Definitely a fun experience. never kayaked before, but had alot of fun learning. recommend sandals or water shoes tho. guide Jon, was cool/good guy.
Isaac was amazing and very knowledgeable! We had such fun it was so amazing to see the sharks, fishes and other marine life ynder the kayaks. The Man Grove tunnels were incredible. Pulling yourself through the Tunnels by the Man Grove doing limbo moves throughout but it was fun! The water was calm, weather perfect and plenty of stars. It was gorgeous. Brian was an employee in traing but he was also very knowledgeable. Definitely recommended this experience if you are adventurous and like to kayak.
Fun experience kayaking at night! Everyone should try at least once. We saw lots of fish and at least a couple of sharks. Our guide was very helpful explaining our surroundings and the wildlife and took us through some great locations like the mangrove tunnel. All in all a good time.
Recommend! Very fun and easy paddling
Ask for Issac and be adventurous. He was super friendly and patient. Made for an excellent time. Book yours today
Was very excited for this after seeing the advertisement. Boats were not clear but was able to see bottom of mine boat and better from the others around and their lights. Tour guide (Issacs, maybe) was very patient and helpful. It was a very unique experience and would definitely do again. Saw nerf sharks and a lot of fish and going thru the “tunnel” under was trees was challenging but still worth it.
It was dark when we arrived… No lights showing we were in the right spot. The tour guide appeared to be high. He didn’t have us sign anything. Turns out he didn’t even check us in for the excursion. Five minutes later he asked if we turned in our paperwork and we had to remind him that he didn’t give us any. He claimed the printer didn’t work. We cut the tour short because of safety concerns. When we got back, he asked if we gave the people at the front any of our personal belongings to hold. There were no people to give anything to when we arrived. This was the worst possible excursion I’ve ever been on and I want my money back. We called and reported this information to the tour operator and gave the tour guide name: We asked for a refund and haven’t heard back. As it turns out the guy never even physically checked us in and they have us listed as no-shows. We were there and we got the experience. Would not recommend.
Our guide was great, we had great weather and the water was super clear! Great adventure! Would definitely recommend!
The actual experience is great. Making the original reservation with Viator was super easy but when the company cancelled due to weather (no complaints- grateful for safety) rebooking directly with the company was not smooth nor easy. Employee used a speaker which made it difficult to hear(understand her) and really did not know what was happening. She instructed me to call back every time instead of just getting the answer. Also was told by guide that we would be re booked automatically which was not true. Company just automatically cancelled with no attempt on their part to try to recoup.
Isaac was great and tour was very fun. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a fun nighttime adventure.
Don't like leaving small companies bad reviews, but if it's a nighttime kayak tour, you need 2 things. You need a clear kayak and lights to see into the water. Had the kayak, but batteries that didn't work for the lights. Our tour guide Gianni was great, changed 6 batteries in our kayak, but none worked. He even took out the battery of his own kayak, so now no lighted boat guide to follow. At times was scary, not being able to see a guide boat or where we were going. In some of mangroves the currents got very strong, and we got slammed into sharp tree branches. Got a bad gash on my arm, that is still affecting my vacation. If a company's is offering nighttime clear kayak tours, have batteries that work, or dont offer your tour. They did refund our money but left bleeding and disappointed.
This short excursion was a great way to finish the day. The guide was outstanding and did a great job of making it a fun and educational tour, which included navigating through mangrove tunnels. The kayak was safe, easy to navigate, and provided just enough light to look into the water. It was a fun way to do something fun and different.
See Nature, Get a Workout, best of both worlds. Tour Guide was professional and knowledgable! Recomend!!
The night kayak excursion was a great way to see a different side of Key West without having to leave the island. It was great to see marinelife in the bay and kayaking through the mangroves was fun
We had a great time and the guide was awesone!
Awesome experience, started a little late but definitely worth it and got our money’s worth. It was an experience we’ll never forget Isaac made the experience all the better and calmed the nerves with his comedic wit.
