Gulf Islands Adventures - 2 Hour Craigcat Tour Ami

We had a great trip with Rob. The meet up was easy and accessible. He went over safety precautions, driving instructions, and then we were off. We headed out to Greer Island, found a huge shell, and added it to the collection of the other shells. We were lucky enough to see manatees as they swam around our Craigcats. Rob got a lot of pictures of us, which he forwarded by the next day. It was a really fun experience and we would definitely do again.

My husband had a fabulous time. Rob was very communicative, which was great bc of the looming weather. We loved going to the island and enjoyed getting the pictures! Great time!

My friend and I booked a 2hr Craigcat tour (ended up being a private tour) and it was AMAZING!!! We saw 20 manatees, and at least nine dolphins! We highly recommend booking a tour!

Didn't know what to expect up front from a 2hr Craigcat tour? Pictures on line looked great, reviews were all great and looked like a lot of fun. Our experience was even better than we could have imagined. It ended up being just my wife and I along with the owner Rob who met us at the dock. We had such a great time and saw so many dolphins that were close enough we could almost touch them. Rob took us to a beautiful beach in Long Boat Key that looked like it was somewhere in the Caribbean with crystal clear, blue water. And after heading back after the two hours of fun and sun we even saw a Manatee. Can say enough how much fun we had and how great and knowledgeable Rob was. Highly recommend to anyone looking to have a great time on some tiny, little boats that are such a blast to speed and slide across the water.

My husband & I had an absolutely amazing experience on our CraigCat tour! From start to finish, everything was fantastic. Rob was wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, & made the entire experience so much fun. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery & being out on the water. We even saw a manatee & a playful dolphin. This was absolutely brilliant fun and definitely a highlight of our road trip. I would say go expecting to get wet - this might be obvious but it doesn’t say anything about that when booking so dress accordingly! Rob was a great tour guide and went above and beyond. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Easy to park on the side of the road directly next to the boats. Rob the owner was there to meet us along with another couple. Rob was a very approachable and knowledgeable guy regarding the safety and control procedures.The boats are super easy and a great deal of fun to drive gently skimming the water until Rob leading opened up the speed. We headed a ways out the bay stopped to on the sand for Rob to take some great pics and for us to take a look around and go for a cooling swim. We managed to see some manatees swim by us on our return to the pickup point along with some dolphins. All in all it’s a fun and relaxing two hours well worth the money and definitely look at returning on our next visit Thanks Rob

This was an amazing day on the water with Rob, there was 7 of us in our group and Rob was great at making the odd number work and letting our son ride along with him! We got to see several dolphins and stopped by the sandbar, which the kids loved looking at all the crabs. Would highly recommend this tour if visiting the area, we had a great time and would definitely do it again.

I have always been interested in the little boats and seeing how they handle along with the exploration you can do with them being so small. Ton really took us on a fun trip he knew exactly where to go to see everything we were looking for. This is an awesome company. Boats were very well kept.

An adventure that met all expectations. My husband and I appreciated the very experienced tour guide who put me at ease with his humor and knowledge of the waters and wildlife. The highlight was seeing the dolphins up close, and Beer Can Island with its array of sea shells. Highly recommend.

Was our 3rd time booking with him and will be doing it again on our next trip to AMI! We rented two boats this time, our boys wanted to join this time and they loved it! He is a TOP NOTCH guide and just a great overall person who takes customer service to the next level! I seriously can’t think of one negative with any of our trips with him. If you love seeing dolphins like we do, you won’t be disappointed with this trip. Throw in some manatees, fish, birds, and anything else you can think of and there is a chance you can see it. Boats are easy to operate and extremely safe! Only way you could fall out of them is if you jumped out! Took our group to Beer Can Island and got some great pics and got to walk around it a bit. Around a 2 hour deal so not too long and not too short. A bonus to the trip, he takes pics of you throughout the experience and sends them to you…like I said before, customer service and experience is everything that is great about this deal! 👍

AMAZING!!!! They were great with reaching out the previous day to confirm and move times because of weather. Rob really really want you to have a great time. The boats were fun and safe. We saw a small dolphin pod in the shallow waters and one more on the way back in. The stop on the island is a fantastic photo op. He shot lots of pics of the entire family. Could not be any nicer of a guy. You need to BOOK NOW!!!

Rob was amazing! He was warm and friendly, providing safety tips, navigating instructions, and information about the area. This was an incredibly fun experience. We have done many different water sports but nothing that quite resembles being at the water level and zipping around on the CraigCat. Rob was an extremely cool and proficient owner/operator. We would do this again and recommend to anyone looking for a fun new experience.

Very unique experience! Our family of six had fun on this tour. Guide and owner of this family business gives clear instructions on driving the boats. We felt safe and confident using them. Seeing the mother and baby dolphins was a highlight. You can get very close to them in these boats. Book this tour!

this was great! my mom and i messaged the phone number listed on the website and they were able to accommodate us perfectly. we had so much fun just being out on the water, but we literally saw 50+ dolphins. i have a three minute video with dolphins consistently poking their fins up every second - it was amazing. our cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. rob was also able to capture pictures of these moments for us which we loved! we even saw a huge ray jump out of the water once we got to the little island. if you don’t book this you are seriously missing out. thanks so much and we will definitely be coming back next time we’re in town!

