Half Day Snorkel Trip On Reefs In The Florida Keys

Me and my partner went with pirate cove for her bday and while the experience wasn’t as expected, the crew was absolutely amazing and extremely friendly! Our trip consisted of 2 divers and 4 snorkelers including ourselves. They let us know that we weren’t going to be able to see Christ the redeemer based on weather conditions, and I appreciate them letting us know beforehand! The trip on the boat was smooth at first until we got to the rough waves but Nate managed to get us through them! Once we docked the reefs were great but the waves were still pretty rough leading to most of us getting seasick. Besides that the crew made the trip great and I would come back again! Especially with seasickness medicine.

Katie and Gabby were very helpful, focused on safety, and friendly. Would definitely book with them again. Got to see Christ of the abyss and lots of sea creatures!

The team at Pirates Cove Watersports is great! Our captain John and first mate Nate made everyone feel welcome and safe. We got to see some amazing coral reefs with great visibility. The team back at the shop pay the checking process easy. The shop is well as stocked with any gear and snacks you need for the trip.

The snorkel was amazing. The ocean life did not disappoint. The crew was hilarious and perfectly accommodating. So glad we went!

The crew was great..fun and knowledgeable. We really loved the first dive site. We saw a beautiful variety of fish, rays and a nurse shark. We weren't as impressed with the second site but it was pretty choppy on the water that day. We would definitely do it again!!

You visit 2 locations for this adventure. You get to visit one of the 3 Christ statues under the water which is really incredible and makes it worth it for that alone! We had a great time! Thank you!

Great deal for a 3.5 hour tour. Captain Katie and First Mate Nate for fun and knowledgeable. It was pretty choppy this day, so I unfortunately got seasick. They did what they could to help me. There is reef-safe sunscreen and water provided.

We snorkeled with this company two times during our trip and loved it both times. Our first trip was with Captain Katy and guide Gabi. We went to the Christ statue and horseshoe reef. The second time we went with Captain Brad and guide Scuba Joe. We went to the rocks reef (I think) and the Christ statue. Both days were incredible, and I would highly recommend this company. I felt they all love their “jobs” and they enjoy sharing their love of the Keys and the ocean with you. I also felt very safe at all times.

We had a great time snorkeling with Captains Brad and Joe of Pirate Cove Watersports. Saw tons of different kinds of fish and underwater statue of Jesus was amazing! Brad and Joe were high energy fun and encouraged safety. Not quite sure about the bad jokes!

Captain Brad and Scuba Joe were phenomenal. We had a tour in the morning booking and it was great. We were taken to Christ of the deep and to the captain’s choice of second stop which was like swimming through an aquarium. The guides were very knowledgeable of the area and the best places to go and see lots of marine life. The tour even entertained our 13 year old which is hard to do. Thank you to the captain and crew for making this a memorable trip to the keys!

The captain bred and Joe is very responsive and helpful. I did see a lot of fish and the reefs under the sea there.

What a great trip! We saw so many fish, turtles, rays, and lots of barracuda! Captain Brad and Joe were amazing! We felt safe, and they were a wealth of information about all things ocean and marine life! Highly recommend 10/10!

Captain Brad & Scooby Joe were AMAZING with our group of middle school girls and high school girls. They told us so much about the area along into about local Marine life and and even if few riddles along the way. We will definitely be back!

Captain Brad and Scuba Joe were hilarious!! They made this trip even better!!! We come to the keys every year! We will definitely book with them again!! They knew the best spots to go! The 1st spot we went to unfortunately the current was real strong so no one could really get snorkeling. But they made up for it by taking us to another spot to end the trip! Which was great!!

Why not Pennekamp??? Because : this is the best snorkel adventure in the keys! Details below. Firstly, make sure you book a trip with Captain Brad and Scuba Joe. They promise to take you to the statue of Christ on every trip - along with other great reefs such as Horseshoe, Grecian rocks and Banana reef. For years we’ve only done the Pennekamp boat. Not only will Pennekamp not guarantee a visit to “Christ of the Deep”, but most of the time they won’t even tell you where they’re headed to until we’re nearly underway. Our trip with Pirate’s Cove was less crowded, a bit longer and wayyy more fun - even the journey to get to the reefs! Joe is completely hilarious and Brad has a lot of history he shares about the area and the reefs. It’s great for families with younger kids, couples who are either young or older - and we even had a solo snorkeler who travels this boat regularly. Hubby and I actually booked another trip with Brad and Joe when we got back to shore just to do it all over again a day later. Thanks for the memories of a lifetime. See you next summer, Guys!

Read book this trip on short , notice about an hour and a half before departure! It was my 8-year-old daughter's first time snorkeling.The guides were so patient and inexplicable , with her went out of their way to make her feel comfortable. Captain katie and scuba joe were great with all the people and kids on the boat. I definitely look forward to going back again

We had a fantastic time snorkeling with Pirates Cove Watersports in Key Largo! Captain Caiti and Nate were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip exceptional and enjoyable. They got jokes and they’re GREAT! The water was beautiful, and we saw so many fish, dolphins, and even some rays! 🐠🐬 The scenery was incredible, and it was such a fun way to experience the Florida Keys and the beautiful turquoise water. If you’re in Key Largo, I definitely recommend Pirates Cove Watersports. We’d do it again in a heartbeat! 🌊☀️

This snorkeling tour was so fun! Honestly Captain Brad and Scuba Joe MADE the trip. They were so light hearted and hilarious while also making us feel very safe on their boat. The reefs and wild life were so beautiful. We saw jelly fish, barracudas, sting rays, and other colorful fish. Couldn’t recommend this trip enough!

We had a wonderful trip and an amazing experience with our captain, John, and our instructor, Gabrielle. They were both extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We had perfect weather conditions, saw lots of fish, a beautiful sea turtle, and even the famous "Christ of the Abyss" statue. Absolutely worth the money – we highly recommend this experience!

This Half Day Snorkel excursion off the coast of Key Largo was an exceptional experience. While the tour operators cannot guarantee which specific reefs they will be sailing to due to ever-changing weather patterns (such as strong winds, etc.), they are able to ensure that everyone will have a memorable time. My girlfriend and I encountered strong winds on our trip, which was explained to us with ample time prior to boarding. This meant that only strong swimmers were advised because of the rougher waters. All of the staff were extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. Fortunately, we were able to snorkel at Dry Rocks reef (which is where the popular Christ of the Abyss statue is located), and along with spotting at least "four and a half fish" (including a nursing shark), we thoroughly enjoyed this excursion.

It was my first experience of snorkelling on the reef. We initially booked this excursion for Friday however we were informed about the rough weather conditions and rebooked for Tuesday. We were snorkelling with our 8 years old son and the waves 3-4 feet’s were ok for us (he is a good swimmer). The spots chosen by the crew were quite interesting (especially the first one), we saw a wonderful sea life. The crew was friendly and professional. Lenght of visit was perfect, it lasted 4 hours but we haven’t seen the time flying .

Two good sites. In February, they didn't cancel even though it was rocky out there, which I appreciate. But I should have taken some sea sickness pills.

It was great, well worth the money

This experience was fantastic. Captain Katie and Nate the Mate, were well organized, fun and took us to two locations with a wide variety of sea life. Katie and Nate were great fun and Katie was especially kind when 2 in our party got sea sick.

The captain was very helpful and taught my son how to use the snorkle equipment. It was his first time and he was able to do it after she talked with him.
