Blue Heron Drift Fishing Family Friendly Charter

We had an great time fishing on the Blue Heron charter boat. Crew and accommodations were excellent. The only glitch we experienced was from Tripadvisor’s communication. Their email links did not work causing us a problem with the launch location. However, Ed with Blue Heron took care of us on a different boat and time so it all worked out.

Really poor communication i tried calling hours before the event due to some complications with my reservation. They failed to pick up multiple times. At the time of the event they finally called and confirmed that they were going good to amend my trip to which I understood. I tried gathering whatever options I had to see what could possibly help. A representative did confirm a refund or rescheduled reservation and with the options I had available I could not attend due the time slot dates being too far out from my time/trip flying to west palm. So, i chose the refund option. I put in my refund request and it got denied even though they ensured me that this was possible to consider if there was complications such as this.

Its was great. We all had chance to caught fish. The crew was amazing. Smooth ride. Bring snack an water help alot.

Good experience good price not a lot of people only thing that we made a lot of stops and the last stop went we start getting fish it was tine to come back we waist a little time but I love to go again

What a fun experience! 6 out of 8 of us caught at least one fish. My nephew had a 10-minute wrestling match with a … lemon shark??? So exciting! Spencer was such a work horse! The captain was such a calming influence. We fried up all the fresh fish we caught. The crew cleaned and filleted all our catch and it was delicious! Thanks for an amazing adventure.

Really appreciated the time we had on the blue Heron. It was obvious the crew and the captain were very concerned about helping us try to catch fish. It wasn’t in the cards for us that day, but not at all due to their lack of trying. Ian was quick to change bait and help me get my rod back in the water. Thanks for a great day!

Had a great time on the Blue Heron drift fishing trip! The crew was fantastic — they kept everyone baited up, informed, and fishing throughout the trip. As a beginner, I really appreciated how helpful and attentive they were. I ended up catching 2 fish and had a great experience overall. A tip for future anglers: remember the marker number the crew gives you (for example, "2 on the head" or wherever they place it). When the fish are cleaned and handed out at the end of the trip, you'll want to know which fish are yours. You can bring your own snacks and drinks, which I highly recommend. There's an inside section of the boat if you want to stay dry or keep personal items protected. One angler caught a couple of nice fish but didn't have his phone with him, so I took a few photos for him and sent them afterward. Things I'd recommend bringing: * Water * Gatorade or Powerade * Motion sickness medication (take it before the trip) * Snacks * Cash for tips Be sure to bring some cash to tip the crew at the end of the trip. They work hard keeping lines baited, helping with fish, untangling lines, and cleaning your catch. I also recommend leaving a cooler in your vehicle. That way, after the trip you can ice down your cleaned fish and still have a place to keep your drinks and snacks cold before boarding. One thing I thought was fun: they had an optional biggest-fish pool. If you're a friendly gambler, you can throw a few dollars into the pot with other anglers. Whoever catches the biggest fish wins the cash prize. It's completely optional, but it adds a little excitement to the trip. Overall, a fun, family-friendly trip with a hardworking crew. Whether you're an experienced angler or trying offshore fishing for the first time, the Blue Heron crew does a great job making sure everyone has a good time. I'd definitely go again!

★☆☆☆☆ – Two Chances to Make It Right, Two Failures I booked this fishing trip while my nephews were visiting from out of town. What should have been a fun day on the water turned into one of the most frustrating customer-service experiences I've had in South Florida. We drove approximately 30 minutes to the Jupiter departure location and arrived with our cooler and gear ready to fish. As we were literally walking up to the dock, we were informed that the boat would not be sailing because there weren't enough passengers. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had called the operation from the parking lot less than 10 minutes earlier to confirm I was in the correct location. At no point during that call was I told the trip had been canceled. Instead, we were allowed to arrive, unload, and walk to the dock before finding out. The staff then told us there was another boat they operated out of Riviera Beach and assured us they would wait for us. Trying to salvage the day, we immediately got back in the car and drove roughly another 30 minutes south. When we arrived, that boat had already left. Nobody waited. Nobody called ahead to coordinate. Nobody verified that the captain knew we were coming. Nobody contacted us during the drive. We were simply sent on a 30-minute chase only to discover we had been left behind again. So in a single morning, this company managed to: * Cancel our scheduled trip without notifying us. * Fail to mention the cancellation when I called minutes before arrival. * Send us to a second location. * Fail to ensure the second boat actually waited. * Waste more than an hour of driving time. * Ruin an outing that had been planned specifically for visiting family. I understand that weather happens. Mechanical issues happen. Even low passenger counts happen. What I don't understand is the complete lack of communication and coordination that turned a disappointing situation into a complete waste of our day. I can't review the fishing because despite making two separate attempts to get on one of their boats, we never actually got the opportunity to fish. If you're booking with this operation, understand that a reservation apparently does not guarantee a trip, and the communication when things go wrong leaves a lot to be desired. One star because zero stars isn't an option.

Capt. Johnny and the crew on the Blue Heron II are absolutely amazing!! We booked the six hour tour and it was one of the best trips we have been on. The crew was quick to bait, ensure tackle was correct, and get those fish onto the boat with speed. Thank you for the great memories and putting service first!!!

Don’t get through the website went to the boat and didn’t get to go out. Waste of money didn’t get a refund. went on another boat and this is what I got.

The crew were great, very quick to rebait your line in order to keep you fishing. My 8 year old grandson was part of our group, the crew went out of there way to insure he had a good experience.

Great crew and experience. Crew was very helpful with equipment and bait. Good time was had by all. Highly recommend whether experienced or not.

