Fitz was an amazing guide for the mangrove kayaking. We were new to kayaking and he got us up and running in no time. He has lots of information on the wildlife and history, so we were always entertained. Highly recommend

Dress for the heat, wear a hat and don't have any plans for using your arms the next day. They won't work. Lol
Would’ve given it five stars, but we did not get the photos that were taken, and when I called and asked for them to be resent, I still did not get them and that breaks my heart because it’s the only memories we would’ve gotten because they told us not to take our phones out because they would be snapping photos.
Patrick was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about the area and native plants, wildlife. We saw a manatee which was very cool! Length of tour is perfect.
We booked the Mangrove Tunnels too get into the channels ans see something different. Our guide Mark was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and gave us many recommendations for the area. The entire process from booking to launching was very easy. We would recommend this to anyone looking g for a laid back excursion that is outside the beach!
This was a fantastic activity to Do we had so much fun with the tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and stayed with us the entire time and we seen manatees!!
Great adventure. The area is beautiful. The guide was very knowledgeable making it a fun experience. I recommend this event.
Mark was awesome. My kids and I had a lot of fun. Totally worth the experience.
It was a great time! Our guide, Connor was friendly and experienced. I would recommend it for first time kayaking because the current helped push you along.
Superb time out on the canoes. Our guide, Fitz, was a real pleasure and full of local knowledge. Nothing was rushed and the experience out in the mangroves was certainly something to remember. A highly recommended way to pass a few hours at a great price!!
It was a bit disappointing. We didn't really see any cool animals -- just tiny crab and tiny jellyfish.
This was a peaceful, educational experience with a local guide. He was an engaging thoughtful person who took pix for our family and shared them with us. He gave us local recommendations for food joints and must-see spots.
It was a very fun relaxing experience. The staff at the store were friendly and helpful. From the store you drive to John Pennecamp State Park, the fee to get in is part of your tour so you can stay and explore after the tour. Our guide Connor did a wonderful job. He was informative and helpful and took pictures for us which he shared with us. You don't really need your phone. It was just what we wanted for a kayak experience. We kayak at a lake back home and weren't sure if we needed a tour but it was perfect. You do get in the water at one point to swim. Make sure the pockets in your suit are empty. Also he provides water so you just need a bottle for refills. Highly recommend
For active travellers staying with us at Kawama Tower 406, we highly recommend Florida Bay Outfitters for premium backcountry exploration. They provide fully safety-inspected, compliant kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) rentals with convenient drop-off options right to the Kawama Yacht Club. Launching from their pristine site next to the Caribbean Club gives you immediate access to spectacular mangrove-canopied channels like Dusenbury Creek. It offers an incredible 75% chance of spotting wild wintering manatees, bottlenose dolphins, and rare migratory birds at close quarters in a safe, fully insured manner.
We had a great experience! Mark was the best guide! The mangroves are awesome! Would 100% do it again!
Great Family fun!! Guides were very friendly and took pics of everyone.
We did the 1:30 kayak tour on a Tuesday. Fritz was an awesome guide that led us through the mangroves for 2 hours. We didn’t see any manatees, but it was still fun. Highly recommend this company for kayak tours.
This was a fun trip and we appreciate our trip contact being helpful and assuring us that we were good to go when our reservation was lost due to switching to a new scheduling software. We got started late, but still had our full tour experience. Weather was beautiful and the mangrove tunnels were unbelievable and fun to maneuver through. We were a little slower than the rest of the group, but they always waited for us up ahead. You are also able to stay in the state park after the adventure, so bring some snorkeling gear and some dry clothes to change into. Changing rooms are available and a great food truck for a meal.
Great kayaking tour extremely knowledgeable tour guide Mark! Super patient with all the guests, gave great recommendations for all of the Florida Keys. Would definitely recommend 10/10!
Having a tour guide is always more expensive than venturing out alone but we love the knowledge sharing a tour guide provides. Well worth the extra money. Our time slot was overbooked but the tour guide made it a great time anyway. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had a great time with Bob and learned all about the local marine life. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I would highly recommend!
My husband and I had a terrific time exploring the mangroves with our guide, Zach. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the wildlife we saw. We couldn’t have gotten out of the maze of mangroves without him! We saw barracudas, Cassiopeia jellyfish, snappers, and different birds.
Steven was a great guide and very knowledgeable about all the plants and wildlife. We had a fun kayaking through the tunnels! Bring your camera!
We had a great time on this outing. Our guide, Mark. Was great. He found out enough about us before the tour so he tailored the info based on our past experiences. The tour was not rushed. He gave us options along the way and was always ready to answer any questions we had.
