Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Experience

We had great weather, a great time and great experience!!! Our next trip we will definitely book with Captain Ed and 1st Mate Ian.

My kids favorite part of our vacation! This was such a great family fishing trip for us! We went with our 3 kids aged 10,8, and 5. Captain Ed and Ian did a great job teaching us how to fish. They were extremely attentive to the kids and helped them catch over 20 fish a piece! When we got back to the dock they prepped the fish for us and recommended fed a restaurant to bring it to after and we had enough fish to eat for 3 days!! We will be booking with Ed again next year! I highly recommend!!

Captain Ed and Ian were phenomenal. Ian hustled by keeping our bait on the hook and helped our kids reel the fish in. Captain Ed kept us safe as the storms approached. We caught so many interesting fish and had a delicious dinner with the snapper caught: highly recommend.

Fabulous experience! My husband, our two kids - 10+ 12, and I did a 4 hour charter with Wet Tails and it was FABULOUS! Ed and Ian were super helpful, patient with us, and made everything extraordinarily fun! We saw a bull shark - and caught plenty of fish!

I’ve done many inshore fishing trips. This one topped them all. We caught probably 100 fish in the 6 hours. Captain Ed and first mate Ian were fantastic!

We caught over 40 fish in less than 3 hours. We kept 15 of the biggest ones and had fish for the remainder of the week. The crew was great and took care of everything we needed. Ian works his tail off and ensures you are fishing the entire time you are on the boat. He deserves every penny you give him. My wife and I have been on other fishing charters but this one is the best! We will go out with these guys from now on.

We had so much fun! Ken and Ian were very kind, super helpful, and fun to spend the day with. There were six of us on the trip, none of us knew how to fish, and we caught SO MANY FISH! They knew exactly where to go. We even saw bull sharks trying. To feast on our catch! Ken then recommended a restaurant to take the fish so we could enjoy an amazing meal. It was a wonderful experience! Bring a good tip for Ian - he works hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. They’re a great duo.

We had a wonderful afternoon on board the ship with Ed and Michael! They were very helpful and kind. They provided all the gear and bait as well as helpful tips. We fished in two different locations and along the way we saw dolphins, two sea turtles and a manatee! Our fished were cleaned for us and Ed recommended a place to eat that would cook what we caught.a It was great and we would totally do it again in a heartbeat!

Captain Ed and Mikey are a Great Team! We highly recommend this private charter. Both Captain and Son are very personable and attentive to passenger comfort. And, we hope Mikey catches that record breaking Yellow Jack!

It was a great overall trip. Captain Ed and his son Mike did a great job with us. It was windy so we could not go to the Atlantic side to the reef, but Captain Ed took us to the Gulf side and did everything he could to put us on the fish. Me and all the kids landed fish and had a great time. We plan to come back to do a an offshore trip with them.

We had three super rookie fisherman and one more experienced fisherman in the trip and they were great with all of us! Both Capt. and Ian were helpful, attentive and entertaining. I booked a 4 hour charter with Capt. Ed for 5 Adults (one Dad and four college guys). Our experience level was from zero to average. There was more than enough space, gear and supplies. Capt Ed and his son Michael helped keep everything moving and gave everyone tips and directions on how to land fish. We had a great time and would do it again anytime. Easy access to the docks and a great location on Marathon Key.

We did a 4 hour charter and could not have asked for a better experience. We caught so many incredible fish - yellow tail jacks, Spanish mackerel, snapper, hog fish, and more! Some of the largest and most unique fish we’d ever caught! The father/son duo of Captain Ed and first mate Mikey were super knowledgeable about the area and where to fish for different species. I don’t love baiting my own line, and never needed to - Mikey always had bait at the ready. When our time was up, he had our catch filleted in no time. They even recommended a local restaurant that prepared our catch for dinner. We loved our sea to table experience and will definitely be booking with them again on our next trip to Marathon! Fantastic! Best fishing charter we have ever been on. In fact, the first trip was so good we booked a second Charter during our trip . Captain Ed and his first mate Mikey (son) were very friendly and knowledgeable in our trip. Great experience for families! My boys wanted to catch lots of fish and my husband wanted to catch some fish that would put up a fight Captain Ed delivered on both! Despite weather conditions, they put us right in the best places to catch what we wanted. He even slowed the boat down to have the dolphins play in the wake for us. Captain Ed give us some restaurant suggestions that served hook and cook options that were amazing with our catch. He even recommended how we should pack our fish to keep them frozen on our flight home. We were able to bring lots of fish home to share with ourfamily when we got back. Had a great trip catching yellow jacks and sierra macs with Captain Ed and mate Mikey. They are both knowledgeable and extremely helpful and certain know where and when the fish are biting. The equipment provided was high quality and it's clear that they quickly assess your skill level and respond accordingly. We'll be fishing again with them in the future.

