We took the family for round 2 of fishing with captain Austin. My kids enjoy fishing with Austin so much, they keep asking me when we’re going fishing with Austin again. I’m like soon guys, very soon we will. He knows the inshore of the St. John’s river like no other. He knows where to find fish and his rigs are easy to use. You never have lift a finger with this charter, he does everything for you. All you gotta do is reel em in! Whether you want to fish for fun, catch em and throw em back, or you’re fishing for dinner, Austin can do it all.

Austin was an excellent charter captain! He really knew what he was doing when it came to navigating the water, and I felt completely comfortable and in good hands the entire time. He was professional, super polite, and made the whole experience enjoyable. I also really appreciated the cold waters that day was literally terribly hot! Went on a morning trip with my son during Spring Break. You get a lot of time to fish and get to target different species. We caught several trout and whiting. Had a good time nice boat, good music, high quality bait highly recommend!

Fished with Capt. Austin in Sept. 2025 out of Jacksonville. Not Good. He told me the bite was good. and we would catch fish. Only caught one little 8 inch fish. I fished hard the whole time. FYI - I fish with a guide once a month all over America, Canada, Alaska and Hawiai. Buyer beware, just an expensive boat ride. Would not recommend. I waited a month to submitt this review so I had a fresh approach and time to reflect fairly. From Dallas TX area.

My wife and I joined Austin for a day of fishing in October. The near shore fishing was dicey with high winds, so Austin pivoted to fish the St Johns. After a short run we were on structure and numerous fish inc. a big reds and nice trout! Austin knows the area waters, where to fish when, and he's generally a pleasant, service minded Capt. who wants his guests to succeed. We'll be back..

Captain Austin was terrific. We took four people on our onshore fishing trip including my two kids. He was very patient with them teaching them techniques and kept our lines in the water. He put us on the fish. We had a blast. I highly recommend Captain Austin and Tannic Water Adventures.

Highlight of the trip. Couldn't recommend more. Coming from the Midwest and having not fished since I was a kid with my dad I was a little anxious about how well this would go. Happy to report that Captain Austin turned out to be coolest, most patient guide. He knew all the best spots and I caught several trout and my first red fish. It was nice having the fish cleaned afterwards. The area is beautiful and just look at that sunset. Looking forward to fishing with Tannic Waters the next time I'm in the area.

Purchased the half day fishing trip as a birthday gift for my father. Captain Austin was very informative throughout the entire process. He was flexible and understanding as far as scheduling went. He was quick at responding. Pricing was the best price I could find. I personally did not have the luxury of going on the trip but I was informed from my dad that this was the best fishing trip he had gone on. Captain Austin is very friendly and thorough. We booked this trip for my sons 20th birthday. After our trip yesterday it was a unanimous vote that we need to go out with Captain Austin yearly. We had so much fun and Austin was great about putting us on the fish. He KNOWS that river well. We got to see manatees, dolphins, a bird argument, and a bald eagle! We have at least 2 nights dinner if not 3 from the amount of fish we brought home. Austin braved hoardes of mosquitos and these weird birds that sounded like ducks but looked like seagulls to filet our catches for us. I caught the biggest fish I've ever caught (a red too big to keep) and my son got a big one too! If you're looking for a fun filled day of yanking lips and landing lunkers Captain Austin is your man. A+++ experience and we can't wait to do it again!

Nothing is better than getting out on the water on a beautiful morning with a guide that knows the water you are fishing. He talked me through landing a pretty large Redfish on 10 lbs mono after the fish bent the hook. Truly a great memory for me and my boys.

My family and I had great time catching fish. It was our first time fishing. Captain Austin showed the kids how to reel in the fish. The kids were so happy to get to eat the fish after the trip. Also loved seeing all the dolphins playing in the ocean!!
