My wife and I had a PHENOMENAL time on a bioluminescence tour with Cocoa Kayaking! We went on a 8:30pm tour with Brooke and it was the best. The bioluminescent algae was cool enough, but the comb jellies were so fascinating. The excursion was a blend of fun and calm since it was so peaceful that late at night. The weather was great and while there weren’t a lot of bugs, you’ll want to spray yourself to be prepared. You will get wet… you need to step into the water before you climb into the kayak and water from the paddle will also get you. Just remember to wear sandals or shoes you don’t mind getting wet and bring a towel after. There wasn’t a bathroom open since it was so late so be prepared for that as well. Overall it was such a great experience and I would highly recommend Brooke and Cocoa Kayaking!

Well organized and a great night on water. The Bio and jelly fish was very cool. Over all a great night. Will be doing a day time trip next.
I love Kayaking and my niece loves to fish. We both love sea life so the jelly trip interested us. I have to be honest I was a bit worried about going out at night but we had a blast. Our guide was very nice and very knowledgeable about the Jellies and the area we kayaked. I highly recommend Cocoa Kayaking.
We had an incredible nighttime kayak adventure with Captain Mike from Coco Kayak Adventures, and it’s easily one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had on the water.Launching from Merritt Island, the evening was calm and clear—perfect conditions for stargazing. Captain Mike’s enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the area made the journey feel like a guided tour through nature’s hidden wonders. As we paddled under a sky bursting with stars, we were lucky enough to witness the satellite train gliding overhead—an awe-inspiring sight that added a surreal touch to the night. The real highlight? Discovering the comb jellies. These delicate, glowing creatures shimmered in the water like living jewels. Captain Mike helped us spot and gently observe them, turning a simple paddle into a magical encounter with bioluminescent life.Whether you’re a nature lover, a stargazer, or just looking for a peaceful escape, this tour delivers. Captain Mike’s passion and storytelling made the whole experience feel personal and unforgettable. Highly recommend!---
Comb Jellies are so amaxing. Captin Mike did an amazing job navigating our large group. He even lit our way and helped us in and out of our kyaks. He was educational rhoughtful and kind. He offered us bug spray. Best ever toured kyaking experience. Thank you. 🙂
We have been trying to get to Merritt island for YEARS to see the bioluminescence. Captain Mike and cocoa kayaking made our experience easy and memorable! We were able to see the bioluminescent algae and comb jellies! It was so cool and Mike is so knowledgeable about all things bioluminescent! He was a great guide and made for such a fun start to our vacation on Merritt island! Our teenagers and younger daughter had the most fun, as did my husband and myself! We highly recommend this tour and captain Mike!
Capt. Michael was amazing! Phenomenal experience and will recommend to everyone! Watching the glowing water sparkle was unbelievable. Catching the comb jellies was my absolute FAVORITE!
Jeff was an amazing guide and the bioluminescence was amazing. We were lucky and had mullet fish jump into our boat and caught jellyfish in our nets
Really enjoyed having Jeff as a guide. Very educational, learned about the importance of mangroves, learned about Comb Jellies. Had a great sense of humor but also made sure everyone was safe and having a good time.
Suzy and Jeff were absolutely amazing guides, very nice and super knowledgeable, highly highly recommend!
This was an amazing experience. Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable and patient. He made sure we saw the comb jellies, horseshoe crabs and bioluminescent algae. It was a beautiful night and we even saw a rocket launch. If you are curious about the natural beauty of Florida I highly recommend this tour.
We had a great adventure with Captain Mike! He was very knowledgeable about all things marine life! He courageously delves into the water, invoking a bravery within me that I have never experienced in the water! I was so comfortable that by the end I was dragging my hand though the water! Unbelievable! He found us so many comb jelly that I couldn't keep count! It was early in the season for Dinoflagellates but we saw them lighting up the nets like glitter! The whole trip back I noticed the clear bottom of the kayak flying over dinos like stars in warp speed! I definitely recommend this tour and Mike especially for any time of year! Go have the experience of a lifetime!!!
What an awesome experience! Captain Michael was great. So cool to find and learn about the glowing comb jellies. I would highly recommend going on the tour with Cocoa Kayaking and Captain Michael.
