Worst trip ever the first mate Tyler is a liar a straight out liar would never go on the boat with him told lies about money he was given by me and Jenny which I wouldn't trust him two foot away with her personally and I know he has a girlfriend I wonder if she should know how he actually acts what he does on that boat what he does on the boat to my girl really. Not sorry and when I took bleach and I scrubbed the toilet the head on the boat because I guess the first mate it's above Tyler's pay grade doesn't ever clean the bathroom not to mention the lock on the door doesn't work so when I put my hand out to grab the door it's smashed my hand I get lied to by the captain the first mate never again never. Well my girl had to sit down on that toilet that had on the boat but I guess Tyler don't understand woman don't want to sit where it smells like a freaking Barn. It's not like he's catching Fisher or anything and the first fish that I caught was a hogfish which I never got to eat I told the first mate not to cut it up because I wanted more pictures and the mad dash off the boat the fish was left it's not like the captain or the first mate said hey Dave you forgot your fish I guess they ate it the number one taste in fish in Florida I would go on that boat if he paid me Captain Mark sucks and it's first mate sucks they both lie and lie and the birds are piece of s*** anyway

Mark, Crockett, & Tyler were great! We had a 2 year old, a 5 year old, and a 9 year old that they kept entertained through a whole day trip. I really appreciate Mark's hospitatlity. Great guy with a great personality. Even though we had seaweed everywhere, Mark kept the boat moving to find us fish.

I wanted to do something memorable with my son for his 13th B Day. I booked a day trip with Mark, we had a blast! On board was Captain Mark and Tyler his mate, both were very knowledgeable. I felt confident with our trip on the boat, saftey and the task at hand to enjoy ourselves and catch something worth talking about! Thank you, Mark! A down to earth guy providing memories for our family so he can feed his!

Mark the Shark was a gracious captain. He went out of his way to make sure we had lunch, and drinks, and beer/seltzers. And we caught a monster sailfish, 110 lbs and seven foot long? An almost 2 hr battle to land this monster, who broke the water five times!! It was an amazing trip!! Best memory of our trip!!

I booked a four-hour fishing trip with Mark the Shark and paid well in advance. We showed up on time, everything started off fine, and although we didn’t catch anything at all, alot of promises but nothing, that part isn’t even the issue. The real problem began afterward. By mistake, I sent Mark an extra $650. I immediately told him it was an error, and he assured me he would send it back. First, he said he was sending it. Then he said his wife would send it. Then it became his people sending it. And finally, he told me the money had already been sent — which was simply not true. Since then, I’ve been contacting him repeatedly, asking for the refund I’m owed, and he has not returned it. I don’t mind paying for the actual service. What I do mind is sending money by accident and being misled and ignored when trying to correct the mistake. He avoids texts, avoids giving me anyone else to speak to, and avoids taking responsibility. This is not how you run a business. Unfortunately, he’s now lost a customer — and I hope others take note of how he handles situations like this.

Highly recommend!! We booked a trip for the day before my wedding for me and a couple friends from the UK, from then on mark was fantastic at keeping us in the loop ahead of the trip and trying his upmost to make it as easy as possible ahead of arrival. We where kindly greeted by mark himself and his mate Tyler, they where both eager to get us out on the water but not before making sure we as guests had everything we need! We then set sail and not 10 minutes after we where catching bait fish on our way out. After we had a good supply of bait for the morning ahead we then swapped tactics and tried some trolling, 15 minutes in and BAM huge sailfish took our bait and an awesome battle followed. Whilst the fish was on both mark and Tyler where very helpful and gave solid advice to ensure I kept the fish on. Once landed we had plenty of time for pictures before releasing it back into the water. On our way back in I was presented with a surprise personalised congratulations cake ahead of my wedding the following day. DO NOT listen to the negative reviews, likely these people have never stepped foot on a boat with this fishing legend and hate on him because they don’t like to see people have fun and put fish on the deck. If you want a fish of a lifetime let the pictures do the talking!! 2 weeks on and today I received printed photos from our trip from mark himself, once again going the extra mile. Many thanks mark & team, Nath & the boys from Uk (I will be back for a monster shark!)

we visit Florida several times a year and have been on several different charter boats but nothing compares to mark the shark! mark the shark is the consummate professional! if you’re looking to book a fishing excursion look no further there is nothing better out there. If you book on Viator, just be aware that THIS TOUR DOES NOT PICK UP AT YOUR HOTEL as in description. Also, it is in Ft. Lauderdale (not Miami). We still went b/c this was one of the main reasons we went to Miami. So expect to spend $200+ in Ubers for trip up and back from Miami. Big fish (or any fish) weren't biting the day we went, but it was still a nice day on the water and Mark did everything he could to try to find the fish. (We moved locations, etc). He is an excellent captain and fisherman...just need the Viator listing to be updated so that people know before they arrive that there is no hotel pick up.

Absolutely fantastic lads were great friendly professionals to the game I took my 11 year old son who caught a sail fish a sand bar shark and a tuna what an experience would highly recommend. Thanks mark to you and your crew hope to see you again.

Have been going out with Mark for 20+ years, and always a great time! Can’t remember if we ever did not catch a fish, but even if you don’t, the true conversation and laughs will keep you riveted with a dent in your mind forever. Yesterday was a great fish day, but I told him that his boat is the ultimate stress reliever for me.. Great times!!

