Ronet was great!we were sorry on time and he explained how we could visit little Havana and still make our flight. Thank you.
Too expensive and end too early Waited for bus and schedule was not accurate . Boat was not included had to pay xtra
Great service from Robert and Joseph . We were picked up at the cruise port and dropped at the hop on hop off hub . While we explored Miami on the hop on hop off bus our luggage was stored on the transfer bus which we later re joined for our transfer to the airport . This was ideal. Good commentary while on the hop on hop off bus . Big Bus employees always helpful at each stop . The only thing that could be improved would be a clearer description of how our luggage is handled- ie. No need to take it off the bus and put it into a storage unit and collect again before getting back on the bus . ( the tour description provided by the ship implied this is what we needed to do ). Ronet and Joseph were happy to help explain this when asked about it .
Pick up point clearly explained and app helped us keep an eye on times. Drivers were very cheery when boarding/leaving bus. Had to change seat on first bus as plug for commentary was broken. The route and stops were good. Reason I marked it down was because I found the commentary a little annoying. Although informative, it was like 3 or 4 kids discussing the sights between themselves rather than just saying what I was seeing. We got off at Little Havana and it was good to see the busses approaching on the app so we knew when to be at the bus stop. Good way to see Miami if you can put up with the annoying commentary
It was a great experience, we did this after departing our cruise, stayed at hotel directly across the street from the Bayside Marketplace, which is the start of the route.
The big bus tour was the best way to see the city. Hop on and hop off at each of the stops was fantastic. South beach was great to stroll around and swim before picking up the rest of the tour. The only reason it is not 5 stars is beacuse when at the Wynwood Walls stop, the bus disappeared off the app and was over 40 mins late in the strong summer heat, the queue got bigger and bigger, so by the time an hour of waiting went by we ordered an uber to little Havana, we will still do not know where the bus got to! Lol! And there was no way to speak to anyone to find out when it was expected. Otherwise it was a great day out across Miami.
Bus was not air conditioned, waited 45 mins for bus. Not convenient “hop on and hop off” as advertised.
It takes a long time to get around just the red route. Unfortunately we came across a major traffic jam which was at least 30 minutes to go maybe a mile. No one’s fault, just a bit of a hiccup. Otherwise this was a great way to see lots of Miami.
No air-conditioning on tour bus in 90+ degree weather. Hard to focus on tour when it was extremely hot and everyone was sweating.
Don't waste your money. No working ac. Waited longer that 45 minutes in loop, they claim every 30 minutes. Hard to navigate to get on. Very disappointed for a Viator partner.
No air-conditioning!!!! No windows could be opened down below!!! Not comfortable for a handicap elderly person who cannot climb stairs. 102° temperature outside.. their buses do not contain air conditioning and it is stifling I definitely do not recommend during May through October! Definitely not comfortable for elderly people should actually be against the law that they do not have any windows for cross Breeze for the people that cannot go up the stairs I'm sure there's some kind of safety regulations that they are breaking! Also the kiosk people are not knowledgeable and rude!
We are on a bus in Miami in September. There is no AC!!!!!! We were told we can sit upstairs. We did not pay to sit outside. Hop Off Hop On excursion. It was described as an air conditioned bus. Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!! Request reimbursement!
ronet and julio is awsome must do thing in miami
Not on time . In Miami hot weather day stand outside for 40 minutes, not seem any of the big bus coming . ..
Bus tour was great. Got to see a lot and get an idea of all the main sites to see and was able to stop at each place and either go shopping or go eating fabulous.
OMG terrible! The bus didn’t have air conditioning and they didn’t let us know. We couldn’t complete the loop and didn’t enjoy the tour.
We have used this company in so many locations in Europe. We were very disappointed in Miami. We joined the tour after a rain storm. The driver drove too fast ( in pur opion) hitting low haning branches with no warning and we were absolutely soaked and dodging falling branches. There was no warning from the driver that the tour was coming to the end and we were rudely shouted at to get off the bus. We joined the bus again the following day ( without the rain)but the driver was equality rude. On our last trip the driver did speak to the passengers telling everyone it was the last bus of the day. On the whole we have found this company very rude and unwelcoming. We waited a long time for the buses to arrive in comparison to the same company in other locations. There seemed to be just two buses operating in this location at one time which isn't enough, far too much waiting time! I would not recommend using this company on a short trip to Miami!
