.
Designated as an aquatic preserve in 1968, Boca Ciega Bay was protected to prevent the extensive dredging and filling activities that occurred in the 1950s. This designation helps preserve its diverse habitats, including mangrove islands, seagrass beds, oyster bars, and coral communities.

Be there promptly at 6:30 if your boat is at seven because they will cancel you. They were supposed to refund the money and they never did. It’s been a month now and I’ve not received anything from them.
The Bar tender and driver were great! Great music and we met some new friends! The sunset view was perfect! Great Father’s Day weekend in the ocean
I took the cruise because iOt said it would have wine, which it did, but the wine was disgusting. The music was not cohesive to the people on board. Zach, who was in charge of the bar was very rude pointed me out during the cruise saying yeah Irene if you had tipped you could’ve had your music, but I didn’t tip him any money because I didn’t know you have to give people money to give you good music or give you good wine. I’d already paid $50 for this cruise so I guess that was just for the boat ride in the beautiful sunset. The female captain was awesome. She was great but the bartender looks like all he wanted was tips! Anybody can pour wine and not everybody has a personality and you guys your wine is worse than mad dog 2020.
We live in St. Petersburg and whenever we have friends or family visiting, we ALWAYS take them on the Sunset Cruise! Totally worth the price, whether or not you are a drinker! A special thanks to them this time around.. I accidentally booked 6 of us on the wrong date, and they graciously accommodated us when we arrived on the wrong date. We will continue bringing our visitors on this cruise.. everyone loves Zack and Brandi and the cruise!
We had a wonderful sunset and dolphin cruise. Captain Rik made it his mission to show us as many dolphins as possible and at the same time giving them space to show off and glide through the waters. Very comfortable atmosphere and taking song requests from the guests. Although the clouds had an alternate plan, we will have to go back on our next visit to catch the full sunset experience.
The description said comfortable seating which meant metal benches and also mentioned "open decks". There were no open decks, it was all covered. The tour guide's personality was fantastic and of course the scenery is beautiful but I don't think it was worth $50 a person
So much fun, singing and dancing. The view was amazing and crew was amazing. Definite must do
A great sunset cruise for all ages! Had a great time with friends and met a few new friends on board the cruise! Also met a guy paddle boarding for a beer along the way!
The sunset cruise was wonderful, highly recommend! The Captain is humorous and obviously a very caring pilot, felt completely safe. Our hostess is a dolphin encyclopedia (and also very kind and caring toward the passengers), I did not realize when I booked that we would see so much dolphin activity and the education we received was both valuable and absolutely fascinating (bonus!). The sunset was beautiful, of course we were fortunate that mother nature cooperated. The complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks and water are a nice touch. The capacity is also good, you don't feel overcrowded. Note for passengers - to locate the dock, walk behind the boardwalk (walk on the boardwalk businesses street side, not the actual boardwalk) and look for the Pirate cruise sign a bit left of Friendly Fisherman Restaurant as you're facing the direction of the water, that's the dock entrance (doesn't say Sunshine). The cruise was a high light of our family beach vacation, thanks for a great experience!
Grace Steve were fantastic tour guides and we had a blast! Beautiful evening and we saw tons of dolphins!
We had an absolute blast on the sunset dolphin cruise with Captain Jim and Mate Tracy! From start to finish, the experience was fun, relaxed, and incredibly memorable. We saw so many dolphins swimming, jumping, and playing alongside the boat. It never got old and felt genuinely special every time one surfaced. Captain Jim and Mate Tracy were fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. We learned so many interesting facts about dolphins, the local ecosystem, and the area, all while laughing and enjoying the ride. And the sunset… pure magic. Gorgeous colors, calm water, and the perfect way to end the day. The glass of wine was a fun and added bonus! If you’re looking for something fun, informative, and unforgettable, this cruise is a must-do. I would absolutely go again! 🐬🌅
Nice boat ride to watch the sunset. There were dozens of dolphins in the bay. The captain drove around to help us see the dolphins first, and then went out toward the sunset to give us a better view. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Had a great time, wonderful crew, beautiful and enjoyable even in unFloridian cold weather. Wine and beer flowed freely, great sunset views, lots of dolphins.
