This was a great sand bar trip! We paddled, kayaked and swam in the beautiful waters of Snipes Point. Captain Bethany was great and told us all about the wildlife. We will definitely be back!
We have done this experience with Lazy Dog two times now and both have been amazing! The guides have been incredibly kind and focused on making our experience fun and unique!!
We had the BEST time as always during our Lazy Dog sandbar trip. Heather B. is an excellent, competent and fun captain. The spot we went to was magical and we couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. They take care to provide a first class experience (especially having water, ice, and a cooler available is great, not having to lug one ourselves.). Thanks LAZY DOG! XO
We have taken this trip a couple times as well as their kayak tours. Always great guides and the perfect experience for our family of 6. I think we have had at least four different guides over the years and all have been great. On our latest trip we found a sea star, Conch and cool sea slug that was kind enough to ink us as we passed them around. How fun....
Amazing private boat tour through mud flats. Found several hidden beaches. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable.
10/10!! Awesome time! Kids had a great time❤️. Would do it again:) We had a great time and Bethany was super helpful.
Bethany was outstanding! She provided us with so much information about the area and waters and was so accommodating with everything we wanted to do and see.
Totally worth every penny. Heather catered to us completely even down to the music we listened to. This was a laid back great day and we even brought our dog ruby and she had a blast.
Wonderful trip! Beautiful area! So enjoyed our captain Lynsi! Would highly recommend lazy dog charter. Kayaking and paddle boarding was awesome!
Wonderful excursion. Great time had by all. Captain Nicole and Ernie (her dog) were fantastic. Weather, water and sand were perfect. There will be a next time.
We had a great time this morning with Nicole and Ernie! I will recommend Lazy Dog to anyone I know heading down to the Keys! It was the perfect way to end our vacation!
Brilliant being able to combine sandbar/kayak/ paddleboarding all in the same trip . Lindsey took us out to this brilliant mangrove island and quickly got us set up . One of us had never paddleboarded before but thanks to lindsey’s help she was like a pro by the end
What a great day in Key West! Private boat to Mangroves with paddle boards, beautiful nature, private beach stop, and a great boat captain, Bethany. Despite high winds we were able to stay protected by the mangroves and fully enjoy this beautiful place. Highly recommend Lazy Dog. You won't be disappointed
Bethany was great. She set us for kayaking, paddle boarding, float pad, and even a pup plank for our Aussie. We loved her information about the surrounding ecosystems. Having our own little island with trails, sand, and even a homemade hammock was an awesome time had by all. Thank you Lazy Dog and Bethany.
Capt. Nicole was excellent as well as her dog, "Ernie." Very relaxing trip and what made it much better was the fact that they take kayaks and paddleboards for your use.
The highlight of our trip. The staff is amazing. They made sure we were able to go out even though the weather wasn't cooperating! They know their stuff. Post poned our departure and had amazing weather and sunset to die for. Our captain, Heather, was awesome. She was friendly, knowledgeable and made sure we had the best experience. Thank you Lazy Dog!
Nicole was excellent. Very informative and new all the cool spots. Parking was easy and the boat was right there. She took us around the mangroves and gave us a nice cayak to explore on our own. Very nice pontoon boat with a leisurely drive back and forth. What a great day, Thanks so very much!!!
Great day out at the sandbar with heather. Our family of four had a blast! My husband and I paddle boarded while our kids swam and tossed the football with Heather. She inflated a mat that the kids could float and jump off of. I would do this again in a heartbeat. She had plenty of water, was happy to take pictures for us and was all around very knowledgeable and a great captain. We felt so comfortable and really had a great time.
Nicole was our captain, she was amazing! Very helpful, friendly and knowledgable of the area. She took us to a great place and had plenty of gear for us. She even had a cooler with ice for our drinks and snacks. I would definately use this service again, it was a fabulous time!!!
