Trip was great, DJ was polite and the captain, Hands, was pleasant as well. Everyone in the party caught a fish. It was a beautiful day out in the middle of paradise.

The guys, Captain Sam and Deckhand Caleb, worked very hard to make sure we had a great time and caught fish! I was a solo female fisherman and felt quite comfortable and am glad I chose Cowboy/Cowgirl Fishing charters! Will refer them if anyone ever asks! Hope to use them again myself!
Captain Steve and Mate Talon gave us the best experience.. we had a blast and caught some delicious Mahi!!!
Tyson was a great first mate. Very friendly and helpful. He helped with the set up, the catching, the cleaning and more. Captain Sam was nice as well, just busy trying to find us the best spots!
What an amazing day with Captain Sam and First Mate DJ! After a slow start, they got us on several different kinds of fish, including an 85ish pound fish. DJ was kind, patient, encouraging and knowledgeable. Sam knew how to get us on the fish, repeatedly. Our group of 4 had quite a haul!
The boat caught 12 fish, but the experience was not what we expected. We basically were on a 6-hour boat ride. The captain trolled for fish the entire time. We had 6 people on the charter. We rotated when the deck hand hooked a fish and we reeled it in. (Felt like a child) So around twice each of us got to bring a fish in. Maybe we were each on the deck for a total of 10-15 minutes each during the entire 6-hour fishing trip. The rest of the time we waited for our turn seated inside to be called on deck to reel in a fish. We have never been on a fishing charter like this before. We probably would not choose this experience for ourselves again. We like to fish not watch someone else fish and then reel their catch in. Also, what you catch - "reel in" is cleaned and distributed between all of the people on the boat including the captain and hand. This was a different experience as well. I caught a very large Wahoo and was given just a few pieces.
Captain Hans and mate Caleb were fantastic. Caleb worked incredibly hard to get everything ready and prepare us to have a great time. Both were on the lookout for the best spots and if we weren't catching, we moved on to the next location until we found some fish. Caleb worked like crazy to get fish off the hook and lines back in the water. 4 of us were on the boat and we all got to reel in multiple fish. Ended up maxing out our catch limit. Great overall experience!
This fishing experience was wonderful and great for the novice, experienced and anyone else. Captain AJ and mate Tyson were diligent about making sure we got on the fish and had a great day.
Great experience overall. Caleb was our deck hand and was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Didn’t catch anything, but the boat was nice and so were the crew
Slow fishing day but still fun.
Amazing Would definitely, go back and recommend to friends.
The fishing trip was in my opinion worth the money. The Captain and Mate were good at working as a team. I plan to use them again when I am back in Key West.
Such a great experience with Talon and Captain Paul. They even filleted the fish when we go back to the dock
The absolute best fishing charter I have ever been on. Captain Sam was amazing, very helpful and friendly! Shoutout also to our Mate Tyson who was fantastic and on top of everything also very friendly. Everyone on there team was knowledgeable and kind. Took us to THE spot we hit every time we dropped! We caught a bunch of fish and had the best time. I cant recommend enough. We will absolutely be back every time we are in the Key West!
My husband and I love to fish and we both were looking for more than just a large boat with 40+ people catching small fish. Our captain and first mate Talon were super friendly!! This experience is trolling for fish. Not super exciting, unless a fish hits! There were 6 of us, and only 3 people landed a fish. They did their best to try and the fish. The best part- they’ll fillet it for you and recommend a great restaurant where they’ll cook it for you (3 courses only $20) and it was DELICIOUS!! Overall I gave 4/5 because the fuel surcharge isn’t noted until AFTER you book which I think is kinda sneaky. But overall it was a great trip
Water was rough, the fishermen can’t control the weather. That being said, one person in our party got seasick despite using prescription patches.
We cannot say enough great things about the crew Paul, Dan, and Tyson of the Sanctuary. We did the 6 hour fishing cruise today and had the most spectacular time. They are a great great crew!!!!!! So much so since this was a shared trip with others we’ve booked a private 6 hour trip for a few days from now. These guys were so personable and had great personalities and they were all very knowledgeable and answered all questions. You will not be disappointed with this boat or this crew A+++++++++
staff very god, nice trip, convenient price and professional set up
Excellent charter company. Capt. Sam Kept us on fish. I highly recommend.
Best deep sea fishing! So many fish! And in the end the kids got to feed the tarpon and and manatee! Captain Nels and Mate Daniel were amazing!!! Definitely recommend - they even told us where to go get our fish cooked for dinner - which was also amazing!
All trolling You basically wait till they catch a fish for you and hand the rod to you!! In our case we caught nothing
Even though it was a tough day for fishing, Larry and captain Sam did everything they could to get us fish. My wife caught a Mahi and they prepped the fish for cooking and told us where to go. My recommendation is check the wind before you go, east wind is bad north winds is what you want. Wife is hooked on deep sea fishing so we will use them again.
Great day on the water. The crew was friendly and worked extremely hard to help us catch our mahi
This is one of the more budget friendly fishing tours in Key West. Nevertheless, there is no lack of professionalism in this business. They really care that you catch a fish and will do anything they reasonably can to further that end. We all caught various kinds of tunas. I just saw one of the hardest working deck-hands, maybe the hardest working person I've ever seen in my life, running around vigilantly keeping our lines up and baited for several hours nonstop. All the while he maintained the best attitude and was uncommonly polite. This is stuff you don’t seem to see any more.
First time offshore fishing for my son and me. Captain Sam and Talon were great. When the big fish weren't biting for any of the charter boats they brought us closer to shore where we were able to catch enough yellowtail snapper for dinner for 4. Would definitely go out with them again.