Stephen was our guide and provided great info on the mangroves and wildlife. Very helpful and informative. Only disappointment was that the woman at the store/office told us not to bring phones/cameras and we wish we had. Stephen did take our picture but taking our own pics would have been easy as the waters were very calm. We had considered just renting kayaks at the park on our own but we are glad we did the tour. The paths are tricky to navigate and solo kayakers were seeking Stephen’s guidance on which way to go. Great trip!
Overall I enjoyed my experience on this kayak tour. Steven and Memo were our guides, they both were pretty chill & provided us with knowledge and facts regarding the ecosystem. The tour was listed as 3 hours, however we left late & ended early this is why I deducted a Star.
Bob is great - native knowledge with a chill vibe. Bring a mask and snorkel to swim/float in the tunnel section with current. To see fish and colorful sponges.
Easy kayaking through mangrove tunnels of John Pennekamp park with a knowledgeable and very nice guide. Some experience is definitely required for a smooth trip even though the description says none is required. Bring extra water with you and sunscreen! We met at the Florida Outfitters to register then drove to the park and launch point. Our tour started late, and even though the guide said we would kayak later to make up the time, we ended on time which was disappointing. Regardless, my family (including the teenager) had a fun time. We are not super experienced kayakers, so having a guide to navigate the mangroves was perfect for us.
Kayaking among the meandering mangroves provides some shade on a warm day. We saw fish but not much else. You not need to rent for 1 hour to do a loop and could have saved the money we spent on a second hour. No manatees sited in the park
We had a wonderful experience. Bob, the guide was so knowledgeable. We loved the entire trip. It was very relaxing and fun experience. Our kids are 15 and 9 and loved the trip. Even if you had no kayaking experience it’s the perfect trip. You could also take kids much younger.
Fun adventure. Pretty windy day so we didn’t see a ton of animals. Steven was a great guide, loved his knowledge & vibe.
Stephen was knowledgeable and had a good eye for spotting wildlife. Well worth it. We had a memorable time and lovely experience.
Our guide Steven was fantastic. He shared his expert knowledge of Florida Mangroves throughout our kayak excursion and shared his passion for the animals and environment. We had a couple close encounters with Manatee!
What a fantastic experience to begin our vacation in The Keys. Steven was a wonderful guide who’s passionate about nature. He’s very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and spent time showing our group how to kayak. This is good for first time kayakers in the Keys. Thank you Steven for a wonderful, peaceful morning!
The guides are amazing and helpful. The organizers are very accommodating. You don't have to be experienced to enjoy the day on the water.
You have to do it! I have never kayaked before our tour guide Steven made it perfect. Learned about the ecosystem and wildlife along the way
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We were worried because it was a windy day but the mangroves block it all and it turned out to be a very peaceful ride through the mangroves, no ruff seas or wind chill. Our guide was very helpful and informative.
We had a great time! Joe Joe was our guide & he was a great kid! Very talkative and answered all of our questions! 👍🏻 Nice experience.
Excellent experience! They took care of everything from snacks to water to towels! The guide took pictures throughout the trip and shared with each party in the group!!
Fun afternoon with the family. Mangroves are beautiful. Did not see much wildlife but overall was worth it. Our guide, Mark, was knowledgeable and fun.
This involved in moderate physical activity. It was very fun and our guy did a great job keeping us all together.
Wonderful tour guide and learned about the history of the land and different types of coral. Would do this again!
We were lucky enough to get a private session with Jojo. He was an amazing tour guide and the trip was perfect at high tide going through the small tunnels. I don't think taking kids through the tunnels is a good idea, they are tight. Too tight to paddle through some. Worth the little extra for the guided tour. Without a guide I can see people getting lost and turned around in the mangroves.
Friendly informative and fun!
We had a group of 10 for a ladies birthday weekend in Key Largo. Joe Joe was our guide and he was fantastic. The group had so much fun and we saw manatees at the end. We highly recommend this kayak trip.
The experience was so fun! Noah was our guide and he was awesome! I highly suggest doing this activity if you are familiar with kayaking. Worth the value I think.
Lots of fun and Mark was great! Everything was seamless and worth the money. Will do again when back. Gift store is very nice too.
It was a great experience and the guide was laid back and patient and informative. Well worth the price
It was great having a tour guide that explained a lot about the history and the wildlife we encountered. Bob was great!
Excellent experience in beautiful, serene mangrove canals with crystal clear water. Our guide, Joejoe was very knowledgeable and committed to teaching us about the fish, flora and crustaceans, even picking up a barracuda to show us its' teeth. Highly recommend.