If I could write 0 stars, I WOULD! Got stood up by our tour guide. Nobody picks up the phone when you call the number an AI operator responds, pain in the ass to try to talk to a person and when you scan the QR code the business has it “paused”. By the way the business is only that little shack part. Not the upstairs or side of the blue building. Called Trip advisor and had to wait for 45 min on hold for a refund despite the company not answering for 5 times. Even went as far as to wait for the next time block… no one was present. One small highlight is the customer service from Ahmed, he’s great but he is from Trip Advisor. OTHERWISE, horrible experience…
The staff is incredible. They went above and beyond my expectations. There was a little lightning which was supposed to pass, no one else (even other travelers) were not concerned which. I was also alone and felt awkward as everyone else knew each other. I ended up bailing last second and they offered a refund. They didn't have to do that based on their policy. I'll def hit them up when I bring a friend lol.
The tour guide was great. A nice pace for inexperienced kayakers. Our group of 8 had a super good time.
Be aware that the communication is not great. We paid for an Uber to get to the venue from southernmost. We sat outside waiting and finally got a hold of somebody. They informed us that they canceled it due to weather. The weather was beautiful. I sent them a picture of no clouds in the sky and a beautiful moon. They never notified us ahead of time. They could improve the communication and unfortunately I could not experience the excursion because we were leaving the next morning.
John was an excellent guide. He was informative, funny, and made the experience more interesting. We enjoyed the mangroves, learning about the creepy crabs and the jellyfish.
Pros: Guide was excellent and knowledgeable. Made sure everyone knew what to expect. Learned everything you would ever want to know about algae and mangrove trees. Cons: The boats are NOT the clear acrylic crafts in the website photos. They have a fairly small viewing area on the bottom. Don’t expect to see much in the way of aquatic life. Water is dark and murky. Saw one small jellyfish and nurse shark. The path is often very narrow, surrounded by sharp branches. Difficult to navigate in the dark. Avoid if you are claustrophobic. Minimal parking and no clear signage to follow. We were asked to arrive a half hour early. But the guide never showed. The guide we got was great, but we left 35 minutes late. So over a hour to kill in a place with no restroom, just an outhouse . Would probably not do this again on the next trip. But fun to try once as an adventure.
It was a fun time. As mentioned in other reviews, the kayaks are not "100% clear" as stated in the inclusions section and advertised in their photos. It was still enjoyable. I do wish for $95 it was longer than 90 minutes.
Gianni was a great guide, he was very knowledgeable about the different areas we kayaked through. He was on the lookout constantly for things we could possibly see. I went solo but there was a decently size group all together with other people that signed up. I was able to see a crab, a few nurse sharks, a jelly fish, and a massive tarpon. The bottom of the kayak was clear and had a light to help you see. I was able to put my phone down on the bottom of the kayak with a waterproof case and was able to catch one of the nurse sharks swimming under my kayak. Very cool experience, I highly recommend you do it. P.s. wear bug spray so you don’t go eaten alive it is at night and you do yo close to brushes and through mangroves.
Our guide last night was amazing and fun and knowledgeable. We had a great time with him.
We had a great time and learned so much about the history of the Keys and the waterways we traveled through. Going through the mangroves was a really cool experience. We also saw lots of wildlife. Isaac was really patient and calm. He was able to help everyone navigate and have fun from the newest to most experienced kyaker in the group. We had a great time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So much fun. Isaac did a great job. Kayaks had plenty of space, had great adventure through water and mangroves at night. Issac was friendly and entertaining. Saw small wildlife (eg. Jelly fish, small fish), nothing “big” but didn’t diminish trip. Guides can’t guarantee animals, if you need that go to aquarium!
Awesome experience! Woukd absolutely do it again! Saw a baby shark, jelly fish and lobster. Plus learning about the aquatic life was cool. Bring bug spray.
Issac was a great tour guide. Night illumination under the kayaks was really meet. We saw all kinds of fish a few small sharks, crabs and starfish. Issac was great explaining about the history of the area and where to go to look for the different aquatic life.
Isaac was amazing! Because there wasn’t a tour after us, we were able to stay out later. Wonderful experience and would definitely do it again!
