Itinerary
Our tours are small by design and our Manatees and Mangroves tour is the absolute best location in Collier County for spotting manatees from your kayak. Manatees are most abundant here during the colder winter months. Guests can expect to see manatees (best during colder periods), alligators, numerous bird species all while kayaking through some of the most extensive mangrove tunnels in the area. During the Winter months with colder water temperatures, the manatees congregate in large numbers in the deeper canal. The canal's deeper water does not cool down as much as the surrounding Gulf of Mexico waters. Providing the manatees with water temps above 68 degrees. We will spend around 30 minutes in the canals looking for manatees and around 2-2.5 hours in the mangrove tunnels and salt marsh habitat. This is considered a "downwinder" type tour. Guests will hop in our passenger van (WE ARE OFFERING INDIVIDUAL SHUTTLES PER HOUSEHOLD, PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY FOR THIS SERVICE) Will shuttle you 1 mile down the road allowing us to kayak back to the marina around 4 miles.

This was such a wonderful excursion. The guides were super knowledgeable and nice. I learned so much about this special ecosystem and the impacts of construction and environmental shifts. I would 100% go again and recommended this to any friend.
No wildlife, do not go in June. We barely seen a manatee that my 10 year old son found. Not worth the money, this is a tourist take your money trap.
Great experience. Small group. Kayak drop off and pick up is right by the check in area so you aren't spending 1/2 hour in a van traveling to and from. The guides were amazing and so knowledgeable. The provided mosquito netting which as a game changer this trip. Sad that the wildlife is so dissipated from the anaconda population.
Kayaking through the mangrove trees, appreciating the history and the beauty of the land through our amazing tour guide Adam, was an experience that we will talk about for the rest of our lives. Highly recommend giving this a go and getting out there! Also, got to see some manatees up close and personal!
Great experience. Adam our guide did an amazing job! We all highly recommend this tour! We will be back.
An unforgettable morning with Adam — manatees, mangroves, and pure magic We did the Manatees & Mangroves kayak tour out of Port of the Islands with Adventure Paddle Tours and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Naples. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth — confirmation texts, easy check-in, and top-quality gear ready to go. Our guide Adam absolutely made the trip. He was friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about the 10,000 Islands and the Everglades. He took the time to give us a proper paddling lesson before we launched, kept the group of 7 close-knit and comfortable, and had an incredible eye for wildlife — we spotted a variety of birds, and even glided through the most beautiful mangrove tunnels I’ve ever seen. Adam shared just the right mix of ecology, local history, and humor without it ever feeling like a lecture. You can tell he truly lives and loves this place. The small group size (way better than the crowded tours elsewhere) made it feel personal, and the free HD photos he took were a wonderful surprise to take home. Three hours flew by. If you’re in Naples and on the fence — book it. Ask for Adam if you can. Worth every penny, and I’ll absolutely be back!
Adam is a great guide and we had a great time!
Excellent communication. Adam went out of his way to have us experience as many native animals and plants as possible. Big on our list of course were manatees and alligators and we saw both! He did not rush us and gave us helpful suggestions for navigating the mangroves. I would highly recommend this tour to family, friends, and everyone else!
Adam was such a knowledgeable guide! After a quick set of instructions, we were on our way to a beautiful adventure. The mangroves created a challenging, yet fun course. As a bonus, we came across a 6 foot alligator! And a ton of bull sharks! I highly recommend this tour! It did not disappoint!
This tour was excellentThis is a great tour. My 16 year old son and I did this tour on a cloudy day in early April. It was about 72 degrees. The meeting point was clear, the organization was well done and the guide was informative and clear. Our guide was Adam and he did a fantastic job. The thing I like about kayaking is that it is accessible to more people than hiking or biking but it gets you closer to nature than a tour on a larger boat. Plus the only way to really navigate the mangroves is via a small flat bottom boat like a kayak. Only thing to keep in mind: Depending on recent rains and depending on cloud cover, you may not be able to find or see manatees. However, we were happy with the alligators, bull sharks, heron and other animals we were able to observe in their habitat. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

This tour was incredible. I would give them 100 stars if I could. Jimmy, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. We saw countless bull sharks, alligators, and manatees. Jimmy did everything he could to ensure every member of our tour group got the chance to see every animal. The tour was the perfect amount of time and beautiful. You can tell the guys who run this are passionate about what they do. The entire tour was highly organized and seamless. Jimmy took so many great pictures of us too! This will be a lifetime memory for our family. I highly recommend this tour!
