Private River Of Grass Everglades Airboat Adventure

Exceeded our expectations in so many ways. First of all our tour guide, Robbie, truly made the day, he was a genuine and passionate environmentalist that loves the Everglades. He has a deep family history in the area and was happy to share his knowledge. There was never a moment where he was reading from a script and he remained engaging and worked the entire trip to find interesting wildlife. He was so excited when we found an alligator nest with 2 day old babies scattering around, he found an egg shell and shared with us so many facts about how alligators nest, it was fascinating. The ride was smooth and the Everglades were stunningly beautiful. If you are still trying to decide on a tour company, look no further.

We did a private 1 hour tour. Captain Joe was fantastic. He really knew his stuff and was great with our two boys. We saw loads of alligators and it has been a highlight of our trip.

10 out of 10. My family of 4 with 2 boys 8 and 10 chose a private trip and was worth every penny. Captain Mike was great. Clearly had years of experience, found loads of wildlife for us, particularly alligators sunning themselves in the bank, stopped regularly to explain what things were and to tell us about the environment, handles the boat with great skill and was safety conscious making sure my family were well looked after. The highlight might have been when a bird swiped a Dorito right from my wife’s hand!!! Can’t get closer to nature than that. Ps in March take a jumper if your going first thing.

We had a great time on our private airboat tour. Captain Robby was a great tour guide! He was very informative and answered all of our questions. The water was low so that limited the area where we could travel, but that also meant that all the wildlife was more concentrated together. We saw a ton of gators, fish and birds. The customer service is also great. They were very easy to communicate with when making modifications to our reservation and they made sure we had all the information we needed to find our meeting spot. I would highly recommend these guys!

Our family of 9 had an incredible adventure with River of Grass Everglades Airboat! These people do everything with excellence and show their guest the Everglades in first class fashion. From the booking with Becky to the two boat Captain's we had, our experience was just wonderful. Good pricing and value for the trip & while the water was down and the Everglades were getting dryer/"sticky" the team at River of Grass made the most of what was available and we got to experience the beauty of the Everglades. We saw at least 20-30 gators (including 12-15 baby gators), different birds and other wildlife. I wholeheartely recommend the professional team at River Of Grass for an airboat tour of the Florida Everglades. LOVE LOVE LOVE this company! Thank you Robert and Becky!

Robert is a very experienced Air Boat captain. His Extensive knowledge of the Everglades and its grasslands full of wildlife made our visit informative and rewarding. Plan on an 1.5hr tour. One hour hits the highlights but you’’ll Experience more by extending your time.

My family and qi had a great time exploring the Everglades with captain Robert today. I had done this tour three more times before and a different times of the year. Today was the first visit to the Everglades during the dry season. Despite the low water level, we saw so many birds and alligators. Captain Robert provided a lot of background to the Everglades. We had a great time in this unique ecosystem. Highly recommended tour as there is no better way to experience the Everglades than by airboat.

Captain Mike gave my husband and I a fantastic airboat tour! We saw many American Alligators, turtles and birds. Mike provided educational information throughout the trip and was extremely personable. We saw no other airboats during our 1 and 1/2 hour adventure.

My son booked our family of 8 on a private tour of the Everglades. Our tour guide/driver was Mike- he was great!!! This tour NOT touristy, trying to get you to buy stuff; it was educational and focused on the ecosystem. Mike knew where to find gators, other birds/animals… he was great answering our many questions; allowing time for photo ops. What a great tour: exceptional!!! Give it more than 5 star review!

I am sharing this experience to highlight serious issues with pricing transparency. One day before our planned visit, I contacted Everglades River of Grass Adventures through their website inquiry form asking about a semi-private tour. I received a reply stating that a semi-private tour was not available. I then replied to the same email asking whether a private tour was available. Before writing, I carefully reviewed the pricing on their website, which clearly states $250 for two people plus $50 for each additional person. Our family consists of four people, so the expected price was clear based on the published information. When I did not receive a reply to my follow-up email, I called the company. During the phone conversation, I was told that a private tour might be available around 9:45–10:00 AM, but the quoted price was $400, which directly contradicts the pricing displayed on their website. When I questioned this discrepancy, I was told the representative would check and email me back. I later received an email saying the representative had “made a mistake” and that private tours were actually not available at all. The core issue here is not availability, but incorrect and inconsistent pricing information being communicated to customers. Quoting prices that do not match publicly advertised rates, and then retracting them, creates confusion and undermines trust. I expect clear and transparent communication when planning a family experience. Unfortunately, due to this experience, we decided not to book with this company.