The private trip was wonderful. Never seen anything so beautiful. Our guide Lindsay was a sweetheart. The scenic view was amazing. We got to get into the water and walk through the mangroves. It’s totally safe even if you can’t swim since the water is like knee deep. The water is clean and clear as crystal and it’s a good way to spend half a day in the ocean. Totally recommend it and would definitely come back next time
Five of us took what was billed as the "1/2 Day Eco Boat Adventure" - it was great. The Captain - Heather was awesome, she asked us what we wanted to do, we opted to go out to a beach / sand bar for the afternoon. We swam, walked on the beach and used the stand up paddle boards. We brought plenty of beer and sandwiches, the boat had a large cooler and plenty of ice. It was a nice ride out to the island, it was a weekend so there were a bunch of other boats - but it was not overly crowded as there was plenty of room at this island. Would highly recommend this trip.
Our captain took us to a great spot we swam, paddle board and we’re able to spot some stingrays and sharks. It was awesome we had so much fun!
We had a great time with Lindsey on the sandbar adventure. Everyone we dealt with was extremely nice. Lindsey was fun and just wanted to make sure we did everything we wanted to. We paddle boarded, went to a sandbar, and floated around on the big floating pad. We had a great time, and I would highly recommend Lindsey and Lazy Dog.
Heather was an incredibly knowledgeable Captain and super friendly. She seemed to anticipate our adventure needs and gave us opportunities to provide input in our experience. We had a great time and will definitely be back again!
What a picture perfect trip! We can’t wait to do it again! We brought our pups and they were living their best life and so were we. The island we went to was pristine, like something out of a magazine. Our captain Lindsay was great too, took great care of us and made sure we had a great time. If you are considering Lazy Dog, DO IT! You will not be disappointed! Private charter is the way to go 100%
My husband and I had such a good time with Lynsi on our private charter. We arrived on Stock Island a little early to get lunch at the Hurricane Hole before our charter began, and Lazy Dog gifted us with a coupon to contribute towards our meal. We left with Lynsi promptly after loading up a couple of single kayaks, and we headed half an hour out, where we then snorkeled over a coral head and saw a number of different kinds of fish, lobster, and urchins. From there, Lynsi took us even further out to a mangrove island that had just enough beach space for us to relax, swim, and kayak around the entire island. Aside from one other private boat on the other side of the island, we were the only people there, so we could take in the full solitude of the beautiful environment. We brought our own snorkeling masks, and Lynsi provided us with fins and the kayaks, so we were fully prepared to enjoy all the activities. We also brought a bottle of wine, which we kept chilled in the Yeti cooler until our return trip home. Throughout our time together, Lynsi was kind, funny, and knowledgable, giving us information about tides, wildlife, and island lifestyle. We're so grateful for the time, and I couldn't recommend this more highly.
What a great experience! We did a 1/2 day Eco Boat Trip with Heather and had a great time! She was so knowledgable about all the curiosities of our 5 & 7 year old children, and catered the trip to what would be most fun for them. We will 100% book with Lazy Dog again!
Went with Captain Lindsay on an amazing adventure to mangroves for snorkeling, kayaking and sandbar. She was very knowledgeable about the local ecosystem and a great resource. Saw manta rays, nurse sharks and a host of fish. Super fun for the whole family. Fantastic! Would love option to do a full day!
We booked the eco tour as a special day for two in Key West. Lynsi made the day extra special…..even though it was a windy day with some rough water, she found a place for us to safely kayak and paddle board among the mangrove. Lynsi gave me positive guidance on handling my SUP in currents. She is experienced and knowledgeable of the handling the vessel as well as the area. We felt very safe with her. As clearly stated, this trip isn’t for those without water experience or back injuries. You can get jolted on rough waves and it’s about 30 minutes each way to the mangrove islands.
Lindsey was amazing! She took my husband and I to Smugglers Key where we found a small secluded white sand beach with turquoise water that was perfect. While there she captured candid photos of us. We got to walk the trails and enjoyed having her dog along with us. The she took us to a secluded section of mangroves where we kayaked. And she gave both of us paddle-board lessons. The whole day was the best one we had in Ley West. It’s well worth the money!
Captain Lyndsi was great. Although it rained most of the afternoon we still had a wonderful time. Rain is rare but she helped us make the best of it. Great experience and saw lots of interesting stuff.
