Captain Eric was knowledgeable of all the dive sites in the area, and the worldcat boat was smooth in the chop and had plenty of shade. The equipment was all new and all on all the experience was excellent.

Eric was very professional and friendly. His knowledge of the islands and the reefs was extensive. He made sure every person felt comfortable and had a good time. I felt safe, taken care of and got everything I paid for! Thank you Eric!

Had a great time. Due to weather, we were delayed a day and communication was great. We were given the option to cancel if the new time didn’t work out but fortunately we were able to make it work. Captain Eric was welcoming and informed about the area.

Let me start off by saying this experience was so incredible. Everything was perfect from the second we arrived. Jose was our captain and he was absolutely amazing! He talked us through everything step by step from the beginning to the end. He was also very laid back which is exactly what we needed. Being from WI and just being unapologetically us, we needed someone on that same level. Jose delivered. We had the opportunity to see a sea turtle on our way out to reef and the reefs were absolutely breathtaking. We got a little freaked out seeing some barracuda almost immediately after jumping in but if you leave them alone, they will just swim by. The reefs, turquoise water and beautiful fish were amazing. I can’t use that word enough. We also got to see the statue of Christ which is a beauty all on its own. For anyone wondering, we did not encounter any sharks or anything that could potentially eat us. Although captain Jose did have a reef shark swim right by him, it just cruised on by and didn’t bother anyone. We booked a private tour so we could have our own space and not be rushed. Whether it’s your first time or your millionth time snorkeling, I highly recommend Snorkel the Keys! Not sure if you can request your captain but ASK FOR JOSE! He is the best and made this experience so much more enjoyable.

Had a 2.5 hr. private snorkeling tour to the reef with my family which was wonderful. Captain Eric was awesome! He made everyone feel comfortable from the start regardless if you were experienced or a newbie (like myself) keeping everyone involved. Once snorkeling, he was able to provide details of the sea life and reef, provide water, snacks when needed and even consolation/helpful tips if seasick (again me). My husband and I booked a private snorkeling tour with Snorkel the Keys. For a private experience for just the two of us, the pricing was incredibly reasonable. Unfortunately, I became seasick while in the water, which made for a less-than-ideal situation on our end. However, I can’t say enough good things about our captain. He was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive—he immediately recognized that I was struggling and quickly helped me safely back to the boat. He remained calm and reassuring throughout, which made a big difference in a stressful moment. While the experience didn’t go as we had originally planned, it’s important to say that this was not at all a reflection of the company or the crew. The level of care, professionalism, and compassion we received truly stood out. We walked away with a very positive impression and have already recommended this company to friends. This was a great experience from start to finish! Our guide was easy going, polite, and fun to talk with. He took us to an amazing snorkeling spot that was so beautiful. We paid $20 for an SD card to use in a waterproof go pro camera and took the card home with us and enjoyed watching the fish again when we got home. My daughters loved the experience as it was their first time. We look forward to coming back again in the future. Totally beats the large tours with tons of people on the boat. It was like having our own private tour and so relaxing!

We had so much fun! Our guide José was amazing and the snorkeling was beautiful! They provided drinks, chips, and snorkel gear. We went to the Christ statue and saw so many pretty fish and pretty coral! We saw sting rays, squid, lobster, parrot fish, blue tang, and so much more! Highly recommend!

We had such a great day out on the water! They were so friendly and easy to work with. The snorkeling was amazing, we saw so many different types of fish. We did get out of the water a little early because my daughter was cold. He offered to take us through the Mangroves with the extra time which we really appreciated. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend!

Ok-snorkeling tour with private boat. Idk if our captain Bob was having a bad day or if he was just tired, but he seemed a bit annoyed. Polite and smiling but not so good vibe so nothing special there. The snorkeling-part itself was amazing with so many different kinds of fish.

Booked a trip for my family of 5. Communication with Capt Bob was outstanding!! He went above and beyond to make our safety and enjoyment his priority. We will definitely book with him again when we return to the Keys!

What a great experience with family! A private 4 person charter was just the ticket. Captain Bob was awesome. He talked about the history of the reef and other fun facts which about the area which being a long time Keys visitor for 40 years was new to us even. We as a family have been on many snorkeling trips but never in our backyard like this one. Pennekamp was everything we heard about and more. The corals were amazing and the tropical fish beautiful. The 2.5 hour tour was the exact right amount of time to see a decent amount of the reef. We were in the water for about 90 mins which goes by pretty quick. I highly recommend Snorkel the Keys as the Team and equipment exceeded expectations. Worth every penny!!

Private Snorkeling Tour for a Family of 5! We booked a private tour verse a group tour, so we could get the one on one as 4 of the 5 hasn't snorkeled before. The captain stayed in touch with us the day before and the morning of our trip due to the weather. He gave us the option to continue the trip or get a refund. We continued as it was our only day of our trip we could snorkel, and we are so glad we did! Our 10 and 14 year old boys absolutely loved it. Highly recommend doing a private tour if you get the chance! We will do another one if we come back to Florida!