We were not sure before we booked, we hesitated a bit on a night kayak outing and the chance to see anything. Turned out we enjoyed every bit of the tour. Both Susie and Jeff are great. Both of them know the place well and very knowledgeable. They explained things very well. They did extra effort to show us more than we expected. We scooped up a lot of comb jelly and saw many bioluminescent planktons. They also found us horseshoes crabs. Thank you Susie and Jeff
Cocoa kayaking was professional from beginning to end. I was in a solo kayaker conundrum in that I was the only booking. They worked with me to organize an experience for which I would not have to pay for two. "Catfish" Chris was knowledgeable about the flora and fauna along the root. We were able to see Manali manatee, some birds, a dolphin, and of course the bioluminent algae. I was disappointed to miss the comb jellies as that was the purpose of my trip but wildlife cannot be controlled. My dog and I enjoyed the trip. I will have to try again in the summer on a new moon.
Our guide was amazing, he was very knowledgeable, we found a ton of jelly fish. Great experience. Would recommend to anyone.
My family and I had an awesome time with Mike! We caught a bunch of comb jellies and really enjoyed learning more about the area. The LED kayaks were super unique and fun, too. Would recommend to anyone!
This was an awesome experience. My niece came to visit and wanted to see the bioluminescence. That season was finished for the year, but there were comb jellies. So we went. Michael was great. He made sure we were safe getting in and out of the water/kayak through a gap in the mangroves. He was very informative about the environment and the process to find the jellies. He made no promises to find the comb jellies, but said he'd do his best. And he did great! We went out after dark and headed into the creek along the mangroves. Very quickly we were scooping comb jellies with a net! Some were put into a jar to observe the light production and see the combs. It was so cool. He released them after a short time so we didn't harm them. As we paddled around, we kept seeing them in the water as we moved them with our paddles. AND we saw some bioluminescence! It wasn't alot, but we could see it as the nets moved through the water. We had a great experience and will be back next year during the bioluminescence season! Thank you Michael and Cocoa Kayaking!
It rained all evening before our late night tour but thankfully the rain passed and Catfish Chris was able to take our family of 4 on a thoroughly amazing, sparkly, laid back chill "bucket list" experience! Would definitely do this again. Don't forget your bug spray though!
We had 5 family members on a night bio luminous kayaking tour. It was so much fun and out tour guide, Ian was fantastic! We caught tiny jellies and the glowing water was fantastic! We loved it so much, we definitely will do it again soon!
We had a GREAT tour with Noah! He was so knowledgeable about the area and the bio. Even though the moon didn't help with a really clear view of the bio, we did see some as we headed further along the Indian River. The comb jellyfish were fascinating.
The whole trip was amazing so beautiful and Chris our tour guide was great! Most definitely a memorable trip!
My 2 teenagers and I did the 8:30pm Comb Jelly tour with Micheal. We had such a nice and educated evening! We caught a ton of jellies and were able to see them in a jar after scooping them up in our nets. My kids loved it so much and the clear bottom LED kayaks were super cool. Micheal was so friendly and fun we will definitely be back in the summer!!
Crazy and fantastic experience. Calm and peaceful in the dark. Tom was our great guide. He was funny, absolutely friendly and had a lot of informations for us. We were only three persons and Tom, so it was really personal. The other woman in our group could catch a lot of Comb Jellys, so interesting animals. We have heard a dolphin around us. 2 hours were a perfect experience and I think Tom will not forget us (he knows what I mean😊).
It was absolutely wonderful! Tom was fantastic! It was just my son and I, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night. A beautiful sunset, then a clear, starry sky with a full moon and more comb jellies than you could imagine! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! (If you are able to request a guide, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TOM!)
You can’t go wrong booking this tour! Not only was an awesome experience the company has an amazing commitment to helping less fortunate through their mission. Our family of 4 included a 10yr old & 16 yr old. We had a great experience with Tom as our guide. My daughter was very apprehensive about going out at night but after seeing the set-up and meeting Tom, she was at ease. We selected the 9:00pm tour and although it wasn’t the ideal conditions due to rain days before and the moonlight, we still had an amazing time and we’re able to see plenty of comb jellyfish and even some dinoflagellates! We will definitely be back at the height of the dinoflagellates season next summer!
Chris was awesome a very knowledgeable young gentleman, he really knows his stuff about the wildlife. The tour was great overall lots of fun made some great jokes, Amazing unforgettable experience.
Fun experience! Tom our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable! We didn’t see as much wildlife and fish as we had hoped but it was a beautiful evening and the LED boats were neat! Our teenage sons loved it!
This was such an awesome experience. The instructor was also very knowledgeable and informative. I really enjoyed this. I will plan to do this again and my next trip. Highly recommended.
Mike was very welcoming and offered dry bags and bug spray ( really important). Then clear plan and explained everything and knew area real well. Then was able to plan to locate bioluminescent algae. Tough at first but very successful towards middle end of tour. Very surreal. Anyway , 8:30 pm start, dusk was better for us, and worked real well with overcast skies. Even fish in water left luminous trails. Camera needs to be real good in low light for any pics.
