Itinerary
We do the driving along the iconic Overseas Highway, or US Highway 1, the only road that connects the Florida Keys from the tip of Florida to Key West.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery as we traverse the iconic 7-mile bridge. See the original historic bridge and Pigeon Key along the way. Your guide will share the history of the bridges and the fun facts that make this bridge so special.
Spot endangered Key Deer on our world-famous Key Deer Safari. Get award-winning photos while learning about these little white-tail deer, the smallest species of deer in North America.
Your guide will provide a walking tour of the aquarium and will coordinate any additional optional encounters. Pet stingrays, see sharks and alligators, pick up a conch or sea urchin, and more!
This is your tour company. We hope you enjoyed your tour!

Having never been to the Keys before, this was a great way to learn all about the keys and to see important sites from Key West to Marathon.
What a fantastic experience! This tour is highly recommended! Troy was very flexible and accommodating. Very knowledgeable about the history and local facts. He was a great communicator, friendly, and very comfortable to be with. The aquarium was a must see, and we participated in the snorkeling experience (extra). Tip: there is a personal shower in both the men's and ladies' restrooms...but no lockers to store your items, and no air dryers to help dry hair. Bahia State park was a great nature walk and you can walk on the old railroad/highway bridge. We also saw an alligator at the Blue Hole, and deer on the way there. This is a family friendly tour that is good for a variety of activity levels!
Troy is a wonderful Tour guide. Who KNOWS the area well and gave great tips for the rest of our trip!
Troy was very knowledgeable, patient and very flexible. I would highly recommend Troy and this tour. The Aquarium was great and it was awesome seeing the Key Deer. We learned a lot about the history of the keys. Lunch at No Name Bar was great!
This is a relaxing daytime tour of several of the Florida Keys. If you are unfamiliar with the Keys, or even if you’ve traveled through, this is a wonderful way to learn about the history, the environment, the people who made the keys famous, and even some out of the way restaurants and pubs frequented by the locals. Our super nice tour guide Troy made sure to get to know exactly the kinds of things we would be interested in and freely communicated with us prior to our tour to be sure we were comfortable with time and location of pickup.
George is a very knowledgeable tour guide. He knows Key West like the back of his hand, and he accommodated our need very well. We had a enjoyable tour and highly recommend it. Try to do it on your first day so you can learn from George what to see and where to eat.
My mom and I took the Full Day Tour with Troy from Up The Keys yesterday, traveling from Marathon to Key West. Troy was fantastic—punctual, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He tailored the day to exactly what we wanted to see and do, and along the way, shared so much helpful information about the Florida Keys. I highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your vacation. It gave us a great overview of the area and made us feel confident and prepared to explore on our own for the rest of the week. Thank you, Troy—we’re so glad we did this!
Great tour, brilliant host Dee Dee. Looked after us all day. Saw plenty of deer and learned lots about the history of the keys, bridges and nature.
Lots of fun great time highly recommend book this tour if you want to have fun. My thoughts enjoy the day
This was fun! Our guide was Troy and even though we didn’t book a private tour, that’s how he ran it. He is very knowledgeable and shared awesome stories. This is a great way to see more of the keys and learn about the history and also current culture of the keys.
Excellent tour guide, Troy! Very knowledgeable of local history, sights and culture. Good driver and patient. We enjoyed the Dolphin Research Center and Aquarium in Marathon.
Our guide was personable and very knowledgeable. It was nice to be able to leave the driving to her and just concentrate on the beauty of the keys. The pace was good; never felt rushed through any of our stops. Enjoyed the aquarium, seeing the old railroad tracks, the Key Deer...a very pleasant day! Would recommend this tour to others!
Our guide Dee Dee was fantastic! she was very knowledgeable about the Florida Keys, the history of the bridges, the state park, and pretty much everything that you wanted to know about the keys! She was very accommodating to everyone, and very friendly and laid-back. I really enjoyed my time on this tour and looking at all of the beautiful bridges, and the Bahia Honda state parks ocean. My favorite part was the key deer experience. I highly recommend the trip!
Troy is very knowledgeable. The Van was very comfortable. There were many scenic stops along the way. Meet the Dolphins was well worth it!
Very knowledgeable tour guide but more like a tour with your high school teacher than with fun friend ( as our previous tours). George was very good at touching base with our pickup, also keeping us informed and full of many fascinating facts.
Had a great experience on this tour. Our guide was very informative as well as particularly kind to my 80 year old Mother.
Our guide was super! He knew all the right places to catch a glance of the key deer. We even got to pet one in the “ wild”. We enjoyed our lunch at Bahia State park. The hikes were great too. His narrative of the history of the Upper Keys was very informative. I’d highly recommended this tour.
Hearing all the local information and experiencing the courtesy of our driver Scott was fantastic. He managed to keep our spirits up in spite of the torrential rain. The aquarium provided the opportunity to feed the stingrays and see the habitants of the Ocean
Wonderful private tour. Scott the owner is awesome. As we age we take more private tours to just sit back and see all sights and the history of the area. No hassle. Your own pace. Treat yourself to one on Up The Keys Tour.
Scott was a great tour guide! Very accommodating and showed my daughter and son-in-law how to fish for lobsters!
