One of the best zoos I have visited! They have volunteers everywhere that are happy to tell you everything you want to know about the exhibit. Everything is very clean and the exhibits are superb. I would highly recommend going to visit!

Nicely organized zoo in a smaller town compared to some of the larger city zoos. Had a wide variety of animals and interactive and educational activities for young children and teens.
This zoo is fantastic. You can feed giraffes, fish and birds, see every animal imaginable, and the exhibits are very eco friendly. We had a wonderful day.
We had a very nice outing today with our 2yr old grandson. Lots of exhibits with the animals being quite active and easy to see. Lions, giraffe, bald eagles, monkeys, bears, alligators, jaguars just to name a few. We also rode the train for a short ride to see more a bit action, closer than the upper viewing platforms. The food options were a bit limited. The “splash pad” (a main reason for going) was closed - so that was a big disappointment. Maybe call ahead on that! The $31 for adult seniors seemed a bit high, but somewhat reasonable. A season pass for locals is the way to go. Overall a nice day. VictorB
We came for the 7pm illumination. It was very cool. Some of the animals were out. The lions were really active making noise, wrestling. Very cute. Not all concessions were open. But it was a fun evening. Definitely need to come back during the day when the majority of the animals are out.
For the amount of money you get charged per person. I feel you should be notified if there is going to be a field trip with hundreds of kids who were screaming the entire day, pushing tou out of the way because they had no manners or enough supervision it truly ruined our experience and I’d love a refund because it was crap if you ask me..the least they could’ve said is there would be a field trip going on
We had a great time!! We bought tickets the night before (Including the zip line package), which enabled us to save money and skip the lines. Volunteers were very friendly. It was a clean zoo and was really impressed with the "natural" habitats for the animals. I highly recommend going! I wanted to go on the kayak tour, but it was too hot. Next time, I would either do that first thing or later in the day. We were also impressed with the help/rescue provided for the animals. We paid additionally to feed the birds and giraffes.
I remember back in 1990 it coast $6 to get in. Must be New Yorkers have taken it over. $26 now and lights on are $44 during the week to $55 on the weekends. And the train ride was much much longer now it's a joke and it cost more it was $1 for a longer ride.. I guess the rinos needed a house so they pulled track for that. We sold my parents house they both passed away so glad we live in spokane Washington. Yes it's cold at time but no Hurricaines and cheaper to live there then this overpriced area.
I had a good visit, but as far as zoos go, I'd give it a 3.5. Not sure it's worth $35 per person, but free parking was nice. Loved how up close you could get to the giraffes. At other zoos, you usually only get such an up close view if you pay extra to feed them. Enjoyed the different bird exhibits. Loved how you could view Africa from above and also see far out. It really seemed like you were on a safari with all the animals being together-- loved that! The entire zoo was set up in an organized and easy to follow mantra. Unique how some of the enclosures went above and to the other side. The only thing is that I didn't see any animals using them. The section with the sloths (I can’t remember the name): I saw few animals in this section and wasn't even always sure what was supposed to be in the enclosures. It would be nice to have volunteers at each section. Some had several and others had none. There didn’t seem to be tons of programming like at other zoos. Overall, I had a great visit. It would be great for kids. If you live local, it’s probably worth becoming a member.
This is one of the best zoos I've been to. The animals seem extremely well cared for and their well-being is top of mind. This should be on your list of things to do in the area.
This is an amazing zoo! It is easy to navigate with easy boardwalks to take you into the different areas of the zoo. The animals have so much room in natural settings. The staff of the zoo were available and informative. We enjoyed our visit so much!
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by this small county zoo! First of all, parking is free, entry tickets were reasonably priced, and discounted for military and vets. Paths were shaded, animals could be viewed closely, so I took many wonderful pictures. We paid a small fee to take part in the kayak tour around the giraffe "island". I was a bit disappointed that there is no longer an alpaca in the petting zoo. I was told she was spitting at visitors! There was a line to hand feed the giraffes for a few dollars. There are many kangaroos at the zoo and other animals and birds to view.
I have been too many zoos, and this was by far one of the best! My Mom And Dad and my husband and I were in Melbourne just for the night and went to the zoo during the day spent almost 2 hours there, that was plenty of time as long as you didn’t read every single Animal history that they had in front of the habitats. All the animals were adorable, there was so much vegetation, the habitats were beautiful and there was a lot of shade also for us humans. We especially liked the rhinos and the elevated walkways throughout the zoo so we can really get close and see a lot of the animals much closer than many other zoos …I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Melbourne area.!
Fantastic zoo. Animals all look very well taken care of. Their enclosures use natural materials whenever possible. Many interactive events. There’s also an adventure side with a zip line, canopy walk and kayaks. We felt like you got to get very close to see the animals. The zookeepers were all very well informed and shared lots of good facts. Wonderful zoo.
We were very impressed with the variety of animals. They appeared to be well fed, well cared for and comfortable in their environments. The entire park was immaculate. We recommend Brevard Zoo without reservation.
We loved this zoo. We've never been to a zoo with so many giraffes and been able to touch and feed them! My teen and preteen also just loved feeding the birds and having the one on one interaction with them. Very well designed zoo. Great first visit here!
An amazing place founded and created by thousands of volunteers on roughly 60 acres. We took family ranging from 7 to 73 and tried to do all of the activities offered. Time to accomplish this started at ten and ended at four. Fed the giraffes, kayaked the lagoon surrounding the giraffes. Hand fed the swarms of lorikeets and cockatiels. Got up close with the rhinoceros and fed the sloth. Zip lined and walked the upper canopy. All fairly priced and overseen by enthusiastic volunteers with professional staff involved when appropriate.
Blew our socks off. Entry fee was quite reasonable. Online tickets saved waiting in line. Every kind of animal I can imagine in huge, innovative enclosures built to accommodate the natures of the animals. Not just one of this and one of that. They have a herd of about 10 giraffes, a tribe of about 12 of a certain kind of tamarind, the list goes on and on. The animals were very active and interactive. I never knew what a coati was but when you get a bunch of them together they are very active and playful. Birds, birds everywhere. Africa and Australia were our favorites. Lovely all of it. I will definitely come back Tip: go early. Parking is a huge challenge
You can walk along side the kangaroos, there are no barriers unbelievable. I even saw the sloth climbing around with her baby attached to her. Many of the monkeys (all different kinds )had babies too.The animals are very well kept and they are very active compared to other zoos. Where they live is open (parrots, eagles etc) and very spacious for all animals. All the animals were up close, the Florida black bear sat right in front of the peliglass eating her lunch. For a smallish zoo they have so many animals, well worth the price and then some. I also did the canopy walk, very challenging and not for the weak of heart. I made it thru and was glad I went but it was tougher than I thought it would be, but then again I am 69 yrs old. Go to this zoo you will not be dissappointed.
Excellent small zoo! It was even better than my last visit. It could get expensive as a nonmember with a large family to do all the activities; but otherwise friendly, clean and animals appear happy. $5 to feed the Giraffe (2 lettuce leaves) $3 for nectar to feed birds in the aviary $5 for 2 pieces of fish for the rays
Small zoo. Well maintained. Animals were active enough to enjoy them. Lots of volunteers about. Had me a nice hour stroll and saw everything. I won’t pay $32 again for a visit but I know zoos take a lot of funding so don't begrudge it.
A great medium sized zoo with awesome up close animal experiences. Traveled as a family of 5 ( kids 14,12,&9). Loved being able to feed the giraffes and the kangaroos. We come from an area with great big city zoos but due to the close proximity to animals, the friendliness of staff and the experiences including kayaking, this one rivals them all. Great experience
