Crew (John, Maggie, Kaylee) was polite and engaged. We saw at least 16 dolphins and plenty of other sea life.
Captain Madison and her crew of Abby and Maggie were outstanding! Really, they were amazing. The attention to detail was second to none. Seriously, these girls work their tails off and do it with a smile. Their knowledge about coral and marine life was incredible. What else can I say? If you don’t book with these ladies, then you’re missing out. End of story. Would book with them 10/10 times. I was celebrating my 40th birthday with my wife and 4 kids, and they made sure everyone on the boat knew it! They were great with all my children ranging in ages 13 to 5 months. I will remember this forever as a precious memory.
Logan and Kevin were great guides. They went above and beyond to keep every one happy and safe. Would have booked again on this trip but they were booked. Absolutely phenomenal evperience
Amazing experience! The crew was very friendly. We saw a pod of dolphins and there were multiple babies! When we got to our snorkeling spot we had 45 minutes to snorkel and I saw a lot of different fish. I definitely suggest doing this tour!
Our guides were awesome. They took us to see 40 + dolphins and the snorkeling was excellent. Very fun trip!
Nice experience! We saw dolphins and later, during snorkelling, a bunch of fish! I gave 4 out of 5 because I felt like the visibility of the water was not that great (a little murky) and also the waves were pretty strong on the day we went, even though it was sunny. Of course this cannot be controlled by the company but I wasn’t sure if these conditions were temporary or not.
The trip overall was enjoyable; we were able to see dolphins, snorkeling was interesting and sunset beautiful. The reason I rated this experience 3 stars is how uncomfortable captain made us by constantly reminding to leave proper tip at the end…. The trip it self was not chip and gratuity should be optional for excellent service. I would consider tipping but after many reminders did not feel like it
Both Captain and crew were great. Dolphins were spectacular, just wish we could have seen more marine life while snorkling.
Honestly, great. The only reason my experience was four stars is because the location where we were taken didn’t have THAT much underwater variety like I expected. But we saw dolphins, and saw fish and I got scared by some huge tarpon which I thought were sharks at first. But overall the experience if snorkeling with fins and having drinks on board is worth the money.
This experience was fun in that we saw some dolphins on our way back however, they captain changed the destination, and we never made it to the reef and didn’t tell anybody until we showed up in some random sponge garden. They didn’t inform us that we were not gonna get to go to the reef and didn’t give us an option that if we slowed the boat down, we might just have less swim time at the reef or anything. They just made an alternate decision and we saw nothing but some sponges and a couple of fish that you could see almost anywhere. It was very disappointing based on what the reviews and what other people had commented they had been to and seen at the reef. There was no communication about it until we got to the spot they chose, which was not the refer we were supposed to go, and they barely communicated the change to anyone there were many upset passengers.
We thought we were going to a reef but we rode an hour out to our destination just to get there and the captain tells us we couldn’t go to the reef. Which is fine- completely understandable if the weather is bad. BUT , that should have been communicated with us BEFORE we got there! He knew the weather was bad but made no attempt to communicate that. He made one small comment in passing upon arriving at some crappy destination where all we could see was grey/brown sponge . However, we were able to rebook for another day after we returned and called the company .
Great time!! Snorkeling the reef was amazing and the dolphins were great too! Would recommend any age! Staff was very helpful! Miss Laura and her team were great!
Amazing staff, amazing experience. Yes we did see dolphins and lots of them. The staff is very knowledgeable. Snorkeling is great fun too! And the ride back and forth is very fun, entertaining and wholesome
It was a very great experience I am handicap on a scooter and with a service dog they were grateful to help me onto the boat to captain fell in love with the service dog they were very very courteous kind and respectful One of the best small boat trips that I have been on!!
Nice Experience!!! We are a Family, had an amazing time during this trip. The Crew and Captain made everything smoothly for us, they are very professional. John, Kathy and Alicia. Big Thank you! Don't miss the Sunset Experience
At first I was worried my kids would be bored. As soon as we saw the dolphins they loved it. They were scared to get in the water. Once we got in water they had a blast.