We went out by Lighthouse Point and trolled south and caught Bonita and Black tipped tuna….only to find out the fish we caught were actually bait fish!! As Mark turned the boat around, First mate Tyler got the poles ready for the hunt. Finn (15) soon had one on and reeled in a 64” Sailfish. Right after that, Dylan (16) spent over a hour reeling in a ~ 400 pound Bull Shark. Mark “reely” ;-) is a great fish HUNTER. ….and Tyler was an excellent first mate! Dad, brother Steve, Friend Dave, nephews Dylan and Finn, and I…Everyone… had a great time. What a fun fishing trip….highly recommend it. Can’t wait to go back to Pompano Beach, FL and do this again in December. Thank you Mark and Tyler….and Crockett. You guys are great!

I have to say the fishing trip I booked with two friends had to be one of the most memorable experiences. The boat is amazing the crew is friendly and helpful. Mark the Shark the boats captain is simply the best. He interacts with the passengers filling them in on sea life and displays a true love for the ocean and all it contains. A genuine good time. I personally caught the sailfish I have always dreamed of catching. Thanks to the crew’s guidance. I will definitely be a repeat customer. And bring friends and tell friends about the experience. I researched several charter boats prior to booking the trip. Hands down this was definitely the best choice.

I had an incredible experience the day I went fishing w/ Mark the Shark. One of the best days of fishing I’ve ever had. The first catch of the day was a huge barracuda. Sitting in the chair over the stern of the boat is so cool all you see is water. The second fish I caught was a big Hammerhead shark, it was 12’ long , absolutely an amazing fish. Good fight too. Booking a trip on this boat was an amazing experience, something I will never forget. The captain is super knowledgeable, you can tell he has fished this area his whole life. When you are not catching fish there are plenty of ‘fish stories’ being told, we laughed and joked all day. The first mate works very hard getting all rods organized, lines bated and in the water. This trip was something I will always remember. I will definitely be booking another trip on this boat. If you want to make lifelong memories that you will never forget do yourself a favor and go fishing with Mark the Shark!!

This is 2 seperate reviews. Went fishing with the world famous mark the shark in April 2023 had an awesome time. What can I say. It’s Mark the shark. The famous fisherman that has been on many many fishing shows, article etc. Best in the business. And in April 2025 we sent our children with Captain Crockett and Mr Mark the shark to go iguana hunting in the pompano area. The kids had the best time. It truly made our trip. Mark was so gracious and good with our 3 boys. We will definitely book with Mark for our next fishing adventure and send the kids iguana hunting again. Thank you again to Mark and Crockett. This seems like it would have been fun! Unfortunately, the operator is a liar and despite listing several places around Miami he will pick you up, instead informed us 3 days before that we were welcome to travel 40 miles to his boat or otherwise be cancelled. He provided a refund but do you lnot count on actually going fishing if you book with this guy.

This trip with Mark was insane!! Off the bat, Mark was very welcoming and helped us with finding parking and loading up our drinks on the boat. Then we drove out to the open water to start fishing. There were 8 of us and none of us had gone open water fishing before. My fiance was the one fishing while the rest of us were on the second deck enjoying the views and watching him (it was a birthday gift for him). It was a rough day on the water due to high winds so 3 of us got sick. It happens. But within less than an hour in, my fiance caught a big sailfish!! He says it was one of the coolest things he’s done. We got the fish on the boat and took a picture with it. After the excitement, we headed back to the dock due to my sister and her boyfriend not doing good (super sea sick). Overall amazing experience, Mark is hilarious and I would recommend this trip to anyone!

I went attempting to catch a shark for two days, and on the second day we caught an enormous Tiger Shark weighing in at 400kg/890lb. Update: I want to warn about the service after with Rus selling images and parts of the shark, I got scammed and never gotten the package even though it was attempted to delivered twice. What started as a simple purchase turned into months of back-and-forth communications, missing items, and ultimately demands for additional payment.

This guy is breaking the law and runs an unsafe charter. He should be shut down. He was kicked out of Miami and should be banned from Florida for poaching protected species

Had a bad experience with this charter. Paid over 1k to be insulted for over three hours. His jokes weren’t light hearted or good natured…they were nasty and inappropriate. We booked this trip to have a nice family experience and not one of the 9 of us enjoyed ourselves. His mate was sweet…but Mark didn’t even seem to treat him well. Overall a very uncomfortable time.

A group of us were in town for a work conference and decided to duck out and try to catch something on Monday morning for a few hours. Mark was a dream to deal w/ and had us all teed up and ready to go - it was blowing pretty fierce outside of the inlet, so we figured we would try to catch stuff in the IC - maybe some jacks, or even a little shark.... Little did we know. Ended up hooking up on a 200lb bull shark right in the IC at the mouth of the inlet, and fought it for an hour plus on light tackle, all while dodging the goobers parading back from the boat show. Beast of a fight, and a hell of a great day on the water with Mark and his crew.

They threw trash into the water constantly, very unpleasant and unprofessional people to be a round. We haven't fished in years and hoped this would be fun, but we got made fun of and made uncomfortable very early into the trip. We wanted to get off and he kept riding around basically wasting our time. Please read the reviews of other 1 star as well because we have confirmed that we had similar experiences and very much disliked and regretted the experience.

What a scam. Worst trip ever and a huge waste of money. Went with my girlfriend because she loves fishing and they made inappropriate jokes about her and got mad when she didn’t want to keep the shark she caught as it was endangered and she doesn’t really like keeping catches anyway. Ended up going back early too and didn’t get a discount for the time we should’ve still been fishing. Save yourself money and girlfriend the embarrassment of fishing with them and go somewhere else. 1/10

He was late, rude and was absolutely wasted during the tour. Reeked of alcohol! Also he bragged about killing endanger spieces. Vile behavior.
