Doug was a great tour guide and shared so much knowledge about the ecosystem and the area. We enjoyed having Charlie (local dolphin) swim around us for a bit and the bird watching was amazing. The tour through the mangroves was a highlight. I highly recommend Mike’s Coastal Expeditions.

It was a wonderful experience! I was a little disappointed that we didn’t see any manatee, but I think it’s too early in the season. saw lots of other nature, including dolphins, an iguana, lots of different birds. My guide, Keone was knowledgeable and helpful but at the same time relaxed and fun! I highly recommend this tour.

Audrey took us on a fantastic tour! She’s studying marine science at FGCU which added a ton of knowledge to the wildlife, coastal plants, and sea life we saw. We had three small children, two elders, and 4 other adults. Audrey was patient, kind, informative, and helpful with the myriad of complexities our group carries. Definitely recommend this company, tour, and Audrey!

Ethan was a great guide. Very personable, knowledgeable about wildlife and pointed out species we came across, and he took pictures for us to document the trip. He even helped me find cool shells on the beach and spot dolphins . A highlight of my vacation.

Absolutely AMAZING experience! 🐬☀️ We saw multiple dolphins, got to hop out of our kayaks and play in the beautiful, warm Gulf water, and even found some gorgeous seashells along the way! Doug was fantastic—super knowledgeable, fun, and made the entire experience even better. It was truly EPIC from beginning to end! Such a memorable adventure and so much fun for the whole family. Cassidy and Ethan were amazing. They had such great knowledge of the area and wildlife. They took their time with us and let us explore the beach to gather shells we could take with us and even provided shell bags and water.

Keoni was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. He loves what he does and did his best so all enjoyed it. One friend was new to kayaking and he made sure she felt safe.

Audrey made for an outstanding outing! She was friendly, knowledgeable and skilled. We will ask for her again when we are in the area. This was an interesting tour. We saw dolphins, birds and mangrove trees close up. We learned a lot about the local ecosystem. And we had a lot of fun!!

My husband and I had Doug as a guide on a 2 hour guided kayak eco tour, and we had the BEST time! We ended up being the only people on the trip and Doug was fantastic about answering all of our questions and then some. We were able to kayak out and see the tide come in, which was very cool to see while on the water. We had dolphins interacting and hunting close to out kayaks and had a roseate spoonbill fly right right over us in the mangroves! We saw a bait ball of fish right off shore and cannot stress enough how great of a time we had. We'll definitely be coming back down and booking through Mike's Coastal Adventures again (and requesting Doug.) 😊

Doug was very knowledgeable, engaged and attentive throughout the entire time. Learned things that never knew, he has very unique experience and has great stories to tell. Very attentive and accommodating. We had an 80year old grandma with us and she loved every moment of this adventure. Would recommend for sure.

We had a wonderful overall experience, and special thanks to our guide, Kioni, who truly made the experience memorable. He was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job pointing out and explaining the many fascinating aspects of the wildlife and nature around us. He made sure everyone had a great experience and gave us a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the environment and the importance of preserving it.

My husband and I booked this for part of our honeymoon adventures and our tour guide Ethan did an amazing job. He’s very knowledgeable about the environment and wild life we were able to see on the tour. Also, we booked the clear kayaks and they were very honest with us about the conditions of the water and allowed us to chose a more comfortable kayak since the conditions were ideal for the clear kayaks! 10/10 from us!

We went on a group kayak tour, it started on time and it lasted 2 hours. What started as an outdoor adventure turned into an experience we’ll remember for a lifetime. Our guide, Doug, was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about Florida and its wildlife, but about so many places and topics around the world. Throughout the tour, he shared fascinating stories and information that kept us interested and entertained the entire time. We learned about how female dolphins can be more intelligent than male dolphins, how the unusually cold weather last winter affected manatees and iguanas, and the devastating impact Hurricane Ian had on the area. Even today, you can still see some of the effects of that storm. We collected some cool shells, a couple of pieces of sea glass, and we seen a lot of live conchs and one hermit. What made the experience special was how easily the conversation flowed. We talked about school, books we’ve read, the weather back home, travel, and so much more. There were plenty of laughs, interesting stories, and those little conversations that make you feel like you’re spending time with an old friend rather than someone you just met. We didn’t get to see any manatees or dolphins, and honestly, I was perfectly happy not to encounter any sharks! But we quickly realized that the wildlife wasn’t the only thing that made this tour special. The stories, laughter, knowledge, and memories we made together were worth every minute. By the end of the tour, it honestly felt like we had gained a new family member. Doug made us feel welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely connected to the experience and the beautiful Florida environment around us. We may not have seen the animals we hoped to see, but we left with something just as valuable, wonderful memories and a story we’ll be telling for years to come. If you’re considering a kayak tour, I highly recommend going. You might arrive as strangers and leave feeling like family, that is the best!

Ethan was fantastic! Kind, knowledgeable young man! Made sure everyone was comfortable and took some great photos and videos for us. Had great luck with wildlife even though it was a risk for the 1:30 midday excursion. Two dolphins, five manatee, and a number of birds. The mangrove tunnel was neat. All around great experience, would highly recommend for anyone!
