Dolphin Watching Key West And Snorkeling

Tim was an awesome captain! Coordinated with other area guides to help us find some decent visibility at a nearby reef. Had an awesome time in the water and saw some rays, Goliath Grouper, an eel, a barracuda and TONS of other fish. Way more than we expected and honestly, one of the best snorkel experiences we’ve ever had! Took us around the island and got to learn some of the history for a time afterwards and we ended up saving a gentleman who had been pulled out of the swim area at the Truman Annex, who we later found out was a guest at our hotel! A wonderful day all in all and Tim was 5 stars!⭐️

This was honestly one of the best experiences we had in Key West🐬💙 We had such an amazing time with Captain Melanie❤️ We left with the biggest smiles😁 Seeing the dolphins swimming alongside us was something alongside us was something I'll never forget. It was such a beautiful and special experience. Melanie brought us snorkeling where we saw incredible different types of fish🐟🐠 Im so happy we decided to do this charter. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Key West. We are anxious to go back and do it again ❤️🐬😁

We had such a wonderful dolphin and snorkeling boat tour. We saw dolphins up close and while snorkeling, we spotted so many beautiful fish. The captain was friendly, everything felt safe and fun, and the whole experience was just amazing. Highly recommended.

Wow! We booked this as a family of four, we wanted an experience that was a little more personal and not a huge group. There were six of us and our captain “Tim”. Tim made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped onboard the boat. He knew just the right places to take us to try and spot dolphins, he hit the jackpot as we saw a group of five. He didn’t rush us and allowed us to watch the dolphins for quite some time. He then took us to a perfect spot to do some snorkelling. We saw lots of different species and again Tim guided us and gave us plenty of information about the different species we saw. After snorkelling he took us to swim on the sand banks, very warm and relaxing. My daughters thoroughly enjoyed the trip, they particularly enjoyed sitting at the front of the boat when it went fast through the water! Tim was very knowledgeable and very friendly, happily answering questions from all guests. We’d 100% go on another dolphin tour with Tim 😊

We had a really great experience! The guides were friendly, professional, and made the trip very enjoyable. Seeing dolphins in their natural habitat was absolutely wonderful and definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Key West. We also really enjoyed the swimming and snorkeling stop in a beautiful spot with clear water. Everything was well organized and the atmosphere on board was relaxed and friendly. Tim was amazing! We saw multiple pods of residential (local) dolphins including babies. We also saw a sail fish??? There were flying fish too. This was an awesome experience, and the sand bar was unreal.

Great day on the water! As a local when doing trips like this, this company is perfect! Firstly, Capt Tim is a cutie and a great host!!!!! Knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. They take a max of 6 so it’s an intimate group. They take you to the more isolated snorkeling areas so it’s a more intimate experience and there’s not 10 boats full of tourists in one spot. The snorkeling site was great! Lots of fish, coral heads, and other impressive sea life! Seeing the dolphins so close up was pure magic. Of all my trips I’ve taken here in Key West as a local this was one of my fav.

We had so many great experiences all on one trip! We saw dolphins, rodents in a great boat through a storm, saw sponges, and saw beautiful coral reef fish.

Came to Key West for my birthday weekend and decided to book a sandbar charter because of the excessive sargassum at the beaches. It turned out to be one of the best decision we made! Captain Ionut was cool, friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly hospitable throughout the trip. He made sure we had a great time and knew all the best spots. We got to see some dolphins, then out to a sandbar to enjoy the pristine waters. I’d book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone going out with Dolphin Safari Charters. Excellent experience. Our captain was great with quite a bit of knowledge of Key West. We really enjoyed the small boat with just the 3 of us. our captain put us on a large pod of dolphins right away. Very pleased. Highly recommend!

Although we only saw four dolphins, we snorkeled with hundreds of fish in crystal clear water. Captain Melanie was great! The trip would suit all ages and experience.

Unfortunately due to weather we were unable to go on our trip. The owners were absolutely fantastic trying to reschedule working with our schedule - in fact we were rescheduled 3 times and the wind blocked us each time. The commitment to customer service was outstanding. Thank You for trying!

We had a great time on our trip! Started out watching for dolphins and got treated to watching a mama and her calf fishing as well as a few others diving near our boat. The snorkeling was amazing, so many colorful fish! Our daughter dived down and saw an eel peeking out from the coral and a Goliath grouper who was quite shy. After our snorkeling we were asking about sharks and our guide took us to an area where we could see 7+ nurse sharks over the side of the boat. A great day, would highly recommend for a smaller more personal experience.

We left on time with Melanie to take a 3 hour tour, 6 people had plenty of room on the boat. We saw 6 dolphins within the first 20 minutes then another dolphin family with a baby on our way back to the dock. The small boat experience was great, definitely better than going out with those big boat groups. We spent a lot of time enjoying the dolphins and went in the water to check out the reef. I didn’t expect to get to tour around by mallory square and see that coast from the water. Loved seeing Sunset Key up close ❤️ So glad we chose this charter!

