Chill kayak through the mangroves, then over to a private island where you can get out and explore or swim and then a 20 min kayak back. Our guide Mike was great!

Itinerary
One of our fun and well-trained guides takes you through the island mangrove tunnels in search of wildlife. We typically encounter dolphins, osprey, pelicans and shorebirds, and are on the hunt for manatees during the warm water months (Mar-Oct). On the west side beach on Big Hickory Island is one of the best shelling beaches in the area... and the only way there is by watercraft!

Lots of fun. Relaxing and not too strenuous. Out guide Hannah was fabulous. Beautiful experience. Highly recommend!
Great experience. Length of the paddle was perfect. Not rushed and definitely ok for beginner level kayak. They had option of paddle board as well. Bring sunblock or wear a sun shirt and hat.
Luke was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a great experience for the kids though it was too cold for the manatees
Nick was our guide. He was amazing and very knowledgable about the area and wildlife. He added a lot of history and facts about what we’re seeing make it more then just a kayak.. It was an enjoyable 2 1/2 hours - not too strenuous with nice breaks and the ability to see the hidden gems of the mangrove.
Nick was our guide and he did a fantastic job. He was very informative and patient with all of us. We will definitely recommend to friends and book again.
We really enjoyed our time with Luke. We learned many things about the area and animals and it was super cool to go through the mangrove tunnels. With the size of our group, there were times we had a little trouble hearing him so another guide may have help or gathering the group together before talking about the eco systems we’re seeing could have been useful. We would definitely recommend this company and this trip.
Excellent tour/experience. Hannah, our guide was so knowledgeable about wild life and the area in general. We saw a manatee, dolphin and numerous birds. Also learned tons about the mangroves. Highly recommend this fun activity!
It was a lot of fun. We chose the paddle boards over the kayaks. I recommend bringing water sunscreen and a snack. My 12-year-old got pretty hungry about halfway through after viewing the paddle board for an hour and the rest of her trip would’ve been better with little food.
Nick was insightful and kept the group organized. He took great pictures along the way so we could focus on the experience.
We took the guided tour because unfamiliar with the area. I’m glad we did. Once we got in the mangroves, I got turned around. We ran into 2 parties who were lost and our guide gave them directions. We kayaked first to the beach and got to shell and swim. Then we set off through the mangroves and then Estero Bay. Very low key, relaxing paddle.
Jack was able to guide us; was accommodating. My aunts first time in a kayak therefore did the tandem and helped through the process in calmness in learning how to navigate.
We had a fun time on the paddleboards but it is a little work since you are paddling for about 2 hours. Its unfortunate that the pictures we got were blurry and we only got 5 of them. Otherwise it was a good trip.
Eric was a great guide. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed our kayak tour 🙂
It was a very relaxing and fun experience. Seth was a great guide and made sure we were all comfortable. We plan on returning.
Had a great time with our guide Nick leading the way. He was so knowledgeable on the all the things we saw. The shelling was super fun. We met a group that was on a tour with Nick the day before and went back out on their own. Very well organized and all the staff were helpful. We will do this again sometime.
Very fun and informative about the wildlife and plants in the area. Hannah and Zach were very friendly and full of information, 10/10 would recommend for anyone who is visiting and looking for an activity the get you out to see the beauty the area has to offer!!
Nick was fantastic and very educational. He made the trip exciting and fun. It was also nice to hear about how the company started.
Josh and Victoria were patient with us first time kayakers and excellent guides Such a relaxing enjoyable excursion. Great history, marine life and vegetation explanation from Josh. He's so informative and adds more fun to the tour!
Hannah, our tour guide was great! Very personable and knowledgeable! Water was clear and warm. Didn’t see dolphins, but we were able to see several birds and crabs.
This experience is a great opportunity to see our 11 and 9 years children paddling for 2hours and 30 minutes in their own despite all the challenges they were faced with . Hanna was a great guide who dedicated her time and energy to get the kids through it with a major success and love to do it again. Elizabeth should have sent us some pictures as she promised by the end of our experience but till today she did not honor her promise .,
Our kayak tour with Nick was incredible! He was super knowledgeable and clearly knew the area and its wildlife inside and out. We learned so much while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Nick made the experience fun, safe, and educational — highly recommend!
This was a very unique experience to learn a lot about the natural setting of the Florida coast. I saw so much wild life. We even saw dolphin! My guide Nick was quick to point out all the birds, marine life and plant life that we came across. He was so knowledgeable. I’m so glad I did a tour instead of just renting a kayak. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the serenity of the mangroves. It was wonderful.
Because of wind we only paddled one mangrove tunnel and stayed on the key beach for most of the tour. I had expected, and experienced the last time, that we‘d go more with the kayak than maybe half a mile and back
Just keep a count on how many you have and look for them when you don't have all 12. We have a great time, other family is coming today.