My family had a great time kayaking through the mangroves. Our guide was knowledgeable and kept us safe
An authentic kayak tour through the mangroves. This tour gave you a very up close and authentic look at the mangroves. Kayaking through a very large areaof mangroves and allowing us to see several birds and fish. We did not see gators or manatees, but it was still a great kayak experience A word of caution is that this does require actual paddling through some open water with some wind.
Went on the tour today with Adam. He was a great guide and I had the best time. I would highly recommend this tour, go book it.
Adam was a great guide. The entire staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Very efficient and friendly. Thank you.
Adam was an informative and friendly tour guide. He explained well all the info we needed to know throughout the tour. We saw manatees and an alligator and learned about the mangroves and pythons and some bird species. Fun morning. Highly recommend.
My son and I did this trip as part of our spring break road trip. We kayak or canoe rivers throughout the state each year. The Mangrove and Manatees kayak trip was very unique as it was a more intimate expierence due to the narrow creeks and mangrove tunnels vs the typically wider rivers in Florida. For most of the trip the creek is just slightly wider than the kayak and the flora and fauna change from freshwater to brackish to salt. Our guide was Adam who was very engaging and attentive to his clients the whole trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a unique kayaking expierence.
Great experience!! Loved paddling through the mangrove tunnels, saw several birds, an alligator and manatees. Our guide, Adam was very knowledgable, personable, prioritized safety and made sure everyone was included - thanks for a great trip! Highly recommend!
Long and boring. Did not see any animal other than a blue crab. We were single file through the mangrove with the leader in the front, so if he was saying anything of interest, those of us in the back of the line couldn't hear it anyway. This was our most expensive tour and by far the most disappointing.
We went on the Mangroves and Manatees kayak tour as a group of 4 and split into two tandem kayaks. This tour was really nice!! I enjoyed getting to kayak through the mangroves and get a better look at the Everglades. It had been so dry for them recently so a lot of the route was pretty shallow but the route was pretty easy, and our guide Jimmy was amazing with leading us! There were some tight turns and you'll probably run into some of the mangroves but still easy to follow Jimmy. Jimmy was an excellent guide in terms of leading the group and pointing things out on the route. You do only get 1 chance to go to the bathroom at a little sandbar (behind some trees) about halfway in when you take a short break. It was also hard to see the manatees but they were definitely there, and we did see some noses poking out and flipper “footprints.” It wasn’t the guide’s fault that the manatees weren’t really coming up. Overall it was a very nice excursion!
Dad took two kids (8 & 10) and we went out with another family, total size was six people altogether, which was a perfect size to stay close to our guide Jimmy. We saw a handful of manatees in the bay, then paddled out to the magrove forests. Jimmy was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. Gliding through the mangroves--and especially the super cool narrow tunnels beneath the leaves--was a really amazing way to see the coastal Everglades environment. Definitely recommended!
Adam made this a very experience. He is very knowledgeable about the area and made the trip. Very interesting for us. We would definitely do it again.
It was AMAZING! The mangroves were awesome to kayak through, such a wonderful experience! Adam was chill and patient. So glad we did it.
We had a fantastic 3 hour tour with Jimmy yesterday and it was so much fun! He really focused on giving us time to see manatees in the marina and we were able to catch sight of 2-3 of them! The paddling was at a good pace. We went through mangrove tunnels and along different shores, and Jimmy was great at pointing out native plants and wildlife. It was so much fun! There was even a moment when we got to take a little break and stood on a sand bar in the mangroves to stretch our legs which was nice. He took great photos of us (free and emailed after the trip) and was focused on not rushing our experience. I highly recommend this tour! We drove an hour and a half from Homestead and back later that night and it was worth every second of driving!
We had an amazing experience with Adam as our tour guide exploring the manatees and mangrove tunnels. He is incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about the wildlife and ecosystem, which made the whole experience even more special. We were able to see the stunning beauty of the mangroves up close, and we were lucky enough to spot manatees as well! Adam shared so many interesting facts and made sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the tour. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish — we really enjoyed it and would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore nature and see these incredible animals in their natural habitat. Jimmy and the rest of the team were amazing. Highly organized, efficient, knowledgeable about the area and keeping a group together and encouraged. Highly recommend a tour with them. Jimmy was especially helpful in that he helped guide me back in a tow when the returning wind and currents got tricky.