My wife and I booked a 1/2 day private snorkeling charter. Our captain was Cole out of Cow Key Marina and he was awesome! He made the experience very enjoyable and we stopped at about four different reefs to dive off and snorkel. My wife’s biggest wish list request was to see a sea turtle and Cole was able to make that happen! Cole was very personable and made us feel like we were at sea with a friend. We highly recommend this Marina an encourage you to ask for Cole!!
Amazing experience, captain Logan and crew Nic and Claire were fantastic, they were knowledgeable and extremely helpful as well as friendly with the kids!
Best experience ever!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!
Wonderful experience great customer service loved everything about this
Great crew! John, Kathy, & Terry were all superb. Knowledgeable, entertaining & informative. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We booked the snorkeling, dolphins, and sunset combo tour, and it was a 100% disappointment. The weather conditions were clearly not suitable, but instead of canceling or rescheduling, the tour went ahead anyway. The snorkeling stop was especially underwhelming. Instead of taking us to coral reefs as advertised, we were brought to a mediocre spot with rough, wavy water where visibility was poor. Most people were back on the boat within 15 minutes because there was simply nothing to see. The “open bar” was also disappointing, with several drinks running out very quickly. As for the sunset portion, it felt like an afterthought—we were basically catching a glimpse of it while heading back, rather than enjoying a proper sunset experience. Overall, this felt like a waste of money and did not live up to expectations. I would not recommend this tour, especially if weather conditions are questionable.
Our Captain and crew did a fantastic job taking care of everyone! The weather had been difficult all week with the wind but they found us a reef that was very easy and nice to use. On the way back in we found a mother dolphin and her calf that were just all too happy to say “hi” and even jumped for us. It’s a wonderful experience and I recommend this excursion for everyone
Stunning! We saw dolphins, an unforgettable sunset and we did snorkeling… The crew was incredible friendly!
The slow ride out to location was enjoyable. It was a very windy day, so not the best snorkeling conditions. Earlier trips that morning were canceled. Captain was able to find dolphins, which was nice. Quicker ride going back - rougher and everyone bouncing around & getting soaked (lol). Canned soda or mimosa for drinks. Overall average experience.
Was left at the dock after checking in on time with a whole other family captain of the boat looked me in face and continued to leave us
Our family had a blast on this cruise! It was just the right amount of time and right activities (with a teen and a young one) - snorkeling, dolphin watching, and sunset all in one. The crew was kind and knowledgeable, and made it an excellent experience. Highly recommend!
Amazing trip. Weather was up and down. But the guides were excellent. Tour was great as well.
Damn fine afternoon! 😁 Kevin and Abby were great!
amazing experience, abby was an awesome guide and bartender!!
Kevin and Abby were super nice. food was good, drinks were good. 10/10
Great experience! Captain and crew were great!
Madison, Canon and Caroline made for an amazing adventure. They kept us all well fed and hydrated. We loved seeing the dolphins and assorted sea life
Yes it was amazing very recommend
It was a wonderful experience of dolphin watching and snorkeling and sunset watching. The whole team, both in the office and on the boat were absolutely amazing!
We saw a whole pod of dolphins and stopped fwith them or about 20mins which was amazing! The snorkelling spot had poor visibility on the day so we went to another spot but didn't see anything unfortunately.
We did the dolphin and snorkel cruise on 1/26. Dante and his crew did a great job. We got to see several dolphins which was great and go snorkeling to a reef but with very little coral or fish to see but enjoyed it regardless. The issue I had and brought to their attention is when you book online they automatically charge for cancellation insurance. Normally it is something you would add to your trip if needed not having to deduct it, so we felt they are a bit misleading. I asked the girl at check-in and she could really care less and said it's just $11.00 however that's not the point.
We had a fabulous time the crew were great and in particular Sean!! We can recommend the Sunset team !! All our needs were catered for and the boat was well maintained and clean.