E collect tour. Hannah was great, funny and gave alot of educational info about the wildlife qe saw along the way. Highly recommend! Very well priced also!
Didn’t see any dolphins or manatees but a great time none the less. Cameron was a great guide, extremely knowledgeable on the history and biology of the area.
Great tour. Cameron was an awesome guide. Mix of mangrove channels and more open water kayaking. Minor equipment challenge on our tour was competently handled by the guide and other tourists. Didn’t see much wildlife other than birds, and red tide provided plenty of dead fish to see. One caution is you’re paddling against (and with) tidal currents for half the tour, more or less, and across more open water where discourteous boaters don’t seem to care about their wakes. Not too bad and not the tour’s fault but advance warning for some guests when making equipment choices may have helped.
Great experience to explore wildlife, very peaceful kayaking, tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind.
It was an amazing tour with tourguide Nick. He has an incredible knowledge about the wildlife in the area. We had a wonderful afternoon discovering lots of different Animals, was the best choice to do it
Chill and relaxed( I was a passenger princess)lesson in Florida fauna and wildlife. We kayaked to a beach, where we walked and found thousands of shells. Took pictures and enjoyed the fresh air and new friends we made.
We had a great experience. It was a lot of fun, the perfect Christmas Eve excursion. Nick was a great guide.
Our guide, Nick, was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the land and the wildlife, and he personalized the experience to cater to our group. We had fun and learned a lot!
Our experience was outstanding! Hannah was knowledgeable and skillful and we had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery! Would recommend to anyone looking to have some fun and see a beautiful piece of Florida!
Our tour guide was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and kind. We enjoyed seeing the dolphins and learning about the wildlife a d seashells.
This a very nice tournament we enjoy it. We saw dolphins was wonderful we enjoy the nature. Our guide was very kind and sweet person
My wife and I had a really great time! Our guide was knowledgeable and easy-going, making our experience relaxing and enjoyable. We encountered a lot of the local wildlife, including dolphins, manatees, and ospreys, and Big Hickory island was a great place to find shells we rarely found before on Bonita beach. We would definitely recommend!
We had a fantastic time with our tour guide Hannah! We saw lots of birds and even some manatees. Hannah was incredibly knowledgeable, and gave us a new appreciation for the complexity of shells and plant life in Florida. Group sizes are kept small, which let us get to know our guide and ensured she had eyes on all of us the whole trip. She took plenty of pictures, including over 25 of us. We almost went for the rental alone, but the tour is worth the extra cost!
Such a great experience! Mike, a.k.a., the "Dolphin whisperer", lead us through mangroves and along beaches that were absolutely beautiful. We got to watch dolphins play. Mike was very knowledgeable about the native plants, birds, and plants that we saw along the way. We stopped on an iOS, and he found and shared information about the different types of shells that were common in the area and the critters that lived in them! I was too early in the season to see the manatees... would love to come back to see them! THANKS, Mike!!
Our guide Cameron was absolutely amazing. Extremely knowledgeable about the chemistry physics and biology of the plant life the mollusks the fish, the tides the beaches. It was a truly fascinating experience. He was a captivating storyteller.
We are a family of five (kids aged 7, 11 and 13) and had booked a guided tour. Even though kayaking was new to most of us, everybody quickly found the rhythm under great guidance from tour guide and enjoyed every minute of it. Unfortunately we didn’t se dolphins or manatees, but enjoying the other wildlife, shelling on the little beach and paddling along was all worth it.
Excellent, excellent kayak trip!! Very knowledgeable guide, beautiful scenery, and great shelling!! Our guide was very focused on the group having a good, safe time and gave lots of valuable information. A great trip for young, old, and in between. We will be doing this trip again!!
We did a 3 hour tour of Estero bay with Cameron - an extremely knowledgable guide! Learned loads about sea life, the birds and the local area. I highly recommend this tour - fun and very informative.
Our guide was very personable, knowledgeable, and informative. Not only did we enjoy kayaking in the mangroves, we learned about the local plants and marine animals. We would definitely take a paddle tour with Glenn again!
Great adventure with Glen this weekend. He was very knowledgeable and made the trip a lot of fun. I will book again when I have visitors in town !
Adventures Kayaking gave me and my wife a great experience. The weather was windy and kayaking in the estuary wasn't a very safe option, but Adventures Kayaking set us up to go down the more sheltered Imperial River instead. We had an excellent time and couldn't be happier. We'd love to have more adventures with them in the future!
Glenn was very informative about the wildlife and ecosystem. We were out about 2.5 months after Ian and saw the impact on the area.