The a/c in the bottom portion of the bus was not working and it was sweltering hot. The top of the bus had a full right side of speakers that did not work with the earbuds provided. There were times were the trees got through the top shield and sides. The driver was going a little fast at times. A woman threw up from motion sickness on the top half, her friend told the driver and he did not stop to help or clean it up. Wear a hat if you sit at the top.
This was awful. They were late every time, and the AC did not work, Miami and no AC. It made for a miserable drive anywhere.
Overall, a great way to see the key areas of Miami. The tour was around 2 hours and had headphones given to us for a commentary on the area. Whilst I have no issue with a pre-recorded track I found the commentary focused far too much on the shopping areas and great places to spend cash rather than delving into more of the history of the area. In the areas such as little Havana the history was great and was very enjoyable. Overall, would recommend.
I loved this bus tour !!! Tour Downtown Miami, then went To Miami Beach, Wynwood and then Little Havana and then ends where it started in Downtown Miami Highly recommend this bus tour.
Booking was horrendous. Arrived before departure to be snapped at that the last tour left 20 minutes ago. Contacted customer service for refund or to use the next day and asked the correct departure times. Ignored. Followed up and refund refused and limited information provided. Could not use voucher and nobody assisted in customer services. Kiosk operator and lady driver there initially were rude, severely lacking in customer care skills and understanding of basic English. Avoid.
Audio described attractions at each stop, but do not drive by the attractions. Not recommended for the directionally challenged
Overall experience on the Big Bus tour was verbally good. The reason for the average score was the timings of the buses. They don’t really stick to the timings detailed on the website which makes planning with a two year old quite challenging, particularly in the oppressive heat of Miami. The app is fantastic and gives you real time info on the buses however we only realised this after we’d missed the first bus at one of the stops. We also noticed that three buses seemed to run about 10 mins apart with the fourth lagging about 40 mins apart. The actual tour and descriptions are great. Informative and delivered in an engaging way so full marks there. Definitely worth a trip if you like your bus tours.
Was Nice to hear and see places we haven't been before. We just did not have enough time to actually hop on and hop off. Our tour was running late and if we would have gotten off we would have missed our plane. The person that met us at the ship at the exit his name was Chris. He didn't awesome job. He even got on the bus and explained things to us even though I think he was a little stressed out because we were all running so late
Great way to experience downtown Miami before or after cruising. Met the bus at the port where Chris and Jose were ready and waiting for us. Great option for holding luggage while the bus takes you sight seeing where you can hop on/off at your own pace. Highly recommended. Great value for the price!
Our tour guide Chris and bus driver Jose went above and beyond for a fantastic day trip in Miami. Highly recommend and would definitely do again!
Besides one of the buses stalling everything was excellent millionaires row cruise ride was excellent would do it again
I enjoy the tour it was amazing and beautiful city of Miami I will be going again
The daytime tour was eh. The nighttime tour SO WORTH it!! The tour guide was energetic made it so much fun plus you get to see Ocean Dr with all the lights.
Horrendous experience never to be repeated! Took 2.5 hours to complete what should have been 20 minutes to the first stop. With baby in tow no ac inside and outside no cover, creating a loose loose situation in 35oC heating, tour operators informed us this was not an issue with full ac and continuous movement. To top it off a service that allegedly runs every 30 mins on return did not show up for 1.5 hours again in burning heat with no satisfactory cover
Enjoyed our tour. Pick up from the cruise terminal was easy and quick.
Was told by a trolley driver that we were on the right one, did not speak very good English and we were on the wrong trolley. Address hard to find so did not make it and now we have appt. Very disappointed.
Very unclear. False advertisement. Was told we could hop on all day just for a Hispanic woman be rude and condensing at 8pm in front bayside marketplace on May 6th.
The bus was not air conditioned! I don’t like the sun so sitting outside is not an option. I expected the bus to be cooler inside, but it was not. Not only was it not air conditioned, but the windows did not open! The bus route was good, with hop on and hop off opportunities good. Cruise option around the private islands was interesting. Getting to Little Havana was the main reason we took the bus the second day - first day we rode around the entire route without getting off just to see the sites. Getting to and from Little Havana was convenient.
