Captain Robert went above and beyond to make our dream fishing trip come true. He kept both experienced and novice fishermen engaged the entire time. Though, to be honest, it was the women who ended up catching all the fish! If you have a choice, Captain Robert is the one to pick. His son also provided excellent communication leading up to the trip. Tight lines and smooth sailing with Captain Robert!
My kid's fishing guide Capt. Robert stands as my trusted source above all others. You won't find someone superior to handle your needs. Make sure to schedule an entire day with him when possible.
When you hear the phrase “Trust your guide”, Capt. Robert is the type of person they are talking about. I have been fishing and hunting with him for the past 12 years and cannot begin to describe the incredible experiences he has provided on and off the water.
Had an absolutely great fishing trip with Rick. My friends and I caught a ton of peacock bass. Let’s ok’ing forward to fishing with Rick again.
🎣🌟 Just completed my Peacock Bass bucket list fishing trip in Miami and it was an unforgettable adventure with my baby girls! 🌟🎣 🌴🐟 Spent an amazing day on the water with the girls reeling in some impressive catches, including Large Mouth Bass, Mayan Cichlids, and finally, our sought-after prize – the stunning Peacock Bass! 🐠🌺 👭🎣 So proud of the fishing skills of my girls - we were a dream team out there on the water, making memories that will last a lifetime!🌊🌅 #PeacockBass #GirlsWhoFish #MemoriesMade #FishingFun
Richard, the guide had to be one of the best ever he was friendly helpful and frankly we had a blast and oh yes we caught lots and lots of fish
Multiple double hook ups, lost count of the fish we caught, excellent day on the water. Capt Rick was an awesome Guide.
Had an amazing time with Captain Rick. He was a patient, friendly, and knowledgeable guide. My son and I had a great experience and we would definitely do this again. Highly recommended!
I went to Miami from Michigan to catch Peacock Bass. In Miami, I was able to see a variety of wild animals and fish that I couldn't see in Michigan. We also caught a lot of fish. I wanted to go again.
Went in thinking could somebody ever catch so many fish that it gets boring, the answer still is a resounding no. Had a wonderful time the entire time. Would definitely recommend
Awesome experience - Captain Rick planned a great day of fishing for us and went above and beyond to make our excursion nothing less than awesome …. Happy Birthday Drew !
This experience was amazing. My father and I definitely had a blast catching peacock bass to clown knifefish, this was one of my best fishing experiences to date. Big thanks to captain Richard for a great trip!!
It's been a long time goal of mine to catch a peacock bass on a flyrod. I was going to be in Orlando for work, so I reached out to Captain Hernandez after thoroughly reading all of the information here on Trip Advisor (what is included, policies, reviews, etc) and booked the trip. The morning of the trip I caught an early flight from MCO to MIA and took a Lyft to the address in my confirmation email. It was a 20 minute ride as expected, and he had a locked storage area for my luggage while we fished. He knew my schedule and we worked around the flight schedule easily enough. Within a few minutes of arrival we pushed off and started catching fish on spinning tackle. We caught several peacocks and a couple large mouth on our way around the first bay. By this time we were laughing, playing some Jimmy Buffet, and settled into our grove on the boat so I switched over to the fly tackle. Per our arrangement he had two TFO rod/reels in 5 and 7 weights ready to go with sink tips and streamers. He also handed me a few boxes of flies of different colors and sizes including few shrimp and popper patters as well as a nice assortment of streamers and said he could tie up whatever I wanted anytime I wished. I started off with the 5 weight and a big white Clouser he had already setup on that rod, and it worked just fine so I didn't change up for the rest of the trip. Over the next couple hours I caught a few peacocks on the flyrod, and I am totally satisified with my trip in every way. He was great about getting the fish in the boat, pictures, video, etc. For future anglers I would say a few things about expectations. This is a small lake and it is surrounded by houses as mentioned in the details, I loved the convenience to the airport vs trying to do something remote. The spinning gear was way more effective, we probably landed 8 fish to 1 versus the fly gear. Also all of the peacocks I caught on the fly were smaller than any we caught on the spinning gear. The bigger fish were deeper and taking on painfully slow retreives that day. If I wanted big fish, or a lot of fish, I am sure we would have left the flyrods behind. That said, Captain Rick knew what I wanted to do and really leaned into the challenge to make this longtime dream come true. Overall this was a great trip for me and I could see doing it again the next time I have a few extra hours in Miami.