Scott was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed our trip. It was a great way to see various parts of the keys.
Scott did an amazing job. He was very nice and attentive. He was very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely recommend
Terrific indepth tour of the keys. Scott and wife are so very accommodating and Scott could explain so much about the area. Being picked up and dropped off at our hotel was the best...not to mention the lunch provided to the group.
We booked a partial day tour since this full day tour might have been too hard for my feet and legs. The tour organizer called us several days before to say they didn't get the minimum of riders, so would we like to join a group for the longer tour another day? We did. Tour guide Elaine did a great job in communicating with us and caring for us, even taking a sandwich order ahead of time. We especially enjoyed the dolphin center on Marathon Key, and the old seven mile bridge, some beautiful spots. The guide was flexible to our interest and energy level (we were two older couples).
Our group of four had a fantastic day. Scott went out of his way to ensure that every guest was enjoying the outing. We have been to Key West many times and were looking for something different. This was exactly that.
A great way to discover the islands, with a friendly atmosphere and engaging activities. Especially if you don't have a car or don't want to drive, it is really ideal.
Scott was awesome. We were here right after hurricane Ian. Scott kept us posted as to what was open and what was closed. We ended up move out tour back one day. The aquarium was great, I was able to feed the animals. While we were at the aquarium, Scot got lunch for us at subway! He was open to all kinds of questions and very knowledgeable. We had difficulty finding the the deer… but Scott didn’t give up until we found a couple. I would recommend this tour to everyone. I was very impressed with his knowledge and his professionalism! He made it fun! I’m so glad we did this tour!!
We highly recommend Up the Keys Tour! Scott and Maddie were in contact from the booking on making sure we knew about all the options available and that we were signed up for what we wanted. Maddie was our tour guide. She picked us up at our rental condo and had so much information about the area and unique features of each of the keys we visited. She was flexible and helped us make last minute changes. The Aquarium Encounters were fabulous. My 30 something daughters and son-in-law loved the reef snorkel Encounter, the stingray Encounters and feeding the sharks. Lunch and plenty of snacks and water were provided. She even offered to make a coffee stop that morning. We saw key deer but didn't see any gators at Blue Hole on the way to Marathon but she stopped back by on the way home and we saw more deer including a fawn and an alligator! Our family of 6 were the only ones on the tour and Maddie made sure we were comfortable the whole time. She took plenty of family photos. I can't even list all the things we saw. Highly recommend this tour!
This tour was one of the best parts of our trip to Key West! Maddy was awesome and went out of her way to be sure we were comfortable and happy. We had 6 of us so we upgraded to the private tour and it was absolutely worth it! Absolutely recommend as a great way to see more of the Keys than just Key West!
Indy was informative, helpful, courteous and the best companion for this trip! We started at the Dolphin Research Center, did Big Pine key and the deer, the Blue Hoke, 7 Mile bridge and a walking tour of Key West all in one day. I had a fabulous time and learned so much!
Mr. Indy Holmes is a superb tour guide who provided my wife and me with a wonderful tour of the Florida Keys along the Overseas Highway. We particularly enjoyed the Dolphin Research Center and Bahia Honda State Park. We had a very nice picnic lunch at the Park, walked to the top of the old bridge, and then were able to walk in the water on the secluded beach side of the Park. Indy is a fun and knowledgeable tour guide who made our van trip up and down the Keys a lot of fun. We highly recommend this tour with Indy Holmes.
Kim is a fun and very knowledgeable tour guide. We were able to see and photograph numerous Key deer and she explained the threat to the endangered species due to hurricanes and loss of habitat. The aquarium was a fun place that lets you interact with the native sea life. We saw 2 alligators and other wildlife at Blue Hole. Lunch at Bahia Honda State Park and Beach offered a white sand beach with spectacular views of the 7 mile bridge. On the way back Kim gave us plenty of recommendations for things to do and good places to eat that were spot on.
Flying into Key West the night before and deciding not to contribute to traffic we didn’t rent a car. Kim offering Hotel pick up was the primary reason we selected Up The Keys Tour, SO GLAD WE DID. Kim emailed the night before via Trip Advisor for our hotel location and was right on time. VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE van with sodas, drinks and snacks for our day trip up the Florida Keys. Kim shared local history, sights and lore along the way TO our the first stop, buy a Honda 😉. Special to me, because as a child I had traveled on the old highway (what were my parents drinking and I bet not a seat belt in sight). Next stop the Aquarium. WONDERFUL. Not your big commercial place a true aquarium- animals and hands on education first. RECOMMENDED for the whole family. On they way back- 🦌 hunting, with your eyes only. The mini deer were delightful, fake out bird was a hoot and let’s not forget the alligator. Skip the no name bar and spend the time at the TIKI BAR instead, you are local here. Thank you Kim. It was like spending the day with a friend catching up on local events, what we had missed while away and on ISLAND TIME. JP
My wife and I came down to Key West for our anniversary and we were so lucky that we were able to book with Kim. She is sweet, knowledgeable and very funny. We will book again when we have the kids land come back! Check out the Aquarium Encounter it was amazing! Recommend to everyone!