Several red flags…. While our guide John was good it didn’t make up for the kayaks completely not being even close to what the advertisement shows. These are green kayaks with scratched up clear floors and only one led light bar on the front of the first seat and one on the opposite side in front of the rear seat. Even when you book a single kayak you’re put into a tandem one. You can’t see anything from the floor bottom you have to lean over the side. I took a screen shot of the advertisement today and it states “clear” on the rental. Pack bug spray and wear it, the mosquitos were terrible. I was also made to fill out a separate credit card sheet where they wrote in that they could charge my card the full amount even though I prepaid on trip advisor, I had to sign it and she took a photo of my credit card and DL, I asked her not to show my DL number but she said she had to. We were not out very long and were told we needed to come in due to lightning off in the distance but as we approached another guide had just put all of his group in the water. I was told we’d be refunded as it was “on me” that we came in early for safety but I’ve yet to see it. Very confusing why another group was being taken out if it wasn’t safe for us to be out.
We would have rated this a 5 if a couple of the Kayaks lights didn’t die. Our tour guide was very informative and taught us a lot about the Oceab life and even got a Jellyfish on his paddle for everyone to see.
Spectacular experience. The moon was out and the stars/planets were bright. If you like outdoor adventures, this is definitely for you. Kayaking through mangroves and open water at night is a truly unique experience. Captain John was brilliant in his guidance and knowledge. We already said next time we are back in Key West, we will book again. Smooth check in. Clear instructions. Thanks Captain John!
It was very fun great tour guide. Didn’t get too wet and wasn’t too much of a work out on the arms……
We had a great time The guide was great, was not buggy. Fun for all ages I'm 71 and my grandson 14.. wonderful
Cool concept - if it was executed better. Our guide was late, so we got off to a rocky start. I recognize that you can’t control what sea life might be found, but this was pretty disappointing. Saw a couple nurse sharks and some minnows. That was about it. Guide wasn’t great, and kept paddling away and leaving people behind.
Crew was knowledgeable and guided us through the waters. We got to see jelly fish and coral. Will recommend
Very educational with a chill atmosphere. Guide was very passionate about the knowledge he shared. A bit buggy, don't forget the bug spray.
Experience was great, your guide very knowledgeable. The only reason not giving 5 stars was due to sargassum that had killed all fish/jellfish so did not see anything which was a huge bummer. If you go just be prepared for minimal to zero animals.
Great nighttime trip! Bring bug spray and a headlamp if you want to see more. Guide was very knowledgeable, but sometimes too knowledgeable if you know what I mean. Fun experience you should do at least once 😁
The sargasm had recently killed the fish in the area of the mangroves, so we saw no marine life. However, kayaking the mangroves at night was an experience I’m glad I had the chance to see. Really cool.
We’ve done a bunch of day trips but the night trip was super cool. Worth the time and money! The guide was so knowledgeable and patient with the folks that were new to kayaking
Our guide was very knowledgeable and got to see a lot of marine life would book again definitely
Really cool and unique experience. Guide was knowledgeable, loved going through the mangrove tunnels! Would definitely go again next year !
We stayed near the cove. Did go through a mangrove. Only kayaked for maybe an hour. Saw a nurse shark, star fish, jellyfish, and lobsters. For the price we thought there would be more to see and more kayaking. I'll go ahead and recommend it to others but know what you're paying for.
Caution there’s a very down step to the kayak dock. It’s got a a handhold to balance down but still steep. Our guide was Gianni Gragnano he was very sweet and informative about the area.
My daughter and I booked this tour with great excitement after seeing the beautiful photos and reading the description. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of our expectations, and we left feeling heavily disappointed. The promotional images are quite misleading. The kayaks are not fully transparent as they appear in the pictures. Only a small section of the floor is transparent, and even that was heavily scratched, cloudy, and worn, making it difficult to see through. The LED lighting was another disappointment. It was much dimmer than advertised, and visibility was poor unless several kayaks gathered together. Even then, the experience was nowhere near as vibrant or immersive as the photos suggest. Overall, the concept is great, but the equipment appears to be well past its prime and does not deliver the experience being marketed. I would encourage the company to update its photos so they accurately reflect the current condition of the kayaks and to invest in better-maintained equipment. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this tour if the same equipment is still being used. At the very least, I recommend contacting the tour operator beforehand to confirm the condition of the kayaks and lighting so you know exactly what to expect before spending your money. We booked this experience expecting what was advertised, and unfortunately, it did not match the reality.
This was such a cool experience! Jonathan was really funny and informative. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to do a unique excursion in Key West.
The guide was knowledgeable and on point!