Our driver Christian was great!
Great tour! Adam was a fantastic guide. We saw manatee, gators, bull sharks and blue crabs. Mangroves were amazing.
Adam was an excellent tour guide. We saw many manatees and one bull shark. It was fun!
Adam did a great job as our kayak tour guide for the manatees and mangroves trip. We will recommend this company to our friends.
We had a fantastic time on this tour with Adam! It was the perfect blend of learning and exploring the beautiful mangroves, and seeing several manatees was such a highlight. On a previous trip to Naples, we did a different kayak tour that fell short, so this experience was an especially pleasant surprise. Thank you, Adventure Paddle Tours, for such a fun and memorable afternoon!
We had a beautiful day and the kayaking was fabulous. We saw several manatees and the trip through the mangrove tunnels was magical. Adam was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge about the area
Wonderful experience! Saw several manatees, and the mangrove tour was really cool. Our guide,Jimmy, was extremely knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts as well as answered all questions we asked. In addition, Jimmy spotted an alligator, several bull sharks, many birds of all kinds, and a blue crab. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
Had a great kayak tour this morning! Our guide, Jimmy, was very friendly and super knowledgeable. We saw lots of manatees and paddling through the mangroves was really fun. Would definitely do it again!
This was a really fun tour. We saw some awesome birds and manatees. The weather made it difficult to see other animals like alligators or little sharks, but still so enjoyable. It was a great experience getting to kayak through the mangroves. The guides were skilled and knowledgeable. They were really fun to talk with. I highly recommend.
They had to cancel the trip because of weather conditions. They were great in keeping us informed ahead of time and they refunded me the entire amount of money that I had paid.
Adam was a fabulous tour guide, very lighthearted and knowledgable. Unfortunately, our tour had to be cut short because an 8-foot gator wouldn’t get out of our way to pass through the mangroves, despite Adam’s best efforts to encourage the gator to move. We returned safely a couple hours early and we were full refunded. Would still recommend!!!
Everything was great about the adventure. Learned a lot and leaders were great. Would highly recommend. Great to see all the animals and mangroves
My wife and I were lucky enough to see several manatees and a huge alligator on our trip. Our guide, Adam, was knowledgeable, informative, and incredibly hardworking throughout the entire tour. He kept the pace comfortable, answered every question, and was very accommodating. Water levels in parts of the mangroves were low, but that’s obviously out of anyone’s control. Adam handled it flawlessly and made sure none of us got stuck or slowed down. It was a memorable, well-run experience that I’d absolutely recommend.
Our guide Jimmy was outstanding! Extremely knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend this tour!!
Fun time going through the mangroves. Adam was a great guide knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend
Jimmy, our guide, could not have been more helpful. And fun!! Even though no manatees showed themselves, we enjoyed the experience tremendously.
Adam was our guide and as first timers he was patient, kind and very helpful. It was nice being in a small group and not feeling pressured. He was very knowledgeable about the Mangroves, what to expect, species we’d potentially see. It was a beautiful, exciting adventure I highly recommend!!!
Jimmy did a truly great job on our kayaking trip, as he was a good leader and a knowledgeable teacher. We were able to see so much wildlife, from many birds, manatees, and even an alligator
We had a great time kayaking in Everglades in a sunny day. It is so beautiful, peaceful and lots of fun. Our guide Jimmy is very warm, passionate and professional, knowledgeable. It is a good experience for us. Love it!
This was seriously the highlight of our trip. Adam our guide was incredible. We saw manatees, roseate spoonbills, so many birds, alligators, and a crocodile. I had a baby manatee come right up to my kayak and check me out.
Adam was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide who set us up to see a lot of wild life from birds to gators to manatees. The kayaking was super fun and not too much where we were exhausted by the end. Highly recommend!
Had a great time with knowledgeable guide (Kyle). Saw a lot of rare birds like a reddish egret; small sharks, gators, and snook. Accessed areas of 10,000 islands reserve only accessible by kayak. Guide very experienced.