I did not appreciate getting my charter cancelled and them not giving me my money back . I do not reccomend they wont even answer the phone now

My boys and I had a good time! We were warned that the sea was rough and sea sickness was a very possible thing. Gave us the option to refund or reschedule. We were on our last day of vacation and my son was looking forward to going out for a year so we went. Each kid went down 1 by 1 but still enjoyed the trip. My son was excited to catch a sea urchin before he got sea sick. The crew was helpful and so were some of the other fisherman. it’s nice when others help kids to fall in love with the sport of fishing! If traveling with kids just know the sea is a gamble and so is getting fish! Part of the excitement! seeing others get mahi mahi, dolphin, snapper was enough for us! Would highly recommend!

Experience fishing crew knows it all, if your experience at fishing on the Ocean or not, there great at assisting! I caught the biggest fish in our group!!! What luck! I’ll be back so yes you should schedule this fishing trip.

I have booked this Charter twice. Once in Nov and once in Jan. Both times I booked on a Sunday. We drove 1 hr each way and when we arrive they say “Sorry we have to cancel because we don’t have enough people”. They never called in advance and advised us. The first time they refunded me right away. This second time they have not refunded me and don’t respond to phone calls or emails! If you really want to take this charter make sure you have a group of at least 10 or chances are it will be cxld with no advance notice. It is a big waste of time!!!!!!

When the trip was canceled, getting a refund is not easy, the boat captain at the dock said I would be getting a refund for canceling trip. Three weeks still no refund. Trying to get refund on website is frustrating , still no luck

The captain and the crew are always accommodating and do their best to make it easy to catch fish. They are a great crew.

Trip was cancelled due to low turnout. Company requires minimum of ten people. This is the second time this has happened to me with Blue Heron.

They were over booked not enough help spent most of the time with no hook or bait waste of a trip there was 3 of us in my party and all 3 of us same problem

Booked an afternoon trip for me and my brother on the Blue Heron drift boat. We arrived on time but nobody else showed up, so they canceled the trip. The captain said they would refund my money, but it's been eight days and I haven't received it yet. Now I can't figure out how to get in touch with anybody to ask about it.

Nothing yet. I’m looking to get my refund back as the boat did not go out because there wasn’t enough people to go out.

We had booked a 1:00pm cruise. We arrived at 12:45pm. They at that time advised the 7 of us booked was not enough people and they would have to Cancel. 1 guy even said he would pay for 3 more people so we could go. They refused to let him do this and said No we are cancelling this trip. THEY ARE NOT PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH!!! Don’t book this boat. They ruined several people’s day as we were all looking forward to this and now it was too late to book something else!!

Crowded but fun a lot of inexperienced fishermen made it difficult to land your fish. We missed 3 quality fish that we would have liked to eat for dinner.

You can bring your own gear and bait. Staff is great will help all they can.our trip caught mainly yellow tail snapper and bonita

Terrible. Arrived before 1pm and followed instructions to get to boat. The gate they said to use was locked, my party called the number provided letting them know the gate was locked and we couldn't get through. Eventually had to find another way around the building. Once finding another way around the building not only my friend and I, but a family of four were waiting as the boat had already left. When calling and explaining our situation, we were given the response of “no refunds”, even though we did follow instructions and directions on how to arrive to the pick up spot. Really frustrating and upsetting, I have had precious experiences with this charter that have been nothing short of excellent until now, which is a bummer.

Was in parking lot before one pm at the gate to the right side of jetty’s where sign pointed. Gate was locked called office at one to ask what was up because no one showed up or made an announcement. Missed the experience

We had a good time, caught a few fish , staff was great Encountered a school of about 5 sharks that took alit of the fish but was so much fun

Enjoyable fishing trip. The captain and mates were friendly and helpful. We caught Rudder fish. Someone on the boat caught a 12 lb. Snapper and black fin tuna. Awesome day on the water!

I highly recommend this boat for fishing. The boat is clean inside and out. The captain of the boat put us on the fish several times. The mates were excellent, always willing to help! They are not stingy with their bait on the boat. They also chum. We had gone on other boats, but they were nothing like this boat. We definitely will be back for another trip. The Blue Heron is the boat to fish on in Jupiter.

Rough waters the day we went out but the crew was able and confident. Felt like we were in great hands. Very good with instructing us on deep sea fishing and keeping our lines baited and untangled.

Amazing experience! Lots of fish caught that put up great fights!! Everyone on the boat was catching fish, and the crew were all absolutely amazing!!

Missed all the storms and had a wonderful day on the water. Fishing was So-so, caught mostly banded Rudder fish. Ed and the crew were great

Our experience was fabulous! The Captain and Crew were engaging, helpful and enthusiastic. The only annoyance was tangled fishing lines because we all had to fish on same side of the boat.

i should of heed their warning .. hi waves.... etc. got sick.. only 3 fish out of the entire group caught. - a little chilly and rough seas did not help staff.. are great!!

My nephews and I had a blast! The captain and crew were extremely helpful as I did not have a clue what I was doing. However, the guys helped me with my 2 catches & I was grateful for the experience.

The bite was on and off luckily the captain reset drifts when times were slow. Great experience and the deck hands on point.

We are locals to West Palm Beach and probably our sixth or seventh time doing going out on Blue Heron charter boat. It’s awesome every time we go. Even when there is a lot of people it’s still rad and end up making friends with all the people on board. Captain and crew do all the work aside from reeling for you. They bate the hooks and re-bate, untangle and whatever you need. My son and I love going out and he asks me all the time to go back out. It’s the perfect amount of time on the water. We make sure to bring food and snacks and lots of drinks for every trip. Overall A+ service.

Every year we come back from VA To fish with this Captain and his crew. Nothing less than top notch!!!!!!
