Miami To Key West Day Trip Transportation

We had a great experience traveling by bus from Miami to the Florida Keys. The driver and our hosts were great. We got to spend enough time in the keys. The bus was nice with air-conditioning and it was timely. Getting there and timely getting back.

The guide and driver were punctual and courteous. Both very good. However we were switched between two buses, both of which had issues. A portion of rhe passengers weee moved to a 2nd bus 30 minutes into the drive because there were air conditoning issues. On the return trip our bus broke down. And the bus with the AC issues was callled back and alll passengers put into that bus which was hot and stuffy. This caused delays of 30 minutes to an hour. We were dropped back to hotel at 10:30pm The price and itinerary were good but clearly the buses were old and requried maintenance. Loved Key West!

Our driver / tour guide IRA was AWESOME!!! Highly recommend him. The alligator park was so much fun! Saw 5 or 6 alligators and a baby. The alligator show was very informative. Learned a lot about their rescue efforts and about the alligator itself. I would highly recommend this trip.

A great trip. Even though the journey is 4 hours. The scenery and our host Lewis made the time pass by very quickly. Key west is stunning and has enough to fill the 6 hours you are there. Our driver Milton was also fantastic and made sure the journey was as quick as possible

Great opportunity to spend some time in Key West and see scenic Route 1. You also get plenty of time to do more than one activity or sight.

This tour basically just provides the transportation from Miami to Key West, which is fine but the bus was filthy. I can honestly say that I have never been in a dirtier bus anywhere in the world. There was a hand written sign in the front of the bus that states that the front row seats on the upper deck cost an additional $20 per person. Yes, those seats provide better views. I can understand that . But the windshield was filthy, full of stains, streaks and dried bird poop. One cannot get a nice view nor can one take a good photo through the window. Not only that, the seats had food crumbs on them and the surrounding areas are filthy, full of stains, dirt, and the cup holders were wet with some kind of liquid inside. It was gross. I strongly suspect that the guide just put the extra charge sign up just to make himself and may be the driver a few extra bucks. I wonder if the company even knows about this. The guide also spent a lot of time selling tickets to various activities in Key West. BTW, the hop on/ hop off trolly ride , at $60+ per person was a rip off. The guide also mentioned 3 times during the bus ride that we should tip him and the driver and even suggested the percentage of the tip. All this felt really sleazy. A tip is an expression of an appreciation for a job well done and it’s called a gratuity, meaning it should be gratuitous and not to be aggressively solicited. But the filthy condition of the bus is what kept me from taking a Viator tour again. I understand these providers are sub contractors but Viator should vet them more carefully. A negative experience ruins Viator’s good reputation.

We had a great time in Key west but be aware you are not getting to enjoy key west for a full 6 hours it’s more like 5/ 51/2 hours. But we got to do something’s that we didn’t get to do on our last visit.

Got picked up a few minutes after 7:30am from the hotel. Paid an extra $40 for roundtrip first class seats. Upstairs first row. Best view going and coming. I've made multiple trips to the keys, driving myself, but this was the first time I was able to relax and pay attention to the views. I'd recommend it highly to anyone wanting to go to key west for the day.

Bus ride from Miami Beach to key west on a charter bus was a great affordable day trip. Louis our guide and Manie our driver were great. Lots of info and suggestions. Helped us get a golf cart so we could explore where we wanted to. If you do a golf cart watch the traffic they don't like to give way to the golf carts. Lots of places to eat,drink, and shop. We went to the Fort East Martello museum to see Robert the doll. Definitely would suggest this tour for a day trip to Key West.

We were picked up close by our hotel and they texted with reminders and called when they arrived at the location to make sure everything was on time. The only serious point I would like to say is that when booking it stated that the bus would leave Key West to head back at 5:30, we were recommended to book excursion through the bus. When we did this they then informed us that we would need to take an early excursion to make sure the bus would now leave at 5pm and would leave us. By the time we arrived walking to get our tickets the first excursion already left. We asked several times, the person who we bought the tickets from and the booth for the excursion that we would make it back in time for our bus... since it ended at 5pm. They both told us a few times that yes we would be fine. I even asked again before getting on the boat with the booth since it seemed to be running behind. They said there would be no problem, they normally come back in before or on time. So while out on the boat we again asked to make sure. That is when the captain said "no, they would head back in at 5pm and there was no way we would make it to our bus. !" I was livid and said we asked so many times how it worked. Luckily a storm shelf came in suddenly and we had to head back early making us on time to get to the bus. That was an awful feeling and I explained to the lady on the bus they should not take guests on excursions knowing they are leaving out early on the bus. There would have been legal ramifications had we been left by the bus due to false time frames given. So make sure what time the excursion is and not close to leaving time and that the bus leaves as they advertised. Had we not stopped for breakfast at McDonalds I believe we could have made an earlier excursion is my recommendation.

It was very nice bus ride from Miami Beach to key west. We are 2 people ( couple ) first I thought will rent car and last movement we decided to take double decker bus. So we both can enjoy on road without any worries.

This was an amazing experience! Lewis is top tier when it comes to customer service. He was thorough, ensured everyone was accounted for and he is super kind hearted. He even got my cousin and I an Uber for our return trip home. Key West overall was great. We did the hop on hop off trolley and were able to see the whole island and explore on the stops we found interesting. Highly recommended!

Bus infinitely beats driving. LONG way down. Huge bus. Upper level provided a great view of the keys on the way down. The driver was superbly competent - handled the bus like it was a small limo.