Sam and Talon did a fantastic job of providing us a great time fishing. If you are into fishing Sam is teaching a master class in record time to get you catching fish. From big trophy sailfish to yellow tail snapper, we had a great time with good results. (As I write this, I’m eating the fish we caught). We will definitely be back!
Captain Bobby and Larry are the best! We had 4 rods bite at the same time and Larry was an absolute pro! Fantastic time. Never worried about our safety. So glad we booked with Cowboy!
Captain Bobby was great. His mate Larry was awesome. He was constantly doing any and everything to help us catch fish, the entire trip. Had a great experience for sure. We would book with them again.
We had an amazing time with Caleb, Sam and Willy. My son and I enjoyed the crew and shared charter. It was amazing to be trolling and catching fish in the Atlantic. We will be back.
Very awesome trip! The crew knew what to look for and got us on some great fish! I will definitely be booking with them again
Great day out on the water! Captn Sam and mate Eric were super friendly and relaxed. Caught shark, barracuda (both released),
Second time with Cowboy/Cowgirl charters. The experience was great, easy to book Michelle gave us all the info we needed ahead of time. Captain Tom and crew Nells were both working hard to find us some fish to get into. Fishing was slow do to the time of year, but we came out with a nice Skip Jack and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Kaya Eats recommended by Michelle. Can't wait to come back and do it again!
This is a great sport fishing experience. There was 3 of us and 3 other people. Chase and Magnus did a great job on a hot day. We had more fish than the 3 of us could eat. So good!
We signed up online for this trip after reading reviews on this website for "Cowboy Cowgirl Charters". It was our first time going deep see fishing. My son 16 yo and myself never caught mahi or tuna and that was our hope. We got a text night before that we were put on a boat name "Ultra grand slam" with captain Magnuss. I am not sure if this boat is even a part of Cowboy Charters. Boat website states that it is the largest boat in the dock with AC and other perks. Well, didn't feel any AC, boat was old and smell of fuel/diesel was significant while we were trolling/fishing. Our boat ended up with 4 people total, myself and my son and 2 individuals that were adults but they didn't know each other. We got to the grounds and fished for 4 1/2 hours. We only caught 3 mahi and they were barely legal size to keep. There were 5 fishing poles in the water and lines were constantly tangled. First mate was complaining about that half of the trip. Captain and mate were not on the same page as mate even argued with him " were are all good here, but no birds" meaning no fish biting. I understand that it is fishing, but to get 3 fish only where most of the boats that came back to harbor had double digits is not ok. I got to real 1 fish in 4 1/2 hours for the price we paid is not acceptable. Everyone could have a bad day, but captain said before we left that with full moon and rocky seas we should catch a lot. And then stayed in the same area for all of the time, didn't try anything different at all. Just went trough motions. Lastly, when we came back to dock, our catch was split 3 way. Maybe i didn't understand the meaning of shared charter, but didn't know that we share fish. Out 3 fish we caught, 2 were caught by my son and me. We all selected our order that we will catch the fish. but either way, we split fish 3 way not 4 way and our group got the same amount of fish than individuals got. Everyone paid the same amount so should've been split 4 way. Thank god my daughter doesn't like to eat fish, otherwise we wouldn't have enough fish for a family of 4 for a meal. On a positive side, we caught mahi that we wanted, on a negative side, we expected more than we got. My son was so bored, that for the last hour he just went inside and slept versus enjoying the view and hope to catch fish. There is definitely some room for improvement with what we experienced with this boat. We usually stay in Marathon and had a choice between Key West shared charters or Islamorada. I think if we do this again, we probably will try Islamorada charter next and hope for a much better experience.
Captain Chris and AC were GREAT!! Amazing experience for our whole family. We are definitely going back. They worked their a@$&! Off and made sure we had a great trip!! AC kept it cool when the fishing was hot!!
Me,my husband and our friends had a great time out fishing with Capt. Paul and Chris. Definitely will be back next time we are in town!
Great day of fishing - caught 22 mahi keepers and many more that didn't meet the length requirement. Everyone had a great time on the shared charter. Daniel and Chris worked hard to keep us all fishing. Highly recommend.
WELL WELL!!! IM GONNA SAY OUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH A CHARTER (OUT OF MARATHON) DID NOT GO SO WELL, SO WE HAVE BEEN HESITANT TO BOOK ANOTHER! SOOOO COWBOY CHARTERS HAS GIVEN US A NEW PROFOUND RESPECT FOR FISHING CHARTERS!!! THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MEET OUR EXPECTATIONS! PHIL AND RYAN WERE AMAZING! WE WANTED TO FISH, AND FISH AND CATCH WE DID!!!! PHIL IS A HIGHLY EXPERIENCED CAPTAIN THAT PUT US ON THE DOLPHIN'S (MAHI) AND THE MATE RYAN HELPED US CATCH THEM! WE CAUGHT SOME REALLY NICE FISH! WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! WE WILL DEFINATELY BE CHARTERING WITH THEM AGAIN!!! NO MATTER WHAT THE ON WATER OCCASION!!!!
Booked Cowboy and Cowgirl for a 6-hour shared charter. Chris and Chase were friendly and made you feel welcome. Chase went over the safety and fishing rules while we traveled to the fishing grounds. The boat was lucky enough to pull in 3 Mahi and 2 Barracuda and we certainly missed a few even though the seas were a bit choppy. Chase was a busy mate keeping the bait clean and helping all the anglers. We would certainly recommend them to anyone.
Chase and Chris were amazing! What a great day on a shared 3/4 day charter. I highly recommend cowboy cowgirl Sportfishing and will be back next time I’m in key west!
Had a great time with the crew! Deep sea fishing was slow but after we headed into the reef we caught yellowtail like crazy!
