The staff were great, they were so determined to ensure everyone caught a fish! It’s such a great value and we had a really nice day on the water - great for all fishing abilities.

Itinerary
On this trip, we head out to the reef to do some bottom fishing for snapper, grouper and other reef species. It gets deep quickly here, so we'll be fishing just a mile offshore of the beautiful Fort Lauderdale coastline. Our experienced and fun mates help with baiting and rigging to help you come home with a catch. At the end of the trip, the mates offer free fish cleaning, so if you catch good eating fish, you can take your fish home or to one of our local restaurants to get them cooked up. Every day is different and you never know what may be biting out there. Good luck and have fun!

EXCELLENT! Christina and Josh were AWESOME and super helpful!
The captain n crew are friendly, nice, and experienced. They keep you informed in detail as to what each step of the day will be. Always remember that fishing is fun n relaxing. Catching is just the bonus prize
Super fun experience! Unfortunately the fish weren’t really biting, but that’s not at the fault of our guides. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and so fun! Overall the trip was amazing
It was a great experience and the weather was perfect. The price to go deep sea fishing was just right for the experience. When you arrive you have to pay for parking which is $22 for 5 hours and make sure you use their meter and not the online one because online will charge you $22 an hour. We had a small group on our trip which was only 15 people and everyone didn’t choose to keep their fish so if you want lots of fish to take to the restaurant after the crew filets them which is only 1.5 miles away, make sure to ask some other people that’s fishing if they don’t want to keep their fish they catch could you keep them…that’s what we did. The staff was wonderful and very friendly and helpful throughout the trip. They also ask for tips preferably $20 a person but you can tip what you feel is best. The view of the ocean and the atmosphere was awesome and someone caught a shark and a Maui Maui on our trip. All in all this deep sea fishing is best for catching smaller fish not monsters unless you wanna pay $200 plus a ticket which is why this trip is only $70 or less a person. I would definitely give it a 10/10 and recommend trying it out if you love to fish. Also, if you want to go again the same day they offer $20 off your next trip so keep that in mind if you wanna make a day out of it.
Took the morning day trip for 4 hours and the boat crew were the best and helpful people, it was the greatest time I could've asked for catching fish in the deep sea for the first time! Josh in particular worked with everyone and helped me start understanding how to catch some keeper size fish, so much that I reserved the night time fishing opportunity which wasn't as good as what I experienced on the morning trip but I still caught some fish. Highly recommend this experience overall, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the ocean and some awesome fish just like I did.
I’ve been on drift boats before. This one was not family friendly. Captain Mike (who never left his wheel house) relied on 2 high school kids to run the deck. They in turn disappeared most of the time to be on their phones. Never once did they bait a hook. Only took 1 fish off the hook the entire trip. Watched one kid tell my daughter hook is ready after he had to restring it and walk off. Very poor service.
Captain Gary and Mate Josh were fantastic. Tons of fun and a great time. My wife and I caught 7 fish of different species. Will absolutely do it again on a return trip.
Perfect experience 10/10 recommendation. Knowledgeable crew, help the entire time, tons of fish to catch. A perfect fishing trip.
We were thrilled with the service. Ashley did a great job maneuvering the boat to different areas for fish. The 3 mates Jonah, Josh & Jessie were very helpful, friendly and educated everyone on the various types of fish caught. During the cruise part, they dutifully would mark everyone's individual fish. Afterwards a thorough job of cleaning and filleting the fish on the dock commenced for free. It was delightful! Adults and children had a blast feeding the tarpin with the leftovers!! When my husband and I returned to the condo, we seasoned and fried the "grunts" we caught. Delicious dinner...we recommend this tour to everyone!!
Owner and crew of the boat was awesome. They were lots of fun, hands on, and helpful throughout the entire excursion. Boat conveniently had guest bathrooms and cold water. Would def return and recommend. The other participants had lots of fun as well. The company provides a punch card to get the 6th visit for free.
Great experience, captain and crew took care of us and brought us to the best fishing spots , guranteed fun for beginners or veteran fishers !