Great guide full of good info about the area. This is a LONG day trip, but worth it. Just be prepared.

Nice and easy way to travel to Key West to sit and relax and enjoy the view. Would be great if they could put the front seat options online since we were picked last didn't get chance.

The bus arrived on time for pickuo. We were the last pick up so we had to sit apart from one another. When the bus stops for breakfast you really have to move quickly...ordering on the app ahead is the way to go, otherwise you barely have enough time to grab breakfast and bathroom break. On the way back we got back to the bus early and sat together in the back...we literally froze. Make sure you have a sweatshirt or light blanket. The trolley is a nice way to get around Key West.....

It was a great experience, everything was planned and very on-time! I definitely recommend it to everyone!

This is our 3rd year with viator and the day trip to keywest. We have been blessed to meet luis,pepe and manny as the crew members that we have traveled with. They are extremely informative and entertaining throughout they entire trip. We highly recommend that you ask for them. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely see them again next year. It was a great trip. Really enjoyed at key west. Our guide Orlando was very informative about all the details, along the way to Key West. Further, the 6 hours time we got there was great as I explored myself at my own pace. Really satisfied.

Our experience was great. We traveled with a large party of 21 and Louis, our guide was phenomenal. Months before our tour, I knew we would be in great hands from the rapid responses received for all of my inquiries. The company was very patient, professional, and accommodating when dealing with me. Not only do I recommend this company, but I would book with them again.

My booking was confirmed and I was told to be ready at 06:55 outside my hotel. I was punctually picked up.  The coach bus was comfortable.  There was a lot of space.  Clean. Despite the pickups, it was done very efficiently and quickly.  We made a stop for breakfast after around one and a half hours of driving at McDonald's. The guide gave us a map of Key West and spoke about Key West's rich history and culture on our journey. Everything was explained; instructions were clear. We arrived at Key West at around 11:40. You have six hours at leisure.  You can purchase activities from the tour operator if you like.  We were told to meet the guide at 17:40 at the same point where we were dropped off for our return journey to Miami. On the way back, you will go directly to Miami with no stops.  There is a toilet on the coach bus. I preferred just going directly.  It was fine.  Most of us slept on the way back. We arrived in Miami arrived 21:15. I was dropped back at my hotel at around 21:40. Everything was as advertised. Two small negatives, the guide could have been way friendlier.  He was very rude.  The driver was driving way too fast on our return journey with a couple of near misses. I didn't bother to tip because of this. Safety should always come first. Would recommend otherwise.

This is great choice to Key West and will come back again the tour guide is very knowledgeable and helpful

Other than the very squeaky window where we were sitting, it was great. Luis did a great job as well as Manny, the driver.

You spend more time in the bus than you do in Key West. Maintenance problems with the bus. No air-conditioning going down or back. Absolutely miserable. I don't know who to blame. The driver or company dispatcher. Neither would ever accept responsibility so I'll hold both equally responsible. The 5 hours we spent in Key West was plenty of time to repair. Lack of effort was very obvious.

Nice trip overall. Luis was great. The bus ride is pretty long. I'd recommend saying a night or 2 in key west to make the travel time worth it

Bring your snacks and water, dress comfortably. Know what you want to do before you get to Key West.

A very long bus trip. The guide just left us on our own when we arrived at Key West with a time to return to the bus. So just a bus trip to Key West with some information on the way. Key West was interesting. Ernest Hemmingway house was a highlight.

Air conditioning on the Bus was set too low (freezing) and despite most passengers having to layer up nothing was done. Sound system on the vehicle needs improving or the guide needs more attention to articulate messages as the only time I really understood what was being said was when the topic covered Gratuity....... At gthe end of the day the bus was just a means of transport......the guide side was a big letdown

The guide on the bus was funny and very entertaining. Only bad thing was a maga-hat wearing German tourist (yes apparently they exist) which was getting up on the bus and occupying the whole central view even tho the guide told him multiple time to not do that. Too much time on the bus is advertisement for experience that you can buy once in key west.

Avoiding hassle driving, good and comfortable travel to Key West!!!! You can enjoy many things at Key West.

We really enjoyed this ride to Keywest - the pick up was on time and straight from our hotel doorsteps. As we had gone through the reviews - we were prepared to face the cold temperature inside the bus. The ride was very smooth and the instructions were very clearly communicated by Orlando who was the tour organizer. We reached keywest by 12 and got 6 hours at keywest. They drop us at the old town near to all the buzzling cafes and southern most point. If you have bags or anything which you dont want to carry with you you can leave them in the bus which was very convenient. We were stopped at Mcdonalds for breakfast - I wish it was some other nice cafe on the way. Also you need to pay 20 dollars extra for the front row seats - and this is only on a first come first serve basis. Orlando gave us details of all the water activities which we could do at the island - it would have been better if the team can also suggest best cafes, key lime pie spots, where to rent a bike etc as well. Since Keywest is famous for sunset, it would have been really good if the bus departs back only after that. Anyways all in all very happy with the trip!

Great day trip from Miami. The drive is long -3 plus hours but the bus was comfortable and the driver and guide did an excellent job making us feel comfortable and informed of the sights along the way. You get a full 6 hours in Key West independent of when you arrive. It was a great trip overall and we would do it again. It was so nice just enjoying the ride instead of driving. Maybe next time we’ll take advantage of the one way option and stay overnight. Again, I thought the tour was a great value.

Very pleased with all related to the tour, great experience, tour guide very helpful to what excursion to buy in Key West. Driver was excellent and in no rush to arrive.