Captain Mike is a wonderful host and tour guide! Knowledgeable and passionate about the Everglades and ecosystem and knows where the gators are, including a 10 foot one! Very fun for the entire family!

Amazing. I’ve wanted to ride an airboat in the Everglades since I was a little boy, and it didn’t disappoint. Joe was a great captain really informative without it being a lecture. Conveniently located before catching a plane home from Miami.

This adventure was OUTSTANDING! The Everglades, the alligators, water fowl and the scenery were over the top. Our captain, Captain Mike was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about the environment and what he is doing. The whole family had a wonderful time. We will do this again with this crew.

An airboat/alligator experience like no other. Without doubt this was the highlight of our Florida holiday. We actually did 2 tours with Joe (our captain) as the first one got cut short owing to lightning 'sparking up' (!) and we had to hot foot it back to land. Even that curtailed trip was so brilliant that we decided to pay for another private tour 3 days later before we flew back to the UK (the location is only 30 minutes from Miami airport). It is hard to do the experience justice. Joe was so knowledgeable about the Everglades flora and fauna and a true mine of information about the wildlife and, of course, alligators! We did a tour at 4.30pm and the light really set off the 'Rivers of Grass' landscape (note that the Miami east side of the Everglades is different to the Naples west side). We saw lots of alligators, some in very close proximity. Joe went out of his way to make the experience personalised and we really felt that he took us through channels which were virtually unvisited. Even though the water level was low, the airboat ride itself was exciting and we felt privileged to have visited such a unique ecological landscape. Thank you to Joe for giving us memories we'll never forget and to the team in the office who coped with us constantly phoning to re-arrange times for meeting owing to awful traffic. It was all worth the money!

My husband found this company and I am so glad he did! It’s a family owned business and that is exactly what we love to use. The instructions to pay and find the boat launch were simple. Our guide, Mike, was so friendly and gave us so much information on the ecosystem of the Everglades. We were able to get amazing pictures and videos of the wildlife and the Everglades in all of her glory. I always felt safe on the boat, even at the high speeds we were going, and I am a pretty big chicken when it comes to that kind of thing. As soon as we got back to the boat ramp I wanted to go again!

We done some cool trips in Miami but this was probably the best. The host was really cool and knowledgeable too. We saw a gator and the host fed it to get it closer to the boat. Get it booked.

Absolutely amazing experience! Our family of 4 did the 1.5 hour tour with Captain Mike who was incredibly knowledgeable and informative and is very clearly someone who loves his job. I had been worried beforehand that because the water levels were so low this would mean that wildlife would be hard to spot but, as I soon found out, the opposite is true. We were lucky enough to see several alligators as well as some beautiful birds and fish but even if we had seen none of that, the thrill of riding in the airboat is hard to beat. 10/10, we all agreed it was one of the best things any of us had ever done. We would all love to go back one day!

We had a phenomenal trip with Captain Joe. Very fun and interactive with our group. His knowledge of the Everglades was awesome and we seen plenty of gators, fish and birds. He would stop to explain things but always wanted to keep moving on to the next area so we would see more. Definitely recommend these guys!

We drove 3.5 hours from Key West and it was worth every minute of the drive. Being from the west we had never experienced this ecosystem before and we were overwhelmed. Mike as our captain was incredible and grew up in the area and clearly was in love with the beauty more than we were. Saw gators of all ages and sizes everywhere including turtles, several species of birds, and fish everywhere. Such an emotional experience and Mike was perfect for our group. Would do it again for sure.

We did a 60 minute private tour with a family of 9 various ages. They recommended 2 boats. Joe and Robby were our Captains and we had so much fun with them They were very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife that we saw.

Captain Joe made our tour of the Everglades a wonderful experience. Since we were bringing our 18-month old granddaughter we opted to take the private tour. She loved it! We saw several gators and birds on our 1.5 hour tour. Capt. Joe is very knowledgeable about the history of the Everglades and the ecosystem. He even had us taste the sawgrass. Not bad. Our family highly recommends that you reach out to River of Grass for your first or next airboat tour and don’t forget the sunblock.