Wonderful staff. Knowledgeable, friendly, fun caught a lot of fish. Christine took care of us all. Always a smile on her face. She knew so much about the area
Staff is friendly, boat is acceptable, Rod, bait, etc. all acceptable. What ruined our experience was not catching a single fish. They need to find a new location to bring their customers. Most people on the boat were thoroughly disappointed
A fun trip to do with family or friends! However I would recommend a minimum age. We had a 2/3 year old onboard a he cried the complete 4 hours. And subsequently the dad git sick and had to vomit… Also for us 4 hours was a bit long, 3 would also have been good. And the boot could get an update. Doesn’t need to be fancy but some maintenance. And there was a big emphasis on tipping the crew. While i understand that tips are appreciated, the repeated reminders felt e bit much
Great time smiles from ear to ear on my kids faces. My daughter (10) caught 2 small sharks and a yellow fin jack. My son 17 caught several fish, and I did as well. Great crew and captain.
Josh and Christina on the 8:30am tour were the best!!! When I tell you I don’t know what I’m doing out at sea, I mean I know nothing. The things we do for our kids…..Josh and Christina untangled my line, unhooked the line from snagged rocks, helped bait my hooks, chummed the waters and we all caught something to take home and cook. The crew celebrated all our wins and the captain worked real hard moving us around to keep us on the fish. The tour was so good we did it twice.
Josh and Christina made our fishing trip extra special. Us along with are grandsons had an amazing time. Thank you for a great experience.
Great time. Was good for kids too! Large fishing boat was not the prettiest on the water, but had a nice large indoor space with AC and plenty of room and seats around decks. Boat went plenty fast and they took us to several different spots to fish
I think that there’s too many people on this charter, you have very little room to move around and the lines are always tangling up because the lines are so close to one another. The boat does not go far and nobody catches big fish at all. Also it clearly states to show up 30 minutes prior but there’s always people that show up late, the boat should leave on time and not wait , it’s not fair to the ones that were there on time. You get a little tub of squid for bait, then halfway thru you get a very small portion of sardines but that’s all. Don’t expect to catch big fish.
It was a great time me and my wife bouth caught fish would do it again just wish the boat was a little less packed
They were great and helped us with everything. After the trip they fillet the fish we caught. They were very friendly.
Super friendly and helpful crew even though I was sick the rest of the group was able to catch plenty of fish
John & Josh knew what they were doing. I was a first timer & the instructions were pretty clear. It was an overall great time & experience!!
The mates made this a great experience led by Jessie. Mike and Chris were fantastic. They were super engaged with the little ones - making sure they reel in a couple of catches.
Minor boat problems before we left and left late. Got on a different boat and smooth sailing after that. Since we left late we came back late. The captain was great and made sure we got what we paid for. The deck hands were fantastic and came around to help when we got a fish and gave tips. They cleaned the fish we caught, a little over 1 lb. We took it to Southport raw bar to finish with wonderful food. We all caught fish and enjoyed ourselves.
The area has very small parking lot and machine for paid parking was broken and website for paid parking was not working. The boat that picked us up for the trip was cosmetically not in the best shape and windows on the boat were very dirty (looked like they were not cleaned in a very long time). There was a group in the back of the boat that had better fishing equipment and bait. We were given small hooks and one inch pieces of squid for bait. I had asked if there was an upgrade package and the crew said no. From what I gathered, you should bring your own equipment and bait to catch large fish on this trip. The crew also rely heavily on tips from customers There is a bathroom on the boat but no running water or soap. Bring hand sanitizer and wipes with you. Crew does have a water hose on the back end of the boat. I would only recommend this tour for people that bring their own fishing equipment and bait to catch large fish. You also need to bring your own drinking water, snacks, food, wipes and hand sanitizer on this trip.
Captain and crew were great. Worth the trip. FYI. Take more water than beer.