Such a fun time of seeing some dolphins, enjoying the sunset, drinking wine, and singing along. The crew was amazing. They made the trip a great experience.
The experience was beautiful. I would definitely take another sunset cruise. The weather was nice. Other passengers, were friendly. The Captain and Bartender were so nice and cool. I loved the experience.
Trip was fun it just left 20 mins late and came back 20 min early. Which wouldn’t be bad if it you hadn’t paid for a 2 hour trip.
Tour guide and captain were the best. Full capacity but still plenty of room to move about and see everything. John's Pass is an amazing launch site with plenty of restaurants and great shops. I will be bringing all my family here when the come for vacation.
It was absolutely breathtaking and peaceful. The sunset was perfect and the dolphins were a nice surprise!
My wife and I were in Madeira Beach for our anniversary,The sunset cruise was kinda last minute, so glad we chose to do this! Captan Zach and Jeannie were awesome, great music , nothing like free beer on a boat watching the sunset! We will be back next year! Thanks for the great experience!!!
It was a great time. The captain and the bartender were very friendly and made the ride very enjoyable.
We have a timeshare in Treasure Island that over the years, several of our friends have joined us. Each year I plan a Sunset Cruise for our group (18 of us this year!). Everyone always loves it!! Great music, amazing customer service (Melanie in the shop was awesome!), lots to drink and best of all, the sunset!!
Was a fun experience and a beautiful sunset. We would have liked a little more details/history of the area from the captain.
The sunset cruise was a fun and relaxing cruise, with great commentary from the crew, and great sights along the way. The sunset was stunning and the trip was relaxing, at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended.
This was the third time in 4 years on this sunset cruise. We enjoyed it so much each time. The crew is so much fun and the views were stunning! Thanks Brittney and Zack!! You’re the best! We will be back!! Ramona and Jerry
Fabulous cruise! It's truly something we do every time friends or family come to town. Free beer and wine with fun music throughout the trip. Dolphins and the sunset are added pluses.
Great boat ride ** DO NOT book through trip advisor** I would recommend the boat ride. Great length, nice sunset, not out on the Gulf too long. Do not book this trip through trip advisor! Despite saying they will honor the lowest price, they will not do this. The trip is $49 on trip advisor and $34.95 when you arrive at the boat ride. They will not honor the lower price despite showing them the web site, the brochure, and the sign at the dock. Did I mention do not book ANYTHING through trip advisor!!!
Our trip was canceled by Hubbard Marina because of the weather They called us in advance We are expecting a refund from them I appreciated the call
This was a very fun and beautiful boat ride. The crew were friendly and fun. We went on my husband’s birthday and they made a nice announcement that made his day. Thank you!
Free beer was Busch Lite and Wine was Chardanee only. Weather was sketchy, but they loaded us anyway. Tour was cut short. Only saw houses and quick view of the sun on the ocean. Should have stayed on the beach and took sunset pics and bought what I liked to drink.
The workers inside the store were very rude. The workers on the boat were fantastic. It was a nice trip and we saw lots of dolphins. Would definitely do again.
Hubbard's Marina trips are a staple when we come visit! Professional, friendly and fun. Thanks for all the great memories!
The views were stunning! We seen dolphins, mandates, and of course the beautiful Florida sunset. There's we're seven in our party and it is something we all enjoyed and will remember!! The Captain and crew were funny, inviting, and informative. Highly recommend!
Absolutely beautiful views great crew and lots of fun! They had knowledge on the houses we passed and local info along with making sure we saw some dolphins even though it was a sunset cruise and well the sunset speaks for itself!
Great low key and relaxing trip. Friendly staff and good vibe. Beautiful way to see sunset. Great value, even better with free beer.