Another great trip! We take our summer guests here to see the bioluminescence and its always so neat. Kayaking is a go to event near Cocoa, love it.
2 friends and I did this tour. They had a tandem and I had a solo paddleboard kayak. Picked a great night with much breeze. We originally booked a different location, but owners changed so that we had a better chance of seeing the bioillumiscent wildlife. Definitely would recommend.
This was an awesome experience to see everything you put in the water light up. It was cool to be able to hold the jellyfish and make them glow too. It was an amazing experience and our guide Dustin was awesome. Definitely one of the best kayaking experiences I've ever had.
Honestly I can't say enough good things about our experience with Cocoa Kayaking. We did the Bioluminescent LED NightLife Tour and it was everything we hoped for and more. Our guide Dustin was AMAZING. Very knowledgeable about kayaking, the area, the environment, and the wildlife that we encountered throughout the night. We were already excited, but his enthusiasm carried ours even higher. Even though the season was close to ending we still saw bioluminescent comb jellies, and the lights under the kayaks revealed sting rays, Black Drum, and so many other small fish as we paddled. We even saw a dolphin! Genuinely we will be doing this again. Thank you so much to Cocoa Kayaking for making a truly memorable experience!
We had a great time during our night kayak with Dustin. He was funny, good energy and taught me a lot about some marine life that I didn’t know and can now pass on. I will definitely recommend him to other people/friends who want to go to cocoa beach.
We were with Dustin and he was knowledgeable and very friendly. Had so much fun learning new things and catching comb jellies!
Dustin was awesome!!!!! Very knowledgeable and educational. So much fun! Would recommend to anyone who loves the water!
I had a great time ! Dustin was our guide and he lead us to some great spots . We saw jelly fish and a bunch of sting rays . We kept asking if we were going to see any manatees but he said they’re probably not out in these waters yet because of the weather . Buuuut we went down by the mangroves and there was a giant manatee that got spooked , he almost flipped our boat ! It was so much fun .
Dustin have us a good experience! Definitely knowledgeable in his fields and would book again great experience
Dustin was such a great instructor!! Very informative and we all had such a blast. Loved the energy and enthusiasm. 10/10 recommend. Especially after waking up a manatee lol. Thank you!!
Dustin was very fun and educational on the types of species of wild life out in the waters. Recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing night
Fabulous tour, I highly recommend it. So cool to see the water in the dark with the glass bottom kayak.
Great experience. Dustin was a great tour guide. Had us all equipped and ready quickly and very friendly. Had dry bags and bug spray for us to use. Weather was warm and calm so kayaking was easy and comfortable- couldn’t have been better. Going at night with the LEDs was cool. Couldn’t really see well through the glass bottom but the LEDs enabled us to see lots once we adjusted. We had fun trying out the different colors (especially super party mode). Dustin pointed out snook, mullet (one jumped in the boat), stingrays, needlefish, conch, pompano and several comb jellies that were quite colorful to handle (especially the youngster who ate one!). we had a lot of fun, felt very safe, it was really an outstanding experience! We had so much fun, We went out again the next day on the mangrove tour. Also great fun (with Troy) tho the tight quarters in the mangroves were challenging to some in our group. Still a great time, lots of fish, turtles and dolphin.
It was a great time. Dustin was knowledgeable and was good with all ages. A must for all visiting! We will do it again.
We had a great time on our kayak tour! Our tour guide, Dustin, was very knowledgeable about the wildlife. He was fun and a great guide! We didn’t get the chance to see any of the comb jelly, they didn’t seem to be out, but it was still a great experience none the less. Definitely recommend.
A peaceful night voyage on a great lagoon. Dustin was very knowledgeable on the wildlife and knew the best spots to find the jellyfish. It was a relaxing and fun kayak trip. It was my moms first time in a kayak and she had no problems, Dustin made it very easy for everyone. Ill be back in summer time for the other bioluminescent algae!
We had an amazing time on our paddle with Dustin, it was incredible to hold glowing comb jellies in our hands under the stars. Thank you so much for this adventure we will never forget, and being such a wonderful company to book with!
Noah our guide was knowledgeable and open to sharing stories making the evening not only personal but left me feeling there are beautiful souls in this world. Thank him for me.
Dustin was an absolutely amazing tour guide! We went on the night tour and it was so calm, so beautiful, and extremely fun way to end my anniversary! Loved this experience will definitely be coming back!
Absolutely amazing experience! Dustin was an extremely personable and knowledgeable guide. And a trooper for braving the colder weather with us. I would 100% recommend this tour to my friends. And I will definitely be back to do another one!