It was a lot of fun! Though we only caught a few small fishes, it was a wonderful experience! The crew were great
Kaleb, & John were the ABSOLUTE best Mates ever. The fish was biting, but not catching....The weather was perfect. This crew was top tier, . All the things that people can control they did a perfect job
This was my very first ever visit to Ft Lauderdale Florida and The crew on Catch My Drift was nothing but very amazing and I look forward to coming back and visiting the crew again captain Gary, Mate John and Mate Kaylib I do apology I forgot the 3rd mates name and I would like to thank each and everyone working on that vessel and the knowledge and professionalism displayed to my group
The crew was great and were very helpful. All fishing supplies were provided as described. It was a good size boat with about 40 anglers on board, but that seemed to be too many as some lines did get crossed, likely due to the currents that day. We were hoping to catch more fish, I snagged 3 and my son got 2, but all were pretty small. Most fish caught on this day were small, as one mate would say "It's a taco". They also did not encourage people to consider moving around the boat a little, so you were somewhat stuck where you first sit down. This is a bit of an issue because one side was in the sun all morning and the other in the shade. Even when the boat moved to a different spot, it didn't turn and adjust so the sun was on the other side. The boat itself was big and had seating inside but was not in great shape and not very inviting. Overall for the price it was OK, the crew was excellent and a bigger boat that didn't go too far out, but could use some TLC.
I went with my family and we had an amazing day. Josh and Christine were very helpful as my family and I do not have much fishing experience. We went to multiple fishing spots that had different types and sizes of fish for us to catch. After we got off the boat, Josh and Christine filleted our caught fish with speed. Overall, we had a great day and would love to come again!
Had a wonderful time fishing. The staff was helpful and fun. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves to fish or learning. Thanks for a fun day out on the water 😀
We had the best experience with this crew. John, Josh and Christina were so helpful, kind and fun. I have zero experience fishing but with their guidance I got the hang very quickly. Looking forward to my next trip with this excursion company. Oh and yes I caught three fish.
It was a fun time. Josh was very helpful with our fishing and made it an even better experience.
Boat was great and caught quite a bit smaller fish. Fishing tour guides were great! Assisted with any question/need we had. Josh was fun!
People should know that this boat doesn't travel smoothly through the water. Even when anchored during fishing, the boat rocked back and forth. You will get very nauseated and possibly throw up. This was acknowledged by the staff as they told us where to vomit while on the ship. (into the ocean) Remember to take your own water and snacks - there is nothing available on board. Other than the nausea, this was a great adventure.
Awesome experience! Knowledgeable, friendly and professional crew. Caught lots of fish…and lost a few too! Definitely recommend Drift Fishing to anyone looking for a fun activity in Ft. Lauderdale.
I cannot recommend this enough!!! We had captain Mike, Josh, and Kristina for our tour and they were fabulous. We had our two boys with us (age 6 and 10) and they were so good with them. This was our first time out fishing on the ocean and we loved it. We will absolutely be doing this again when we visit again!
It was okay but no fish it could have been a little longer and more people could have caught some fish but overall I still have a nice time
Great experience, everyone was polite and friendly. Unique experience for me and my family. Everything was according with the plan.
Ok so, the staff and everything was great BUT!! We weren’t sure of how far out we go since they don’t tell you, and the water was super choppy causing 90% of the passengers to be insanely sick! Like everyone was puking, myself and my friends were sooo sick and couldn’t even fish because of it. They don’t take you back unless 100% of the passengers want to go back. So we were stuck there for 4 hours sicker than a dog. I cried the entire time begging to leave. Staff gave me ice and water n kept checking on me which was nice but there should be warnings of how sick ppl are getting on this ride. PS Chris and Gordan were amazing !
Chris and Ben were amazing. We got five Tuna and a 55 lb Wahoo.
Friendly guides who helped with everything. We even got to feed the pelican who hung out on the boat.
Had a great time very enjoyable
Amazing crew, huge experience. We had so much fun. Thank you to all of you guys !
Very limited catch. I expected more fish. Tripadvisers directions to the starting point put us 1.5 miles from the actual starting point.
This experience was relaxing, exciting, and very well organized! Listen to the mate, crew members, and guides. Fish were caught left and right. It was a wonderful experience. AND THE FISH!! THEY WERE BIG!!!
Although we didn't catch anything, we had a fun time out on the water. The crew were fun and engaged with us. The fish weren't bitting much but whenever someone caught something they would make sure everyone got to see it. They particularly made sure any kids on the ship got to help with reeling in a fish.
