Chad was a wonderful captain, and was very friendly! We got to see lots of dolphins on the way to the sandbar, and it was a wonderful sight-seeing ride on the bay to get there! We brought some beverages, and just chilled, snorkeled, and people/boat watched around Longboat Pass. Would definitely book this trip again! The ladder was slightly challenging, so if you have hip/knee problems you might want to make sure you can board/dismount ok.

Itinerary
Departing from Waterline Marina in Holmes Beach, your captain will take you by boat to Jewfish Key or another nearby sandbar based on the day’s tides and conditions. Once there, it’s all about slowing down and enjoying the water. Swim, wade through the shallow water, float, or simply relax with friends and family while taking in the beautiful surroundings. We provide pool noodles for guests who want to kick back in the water. You’re also welcome to bring drinks and a small cooler aboard. Alcohol is permitted for guests 21 and older, but please no glass containers. Along the boat ride, keep your eyes open for some of the wildlife that makes the waters around Anna Maria Island so special. Dolphins, manatees, rays, sea turtles, and coastal birds are sometimes spotted along the way. Wildlife sightings are always a bonus and cannot be guaranteed. This is not a dedicated dolphin-watching tour. It’s a laid-back sandbar experience designed for swimming, relaxing, enjoying the water, and spending a fun day on the boat with family and friends.

Captain Ben was a wonderful guide and we saw lots of dolphins along the way to the sandbar.
Mike was great!! Points out things and gave great info as well!! We had a great time!! Highly recommend
Our guide, Chad, was great! Would recommend.
The entire experience was very nice check-in process was very easy boarding. Captain was very informative when we got to the sandbar. It was absolutely beautiful. Had an amazing time would highly recommend.
You get on a boat, the operator tries to find dolphins or manatees, shortly after he takes you to a sand bar to snorkel and by. Water is only waist deep at the most. We found shells. The ladder to get in and out of the boat was a little hard to use. Overall the boat was comfortable and the operator was friendly.
We had a great time on this snorkel of the Sandbar s. Our guide took us to 2 different sandbar and we saw hundreds of sand dollars and found a huge beautiful shell for a keepsake!! Would definitely do this again..it's totally worth it!
Great to go out on a boat, see dolphins and dock on a sandbar in the middle of the Gulf to see living sand dollars and all sorts of hermit crabs. Relaxing fun afternoon. My son loved the snorkel gear and jumping off the boat!
Nice experience, the sandbar is not full of fish, you may see a few, however the alive shellfish we found were the Stars of the Show, snaps in hermit crab shells as well as a few fiesty hermit crabs and we found a few live conch's too as well as seeing the local Dolphins that was cool too!!!
Captain Mike and Susan were absolutely top-notch! I’m visiting from Virginia and staying with a friend in Parrish, and we had an amazing time. We saw so many manatees, dolphins, and beautiful shells. Captain Mike and Susan made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for such a memorable experience—we highly recommend this tour!
Jake was an outstanding guide — personable and knowledgeable! We saw so many dolphins!
It was a very fun relaxing experience. The captain was great, educational. 10/10
My family and I had an amazing time on the snorkeling excursion! Even though the water was a little foggy, it didn’t stop us from having a great experience. We were still able to find and see so many interesting things underwater, which made the adventure exciting from start to finish. One of the highlights of the trip was spotting dolphins. Seeing them in their natural habitat was incredible and made the excursion even more memorable. Our tour guide, Jack, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone was having a good time. On top of that, he was hilarious and kept us laughing throughout the trip. His fun personality really added to the overall experience and made the excursion even more enjoyable. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for my family, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and memorable snorkeling adventure!
Our guide, Jake, was friendly and super knowledgeable about the area and the ocean life. We found dolphins right away and he let us stay until we were ready to move on. We went out to the sandbar which was very crowded, on a Sunday afternoon. The tide was a bit high and our group wanted to be closer so he was patient and moved a couple times and then took us to a nearby sandbar instead. It was fine for all of us, not crowded and not too deep for the kids. It was a great experience and would highly recommended.
We had such an amazing experience and would recommend to anyone wanting to snorkel/see dolphins/sharks!
We had a lovely afternoon of snorkeling and floating along the sandbar. Captain Mike and the first mate were a lot of fun and brought up points of interest along the way.
Highly recommend this trip! Captain JD was very knowledgable in the facts he shared about the wildlife and things to do around the area. My sister and I had a great time. There was no trip after us so we were able to explore beer can island as well as the sand bar. On the boat, they had snorkel gear and nets for people to use when exploring the sand bar as well as waters. We felt like we had everything we needed and the captain really cared about our experience.
Terrible doc master. Extremely annoying and rude. Will not be back
Great fun. Especially liked seeing the dolphins. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us to good sandbars
Captain Ben was Awesome very knowledgeable of the Island and took us to a great sandbar where we found sand dollars.
Captain Bob made the best out of a mediocre weather day! Great information and conversation as well as navigating us to some great spots for sighting dolphins. Would recommend to anyone new to the area looking for an excellent guide experience!
I had a wonderful time. The boat driver was very knowledgeable about dolphins and other wildlife in the area. He was prompt and fun to be around.
I have done 2 other dolphin tours off the island with another company and loved it. Decided to try something different and do this snorkel tour. It totally blew away my expectation and will totally be coming back again. Captain JD was excellent. Knowledgeable, fun and got us the best dolphin experience that was once in a lifetime bucket list kinda stuff. Soooo much better than the other tours we have done. I went with my husband, kids and grandma and it was great for everyone. The snorkeling is super shallow and waist deep if you’de like and the water was insanely beautiful. Crystal clear and a must see. Would 100% recommend.
Captain Ben made this such an amazing experience! He was so friendly and knowledgeable. He stopped to see dolphins and even tried to get us to see manatees. He even went above and beyond and took us an extra 15 minutes around Anna Maria Island on the boat. This was such a fun experience and I recommend this to anyone visiting Anna Maria Island!
Very fun experience for my 2 daughters and me. We saw many new creatures and embarked on many new adventures thanks to Chad. Best part of our vacation by far!!
We changed from our dolphin tour to the public sand bar trip as this was billed as an opportunity to dive into crystal clear waters and see local wildlife including dolphins, starfish and others. The lady we spoke to on the phone said that this was a 2 in 1 trip with dolphins and swimming. The pictures show people with snorkels. In our heads we were diving off the boat and snorkelling. If this is what you are expecting do not book, Sadly we saw no dolphins at all, this I guess is pot luck, we also saw no other wildlife apart from birds. There is also no diving off the boat, the sand Bars are about 3 foot deep. Previous tours we have been on the captain has been enthusiastic and chatty giving facts on the local environment and places, our captain was happy to answer questions but wasn’t forthcoming with any local information. Having been on the island there are loads of tours you can book with quite a few being cheaper than this. We were enticed by the trip advisor reviews. We wouldn’t book with this company again,
Captain Mike was amazing! We went on the public sandbar tour. The trip was relaxing and the sand bars were gorgeous! They provide water which was wonderful
We had a better time than we could have imagined. Not only were we lucky to share the trip with a lovely family, our captain, JD was nothing short of amazing. We saw dolphins, a manatee, and some spectacular sites at the sandbar. We even witnessed him helping a fellow boater out who got separated from his vessel when the current took the man away. We would book again for sure. We have so many breathtaking photos. Thank you so much for this excursion. It will be something we talk about for years to come.
This was delightful. Highly recommend. Nice breeze on the water, stunning turquoise blue ocean and sandbar. Saw a manatee a shark a sting ray and tarpin. Just the best. Bring your own snacks and drinks. They do bring water for you. It’s shaded !