We had an absolute blast with Captain Joey. The tour was amazing and we learned so much about the Everglades and its unique ecosystem. We saw alligators, birds, fish, and even a python! The python was super exciting and the old alligator, Scar, seemed to enjoy his free python meal. We watched Big Mike keep an eye on us and the boat from the bottom of the water and he seemed as charming as an alligator should be. Captain Joey was energetic, knowledgeable, fun, witty, and an all around great young guy. We couldn’t have asked for a better day out on the Everglades. I absolutely recommend this company as it’s family owned and the respect and love for the Everglades is very apparent in Captain Joey’s actions and words. Perfect day! Perfect tour! Perfect Captain!

We had an absolutely incredible time! Visiting the Everglades was on my bucket list, but I had no idea just how breathtaking it would be. Our Saturday morning tour with Captain Joey was fantastic—he’s incredibly knowledgeable about the Everglades and its diverse wildlife. We learned so much about the ecosystem, various bird species, and, of course, the alligators. Joey made multiple stops to point out different alligators, but the highlight of the trip was watching him catch a python! The airboat ride itself was an absolute thrill, making the adventure even more unforgettable. This experience was worth every penny! Amazing experience. We did a 90 min private tour. Our captain Joe was very friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable! He made the trip! Views were beautiful and lots of wildlife to see. I highly recommend the tour. Fantastic

I have been on no less than 10 airboat rides over various parts of Florida. This was, by far, the best one. Captain Joe was professional, informative, and very accommodating. My travel schedule required a few last minute modifications to our itinerary. The River of Grass folks were able to move. things around on their end to allow us a memorable ride.

Our Everglades Airboat Tour was fantastic! Captain Mike & Captain Rob were very knowledgeable about the Everglades and gave us a very informative tour of the area. So friendly and willing to answer questions and get everyone involved. Great family adventure for the 17 of us - ages 7 to 70! We would refer anyone to use River of Grass Everglades Airboat Adventures.

I took my foreign guests on this air boat tour, because I wanted them to experience the unique ecosystem of the Everglades. I did not want to be on a big boat with lots of tourists trying to get a selfie. I wanted to give my guests time to savor the beauty and to learn about this wonderful piece of nature. Captain Joe did a great job at showing us around, explaining the many aspects that make the Everglades unique and answering all our questions. I am a returning satisfied customer that will keep coming back.

Fun and exhilarating airboat ride. Amazing setting. Captain Mike was an experienced boat captain and very knowledgeable about all the environments and habitats we passed through, and worked really hard to make the tour as enjoyable as possible. We are looking forward to going back again for a longer tour (the one hour tour went by too quick).

We had a really enjoyable 1 hr experience. Captain Mike was very knowledgeable / informative and took us on a fun exploration of the Everglades. Got to spend some close-up time with some gators and see some beautiful scenery along the way. Would definitely do this again if we visit the area in the future.

We went on a private sunset tour with River of Grass. We can only recommend this company. The equipment was in good shape, comfortable and well maintained. Our guide was very knowledgable and had a good sense of humor. Unfortunately there was an overcast so the sunset was 'behind the clouds'. Nevertheless we witnessed the change in behaviour of nature. We saw a lot of alligators, birds, insects and it was all very well explained. We really enjoyed our tour.

This tour with Captain Mike was amazing! The ride itself was such a treat as we flew through the Everglades! We saw 4 alligators, a turtle, and many birds. Capt Mike has the touch! Some of the birds even perched on our boat! It was so cool learning more about this ecosystem. Highly recommend this company and their tours that are authentic and not touristy!! You won’t be sorry!!

We had an incredible trip! This was the first airboat tour our family had been on and we booked the 1.5 hr. private tour. This was plenty of time to get out and see quite a bit and would recommend this company to anyone. Family owned business, very professional, safe/comfortable ride, and had a lot of knowledge about the area and the abundant wildlife. We saw many birds, plenty of gators, and even had an entertaining experience watching the guide make a quick stop to a bag a 6-7 ft. Burmese python. This was one of the highlights of our vacation. Thanks for the great experience.

Great trip with family of 8 to see the everglades. Even though the alligators were hiding in the water because of the heat, our guide knew where to find them and we saw quite a few at the surface of the water. Guide also showed us all the other great things to see in the Everglades.

Captain Mike took us on a super airboat ride. He was very informative about the ecology of the Everglades and we saw tons of wildlife. He was full of recommendations for other ways to see the Everglades.
