Fantastic 90 minute tour with John the guide and John our driver. I live here and learned so much about the history and neighborhoods of Sarasota. Can’t wait to book another trolly tour when family is here for the Holidays.

Very informative and Steve was a great tour guide. We learned a lot about Sarasota in a fun informative way.
This was a great experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, witty, friendly, and has an authentic love for Sarasota. I walked away with insider local information.
I'm so glad my husband and I found this City Sightseeing Trolley Tour of Sarasota. The team of John, John, and Joan all helped make the experience easy and fun. John, our tour guide, had a wonderful sense of humor plus he was very knowledgeable about all things Sarasota. Sarasota has so much to discover. This trolley tour is a great way to discover a lot in a 2 hour period of time. The trolley was clean and air-conditioned. They provide a bottle of water and a map you can refer to if you want. You can hear the tour guide! Thanks for a memorable experience to the 3 J's!
We are local to Lakewood Ranch and have driven to Sarasota for restaurants and the beach, but we wanted to learn more about the history. JJJ (Jon, John, & Joan) make a great team, getting you on Dolly the Trolley and guiding you around this historic town. We saw plenty of massive houses and local landmarks, including hidden gems, great places to eat and visit. There is a load of history here beyond the Ringling mansion. This is a comfortable, entertaining 90-minute tour you won't want to miss!
What an enjoyable tour with Jon and trolley driver John. Once arrived, met by a very friendly lady named Joan. She explained all and we were able to shop inside their tour shop. So nice and personable. Jon gave us laughs along the trolley tour and pointed out great venues as well. Later, my sisters and I visited the Ringling Mansion and all afterwards. Jon told us where to enter and what to see. Great fun and service received on the trolley tour.
Really enjoyed this tour. The guide, John, was very knowledgeable of the area and made the tour worthwhile. He even threw in a few jokes here and there that made it even better. Definitely worth the money and getting familiar with the area.
We enjoy this tour very much. Jon, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area. He held all of our attention the full length of the tour. The tour was 90 mins. It was just long enough. I will definitely do it again.
It was very well run, very informative, and well executed
Great, informative tour. Jon and John were great.
Very interesting 👌 The guide was very helpful about Sarasota history.
This experience was the perfect activity to dive into Sarasota, FL. The length was perfect and comfortable, while having many landmarks. I moved here 6 months ago, and was surprised there was so much to learn about my own city and its gems! I strongly encourage going to the Ringling Museum before or after this trolley tour - we had just gone to Ringling Museum the day before, and it made it that much more special to learn how interwoven the Ringling family is to the fabric of this city.
Very entertaining tour! It exceeded my expectations. We learned some fascinating stories about Sarasota. We really enjoyed it. The only feedback would be for the tour guide to be a little more politically correct.
I have lived for eleven years near Sarasota and I just meet this magical little city. Patrick was our delightful guide with fun and humor the history of Sarasota is told by an Irish man who knows how to tell a story properly.
Dan was a great driver and Pat was a very informative and funny guide
Discover Sarasota city tour is definitely worth taking. I’m fairly familiar with Sarasota but learned several new things on the tour. Our driver, John and guide, Pat were knowledgeable, friendly, humorous and efficient. The 90 minutes flew by. I can recommend the city tour without reservation.
Jon did a great job entertaining us with local stories and history. Bus ride was smooth with appropriate stops.
This was a 90 minute tour of Sarasota showing the highlights and bringing in the history of Sarasota. Our narrator was very knowledgeable having done this tour for a lot of years and added humor along the way. The meeting point was easy to find with a nice little gift shop. Discover Sarasota also offers different tours during the week and at night. Check them out!
The tour was great and we learned many historical facts along with the interesting people who made Sarasota what it is today. John our guide who knows the city intimately made a lot of fun.
Jon and John were great! We enjoyed the tour!
Interesting historical tour about the growth of Sarasota
This was a wonderful tour! John, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertainingl, our trolley driver, also named John, safely navigated us through the busy streets, and Jo, the receptionist showed us great hospitality. Also appreciated the trolley was air-conditioned!!
Patrick was very knowledgeable and humorous
Wow, we’ve visited Sarasota five times now and this was the best excursion we’ve done. Jon, our tour guide was fascinating, funny and so knowledgeable about the area. You could tell he loves Sarasota fondly and has such a passion that shines. Really enjoyable experience and cannot recommend this highly enough. Amazing
John(driver)and John(guide) were an excellent team. John had a great personality and was very knowledgeable of the history of Sarasota. Also was up to date on current happenings in the area. Good bang for the buck!