The captain and first mate were professional and personable. We caught a lot of yellow jacks- and they were cleaned perfectly. Would book again.

Captain Ed and first assistant Mikey were very knowledgeable and patient with us. I took my 2 sons (14 and 11) and father in law a few days before Thanksgiving. We all had a blast. We trolled for Mahi on the first portion of the trip about 10 miles from shore and 400 foot depth. We caught 4 Mahi (lost one as we were reeling) and then headed to 7 mile bridge and caught several jacks, snapper, and other fish. The trip lasted from 8-145. They cleaned the fish for us and we made delicious fried fish tacos the same night. I would highly recommend Captain Ed and We Tail charters.

Everything about this trip with Wet Tails Charter was excellent! Ed and his sons showed my husband and I a wonderful time! They were fun to be talk to and very knowledgeable about all the fish we caught. If you are thinking of doing a fishing trip in the Keys, look no further! The rates were very reasonable for a private charter and you will catch fish! Ed will even recommend where you can take them so they can cook them for you. We ended up going to Island Fish Company, but we also have enough fish for a second night too! Ed will have plenty of ice, but bring a small cooler with you to take the fish home. We will definitely book with Wet Tails again!

Great fishing experience with Captain Ed and Mikey. Would definitely recommend and also repeat. They made our little family vacation just more memorable. He even recommend a local restaurant which would prepare our fresh catch. We can't wait to return.

We did a 4 hour afternoon trip and we came home with a cooler full of fish that they cleaned for us and directed us to a local restaurant who cooked some for us that night! Wet tails fishing charter was a great experience. We had so much fun fishing and boating. Ed and Mikey worked together as a great team to make sure we caught our limit. They also gave us a great recommendation for a hook and cook experience in marathon.

Had an excellent time fishing with my two boys age 8 and 14. We caught plenty of fish which we took to a local restaurant for a delicious dinner. Captain Ed and his first mate Mikey made sure we had a great time and were well taken care of. They had a cooler full of cold drinks, all the bait, poles and tackle we needed. They would bait our hooks, take the fish off the line and when we were finished, Mikey filet the fish and packed them up for us to enjoy. Captain Ed and Mikey are very professional, patient with my kids and made our experience fun and exciting. I would highly recommend wet tails fishing to anyone.

Our family of 5 went on a 4-hour fishing excursion with Captain Ed & Mike on Christmas Eve. This was our first trip to the Florida Keys. Despite a few periods of rain, Ed and Mike made this a memorable day on the water for our family. Their patience, expertise, and experience are top-notch and it was quite evident that they love what they do! Our boys had the opportunity to catch fish that we don't see up North. We would highly recommend Wet Tails Charters & will book with them the next time we travel to the Keys.

We had a great time on our fishing Charter, the father and son (Captain and first mate) made my wife and me feel like family within a few minutes of meeting them. We caught more that 30 fish of more than 7 varieties, my wife caught 2/3 of them, I think they were giving her lucky bait :) Best thing all is they aren't clock watchers, they were happy if we were happy. We are planning to go out again next month with another couple. Do yourself a favor and book this, you won't be disappointed.

My wife, son and myself went out with Captain Taylor and his wonderful son. We went on both the east and west side of Marathon. We caught plenty of fish and had a wonderful time. Captain and his first mate are great at giving an experience of ocean fishing without having to know or do much of the work. We'll worth it!!

First time sea fishing for my son and I, Captain Ed Traylor and First Mate Mike made sure it was memorable. We booked an inshore fishing trip; caught a few different types of fish (got to see several other kinds while out). To top it off, we had a little time at the end to go snorkeling.