Bob was amazing!!! Professional, nice boat and equipment. LOVE the fact that we had a private tour versus a huge group/boat of people. I would have loved to snorkel 30min-1 hour longer, but all in all 10/10 experience and I highly recommend!

Had a brilliant time snorkelling! Captain Bob was great, took us to a less busy part of the reef and explained where to go and what we would see. Fitted us all with snorkel equipment and provided soft drinks and snacks for afterwards. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time snorkeling. It was so much nicer having a private boat for my family than being on one of the larger snorkel cruises with a ton of people. The captain was great. The ship was super clean and very nice. We had a great time!

Very good experience. Serious boat captain with a neat and clean boat. Safety brief with a little humour included. Traveling with a party of 6 was hardly any more expensive than doing a big boat tour. Just being us in the boat was really worth it.

Captain Bob was great. Took us to a beautiful part of the Reef, and tried hard to get us there before the crowds arrived. He was knowledgeable about the history of the area and was able to tell us what fish we saw. Definitely worth a little extra to go on a private Tour!

Our family of 5 (54, 53, 24, 22, 20) booked an outing and had a great time. Captain Bob was wonderful. We took an afternoon snorkeling session and all of us really enjoyed it. Highly recommend. The cost was comparable to a larger boat with others but much more private.

Captain Bob is absolutely wonderful. You do not need to be an experienced snorkeler to have an amazing experience. He told us some history, shared his knowledge about the island, and made us feel safe and comfortable. If you’re looking for a family outing, go with Captain Bob.

Great snorkeling experience with Bob! We had exactly the right amount of time to snorkel, and it was lovely to take it all at our family’s own pace. We were 2 adults + 2 young teens. Saw amazing array of fish. Highlight of our trip!

We had a great afternoon with Captain Bob. The waters were rough the day we went and Captain Bob was careful in finding us the best place to snorkel. We had 2 young boys (8 &11) one who had never snorkeled before and he had all the right equipment and knowledge to make it a pleasant experience under difficult conditions.

Captain Bob was a great instructor and guide. I appreciated that he took care and time in getting us fitted up with the right size wetsuits and gear. I think that really made for a great experience. He explained everything we needed to know clearly. Even the boat ride out to the Grecian Rocks was fun and scenic. We had plenty of time to swim around the reef and see so many colorful and interesting fish. Our group was happy we chose this private tour over snorkeling with the masses. We had the whole reef area to ourselves.

Trip was fantastic. The captain knows what he is doing and took us to two different sites as the first one was super busy with large charters. The second place he took us was fantastic and we had it all to our selves. The snorkelling was amazing.

I highly recommend Captain Bob for a Snorkel tour of the John Pennycamp Coral Reef. My young kids were first timers and he took care to fit us properly for wetsuits and masks. He inspected the masks we brought ourselves and make recommendations for a better fit. He listened to my concern of staying in shallow water and the result was an amazing hour as a family! He was prompt, thorough and professional.

We had a great time on our private snorkel tour. The reef in Key Largo is beautiful, and we saw many fish. Unfortunately, the day we went was somewhat rough water and slightly cloudy water, but overall, it was still good. It was nice not being on a boat with a lot of other people - and the cost difference between a "public" tour and this private tour was minimal. Our private tour did include using a nice water camera, so that was also a good incentive to go this route.

We really enjoyed our snorkeling adventure. Captain Bob was very helpful! He had prescription googles for the ones who needed it. He took photos of us and let us use his underwater camera to document our trip. The reef was gorgeous. The weather was perfect. An excellent time was had by all.

What an amazing experience! Bob, the captain, was very responsive, polite and helpful. We had two kids with us, who never had snorkeled before, but it was not a problem at all - precise, clear instructions with a nice dose of humor from the captain side helped everyone to get prepared and enjoy wonderful snorkeling in the reefs. For the first time snorkeling everything was perfect - right amount of time we had spent in the water, beautiful reef location, fresh water and snacks on the boat. Definitely recommend!

Greg Sherman is a great captain- he listened to what we wanted to get out of our snorkeling adventure and really took great care of us. He won't steer you wrong- literally! He was very knowledgeable about the area and clearly passionate about being out on the water. It was an awesome private ride with close friends.

Captain Greg was amazing! He was able to customize the trip just for us! Everyone enjoyed the boat ride, seeing Christ of the Abyss and the coral reef. Captain Greg made it easy when a few of our people needed assistance finding the reef. He just moved the boat closer! It was great to be on a private boat with just our party. Captain Greg was knowledgeable and accommodating! We definitely recommend this tour and Captain Greg!!!

Captain was short with us when we arrived because we were late due to traffic. Already a little stressed by the time we arrived, and his demeanor didn't help. :) He got nicer as the trip went on and the reef was beautiful. Would likely recommend, but give extra time if coming from Miami. Took us 2.5 hours due to multiple wrecks.