Pleasant but underwhelming: when the skipper makes the announcement that dolphins are wild and we're not guaranteed to see them, well, doesn't that defeat the idea of an excursion called "dolphin experience"? We were there in December. I specifically asked about Sand Point (or beach) snorkeling as I heard this was a great place to snorkel. I was assured we would go there or someplace comparable. So my family and some friends bought the excursion. They made us yell and cheer for the distant dolphins we saw, which felt forced; and we snorkelled at a place full of sponges and sand. A "tub" was in the water, marked with a flag, and it may well have had some lobster in it. Looked like someone dumped a truck cap in the water there. A small, solitary black and yellow fish swam guard duty around the tub and was the most colorful thing we saw. I wish they would have given us the option of not going instead of taking us out to see "not much". That would have been disappointing but we could have easily gone para sailing instead or rented a golf cart to explore Key West. For us it was underwhelming. Three stars because we were at least on a boat in the Florida keys in the winter. Manage your expectations on this one.
We sailed on the Loriwith Captain John and crew of Cathy and Noah. The crew was super attentive. Very informative Siri g the dolphins visit and super interactive at the sandbar/snorkel. Shout out to this team for making a Great day !!! I highly recommend this excursion as well as checking out Sunset Watersports at the beaches for all they have to offer in Key West!!!!
My son and I had an amazing time. It was our first time snorkeling. We saw a lot of beautiful fish, a turtle, and several pods of dolphins who were quite playful. The captain and first mate Noah, were very informative on instructions so we all managed to stay safe and have fun. Noah kept us hydrated, libated, safe and smiling as he peppered us with facts about dolphins. We learned Sunset Watersports is a small family owned business. Everyone from booking to check-in to our wonderful captain and first mate gave top tier customer service, which is a rarity these days. The vessel was clean and in good repair. The snorkeling gear was likewise clean and in good repair. I love supporting small businesses and especially those that earn it. When we return to the keys, sunset has our business!
Great crew and fun little trip. We had bad luck with the dolphins. We only saw them for a brief moment before heading back. Not the crews fault the capt. tried very hard to find them. The boat was nice and equipment very well maintained. Best part was the crew. They were very fun and professional. Only reason for loss of star was the snorkel destination. It might have been because of the weather, but the location for the snorkel experience was pretty blah. Muddy bottom with very few fish. No reef and quite boring. I felt like a was snorkeling at a muddy lake. I did get to see a couple lobsters though. We did a snorkel trip out of Islamorada and it was fantastic. I would use Sunset for anything else, just not the snorkel experience.
Outstanding sandbar and dolphin trip 11-4pm. Capt Madison Caroline and Kathy made the trip a memory of a lifetime. If you’re going to Key West look up Sunset Watersports. We also did their Sunset Dinner Cruise and give it 5 stars.
Very disappointed with the experience. No dolphins were seen and the captain only told the group at the end. The coral reefs are very plain and totally different from the pictures shown at the company’s website. I only saw couple of very plain fish. The water is not clear at all. The trip to the snorkeling site was chilly. The website doesn’t provide the tip to bring extra clothes for the trip. I have to think that all they care is to sell as many as possible tickets and don’t care customers experience at all. Otherwise they can at least honestly warn potential guests not ideal snorkeling conditions and possibly not seeing any dolphins. Totally wasted a precious vacation day.
Noah did a great job teaching us about dolphins and snorkeling. Saw a couple fish in snorkeling. We saw a couple dolphins and got free alcohol too. Would have been nice to have a microphone as it was a little hard to hear the snorkeling tips and didn’t realize we shouldn’t use fins as there was a fins box open.
We had an amazing time! We saw dolphins, listened to great music, and went snorkeling. Thanks to Noah and Owen, our family had such a fun and memorable experience. They were awesome and made the trip even better. Thank you guys!!
Kevin and Atticus were the best hosts. We were lucky and saw multiple pods of dolphins. Just being on the boat in good company was worth it. Highly recommend booking an adventure with them.
Saw multiple dolphins & snorkeling was awesome! Water was chilly at first but you get used to it fast. Got to see schools of fish & dolphins swam just 30 feet away from where we were! The captains were very helpful & chill - highly recommend!
Owen and Noah took us to see dolphins, they knew where to look. They told us about their habitat, why the dolphins liked the shallow water we were in, we just sat quietly and observed. We went to the coral reef and sponge gardens next, jumped into the rather cool water after our safety briefing. We saw lots of sponges and a few little fish. Our crew was so friendly. Thanks!