John and Dan provided an outstanding tour of the Sarasota area. Their knowledge of the region's history, culture, and development made the experience both educational and entertaining. They took us through several of Sarasota's most notable districts, sharing fascinating stories and historical context that really brought the area to life. I especially appreciated learning about how Sarasota evolved over time, from its earliest inhabitants—including Native Americans and Cuban communities—to the arrival of European settlers in the mid-1800s and the growth that followed. The information was presented in a way that was engaging, insightful, and easy to follow, even for those who may not consider themselves history buffs. The tour struck a perfect balance between sightseeing and storytelling, and I came away with a much deeper appreciation for the area. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it as well, which is saying something because he's notoriously hard to impress and usually doesn't get excited about tours or attractions. Even he commented afterward on how great the experience was. The trolley itself was comfortable and equipped with excellent air conditioning, which was especially appreciated on a warm Florida day. Additionally, the woman working in the shop was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're visiting Sarasota or simply want to learn more about the area's rich history and unique character, I highly recommend this tour. It was informative, enjoyable, and one of the highlights of our visit.
We had a great experience, Pat was very entertaining with all the history and stories. John did a great job of driving us around.
Great tour, we really enjoyed it! Would definitely recommend.
Fun and informative. Nice having AC in trolly!
Jon was the best tour guide I've ever had on any tour experience. His enthusiasm was contagious, his knowledge was deep and varied, and his jokes were funny and charming (without being annoying). The tour covered lots of interesting sights and historical points of interest-- gave me really great insight into Sarasota. What a nice time!
A great day on the trolley. Would definitely recommend.
Tour Guide Christine was very knowledgeable and friendly!!! Food was great!!! Best food tour ever. It was our 45th anniversary and she made it special 😊😊😊
Our 2nd tour. Tour guide Jon is knowledgeable about Sarasota history. We got to see areas of Sarasota that I didn’t know existed. Don’t worry about heat. Dolly the Trolley is AC’ed. There are many tours to choose from: sip n see, circus Sarasota, Venice—even a haunted Sarasota but it’s only offered in October. They should offer it year round. Many tours to choose from. Highly recommended.
A good, friendly experience. Tour guide Steve was very good …. Knowledgeable, informative, outgoing.
We have spent a lot of time in Sarasota and thought we knew it pretty well. However, Jon, our guide, shared so much history and interesting facts that we came away with a new understanding of the city. The trolley was a fun way to get around with John as a skilled driver. We highly recommend this tour!
It was such an interesting tour with so much great history of Sarasota! We have been here 8 yrs and still learned so much. I highly recommend it!
What a great opportunity to learn more about our beautiful City of Sarasota. As a resident for the past 11 years. I was familiar with many of the locations on the route, but I learned so much additional information at each stop. Our tour guide, Steve, is extremely knowledgeable and very entertaining. His good humor and interesting stories keeps the tour very lively. The trolley is comfortable with good visibility and audibility. Definitely worth your time whether you're a tourist or a native.
The john and john crew were great! Very informative and entertaining! They keep this Nebraska couple thinking and laughing. Thanks to both of you !
Thank you for an entertaining and historical tour of Sarasota. It was very informative and enjoyable.
The tour seemed rushed. Lots of twists and turns. Hard to tell where you were on the map. Guide Pat was good but rambled a bit. Disappointed that there wasn’t more about the Calusa history. It was just brushed over It was a good basic tour for people unfamiliar with Florida history.
Steve was very informative and entertaining, one of the better tour guides we have had. We would recommend this tour to anyone.
Great experience, our guide was superb! Loved every minute!
The trolley and guide were the best ! I love all the recommendations! How down to earth and friendly our guide was ! Excellent
All was fantastic as Steve was very knowledgeable about all the stops. Only bad thing was that that particular trolley broke down so my husband and I decided to walk back… but we stopped for an ice cream on the way.
Our tour was great! Entertaining and informative. We would highly recommend it. A great orientation to the city.
Tour guide Steve, a Sarasota native was entertaining and informative. Learned a lot about the history of the area as well as the stories that bring life to the community. It is a area alive with art and culture.
A fantastic experience! Steve was absolutely the best: wonderfully entertaining, insightful, informative, funny (always remember 1926!) and oh-so-knowledgeable! A wonderful way to learn about Sarasota's past...present and...(with a touch of the) future!
Steve was excellent. Shared so much info in a fun enjoyable way. I have visited Sarasota many times, but learned many new facts & eager to visit places he suggested.
Staff & tour were great! Bus was full. People on the tour were nice. I brought a hat and long sleeve shirt and wore long pants as I am usually cold on busses. However, I had to take my hat and long sleeve shirt off and roll up my pants and take the water they generously gave us and used it to pour on my legs, head and arms during the whole tour. As I was leaving the tour bus I noticed it was a lot cooler at the front of the bus. It was a very humid day. I would have been ok with the fee if my ride had been comfortable. The tour length was perfect.