I have used Viator all over the world for day excursions and they have always been great. Some are obviously better than others, but that is usually up to the local operators.
Disappointed with hop on hop off bus, unlike many other cities the route is one way with 9 stops. To visit a site you may need to complete the route again! The commentary is mediocre and whilst the provided brochure provides stop numbers the commentary does not... this small tweek would make it easier for passengers. The cruise was great, it is provided by another company and it is necessary to exchange the Big Bus Ticket to board. There are at least four Big Bus Booths but staff are obviously on commission and anyone with an enquiry is ignored despite being in the queue to point of rudeness. Suggest buy a separate boat ticket direct and avoid the hassle!
We went on a Friday, boarded at 11:30. The tour promotion said it was 1.5/2 hour loop. Due to traffic, it turned out to be a 3.15 loop tour. It was a good tour to get the history and see the sights. However, had we known how long the entire loop was going to be, we would have changed our planning for stopping and getting off.
No air conditioning in the bottom deck and no open windows. No space on the top and each bus was over 30 minutes late. Some were full and another hour wait. We had to get a ride share this was intolerable. No clear answers from anyone but an attempted upsell.
My family and I have taken the Big Bus Tour in several cities including Los Angeles, Paris, and San Fran. This is a good way to see neighborhoods and famous sights in popular travel destinations. Sometimes buses have no air conditioning which makes it problematic on very hot days. We experienced this on two of the bus rides we took in Miami. If they can address this issue, I would have given them five stars. Still a worthwhile investment.
The information was great on the bus, but honestly the timing was off. I get Miami traffic but dont promise to be at a stop every 30 mins. We went to get on stop 1 at 10 and it wasnt until 1030 when the bus finally got there. The app for finding the location for the bus wasnt always accurate either. Unfortunately I felt I did not get my money's worth out of this experience.
Was disappointed, but didn't know what to expect.
This HOHO was absolutely not worth the time or money. I've taken around 5-6 other HOHO's in various cities so am familiar with generally how they work. This was virtually just a transport bus to around 9 stops in a small area of Miami. There were no live tour guides and the recording which came on now and then was like a conversation between two people, with silly comments and virtually little information. This was very disappointing. If you have no car and just need to get down to the beach, perhaps it would work for you.
The bus was sweltering and the air condition non-existent. Even the driver was bemoaning the fact it was unbearably hot! The only breeze was a broken emergency exit window that was ajar. The tour was mediocre to say the least, and it was more ‘when can I hop off’ and not back on! The cost for two was $118 and certainly not worth it in our humble opinion.
A promising start to the tour was quickly dispelled - thankfully we joined early in the first cycle of the tour and managed to get on the bus, but at several of the subsequent stops the bus had to turn away pfull lines due to the bus being full. We hopped off at Little Shabaka, cool. Then, we aimed to pick up the 12.30 bus, which arrived 10 minutes early and left early, not waiting. The bus we finally caught prompt ly broke down and the ensuing melee for the replacement bus - 20 mins late - was like a scene from Lord of the Flies - survival of the fittest as people literally climbed over one another to get on - no queue management from the staff. Awful.
Bus stop info provided little details about the sites listed for each stop. No written material so had to rely on cell phone which was often hard to see in glaring sunlight. No info on directions to sites from each stop. Several of plugs for headphones did not work. Info presented was pre-recorded and big on chatter and tinny Latin music and very difficult to hear due poor sound quality. Take the free Miami shuttle bus instead!
Very expensive and not worth the money
5 star rating for Big Bus Tours. On time On budget is what matters. Exploring Miami when you have just a day or two is your best option.
We bought the 48 hour hop on & off option with cruise. We did the full tour day 1 & the cruise. We used it to get around the city day 2. We stopped off for breakfast in litte havana & we would not have seen as much of the city without this tour as we were only here a few days. If you want to see Ocean drive you need to book the separate night tour as the day tours don’t go down there but you can fet off at stop 2 & walk 2 blocks to get there yourself.