My partner and I did the backcountry tour with Robin. It was a blast!! Robin really knew her stuff and was so friendly and set a perfect pace for us. Definitely a highlight of our trip! Anybody who wants to get out on the water would be lucky to book a trip with lazy dog! We learned so much and had a lot of fun paddling. Transport included too which was an awesome perk
Highly Recommend Lazy Dog! They are our go to place to rent kayaks and paddle boards while in Key West. This trip we decided to book the Sand Bar Adventure and we had a blast! Our Captain was Heather and her co-Captain Timmy (her cute rescue dog) found us a great spot, explained the importance of the mangroves and helped my boys master the paddle board. They provided ice cold water and cold snacks while on the sandbar and we were able to bring our 'adult drinks' with us. The check in staff always offers great customer service, and they have good quality hats/tees for sale. We will be repeat customers!
We have been on this trip a bunch of times and it is my favorite adventure in Key West. Captain Heather and Captain Lynsi are so much fun and know exactly what there are doing and where to bring us. We always bring the doggies and they have such a great time. We bring snacks and drinks but there are also some provided on the boat. While in Key West or even if you live here I highly recommend this trip. Book a half day or full day and bring the dogs, they will have a blast. Thank you Lazy Dog for all the amazing adventures and memories ❤
Heather B was our captain and she was Amazing. She made the trip wonderful and couldn't have asked for a better day. We went out on Easter Sunday and it exceeded our expectations. Will definitely plan this trip again when I visit. Truly, the only way to really experience the keys. We went out to Nooners beach (name given by the locals) and were able to paddle board, kayak and just hang out. We visited the mangroves as well. Highly recommend this tour.
First off we are an active couple but we were looking to slow down for a few hrs. Started out nice enough. Us and one other couple plus our capt., so 5 total on the boat. Nice introductions and off we went for about a one hour cruise northeast towards the mangroves and the sandbar. The boat is fairly loud so once we were out of the no wake area, there was little talking in the boat. When we arrived at the mangroves and started touring through the area (which for a northern couple was pretty neat) our capt gave us a little local knowledge and off toward the sandbar we went. The tide was higher then usual for that time of the day (full moon) so the sand bar never appeared. It was maybe 2’ under. No problem, we found a small private beach and ran the boat up onto the sand. That’s when it started to go a little sideways. Not a lot of direction or knowledge from the capt. Just a “hey do you want to kayak or paddle board?” Sure each couple jumped into double kayaks and paddle into the strong (full moon) shifting tides. Was neat for a bit. We returned to the boat for something else. There was talk of looking for a different sandbar, nope. Tides are pretty darn strong to go back in the kayak. Paddle board, not really interested. No music, no snacks to this point. No chairs, no umbrella. Which is the cover pict on the advertisement on their trip advisor page. We wandered the very little island for a bit. Hung out in the water for a bit. Which is beautiful by the way. Capt asked “hey do you want to tour the mangroves for a bit”. Both couples said yes. Great. So we jumped in the boat and set off - exactly the same way we got there. Went as straight as you can go through the mangroves back towards “home”. Capt. says do you want a snack? Sure. Snacks were fine, though not much compared to other boat trips we have taken off Key West. Then as we were snacking we picked up the pace straight back to the dock without a word of what was going on. Back to the dock. Enjoy your day folks. See ya !! Seemed like they have very little experience running this trip. I don’t know. I usually don’t review anything. This may be what your looking for, but to us it was less then nothing. It was the promise of a laid back day that turned out to be a boat tour out and back. And not much else. A pontoon boat ride with chips and humus is not worth $300 per couple.
Had a wonderful time! Lindsey our guide did a great job! Would definitely do it again! Thanks for a great trip!
Lindsay did a great job keeping our group entertained. Water and Mangroves were beautiful. Paddle boarding was a blast and tougher than it looked.
Captain Lynsi was fantastic and gave us a wonderful afternoon on the water! She tailored our trip to exactly what we wanted to do, which basically was just chill and enjoy the day! After a short boat ride across the bay and into the backwater, Captain Lynsi beached us on a sandbar and put out the chairs and kayak. She had drinks and snacks and anything we needed. I toured the mangrove tunnels in the kayak and my wife sat and read in the ankle deep water. Captain Lynsi boated us through some more mangroves on the way home, shared her knowledge and love of the area and provided us a great and very relaxing experience!!!