We wanted to take a sunset cruise on our Anniversary the week before and it was canceled, so we decided we wanted to sign up for the Sunset Cruise from John's Pass and Hubbard Marina. Each rider over 21 years of age could have free draft beer and wine during the whole cruise. I don't drink, but they had water for $2 a bottle and snack items/candy bars for $1. It was a breezy night so a light jacket was in order. The cruise takes you from John's Pass through the harbor, past the big houses that sit along the harbor. Some of the original houses that you could buy for $30,000.00 back in the 50's but now are over $2 million to own. The driver of the boat was a young man that narrated some of the interesting homes and things along the harbor, he also played great music that most everyone on the boat was singing to, as the sun started to set he got us out of the harbor and out into the Gulf of the Americas/Mexico however you say it. The sunset didn't disappoint, and we saw some dolphins, after the sunset we were venturing back to the harbor via the gulf, for a few miles. There was a guy on a stand-up paddle board out in the middle, they gave him a draft beer as we passed by him paddling back to shore. It was a really nice trip, and we were happy to celebrate our anniversary 1 week later, and we had our friend with us that we had been staying with. Hubbard Marina and the Sunset Cruise are great and everyone should take one of their cruises when in the area! The cost is really reasonable, we hope to do another cruise next year when back in the area of Treasure Island and John's Pass.
This activity is a complete hit or miss. Do not believe the operator's description - it can change for no apparent reason. We went with my sister, her son and his wife. My sib has done this cruise three times and really enjoyed it. It includes (supposed to include) a ride down the intracoastal to St. Pete Beach, through Blind Pass, into the gulf for sunset and then a return along the beaches. This night the boat never left the bay at St. Johns in Madeira Beach. We saw some dolphins and the sunset from the gulf There was no trip down the inter-coastal to St. Pete Beach. Boring puts it mildly. If you want to see the homes of Madeira Beach (from the abandoned to the McMansion) and the broken docks, this might be the cruise for you. If you love to drink and want to be served even while intoxicated, this cruise is for you too. We got to the rendezvous area at 6:45PM. No one from the ship came. We and about 12-15 others who were waiting finally ran to the dock and saw the boat was almost full. There were seats for us (party of 5). However the boat was already loaded with drunks who were hooting and hollering even before we left the wharf. We were surrounded by them the entire trip. As soon as we cast off the same drunks (there was a group of about 15 of them) queued up to the bar (unlimited wine and beer is included in the ride). They never left the poor lass in charge of the pours alone during the ninety minute ordeal. The music blasted (it was a good play list) but it was impossible to hear the captain and his narrative. He never turned the music off. The begging for tips is painful. The captain is so poorly paid he needs them to feed his five children. We were really disappointed. My sister was embarrassed. If you go, be prepared for the unpleasantly unexpected.
Don’t miss this sunset cruise. You’ll get a beautiful look at the intracoastal and the gulf for the sunset. We saw a bunch of dolphins too. Great staff!!! Free beer and wine with some awesome tunes. It was our second time going on this cruise. Highly recommend!!! We’ll be back. Thanks!
It was a great evening trip! The weather was good, the boat captain and bartender were both capable and sometimes humorous. The wine was good, the views great. We were able to take photos of a beautiful sunset, a couple of dolphins, and even some other boats (a pirate boat was particularly fun to watch). Overall, a great evening.
It was a beautiful evening spent on the water. The music was spot on the sunset views were gorgeous, fun dolphin sightings. Overall I would highly recommend!
Everything was great except we didn’t see any dolphins or wildlife on the cruise. The driver and bar tender were amazing! The sunset was beautiful!
Cruise was good though clouds the whole time. We saw the tiniest piece of a sunset. One thing company needs to change is to put where to PARK in their confirmation email. I paid $30 for parking and then after I checked in was told I could park in their ramp for $7 all day. WHY would you not put that into the email?? I have no idea. That’s the only part I was disappointed in, except for maybe the cheap beer. (Busch Lite) I also felt like for $49 and “free” beer and wine that we could have a bottle of water for free as well. But no, there was a charge for that. Music selection was SUPERB and captain and bartender were great! Kind of a mixed review but it definitely was a good time!