Great experience! The funnest part was to take out the fish once on the hook. Kids and adults had a fantastic time!
Such a wonderful and fun experience! We caught 5 different species of fish during our tour! Captain Hernandez was awesome, shared great knowledge and kept us laughing the whole time! Highly recommended this experience, you won’t be disappointed!
Amazing time. Caught a bunch of fish. Weather worked out perfect for us. Captain knew a lot about the peacock bass and other fish in the area
Just finished a trip of a lifetime with Capt. Richard Hernandez! Amazing Peacock fishing on a beautiful lake. Incredibly knowledgeable and as cool a dude as can be! Couldn’t have asked for a better first time guide experience. Thanks, Richard!
Great experience!!! Very knowledgeable Captain!! Lots of fish to catch. Very comfortable boat ride with lots of birds and iguanas!!
Great trip with Captain Kirk Osborn. The weather was cold but he got us to all the spots the fish were biting! Highly recommend!
Captain Robert couldn’t be a better host! Knowledgeable, experienced and a great instructor for those with limited experience fishing. For those with a lot of fishing experience he’ll share a wealth of knowledge with you. I wouldn’t hesitate booking another trip with him! You will find it to be a great experience if you book yours with him as well!! Don’t hesitate!
Our trip with Cpt. Robert Miley was great! He put us on the fish and worked non-stop to ensure we had a good time. The boat was clean, the tackle top shelf, and Cpt. Miley was so nice and personable. I highly recommend ioutdoors and Cpt. Miley.
excellent guide and captain. well worth the cost. everything as advertised. will definitely book again the next time in Miami.
Three of us took a 4 hour peacock trip out of the Falls Mall area. Weather was cold and cloudy. But, Captain Kirk put us on fish and we caught a ton. Had a blast and loved his company. Very knowledgeable and professional. Totally recommend.
The wife and I went for our anniversary and were very pleased with how we were treated. The hotel let us check in early and went out of their way allow us a early check in. We had capt. Wayne for a guide and he got us on the fish. The first day I didn't believe him about getting 10 dozen shiners but he was right we ran out by 10 AM. I enjoyed my whole experiences, easy to book and caught a bunch of fish.
The trip was excellent from start to finish from the office staff, driver and of course Captain Mike. Caught 30 plus Peackocks and a few other species including a turtle. Great trip with a great guide. I highly recommend taking a trip with Captain Mike. Thank you for a great day that I would t soon forget.
Had an awesome 30-fish half-day trip fishing Miami canals for Peacocks. Capt Kirk was extremely knowledgeable and I learned quickly if I did exactly what he told me to I'd have a fish on more often than not. My trip time was up but he kept me out an extra half hour or so to make sure I hit that 30 fish milestone and had a great story to tell. Great service, advice and conversation all day. Couldn't recommend Capt Kirk more.
This was a guys trip that had one intention, catch peacock bass. Captain Robert Miley had us on the fish within our first hour on the water. I'd say between the 3 guys on this trip, we reeled in about +40 on a half-day trip, averaging about 2 lbs with the larger ones ranging in the 3 lbs. Bad weather rolled in, Captain Miley busted out the rain suits and we kept fishing! We were very impressed and satisfied with him as a guide and I learned a lot just listening to him, very humble fellow with a tremendous amount of fishing knowledge. Guranteed we will go with him again, and again.
The fishermen used to the delicacy of freshwater fishing (pejerreyes, trout, etc.), come into contact with different techniques, flycasting and spinning are no longer used, replaced by trawling with da viva meat, although more important pieces are achieved in size, whose fight enlarges who drives the boat when accelerating it, the hours embarked, the roughness of the sunshine and the loss of the day in Florida, makes me discourage the experience.