We had the best time on the Dolphin Safari Sandbar Trip! The waters of Key West are absolutely gorgeous. Pictures never do the actual experience justice! We did a 3 hour sandbar tour with our guide, Eddie, and one other couple. Eddie was fantastic! He shared bits of information as we navigated the waters of the Gulf. We were able to see some dolphins on our way to the sandbar which was a nice bonus! While at the sandbar we enjoyed music, snorkeling, and just floating in the water. Dolphin Safari was easy to book, easy to find, and helped us have a great day on the water! We would definitely book with them on our next Keys adventure!

We loved our Sandbar Trip in the beautiful waters of Key West. Dolphin Safari was the perfect choice for us! Our guide, Eddie, was prompt in picking us up at the start location. We had a gorgeous ride out to the sandbar in spectacularly blue and green water! We even got in a little dolphin watching while heading to our sandbar stop! While visiting the sandbar we were able to play our music through the blue tooth, snorkel, and overall enjoy the experience. Eddie knew about the few creatures we found including a large conch, and decorator urchin! You can not beat the beauty of the Key West waters! We would definitely recommend this tour to others!

This company is amazing! We booked two separate tours with this company, and both were absolutely incredible. This review is specifically for the sandbar tour. Our Captain was Tim and he was so easy going, friendly and so accommodating. Our trip out and back was flawless and the entire time he would point out some of the beautiful wildlife he would spot along the way. We saw sting rays, a Lagerhead turtle, plenty of fish and birds, and tiny crabs. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a relaxing day of enjoying sun, water and nature. The sandbar was paradise! So peaceful and private. I also did their Dolphin/Snorkel tour...also great fun! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Captain Melanie was awesome! Took us to a beautiful little sand bar ten miles west of Key West!! Absolutely memorable! Weather was perfect and the company was awesome!

We had awesome experience with Dolphin Shafari. We spent around almost 2 hours at sandbar place. Our pilot didn't show any rush, he was so calm and relax. When we said we are done lets go, then we left. What I say about that place, place was awesome never seen like this, we were alone at sandbar we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of that place.

Loved our trip with Captain Jim. Hit the sandbar and saw some beautiful dolphins. Came in right in time to catch gorgeous sunset.

Absolutely loved our sandbar tour with Captain Tim! Extremely comfy boat and SO much fun! Great few hours out in perfect weather. Dolphin Safari made everything super easy from check in with free parking to being flexible with what we wanted to do for the day (your sandbar visits will depend on the weather and tide). The boat was well stocked with sodas and waters and had a few snacks, but we were also able to bring our own booze! Highly recommend and would def book again!

Great cruise, amazing views, plenty of dolphin sightings. Enjoy a few drinks while playing in the ocean on a sandbar approx. 6 miles out!!!!! Got to see a big crab shell with the crab in it, and a big conch shell with the conch. Captain James was amazing!!!!!!!!! Highly recommended

Come see a part of Key West that very few people know about. The sand bars are a hidden gem. I live here full time, and have just recently discovered the beauty and remoteness of the sand bars/islands. I've see a lot of charter companies come and go. But Dolphin Safari has been around for a long time. Quality boats, equipment and knowledgeable captains. I had family coming to town, so I wanted to do something new. My excursion with Captain James was a great day. We spent lots of time at a beautiful sand bar, took a nice tour, and made it home in time for happy hour! This was a highlight day for both myself and guests.

Wonderful experience! We were there as a family of 5. 1 boat and 1 captain just for us. Comfortable and powerful boat, a captain who puts you at ease very quickly. Off we go to meet the dolphins, a pleasant route. The dolphins are quickly spotted: no aggressive approach, the boat accompanies the dolphins' progress, some come close to the boat... Later we head off again. Heading to a nice snorkeling spot, all equipment is provided. The place is rich: colorful fish, barracudas, sharks, rays, ... It was a feast for the eyes. Then comes the time to head back leisurely, returning with some nice acceleration and jumps over the waves for the immense pleasure of the children. Captain John saw that they liked it, and it is the true finesse of this captain to know how to adapt to his clients. A tip at the end is possible, but there is no pressure regarding that; it is up to you to decide. We found it was deserved due to the quality of the service, John's involvement, the explanations, the extra fifteen minutes, etc. Top experience in the Keys. Easy and free parking. John is great, but the whole team seems great. We recommend this activity to all Europeans passing through. Our children loved it!

Great family time with Melanie, our captain. We could see dolphins having fun around the boat. We did several snorkelling spots with hundreds of fish of all colors, huge layers....

Dolphin Safari and Snorkelling very disappointing, we did not see any dolphins, and we did not have the opportunity to Snorkell. In addition, virtually no explanation of Marine fauna and the environment, by the captain of the boat. We just stopped on a tiny island, the mud key, which bears his name, infested with mosquitoes. We picked up some shells on the beach and went straight back to Key West, without seeing a dolphin, or the opportunity to dive with mask and fins. I think it’s a bit expensive to come back with a few shells and a lot of mosquito bites.