If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would! We had an amazing time driving our own boats and exploring the beautiful water. Rob made sure we saw both dolphins and manatees, which my daughters were so excited about! One of my favorite parts was hanging out on Beer Can Island, searching for shells and enjoying the crystal-clear water — I found some amazing ones. My husband enjoyed driving the boat and learning all about the islands from Rob. This was easily the highlight of our entire week, and we’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

Amazing! Don’t go to Anna Maria without doing this. It’s so much fun. We were a few feet away from dolphins and manatees. I can’t imagine a more enjoyable way to see them

If I could give this tour more than 5 stars, I would. Everything from the tour guides preparation & his fun personality to the quality of the craigcat boats & the stops along the way were amazing and off the charts. We arrived early, and he was ready. So we left early. First stop happened to be in the bay where we saw soooo many dolphins & their babies playing, jumping, and feeding all around us! A few almost jumped onto the boat! That's how close they swam up to us! Next we stopped at a beautiful island peninsula on Pine Key where there were awesome spots for photos! Beautiful swimming area with crystal clear water. Felt like we were in the Bahamas. There also happened to be a few manatees in those waters so we got to enjoy watching them surface for breath a few times. The boats were really easy to maneuver, super stable, and less work/stress on your thighs like jet ski's can be. They are perfect for people for like a bit of lazy excitement, as they do get up in speed if you want them to. All-in-all this tour was a 10/5 HANDS DOWN! Do this tour if you want something different than the usual jet ski or parasailing experience. You won't regret it. BONUS: The tour guide even takes pics for you during the trip so you can stay present and in the moment but also have proof of the amazing day.

My family and I did a catboat tour with Rob yesterday. We had never done anything like that before and it was an experience like no other. Rob explained everything beforehand and made sure we were comfortable driving before we started the tour. Rob took a ton of great pictures of all of us. We were fortunate enough to see a few manatees and we came across a ton of dolphins. Rob took us to Beer Can island which was beautiful in itself. Rob made sure everything on the tour went smoothly, was able to show us some great spots and took awesome pics of the 4 of us. I cant say enough good things about Rob and this tour, if you wanna do something incredible and fun, then absolutely go on this catboat tour with Rob, it will be one of the best experiences you'll have here in AMI!

We had never even heard of a two seater boat called a CraigCat before this, but it ended up being the highlight of our trip. As a couple in our 20s, we actually preferred it over a jet ski. It was so fun, comfortable, and unique, and I can see how it would be perfect for all ages. Rob at Gulf Island Adventures was amazing and truly treats you like family out on the water, best guide ever! We got to spend time on Beer Can Island seeing incredible local shell art, and we had dolphins and manatees swimming right alongside our boat which was unforgettable. The pictures are beautiful but do not do it justice, you really have to experience it for yourself. We are already planning our next trip back to do this again with Rob. If you are visiting the area, definitely book this experience! As a born and raised Miami local, this was the prettiest part of Florida I’ve ever been to.

Great outing! This adventure was a first for us and it did not disappoint! From the safety lesson to giving us points of interest after the ride, Rob was the best guide. He led us up and close to the dolphins and the most beautiful beach. Highly recommend this for anyone that wants to see Anna Marie Island from a different perspective.

Such a fun tour. I went with my 14yo son. It ended up just being the two of us with Rob, who was a fantastic guide. We really just wanted to go out on the boats and drive around to have a fun adventure. We got to see dolphins up close multiple times on the trip and one time there were about 20. It was amazing. They were so playful and fun to watch. Had a great trip over to beer can island, which had ridiculously clear blue water. And we saw a baby manatee on the way back. It was a 10/10 day. We would do this again!

My husband and I had the best time experiencing a CraigCat to Beercan Island. We lucked out and saw dolphins which made it even more exciting! I highly recommend it.

The best 2 hours of our whole trip!! Driving the boats was so exciting. Grandpa and the nieces both loved it. We saw dolphins in the bay that just hung around our boats for what seemed like forever. It was great! Found shells and animals on the sand bar while everyone played in the water. Honestly, it was just great fun, on the water, doing something that we don't usually do!

What a great way to spend a few hours of fun on the water in AMI. This is my second trip out with Rob and his CraigCats!! First time October 2023 with daughter and again August 2025 a family of 5. We had such a blast!!!. Rob is an excellent tour guide, friendly and personable! He works hard to keep the experience fun, safe and entertaining. His machinery is well kept, clean and well as close as you can get to being in the water w/ being in the water!!! I think those AMI ocean animals love Rob and certainly they know how much he respects them! If you are looking for a unique and fun experience on the water- Call Rob-you wont be disappointed! My 3 21 year olds absolutely loved their Birthday CraigCat experience with Rob! Oh and the pictures! Priceless! Thanks again to Rob and his wife! Till next time!!!

We had such an amazing time on this Gulf Island Adventures boat tour and our tour guide Rob. From start to finish, it was an absolute blast. Rob was so knowledgeable and outgoing. He made the whole experience safe, fun and exciting. We got to explore the gorgeous Greer Island. This is a must see. Our guide even captured so many great photos for us along the way and then emails them directly to you. The highlight was cruising around the bay and spotting dolphins up close—it was magical. We must have seen about 20 dolphins. I have never been this close to a dolphin on a tour before. Such a memorable family experience and one I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the Anna Maria area. It is an absolute must do! You get to drive your own Craig Cat boat. A wildly fun and unforgettable experience!

This is the second time that our family has done a trip with Gulf Island Adventures. They were great about adjusting the schedule due to some rough weather and when we finally got out, it was a great trip! We had a fantastic time zipping around chasing dolphins and had a great side stop to Beer Can Island for some shells. We will 100% be back on our next trip to AMI.

What an amazing experience! This was our first time in the Sarasota area after the hurricanes last year. We are so glad Gulf Island Adventures is open and we decided to give it a try. It is absolutely worth it, this was a fun adventure. Great for couples and families/ friends. The views were amazing, and getting to see the dolphins up close. The customer service was also outstanding with communication and making sure we enjoyed our time.
